Or not us.
hopefully....
Well, why hello. We are two 3rd/4th year college students who love Disney World. And we like to go to Disney World multiple times each year. We are south Florida residents and we have seasonal passes. If it is not a short weekend trip, it is a 5-7 day trip where we endeavor to eat rich and sinful foods every single day--a feat we certainly try not to do back home. We like to eat because it is fun and feels oh so good. Who are we?
Here:
http://i333.photobucket.com/albums/m388/scohen66/September/23078716713_0_BG.jpg
Oh sorry, that is us in the Disney spirit. Sorry. How did that get snuck in there?
How about this:
http://i333.photobucket.com/albums/m388/scohen66/September/spaceshipearth.jpg
No? What happened to our bodies? That is totally not actual life!
Ugh okay, one last try before I give up:
http://i333.photobucket.com/albums/m388/scohen66/September/IMG_3204.jpg
Much better. And look! There is food already precariously placed infront of our grubby hands. Niiiice. That makes this review already easy enough.
Anyway, after this apparant photo fiascal, let me get down to the quick nitty gritty.
My name is Sarah and my boyfriend of 4 years is Dustin. I am a 4th year (not that I am almost graduating; I have just been in college for four years) student majoring in English and attending Florida Atlantic University. I am also a pescetarian. Confused? There is a nifty internet craze called google, I hear. ;) Other than my pescetarian ways, I am very adventerous in the food department.
Dustin is a 3rd year student (and for him, that actually means he is a junior--more determination, I suppose) majoring in Media Arts and Animation whom attends The Art Institute of Ft. Lauderdale. He is very picky. He is questionable over mystery sauces, but loves meat and potatoes of any kind (except game). He hates any vegetable to a passion. If he eats a spinach leaf, he swallows it with a grimace and goes "blech, yuck!" very loudly. He also hates fresh fruit and most fruit flavored things. He does not like foods with mayonnaise, nor sour cream. He can stand herbs, just not chives.
He is a sugar fiend (especially cookies). He dreams of mozzarella cheese. But, he is adventerous in his own way--he loves sushi and cous cous, things with interesting spices and zings to it. But trust me (thanks! you just met me!), before we met, he wouldn't even eat rice or pasta because it was "slippery feeling." But I am NOT laughing at him... it is a real phobia that he has struggled to get through.
Did y'all notice that his introduction was two paragraphs long? Sheesh. I guess I don't have much to say about me then, huh?
This will be the longest of my descriptions, because I will follow a quick and easy format. First will be our server's name (if applicable), the time of the reservation and what was noted on the receipt, and date. Then will be the lovely pictures and our quick (yet hopefully witty) thoughts. And then, the cost--individual items first, then the whole shebang. Lastly will be our thoughts on the whole experience. Also expect some fun pictures, inside shots of the restaurants, and some menu glances.
Oh, yeah, we were also on the basic DDP with lots of OOP meals thrown in, with the use of the DDE/Tables in Wonderland (:sniff: do I smell pot?) card. We were also staying at the AKL. This is not important to the food reviews, but I digress.
Restaurants/things to be reviewed: in order.

from, Day 1
Time: Unknown, as the reciept got covered in free syrup as I went on a tangent and drank the precious liquid from its tiny body. I shall use my memory (oh bother) and say the time was 7:45 am. Early. We just got to the hotel.

You'll need it. The Mara is located outside by the pool. If you are not careful, you might just walk straight on to the other side. Isn't that a song?
Bounty Platter with meats on the side, along with one chocolate milk, one orange juice, ketcup, jam, and the aforementioned free breakfast syrup (for the potatoes)
http://i333.photobucket.com/albums/m388/scohen66/September/IMG_2547.jpg
It was standard breakfast fare. The eggs and waffle were outsanding, though. Not too runny, yet not rubber at all, and the waffle was crisp. And it was fairly hot, a trend I happily saw at Mara.
Dustin: I liked the meats and potatoes.
Summary:
Bounty platter - 8 something (yes! oy.)

WOLFGANG PUCK EXPRESS
from, Day 1
Time: 12:53 PM
Cast Member: Shaneena (love that name)
Situation: We just spent 4 hours at Typhoon Lagoon frollicking in the slight rain and intermitted sunshine. As we are close to Downtown Disney, I wittily imply... FOOD. Please have it be at WPE, where MickeyNicki has given us lovely pictures of. Also, it was expensive, and yes--I wanted to get my money worth. I mean, is that a crime? We are two college students and thrifty is our name-o.... don't JUDGE us, man! :guilty:

Meatball and Parmesan Pizza (Niman Ranch meatballs, fresh basil pesto, mozzarella and Parmesan cheeses, tomato-basil garlic sauce and fresh basil)
http://i333.photobucket.com/albums/m388/scohen66/September/IMG_2590.jpg
http://i333.photobucket.com/albums/m388/scohen66/September/IMG_2592.jpg
In Dustin's own words: It was good. Thats it. I'm sorry, it was just good. Enough said. Well, the meatballs itself was very good--they had a nice flavor to them. It was a nice size.
Sarah's Edit:  He ate it. I guess that means he liked it.
Mediterranean Vegetable Focaccia Melt (a savory blend of fresh goat cheese, mozzarella, and Grana Pordana Parmesan, sautéed zucchini, mushrooms, eggplant and peppers blended with sun-dried tomatoes and rolled in warm, all natural garlic focaccia bread. Served with a side of fresh greens)
http://i333.photobucket.com/albums/m388/scohen66/September/IMG_2594.jpg
http://i333.photobucket.com/albums/m388/scohen66/September/IMG_2596.jpg
Outstanding. The vegetables were fresh and still crispy with a lot of flavor, the cheese melty, the bread garlicky, and don't get me started on the messy factor. Anything messy has to be good, hence the wild amount of work for it. I did not care for the greens at all. It seemed to be missing its dressing. I could not finish this.
Creme Brulee
http://i333.photobucket.com/albums/m388/scohen66/September/IMG_2589.jpg
Oddly enough, the best creme brulee I have ever eaten. Sooo good and sooo sinful. The sugar on top is the best part. Delish.
Dustin also had a brownie because he is also a brownie fiend. He was expecting something fudgier, but got something cakier. He still ate it though. I mean, how can you not?
Summary:
Meatball Pizza - 12.95
Veggie melt - 11.95
Creme Brulee - 3.95
Brownie - 2.95
2 Fountain Drinks - 4.50
Total w/ tax: 38.66 (yes sir, I believe we did get a good deal, there)

Wolfgang Puck Express impressed me. This is counter service? It sure didn't feel like it, as runners give you the food on real (albiet hard plastic) plates with silverware. They also refill your drinks. We left a couple dollars. We will definitely be back. And you should go to!

http://i333.photobucket.com/albums/m388/scohen66/September/IMG_2610.jpg
In Dustin's own words: I got it dipped in milk chocolate, covered in rainbow sprinkles (taste the rainbow), and drizzled in white chocolate.
Sarah's Edit: It took him all week to eat this. For some reason, he can eat the marshmellow stick in one sitting, but not the big rice crispy treat. Oh wellz. It made me envious as I watched him in bug-eyed delight. He also got crumbs and candy pieces all over the floor, which I, practicing my future wifely duties, crawled around after him getting the pieces that he so ignored. :lovestruc

Awesome pictures. We enjoyed Mara when we stayed at AKL. Only problem was our room was way way far away. We ended up renting a pool ocker one day to keep or refillable mugs so that we didn't have to go back to the room to get them after we had been to the parks.
Looking forward to more.

My First Plate (aww, isn't that cute... doesn't that sound like a pre-school product?)
http://i333.photobucket.com/albums/m388/scohen66/September/IMG_2655.jpg
http://i333.photobucket.com/albums/m388/scohen66/September/IMG_2656.jpg
Everything here was delicious. While they did not have my favorite soup (Carrot Ginger), they did have a super decent butternut squash that tasted like Christmas and Thanksgiving. It's a familiar and supremely comforting feeling. Then there are some hummus--some of the best I have ever had. Also a regular salad--meh, salad--and corn with plaintain salad which was sweet and excellent.
Dustin's First Plate (tee-hee!)
http://i333.photobucket.com/albums/m388/scohen66/September/IMG_2658.jpg
Dustin: The prime rib was very tender (although kinda fatty) and tasted like meat. The fu-fu smooth and tasty, and the potatoes spicy and nice.
Sarah's edit: It took him at least 15 minutes to even get this plate. There was a line for the meats that rolled around half of the restaurant. I ended up giving him evil stink-eye stares that showed my impatience and hopefully, in some way or another, cosmically speeded up the long line. Also, I noticed that this time there wasn't anyone carving the meats. There was just a plate of prime rib and pork out that you had to pick out for yourself. Cost cutting?
My Second Plate
http://i333.photobucket.com/albums/m388/scohen66/September/IMG_2662.jpg
Some wonderfully creamy macaroni and cheese, zesty soft potatoes, okay mealie bread (tasted like cornbread), delicious pap and sheeba, dry and overcooked falafel, and okay cous cous with vegetables (I can make better, but thats just me).
Dustin's Second Plate
http://i333.photobucket.com/albums/m388/scohen66/September/IMG_2659.jpg
Dustin liked the chicken nuggets the best out of this plate. He said they were very fresh and hot. I think he was disappointed that there wasn't any nut crusted salmon but instead a mustard salmon. Keep in mind, the only condiment that is okay in Dustin's "book" is ketchup--never mustard in any color or form.
My Third (!!:scared: ) Plate
http://i333.photobucket.com/albums/m388/scohen66/September/IMG_2663.jpg
Oh come on, its only a little bit! When at a Boma buffet, one must try... try and graze and sample the lovely offerings! So here is "Boma's mustard salmon" which was okay, a little dry and overcooked, weird taste that I didn't like, and not at ALL like their nut-crusted salmon which Dustin and I so fawn over. Some more pap and sheeba, some curried pasta salad which was insanely tasty, and cous cous for Dustin to sample.
My Desserts
http://i333.photobucket.com/albums/m388/scohen66/September/IMG_2667.jpg
Here we have a sinfully good, extremely rich and creamy, and the best dessert of the trip (for me, at least): pineapple upside down cheescake. You must try this at Boma. Also, there is hard and tasteless plaintain, dense flourless chocolate cake, bland blueberry fruit tartlett, and creamy sweet cheese flan.
Dustin's Desserts
http://i333.photobucket.com/albums/m388/scohen66/September/IMG_2669.jpg
In Dustin's own words: The desserts were excellent. I was full, but still wanted--no wait, I had to--have some more to eat. The zebra domes, even the one upside down, were the best.
Sarah's Edit: I think he liked the mousse too, but he is a clamshell when it comes to describing what he ate. :)

Boma was slightly disappointing this time around. Last few times we were fortunate on going on a Saturday--which apparantly is good for us, because that is when they offer carrot ginger soup, more interesting salads, carved pork, and nut-crusted salmon. Basically, it wasn't that the food was bad, which it certainly was not, but that all of our favorites were not there and instead replaced with something that wasn't to our exact tastes. Again, not their faults, just ours in planning. By the way, we went on a Friday. Also, the service was excellent--our drinks (diet cokes) were never low, and the table was always cleared. Very professional and sincere service.

Hey Nicki! 4:45 should be fine. Later on during the week we took the free culinary tour at Jiko and Boma (yes, you get some free food and it is held almost daily--make sure you find out on check in when and where the tour starts) and our tour ended in Boma as they were opening. It eventually ended around 4:45 and it was still fairly empty inside.
Also keep in mind that lines in Boma are trends. It usually starts at the top of the hour and lasts until 20 minutes past. We noticed that as we left that it started getting crowded around 6 and thinned out as we left around 6:20.
But anyway, lucky you--you're going on a Saturday! My favorite day.. yumm.

I'm considering taking my daughter to Disney in January and she is a lactose-intolerant vegetarian....although she considers herself vegan since last summer. Hahhaa. There is no football stadium! Its not even being built right now, just in the planning stages. Apparantly it will be on the north end of the Boca campus. Anyway... thank you for reading!
Excellent:thumbsup2
Thank you for reading! :goodvibes
Thanks for the great reviews.
I'm considering taking my daughter to Disney in January and she is a lactose-intolerant vegetarian....although she considers herself vegan since last summer. I'm a little worried about what she'll be able to eat this round (seems it's hard to avoid cheese!) so I'm always interested in reviews with regard to special dietary needs.
I did google pescetarianism and my niece is a pescetarian although I didn't know there was a name for it. ;)
Now I'm sweating my Tuesday Boma ADR and thinking maybe Saturday would be better?
Glad that I can be of some help. My eating habits at WDW definitely show that one can eat well as a pescetarian  .
Well, they also have the same items on Wednesday, as I spoke to the chef while we did the free culinary tour and he said that Saturday's and Wednesdays are the nights for our favorites.
But, if you haven't been to Boma before, I wouldn't worry too much about finding things that you like. You might find favorites on your Tuesday dinner that we didn't!

TONY'S TOWN SQUARE LUNCH
from, Day 2, September 6th
Reservation Time: 12:15 PM
Server: Daniel
Situation: Magic Kingdom's dining is limited. So limited that we were forced to try Tony's a couple trips ago. Well, believe it or not, we LIKED it. We REALLY liked it. Perhaps because it has the best pizza that Dustin has ever had, and he is a pizza lover since he grew up on watching Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (Michelangelo....). Okay I am rambling now. Just enjoy. :)

See how empty it was? We didn't even need a reservation!

Hey! An embarrassment opportunity!
http://i333.photobucket.com/albums/m388/scohen66/September/IMG_2745.jpg
Mine is not that far behind....
Calamari (tossed with olive relish and served with a side of marinara sauce)
http://i333.photobucket.com/albums/m388/scohen66/September/IMG_2747.jpg
Isn't that the look of fried calamari perfection? It definitely was perfect. Fresh and hot calamari with a lightly fried breading. Not very greasy and had an interesting flavor with the relish. Plus, it was easy to split--Dustin had the non-relish ones while I savored the relished.
Bianca Flatbread (blend of five cheeses, garlic, basil, and oregano)
http://i333.photobucket.com/albums/m388/scohen66/September/IMG_2749.jpg
Dustin's: (insert Homer's famous donut loving moan)
http://i333.photobucket.com/albums/m388/scohen66/September/IMG_2750.jpg
It is SO good! The cheeses, the garlic, and the soft and chewy flatbread all amount to a wonderful white pizza. However... it wasn't as good as last couple times! It was just slightly more greasy and had less ricotta. But still delicious.
Summary:
(We paid this one OOP and used the DDE)
Time Stamped on Reciept: 12:58 (quick lunch, eh?)
Calamari: 9.49
2 Bianca Flatbreads: 23.98
2 Diet cokes: 4.58
Total w/DDE discount + auto grat: 39.27
Our server was very efficient and friendly. He chit-chatted with us inbetween courses, and never let us have an empty glass. Great. The food was nice, although the flatbread was better last time (I love a LOT of ricotta cheese), but still simply fantastic. I have had their eggplant before and it was good as well, but I am not sure about their dinner offerings. I just know that their flatbreads rock. :thumbsup2
Later today: 'Ohana dinner.

We tried Tony's too (last minute) on our last trip and loved it!!! I think it's highly underrated which is fine by me; keeps the riff raff out. :rotfl2: Our server was efficient, we had a wonderful table by the Lady fountain, and the food was good. :thumbsup2 It's on our possible duplicate list for our next trip. I was attempting to try all new TS but why mess with happiness? :cloud9:

I think going to the same place the next trip is great, except when you go to it over and over again every trip (like what we did this time with Tony's). We still enjoy it so much, but changing it up every now and then is fun too!

I have always wanted to give Tony's a try, but I have always changed my mind, mostly because I see lots of bad reviews for it. However, your review sounds great, and the food looks delicious!!!! I may have to cave in and give it a try. That is if I could decide which ADR I am willing to give up for it..lol

We've only been once so May 2009 will be our 2nd trip. The three I would like to enjoy again are Cal Grill, Tony's, and 'Ohana for dinner. I am looking forward to trying Chef's, Le Cellier, Marrakesh, and Crystal Palace. Raglan Road was also really good, great bar, and the boys want to try the T-Rex Cafe which we'll do. Beaches and Cream also looks SO good. :cloud9:

Reservation Time: 6:30 PM

"WELCOME" BREAD
http://i333.photobucket.com/albums/m388/scohen66/September/IMG_2789.jpg
The hostess picked this up at the big ol' fire pit before leading us to our table. This was amazing. Hot, fresh, and filled with bits of pineapple. Even Dustin loved it. We stupidly ate the whole thing.
http://i333.photobucket.com/albums/m388/scohen66/September/IMG_2790.jpg
http://i333.photobucket.com/albums/m388/scohen66/September/IMG_2791.jpg
It was early on when the entertainment started by this lovely woman. She set the mood for the rest of our dinner.
SAUCES (Peanut, Harissa, and Chimi Churri) AND SALAD (with honey-lime vinaigrette)
http://i333.photobucket.com/albums/m388/scohen66/September/IMG_2794.jpg
http://i333.photobucket.com/albums/m388/scohen66/September/IMG_2793.jpg
http://i333.photobucket.com/albums/m388/scohen66/September/IMG_2797.jpg
My favorite was the peanut, while Dustin's was the chimi churri. We weren't too particular for the harissa, but it wasn't bad, just kind of bland. The salad was absolutely lovely. That vinaigrette! What do they put in there? Liquid gold? Wonderful. And Dustin of course, didn't have it. ;)
PORK DUMPLINGS
http://i333.photobucket.com/albums/m388/scohen66/September/IMG_2798.jpg
I didn't have any of these, but Dustin remarked later that this was his favorite part of the meal. He said it had a juicy inside and an interesting sweet sauce ontop. Even so, I think he ate only 4 of these because of the sheer abundance of the food.
STICKY WINGS
http://i333.photobucket.com/albums/m388/scohen66/September/IMG_2801.jpg
Dustin liked these as well, if not just a tad bit too messy. We didn't get any wet wipes or hot towels until later on in the meal.
STIR-FRIED BROCCOLI AND PEA PODS
http://i333.photobucket.com/albums/m388/scohen66/September/IMG_2802.jpg
These were okay. I like my vegetables a bit softer, and for some reason, they just tasted like steamed veggies. I think next time I will ask for no vegetables as they somewhat went to waste.
UDON NOODLES
http://i333.photobucket.com/albums/m388/scohen66/September/IMG_2806.jpg
Tasted like a perfect lo mein. These aren't the udon noodles that I am used to, they are of the thinner variety. However, the taste itself was dense, rich, and somewhat addicting, even. We polished this off.
STIR-FRIED TOFU
http://i333.photobucket.com/albums/m388/scohen66/September/IMG_2807.jpg
After I told Pedro that I was a pescetarian, he offered the vegetarian dish of noodles and tofu, but I knew better about the amounts of food offered. Therefore, we simplified the matter by coming to a middle ground--just the tofu, please. It was fine... tofu, yeah.
SHRIMP
http://i333.photobucket.com/albums/m388/scohen66/September/IMG_2808.jpg
I was given TWO WHOLE skewers of shrimp! And it was against my will! Pedro just gave it to me, then said, "I don't care if you interject, as this is the only meat you will eat here." I have to say, even though you have to peel them, the flavor of these beauties were amazing. And they were large, too! Not small at all. And great quality. I loved these dipped in the peanut sauce.
STEAK, PORK, AND TURKEY
http://i333.photobucket.com/albums/m388/scohen66/September/IMG_2811.jpg
Dustin really enjoyed these. He said his favorite was the steak with the chimi churri sauce. Said it was an interesting zing that really complemented each other. The pork pieces were HUGE and the turkey was just two small medalions, but that made it easier to stuff down, he said.
http://i333.photobucket.com/albums/m388/scohen66/September/IMG_2812.jpg
By this time, the entertainer-woman was making her last round with her songs, and we were completely beaten with food.
http://i333.photobucket.com/albums/m388/scohen66/September/IMG_2816.jpg
http://i333.photobucket.com/albums/m388/scohen66/September/IMG_2815.jpg
See how that is?
BREAD PUDDING WITH BANANA FOSTER SAUCE AND VANILLA ICE CREAM
http://i333.photobucket.com/albums/m388/scohen66/September/IMG_2819.jpg
Lived up to its hype. Hot, steamy (:scared: ), yet cool from the ice cream, and tasted like a fine dense spice cake. I know, strange description, but it was very very good. Heck, even the vanilla ice cream tasted premium. Oh, and I ate the offending banana pieces for Dustin. ;)

Everything here screamed quality. You know that saying, quality over quantity? Well at 'Ohana, you get the best of both worlds. Pedro was a complete ham--he joked with us inbetween courses, made funny comments, and was absolutely wonderful with the plates and drinks. I have to say though, next time I will request a seat in the main room as the entertainment really interested me. I just wish I saw most of it. But anyway, 'Ohana was a truly soothing, fun, and delicious experience.

OK ... now before I go get some exercise in, is the backscratcher a better drink than the lapu lapu? I've not tried either but admit to being fond of the idea of drinking booze out of a hollowed out pineapple even though I don't like pineapples. Now that I think about it ... that doesn't make much sense, does it? Does a lapu lapu taste like pineapple? Because if it does I think I need a new drink suggestion.

THE MARA
from, Day 3, September 7th
Time on Receipt: 7:12 AM
Cast Member: Kamar (sweet girl, helped us out throughout the week)
Situation: Yes, the time is ungodly early. However, I was surprising Dustin this day for breakfast on the balcony for animal watching. Oh and trying to go to your room with a full tray of food is hard! Especially when no one wants to open the door for you... even if you look pathetic with a turn-downed lip and groan out load when you approach the door. Nope, said man just walks on in without holding the door.
Review:
MICKEY WAFFLE WITH SAUSAGE
http://i333.photobucket.com/albums/m388/scohen66/September/IMG_2853.jpg
Dustin: It was somewhat coldish when I ate it, but that was not my fault as Sarah had to travel far and away for it. The sausage was pretty good dunked in the maple syrup.
BOUNTY PLATTER
http://i333.photobucket.com/albums/m388/scohen66/September/IMG_2852.jpg
The cast members looked thoroughly confused when I asked for no meat and extra waffle. They tried giving me one that was already prepared and the meat was just taken off. Meeh nooo, please, I don't want the juices. Everything was good about it though. No big complaints, except the eggs this time were somewhat hard. Good mickey waffles though.
Summary:
Bounty Platter: 8.29
2 soy milk: I think 2.39 each, so 4.78
Total w/ tax: 13.85

OOP---
Waffle with Meat: 5.69
Total w/ tax: 6.06
Everything was smooth, and it was practically empty. The Mara really became an integral part of our vacation.
KRINGLA BAKERI OG CAFE
from, Day 3, September 7th
Time on Receipt: 12:25 PM
Cast Member: Ida
Situation: Well Epcot touring sure makes you hungry, no? Especially after speed walking to Soarin', then Test Track, then Mission: Space. Oy vey. We were pretty hungry by the time we reached Mexico, but I trudged along with Dustin knowing what lies ahead one country beyond...

http://i333.photobucket.com/albums/m388/scohen66/September/IMG_2913.jpg
How can one choose? Oh and do they look at you expectantly--practically forcing you to make a choice right then and there! For me that was easy... for Dustin, not so much.
GOURMET SALMON SANDWICH
http://i333.photobucket.com/albums/m388/scohen66/September/IMG_2914.jpg
We both got this. A year ago this was on a long piece of bread, open-faced, this time it was on a hardish crusty bread. It was still good though. For those of you who do not know, it is quite a strange sandwich. Smoked salmon, scrambled eggs, butter (oh man do the people from Norway love butter), lettuce, and tomato (which Dustin happily offered to me). It is so very good and so very fattening.
SUGAR FREE CHOCOLATE MOUSSE
http://i333.photobucket.com/albums/m388/scohen66/September/IMG_2920.jpg
Dustin: This is sugar free? Didn't taste like it! Good.
Sarah's edit: It was very rich and dense. Did not have the gross aftertaste that sugar free desserts usualy have.
SCHOOL BREAD
http://i333.photobucket.com/albums/m388/scohen66/September/IMG_2919.jpg
http://i333.photobucket.com/albums/m388/scohen66/September/IMG_2926.jpg
I got this on the advise of these boards, and I must say, it was very nice. The bread part itself was somewhat dry, but the inside was very sweet and rich... yet light almost. Very good.
Summary:
Chocolate Mousse: 3.59
2 Salmon Sandwich: 15.98
School bread: 2.49
2 Regular Diet Cokes: 4.18
Total w/ tax: 27.81

We love Kringla for lunch. It is so underrated too. Everyone we saw was either eating desserts or snacks, not a full lunch. But anways, next time you are there, try it out, you might like their offerings!
SNACKS!!!
from, Day 3, September 7th
Time on Receipts: 1:02 PM, 5:51 PM
Cast Member: Katja, Gilbert
Situation: The best part of Epcot is all of the food offerings. Unfortunately, the amount of our bounty was quite disappointing this time around. We usually eat so much more than this! Hah! Hah... yeah, okay. We are piggies.

PRETZEL FROM GERMANY
http://i333.photobucket.com/albums/m388/scohen66/September/IMG_2942.jpg
Oh goodness, the perfect pretzel! So soft and crispy, with hard salt and very warm. Maybe I am the odd person out, but Auntie Anne's leaves a lot to be desired compared to this beauty.

TROPICAL SMOOTHIE
http://i333.photobucket.com/albums/m388/scohen66/September/IMG_2954.jpg
This was from the Fife and Drum stand in America. It was okay. Somewhat watery and weak tasting. But fine when it is hot out. We were cranky.

CAPPUCINO SMOOTHIE
http://i333.photobucket.com/albums/m388/scohen66/September/IMG_2955.jpg
Looks like Dustin was thirsty, hot, and cranky too. His was better than mine (boo! hiss!), but he accidentally paid with his credit card instead of the dining plan. I guess we were that delirious.

CANDY FROM MIYUKI
http://i333.photobucket.com/albums/m388/scohen66/September/IMG_2961.jpg
Lookie! Its a rabbit! So adorable. She is very mesmerizing to watch! And this time we were on a hunt to get candy from her. Why so determined? Well... the first time we were chosen, we lost the candy. The second time--it broke to a smashing million pieces and we had to throw it away. This time... we ate it!
Candy: Free!

What did it taste like? Does it just taste like sugar or does it have a different flavor? I have always wondered what the candy tastes like.

You know, it tasted like a mellow lollipop. It didn't have a discernable taste to it. Not like orange or cherry and the like. More like an unflavored rock candy. Make any sense? LOL I am not sure if I do :rotfl2:

Thank you for reading! We got the smoothie from the Fife and Drum kiosk in America. Its the one thats to the left of the Funnel Cakes.

quixoticvalue, I have a question for you about Tony's. We have an adr for a dinner at Tony's in Nov. I notice they don't have the bianca flatbread on the dinner menu they have listed at allears but do you know if they can or will make it for dinner if you request it? Also, has your boyfriend had the spaghetti and meatballs there? Wondering how the meatballs were, great or bland and boring? Spag. and sweet sausage?
Thanks for the detailed reviews, appreciate it! You're a great writer and it's fun to read your reviews! :goodvibes

Hi Minniekins! Why... thank you so much for the compliments! :wizard:
'Kay about Tony's. Well... we've only gone to Tony's for lunch, never dinner. And I suppose our reasoning to this is that we love the flatbread! If you ask, it wont hurt, since they can either tell you yes (woo hoo!) or no and won't look at you strange (:3dglasses ). We've never had the spaghetti and meatballs there, but I have seen it in person and it looks huge. They give you at least three big sized meatballs. I have had their spaghetti with an eggplant parmesan before, and it was good, al dente. Good luck for you when you go though... the flatbread sure is tasty. :cloud9:

KONA ISLAND SUSHI BAR
Thanks for the pics from here. Did you notice if they do plain sashimi or nigiri in addition to the rolls. Sometimes rolls are nice but when I want sushi, I'm usually craving sashimi.
OK ... now before I go get some exercise in, is the backscratcher a better drink than the lapu lapu? I've not tried either but admit to being fond of the idea of drinking booze out of a hollowed out pineapple even though I don't like pineapples. Now that I think about it ... that doesn't make much sense, does it? Does a lapu lapu taste like pineapple? Because if it does I think I need a new drink suggestion.
Help me! :lmao:
Sorry for responding to Brenda on your DR but I had an answer about the Lapu Lapu. It was VERY fruity in a "you're going to down this in two seconds because it tastes like fruit juice and will become quickly inebriated due to the copious amounts of rum" way but it didn't really taste like pineapple. It was very fun to drink but that pineapple was heavy! The refills come in cute glasses and they are much better.
Enjoying the reviews. Thanks for sharing!

Oh, your welcome! Well, I think I'll probably have the spaghetti and meatballs, I read in another thread too, the meatballs are great! Sounds yummy, but I'm going to ask about the bianca flatbread just in case. (is it very garlicky, or just a little?) Of course, that gives me another decision to make if they say yes!

Thank you for reading!! 1) Oh yes, he really enjoyed that treat!:thumbsup2
2) Unfortunately, they didn't have nigiri, but they do have sashimi, just three kinds combined on a plate. I believe I read it on allearsnet, but I didn't see it when I was there.
3) Thank you for telling your experience with the Lapu Lapu! Oh boy, that would make me pass out!

Ah well, it is quite garlicky, but not as bad as like... a garlic roll or a garlic texas toast. More like faint, but still definitely there.
