DS Twin needs neurosurgery tomorrow - **UPDAT POST OP & PIC**

Hi everyone

POST OP + Pic.

He came around about 2:30pm we were called to recovery to see him.
He was crying poor chap, but then I'm sure I would if someone had split my head open.

He is doing well so far.
He needed a 50% blood transfusion, but the overall operation went well.
He has in over five lines for fluids and pain relief etc.

James is staying with him over night, while I have the girls at home.
It's going to be a bit touch and go as there sometimes can be a delayed bleed and also that he has accepted the transfusion
He is finding it difficult to open his eyes, due to all the swelling and brusing we can see coming up, but he did manage a little smile late this evening.

He's on High dependancy and I can't wait to do the school run and go back to see him.

I can't imagine how you must all be feeling, my youngest is 5 months and I know I would be worried sick.
I have a lump in my throat just writing this. Stay positive and have faith in the medical team I will keep everything crossed for you.

Got the letter this morning to confirm the 30th and that we will definately be first on the table.
So just trying to enjoy ourselves until then and make the most of the weather.

I was just about to come on and update.
We had pre operation clarking today, they took some more bloods and did basic observations.
All is set for tomorrow, the anesthetist came to see us and go over the proceedure today.
High Dependancy was free so we had a quick look around, very much like the special care baby unit we were on when they were born.

I will update when I can, Snowygirls - Michelle will update for me if I don't get a chance - thanks Michelle.

Got to go pack the hospital bags and geta feed ready for at 3am before nil by mouth! so bed early tonight.

Hi all.
We are at home, we took him to the theatre at 9am and we were able to hold him while they gave him gas to send him off, in typical William style he sat on James knee as they did it and smiled!
It's 12:50pm now and we are waiting for the surgeon to call so we can go back and be there for him in recovery. (Never jumped at the phone ringing, so much in my life!)
The hospital is only 5 minutes down the road and the staff thought it was better to go home and see Isabelle, rather than sit at the hospital worrying and jumping everytime a nurse comes near.

Hopefully I'll have an update for you later.
