I am trying to run some numbers and wondering what the discount on the room is with this free dining promo that is coming out.
I am waiting for it to become a GP code but trying to get everything sorted out first.

corrected
It seems there's a 20% on the room, at least for values. I was pricing this out last night and for those based on the sample. Now, a) noone would know until later what would it be for a mod.

ZERO - You'll be paying RACK rate on the room. Best way to run your numbers is plan a package without any promos on it, with the MYW the way you want it, but with no dining. With tomorrow's code, dining will be free.
The recent Pin Code Free Dining was NOT RACK RATE!! Perhaps this one tomorrow will be though, but how does anyone know this yet. My Free Dining..pin code package saved me about $30 off per night on the Pop room as well.

Oops! Here is the correct info:
There IS a room discount with the Disney Visa Free Dining offer. The sample price is $1253. When I *correctly* priced out the same package, it was $1,320.42!
Ignore what I wrote below.
The Disney Visa Free Dining offer does not seem to have a room discount -- at least nothing significant.
The offer on the Disney Visa site gives a price of $1253 for a family of 4 (2 adults, 1 junior, 1 child) for 4 nights/5 days at a Value resort during specific dates.
I just priced out the same package on DisneyWorld.com and it was $1262.82. So any discount beyond the free dining is minimal.

I just phoned and I had GREAT CM that looked everything up for me, she said (if she is right) the VISA code will be 20% off rack + free dining.
How much is a one day ticket I forget. stuck in number crunching mode...

I found out the cost of a one day ticket and booking with this is not worthwhile to us, it would be 660.27 over what we are paying now because of having to buy the tickets if is was not for that then it would be ok but not with the $453.72 cost of the tickets for the one day.

I made a mistake above. I accidentally ran my "sample" package for 3 nights instead of 4. So I believe 20% off the room rate is about right. What a deal!

Well, here is a comparison for you. I am there 12/20-12/29, at POP. I am paying, with the Free Dining Pin Code $1352.59. That is with one day base tickets for 2 adults and 2 kids (5 and 8).
The rack rate for ROOM ONLY is $1345.83. So, I am paying $6.76 for 4 one day base tickets basically. They are worth about $279.04 though!! They will go towards our new APs!
We are saving $276.80 over the rack rate of a 9 night package with one day base tickets for our family. Divide that by 9 and it is 30.76 per night roughly. $149.54 is the rack rate average per night.
Looks about 20% off per night to me!

Hey did you already have your ressie before you got your pin?
I am debating about calling today and adding a day. Currently I have a ressie beginning on the 21st. If I can get FD starting on the 20th then would it be to my interest to go ahead today and make the change? Would they more likely give me the FD if I already have the 20th booked? Currently have Dec 21-27 room only booked.

We were actually booked at AKV, with our DVC points...12/21-12/26. Then we were moving to BWInn until January 2nd.
This deal was too good to pass up though, we are saving about $1300, not to mention our DVC points, which we now need for our June 09 trip...with a HUGE group of our family.
Like you are considering, we are going a day early because of it.
I think i would add the 20th to your ressie now. That way you have the room blocked for that night and you don't have to worry about the person in line on the phone ahead of you taking that last room.
NOW, that won't help you get the discount really, it is there or it isn't.

Does anyone know if this will be available at just the value resorts or the moderates and/or deluxes as well? Just when I think I've got our reservations all figured out, another new code we can use for our dates comes along ...

Current Discounted GA/FL Room Rate 12/14 to 12/19 at CR GW Standard View
$1181.25 or $236.25/night or $210/night before tax
Rack Rate
$1518.75 or $303.75/night or $270/night before tax
20% off of Rack
$1215 or $243/night or $216/night before tax
DDP cost per person per day
$37.99 + tax = $40.46 ($202.30 per person each over the 5 nights)
Cost of a 1 day MYW Ticket per person
$79.88 with tax
Potential Savings for MIL
$243/night x 5 nights = $1215 + $79.88 = $1294.88 The room itself is $33.75 more over the 5 days, but subtract out the cost of the DDP and this....saves my MIL $168.55!
Potential Savings for Lindy & Corey
$243/night x 5 nights = $1215 + 159.76 = $1374.76 The room itself is $33.75 more over the 5 days, but subtract out the cost of the DDP and this....saves us $370.85!
The extra tickets are all going to be left overs, so I can use them to go on a solo trip for cheap next year!
