Is there a special number to call?

The webpage says: Call 407-939-7635 or your travel agent. Ask for offer QXZ.

I called once, the CM didn't know about it. Called back again, and this CM knew about it. Webpage is:

I just called and the CM said it was not a valid code. I tried to argue with him and then decided I would call back in a little while.

I will keep trying.

The third time I called I finally got a nice CM who actually tried to help. Instead of just saying the code wasn't in their system and getting off the phone, she called her supervisor. They had me print out the page with the code/information and fax it to her. She's supposed to be calling me back once she figures it all out. I'll let you all know what I find out! :scared:

HI, also just got off the phone with very nice cm who told me the code was actually released on the website before they received the info. It is a valid code, just not in their system yet and hopefully later today or tomorrow it should work. Here's hoping for some magic! Good Luck!

I called back and got a nice CM. She looked into it and what she found is that they can book this tomorrow, September 18th.

I'm going to watch this thread to see if anyone is successful today.

So while I have some time, let me try and get this straight.
I am calling to use the code for 2 trips I have. The first is Oct. 4th - 11th, which falls under all the dates listed, so that should be easy.

The second trip is Dec. 18th - 22nd. The offer is good through Dec. 20th. So will I have to change my reservation to two separate reservations, one for Dec. 18th - 20th and one for Dec. 20th - 22nd? I would get the 5 day base tickets with the first reservation so it would be a package deal, and then just do room only for the second part of the trip?
Now that I think about it even more, I don't know if I would be able to use the code at all for the second trip, because the first part would only be 3 days and 2 nights...man, I am confusing myself.
I wish they had made the offer good through Dec. 23rd, then I would be set!

Funny, I saw this on the VISA website last night, but it was after the call hours. Strange that they cannot get their timing worked out. The dates were outside my range, but I called to check anyways. I'd just keep calling all day.... like we don't have anything better to do.....

You will end up with 2 reservations on the Dec one if you can get the dining. The offer didn't say the minimum number of days but for other FD offers it's usually 3 days. I would check it out. It can't hurt. I'm waiting since we are currently staying from Sept 26-Oct with 2 AP discounts due to overlap of our vacation and the codes for AP. (that's why I know you will end up with 2 res. ) The second res. begins on the 28th so maybe the free dining will save us more if we can just get the 1 day pass since we alreadly have the AP. Good luck with your reservations! Also, just make sure the free dining offer is better overall considering the rates you now have. I have found that the Free dining is the best deal when you have a Value resort since you have to pay rack rate. With Deluxe resorts, sometimes the room discount is a better deal.

After running the numbers, it looks like for our December trip it will be better just to keep what I have and pay for food out of pocket. I currently have the reservation for POP Century, Dec. 18th - 22nd, 2 adults and 1 child (16), 5 day base tickets for $911.
If I did 2 reservations, the one for Dec. 18th - 20th with 5 day base tickets and free dining, that would cost $940 (I guess no package deal, not long enough). The rom for Dec. 20th - 22nd would be $302. The total for that method would be $1242. The difference is about $330. If I price out what our ADRs and CS choices are, we wouldn't actually spend that much on food for those 3 days.
I am going to try though and keep my fingers crossed for the Oct. trip - that could save a lot.

Hi I'm posting this here also - Someone maybe able to help me :goodvibes

I have some questions:
1- Those that booked at the discount (general public) pin code recently and did this code instead - did you save any money?
2- Is it good for only 4 nights? we are booked for 5 nights.
3- I went through a TA to book can I call disney to apply the code or does she have to?

Thanks so much!

1. You can not combine two discounts - it's one or the other. The QXD code that came out saved us about $600.00. This free dining QXZ will save about $1,500.00.
2. The sample package listed is just that, a sample. You should be able to call and just apply the code to your existing reservations. With the email fd pin code they would let you book past the last date listed (12/20), but not before 12/14.
3. You TA owns your reservation, I think she will have to call and make any changes to your reservation. I'm sure someone will correct me if that's wrong.

Another accounting question, please?

I currently have an Oct. package booked and paid for with my AMEX. Is it possible to apply the code to my package and then have them reverse the charges to my Disney Visa or is that not possible?
If the above scenario is not possible - I could cancel my current package and rebook with the code but I think I'll be subject to the $100 cancellation fee - right?

Just when I thought I had our vacation all settled - here we go again with more planning options - but isn't it fun in a strange sort of way?

I just got off the phone with reservations and the pin code that I received would actually make me pay $100 more!!! =( And since I was on the phone with them already, I tried using the QXZ code for Disney Visa free dining and she did not know anything about it yet and said it was invalid..... so I am definitely trying back tomorrow about that code! However, can't you just figure out through the Disney web site how much your package will cost without the dining? I used the QXD code when it came out and saved over $500 but I think I will only save $12 using the QXZ Visa code, staying at CSR.... how did you save over $1500 Princess Tiffany??!!!! Is it because you are staying at a deluxe? Oh wait, it's probably because there are more people in your party going!! =)

The exact amount it is saving us is $1,638.00 and we have two rooms booked at Pop Century.

We are staying for 9 nights - December 13 - 22. We have 4 children and we are also taking my MIL. One of our children is over 10 so we have 4 Disney Adults going and 3 children for a total of 7 people. The cost of the dinining plan for the 7 of us for 9 nights is $1,638.00. With the free dining code applied to our package, that is where the savings comes from.

Princess Tiffany- Will you be able to get the discount for your first night, Dec 13? In the list of dates for the code, it says Dec 14-20. We're staying Dec 13-18, I'm hoping it's possible to get the discount for our entire stay. :yay:

If not, will we need to book our first night at rack rate and get the discount on the other nights?:confused3

Thanks for any info you can provide and congrats on your fantastic savings!!!:dance3:

Princess Tiffany:

May I ask you a question? Was your original reservation booked using a code? In other words, were you getting a discount on your two rooms at Pop Century. If so, won't the cost of your two rooms go up to rack rate if you take the Free Dining deal, reducing the savings?

Thanks.

This would be great for us, if we can find availability at CR, yet again. This would save us another $16 a night plus tax over what the GA resident room only code has provided. Fingers crossed for tomorrow!

That is what I was thinking - well not about Princess Tiffany's reservation, but about mine. lol
I have worked out the numbers though, and even though my room rate might or will go up, we'll still see a better savings by using the free dining code. I guess it just depends on each person's situation, resort they're booked at, number of people, etc.

Timon-n-Pumbaa Fan
09-17-2008, 12:18 PM
The Disney Visa Code will be great for us at CR, if we can get it and there are just 2 of us, both adults. The GA Resident Room only code is $210/night, which is $60 a night off of rack. With two adults on the DDP, the cost is $75.98/night. So, we would be paying rack rate on the room, but saving an additional $15.98 a night over what the room only code would have discounted us. That's another $80 plus tax of savings!

My MIL will be traveling with us. She has her own room and the FD code would not be a deal for her at all. She is saving more with AAA and the FL resident rate than what FD would cover. Plus, she eats like a bird, so the DDP would be a complete waste anyway.

Not everyone is going to find this to be a great deal, but a whole lot of people will.

So much for a quiet 3rd week in December. :sad2:

Folks - Remember that this new code implies RACK RATE hotel nights. Also, availability will be EXTREMLY low, as way too many pin codes have been released in the last month with the exact same dates and offers.

For those that booked with the GA code back then, you WILL save money if you had already opted for a dining plan back then. The reason is that the per night savings before was only on the hotel rate (about $50 for values and mods), which is much less than what the DP would cost. Your savigns should be that difference.

However, note that for those going in October you are already inside our 45 days. If you would want to apply this code and already had DP on your package, your total will be lower, but you'll be subject to the $50 change fee. If you did not have the DP on the package, your package price will go up, so no change fee should apply.

I'm going in the 1st week in Nov, so I can't take advantage of this offer (unless they published one thing and in the computer they have something else - what happened with the GA code in late Dec. for example).

Since we are booked for the 13-19th at WL AAA room only I wonder if we switched if we would have to do 2 seperate reservations? one for the 13 and one for the 14-19th? That would make us not be able to go to the parks on the 13th as we would have to buy a 1 day ticket and of course we would not do that. Also, we currently have standard booked and those are full so we would have to move up to woods or courtyard which would be more. I guess the only way it would work for us is if they will let us use the code beginning the 13th.

The code will only apply to dates 12/14 to 12/19 of your vacation, if there is any availability. You would have to change your ressie on the 13th to a one night deal and then drop another deposit for the FD package from the 14th to the 19th.

My MIL is a great example of multiple ressies. She has 3 right now. One for 12/10 at the FL resident rate, one for 12/11 to 12/14 at the AAA rate, and one for 12/14 to 12/19 at the FL resident rate. All 3 have a separate deposit attached.

With the new GA resident code dropping last night, I was able to keep the AAA rate on our 12/10 to 12/14 nights and from 12/14 to 12/19, I was able to book the GA resident rate, but I did have to put down another deposit for that ressie too.

Good luck!

I just used the FD Pin Code and got three rooms. Two of them are for my friend and they check in the 18th for 9 nights 12/18-12/27. I check in the 20th, also for 9 nights...12/20-12/29. So, you just have to check in by the 20th!!! If the CM tells you otherwise, CALL BACK!

That is the downside to using one that works in an office. Home based ones work all the time. Office ones can too if they want to I guess. Do you have a way to contact her at home? Even when I worked in a storefront, I was still reachable at all times...we all were, we were trained that way.

This morning I talked to 3 CMs and finally a guest services manager (all were extremely nice). The manager told me the code would not even be in there system until tomorrow. Frustration?

I'm going on conf. Oct 11 to 16. I have a paid rez. Nov. 2 to 8. So I just asked my DW what if, we cancel our Nov trip and instead go Oct 8 to Oct 11, and then use my conf. rez. from 11th on. Course, I'm already under the 45 days, so I would incurr fees for changing this as it would be a few dollars cheaper.

She was ready to throw me under the bus, but wants a comparison of both options.

Since I have already booked and paid my deposit, if I call with a GP code, will I have to make a new reservation, or could they just "re-do" the one I have already?

I'm sure this has already been discussed, but TIA!

You should just be able to apply the code, but who knows, sometimes the CM will, sometimes not.

We have reservations for 12/6-12/13 so we don't fall in the dates. We do have a good AAA rate, but even at rack rate with free dining, I'd save about $300. I could move it to the next week, but I'm not sure I want to have to try to re-do all my ADRs. UGH!!! I'd love to be able to save a little more money. Decisions..... decisions.....

Usually with free dining you could do this. I don't know for sure about this but since there are scattered dates, you might have to be within them. tomorrow we will know.

I just read on Mousesavers that it seems the Visa offer does have a discount on the room of about 20% as well as free dining. I guess we will know tomorrow.

Sorry, just found the answer.

NO need to be sorry. I just hope I can apply the discount code to my existing reservation that starts the 28th! We have a 54/night AP rate but with the free dining and 20% it will be worth it.

With my PIN CODE FD, I was able to check in on the last possible day....12/20. We are there for 12 nights, but it would only allow me 9 nights. So we booked it. We will move to BWInn for the last three nights (which is New Years, so really worked out great for us).

I had first booked POR though, and was able to do 10 nights...12/20-12/30.

It is almost always..if not always, 3 days later that it comes out for the GP. BUT, the Visa usually comes out on Monday and the GP comes out on a Thursday (right?), so not sure if that means anything or not.

Well, again, I booked with the Pin Code one for 9 nights.

My very first booking though with this Pin Code was actually 12 nights (12/18-12/30) at POR. I only booked it starting the 18th, as that CM said I had to check in on the 18th or earlier.

Later, after doing some number crunching, I called and priced out the POP instead and she said I could check in on the 20th! Got that for 9 nights. Usually you can do 14 nights I think.

I would seriously doubt it is only 4 nights.

And I hope what Mousesavers is saying about the 20% of room on top of the free dining is true. It doesn't state that on the Disney site for Disney Visa discounts. If it is true, I just calculated it would save me approx $400!

That's usually how the free dining works I know. I was just curious as to how they are doing it since there a a lot of ranges to the PIN as well as the DisneyVisa code that's starting tomorrow. I guess they are letting you be there for Christmas but not New Years. I'm surprised that Christmas is included. Lucky you.

I will be here in the morning to read all of your success stories. I have a AAA ressie. I left her a message to call me in the morning. I know. I hope so as well since we have an AP rate for 54/night at music. If there isn't a discount the first 4 nights of my stay will be 82 and the last 2 99. It would be ok but then you have to buy the 1 day pass at least. It will be about 750 ( with no room discount) and it is now about 365 for room only. We do have the DDE card for dining as well so hopefully there will be the room discount.

Based on the sample prices they have for a value on those dates, it assumes the room rate at about $80 a night, so yes, a 20% off.

A sample MYW with base tix 5days/4 nights mid-week for 2A,1J,1C is currently 1329.62 at a value.

Of course, we'll have to figure out what becomes available though...

In the past you have not been able to use the promotion for check in's before the date the promotion starts. Usually you can check in on the last date of free dining and receive it for the full length of the stay (if there is room availability with the code)

It is definitely worth a call though. You could always book a room reservation for one night and then the package for the rest of the stay.

Current Discounted GA/FL Room Rate 12/14 to 12/19 at CR GW Standard View
$1181.25 or $236.25/night or $210/night before tax

Rack Rate
$1518.75 or $303.75/night or $270/night before tax

20% off of Rack
$1215 or $243/night or $216/night before tax

DDP cost per person per day
$37.99 + tax = $40.46 ($202.30 per person each over the 5 nights)

Cost of a 1 day MYW Ticket per person
$79.88 with tax

Potential Savings for MIL
$243/night x 5 nights = $1215 + $79.88 = $1294.88 The room itself is $33.75 more over the 5 days, but subtract out the cost of the DDP and this....saves my MIL $168.55!

Potential Savings for Lindy & Corey
$243/night x 5 nights = $1215 + 159.76 = $1374.76 The room itself is $33.75 more over the 5 days, but subtract out the cost of the DDP and this....saves us $370.85!

The extra tickets are all going to be left overs, so I can use them to go on a solo trip for cheap next year!

Yes, tickets can be seperated from a package before check in.

It's not a widely known process, so it may take some finagling to get it done. It also has to be done at Guest Relations at the parks. The resorts won't be able to do it.

If they tell you, at Guest Relations, that it can't be done, ask for a supervisor.

I got it!!! But I'm confused...

I had a WL courtyard view for 6 nights, 7 day park hopper with no water for 2 adults and 2 kids and the basic dining plan for $3239.48. That included the fall discount.

Now I've got the same thing with free dining and the total only went down to $2902.00. ???? Shouldn't it have gone down by the full amount of the dining plan for our family during that time? $540ish? The CM kept telling me that the fall code I had used had some discount on dining???

I've secured my dates and now I just need to get one more ADR. But I'm tempted to call back because I don't get how my savings were more. Not that I'm not thankful for what I got, of course but still...

Oh and one last mention. I only applied for my Disney Rewards Visa yesterday! I got instant approval through the Disney website and went ahead and paid off the balance of our vacation. This trip has been planned for months! Since I don't yet have the card in my hand to give the CM the number this morning, I wanted that payment on record. Family of 5 - two adults, one "disney adult", two children. 5 night/6 day at POR, 6 day MYW base tickets with dining package for $1,932.72. Looks like not quite a 10% discount off the room?? Rack rate (without dining) would have been $2,005, 20% off would have been $1,822.72.

The difference isn't worth it for me. This is what I had with the Fall Getaway Code:

2 Adults
Four nights at Yacht Club (standard room)
Four day Park Hoppers (no water)
Basic Dining Plan
Total: $2154.12

This is the price I got with Free Dining:

$2012.00 - A difference of $142. It isn't worth making the change for me because I would have to change my travel dates by one day and I like my original schedule better.

Bottom line -- Dining is free, no discount on the room.

GA Resident Discounted Room Rate at CR Garden Wing Standard View 12/14 to 12/19
$1181.25 or $236.25/night or $210/night before tax

DDP cost per person per day
$37.99 + tax = $40.46 X 2 = $80.92 x 5 = $404.60

Cost of a 1 day MYW Ticket per person
$79.88 with tax x 2 = $159.76

Total cost of current room discount with package extras added: $1745.61

Disney Visa FD Package Total: $1672.34

So, we saved another $73.27 take out the 12.5% tax and that's $64.11, which means the room rate dropped another $12.82 to $198 a night! That's about 26% off of the rack rate of $270 a night.

RR without ddp = $4131.97
my quote with free dining $4081.33
(not sure why these don't match up)

with 20% discount on the room and free dining plan i calculated the rate to be $3567.15

so it looks like free dining but no room discount

Bummer! Couldn't get FD deal at the Poly for Oct 9-13, even if we would have checked in and out on the 12th (that date is a block out):sad1:
Good luck to everyone else though!!

Well, it took over an hour, but I've finally gotten it done! I was on hold for 45 minutes!! I don't save as much as I thought because since I'm changing my dates to fit in the window, I run in to the "holiday" pricing. We have a GV room at GF, 7 day hopper and FREE DINING!! for $4082. I do save over $200 from the same package through AAA that I already had for the week before. There doesn't appear to be a discount on this room rate, just the free dining!

Good luck to everyone!!

Oh yeah! I sure hope this CM was right....waiting for that emailed confirmation, but I asked her about a dozen times, and she actually started sounding a little testy with having to repeat it....but she said "yes, 9 TS, 9 CS, 9Snacks on the FREE dining.....for 11/16 to 11/25!!! The way I was reading the code it only went through 11/22. SO I think I got to extend it.

Sadly, the other weeks of our trip are not offering the free dining, so I stuck with the AP rates I already had.

Pricing......I have an AP, but had to buy 1 day MYW tickets (no problem, I'll save them until our next trip and use them to upgrade to whatever we need or an AP....haven't planned that trip yet, lol). So, with having to buy the tickets I still paid $8 LESS than my AP rate AND I get free food all week. We weren't going to do the dining plan because of the cost for 3 "adults" but I had calculated that food for those 9 days would cost us $700-800 dollars, so in my mind that's what I've saved...oh yeah, and $8, lol.

PLUS....I've got three 1 days passes to use at a later date....and it will likely be after the price hike of August 2009, so I'm guessing we'll save a bit then. Of course, I'd much rather have had that $200+ in my bank account for the next year, but can't imagine I'd have earned $700 on it, lol. SO I'm good.

Just to give everyone plenty of info to compare. I called first thing this morning and was only on hold about 4 minutes. CM was super nice and helpful!

I have Pop Century booked for Dec. 18th - Dec. 22nd, 3 adults. (Well one of us is 16, so I don't know what she counts as adult/junior/child??). Anyway, standard room, 5 day base tickets, and now with free dining the total is $1115.
When I had the fall discount it was $911, so the total went up $200 but well worth it because of the ADRs I already have booked.
When I priced out the rack rate, the total would have been higher, so I did get a discount on the room as well. :cool1:

I also wanted to mention that I did get the free dining for the entire length of my trip, through Dec. 22nd, even though the dates on the promotion say Dec. 20th. So I guess it's one of those times where as long as you check in before the last date, it gets extended!

And I just applied for the Disney Visa on Monday - thank God I did!!! THat was before I even knew this code would be available. :thumbsup2

On hold and then finished from 6.12 - 7.07, girl was very sweet and helpful!!
Okay, I had cbr on nov 14 * 23 before, with gp discount, no dining, 9 day tickets, no hopper or water, for 2 adult was 1613.00. Now, adding the "free dining", all a matter of how you look at it i guess, my total with everything else remaining the same, is 2120.00, so about 500.00 increase, so that's pretty good I guess. Oh, and I don't think there was discount on the room, she said she hadn't heard there was any discount on the room portion at all. Hmmm.
Without my original discount and dining, it would have been about 2950. Or, if I would have kept my gp code, and added dining for 9 days, it would have been about 2300, so I got our dining by adding about 500 today to what we already owe for our had so that's not bad at all. I figured we'd probably spend somewhat more than that for our food, so we got a deal, need to figure more exactly, later after i'm more awake!

Btw, what does anyone think is an average amount for two adults, 50 and 18 yrs, to spend on food for 9 days? Also, if i had 10 days of tickets, for that last day we are there til about 4.30, would I have gotten dining for that last day also? Like are the days of food by the days of tickets you get, or by the nights you sleep over? Hopefully this all makes some sense, it's toooo early, up late with only a couple hours sleep, so i'll go do that now! :goodvibes

It is free. The original price you had was with a discount. If you go on Disney's site and price out a rack rate vacation you will see that it is free + I believe people are not only getting free dining but also a room discount with the values. Your lucky. They aren't offering the room discount for the deluxes w/ this code only free dining.

I was able to use the code for 11/20-11/24 at POP. I originally booked room-only and looking at menus I figured for 4 nights, 5 days out of pocket dining would be $300. I used the code, booked a package with 1 day base tickets (for 3 of us) for only $123 more! So not only do I save $200 on food, but I have park tickets for next trip!

We are going to Poly from 11/24 - 11/30 so 1st I tried to book Poly for the entire stay 11/20-11/30 but it wouldn't work for the whole stay.

same here - hit the voice prompted menu which takes me forever to navigate (which I can't stand).

Why do they ask you the questions if the CM will ask them over again?

THAT whole thing was SOOO frustrating!

It took 2 or 3 minutes to even get to the point where I was on hold.

Then I got the nicest CM to help me ... he really was very pleasant. And he was very thorough. VERY thorough. We had a bit of a language barrier, which made it take that much longer. 25 minutes later, and I got my reservation.

One odd thing: I entered my phone number, just as I have every other time I've ever called CRO ... the same phone number every time. Today, the information for our family was really old? 10 years old? It was weird.

That has happened to me before too. They said they had a different phone number and address from 3 years ago when we lived in NJ. Funny though we have been to Disney 4 times since moving here and they have had the right phone number and address every other time I called. They probably send my discount pins to the old address  .

Just off the phone with nice CM and we are currently booked at WL Dec 13 for 6 nights AAA room only standard. She is showing no availability with that promotion at WL in any room type. She mentioned the Boardwalk but we have our heart set on WL and really have a good rate but would probably save around $400 if we got the free dining even if we had to do a room upgrade. She did mention that she thought since this promotion just came out this am that Disney has not opened up many rooms as of yet. She did mention that it would be a good idea to try back later today as she thought more rooms would be open by then. Just passing along to anyone who didn't get what they wanted this am. May want to try again this afternoon.

Has anyone booked a deluxe yet and was it less than rack rate? Figuring out if I can upgrade, but it depends on the % off I guess. I booked free dining with the pincode that was sent to my email 2 weeks ago. Our package seems like it is the same deal as this one. We already have 7 day hoppers with water parks so only needed 1 day tickets. CBR preferred room for 8 nights (2 adults a children) 1 day tickets and free dining $1769 !!

We had the package discount for fall booked originally. It was room discount, 1 day tickets, and dining plan. Our savings was $353 with the free dining  .

I am so happy to read that the "free" dining was also an increase for others. I booked with the fall codes for 11/10-11/17 and went back and forth between pop century and CBR finally decided on pop and total package for my family with 3 day PH was $1450, now with free dining was $1736...it still works out to be a deal when considering original ressie was for around $2300 with dining plan. Ok Just got off the phone with a wonderful CM - Zach (sooooo helpful:thumbsup2) We have booked and paid for WL Standard Rm Oct. 5-11 4day PH, and basic dining plan...It costed $3053.

If we applyed this new Disney Visa promotion, we would upgrade to a Courtyard w/bunkbeds, 4 day PH and dining plan and the cost would be $2762
He said we would just cancel the exisitng reservation and credit it back to our Discover card (what we originally put our package on) and create a new reservation on the disney visa for this package and this price!!!

Problem is, we are still waiting for approval for our Disney Visa.

Any idea how long it will take????...Applyed first thing this morning when we found out we could get the discount. We may have missed the boat and that is ok, but maybe we will get a little Pixie Dust sprinkled our way:goodvibes

As another poster said, the 13th is not part of the promotion, so it won't show availablity for the code. BUT.....the thing that irks me is that the CMs don't appear to be telling people to book with the code for the dates that ARE covered and to get a separate reservation for any dates not covered.

So.....call back and tell them that you want to get a NEW reservation with the free dining for December 14 to I think your leaving date is December 18? Those dates ARE covered by the code if there are rooms available (code goes through 20th). Then AFTER you have those dates confirmed with the free dining, tell them to change your original reservation to ONLY December 13. You'll have to pay two deposits, but you're about a month away from having to pay the whole thing anyway, so hopefully you're able to do so. THen when you check in on the 13th you will NOT have free dining (which typically is fine since most people aren't arriving early enough to do 1TS/1CS/1snack anyway).....but also tell them that you have another reservation starting on the 14th and IF POSSIBLE you'd like to not have to change rooms. If they can they'll leave you in the same room (if your two reservations are two different categories that probably won't work unless they upgrade you at check in but don't count on it, just accept the pixie dust if it happens). Just in case it won't work.....pack accordingly...put everyone's toiletries, pjs and one day change of clothes together in one suitcase, then you only have to use that suitcase and can leave the others alone until you move to your other room. Very easy to repack in the morning to move. Frankly, I live out the suitcase when it's that short of a move, rather than unpack anything at all. A little hassle, but the cost savings may make it worth it.

I was told that there was no room discount either, BUT, my price WITH dining vs. just using the fall discount including dining is cheaper by $150 or so.

I am adding 3 nights stay at BWI the week before T-giving. We are staying off-site for the week of T-giving with family.

My package price for a family of 5 for 3 nights with 7 day ticket is $2150.58. Tickets are $1102. Price difference of $1048.58...minus dining plan which is around $340, gives a rate of about $240 per night at the BWI. I think that is a pretty good discount. Includes a Friday night stay.

No availability at YC, BC, or CR for my nights. 11/19-11/22

We'll be at WH 11/22-11/29.

Exactly! but the poster may need the park tickets for the 13th and buying a 1 day ticket for the entire family just won't be worth it. That is the problem I have run into. Someone posted that I may be able to get them to issue me my park tickets the day before (the 14th) other have said not possible. We used the Visa code and got this:

CBR - 11-22 to 11-27, $1,850.40 for 4 people, includes base tickets and free dining.

11-22 was the last day before the black-out dates. The first CM would not let us use the code, but we tried again and it worked.

We were also offered All Sports for $1,608, but decided to splurge a little.

I've been on the phone since 6:30, Az time. The 1st CM I spoke with got me the free dining with the visa card at *** (oops) Sports, I was originally at POP. but with saving $439, I decided to switch. I was so excited, after I hung up I realized I should check if they had any moderates so I called back, only to find out that the CM put in the wrong dates of travel. She put my day of arrival in as my actual day of departure. To make a long story short, they took away my free dining in order to put me back to my original dates and at POP. I asked if they could compensate me in any way and they said no, that they could just give me my original res. back. I am not waiting on an e-mail from them...

So you can save even more money just by switching values?? I'm at POP right now, but if I could save a couple of hundred to switch to a different value, I would gladly do that!

Yes, as long as it's available. Just make sure they give you the correct dates.

Are the other values as good as POP Century? Or should I stick with that one?? Crap - more decisions!

We originally booked at POP, when the GP code came out we switched to ASSp and saved $497 per room (we have 2). I called today and was told taht the code I had used was better then this one, trust him. That was it, he didn't check, just trust him. I asked how that was possible being that I would have saved over $1000 for free dining, he said no, I was wrong. So, I hung up, frustrated. I kept thinking about it so I called back and got the NICEST guy. He said I bet you would save more using the Disney Visa code, let's check. We saved another almost $900 (oops, almost said 9000 that would have been something!!!). We went from 2813.94 (3 adults, 1 junior) and 2279.89 (2 adults, 1 kid) to 1803.06 and 1572.93. AMAZING!!!!!!!! The guy was sooooo kind, I was crying and he said I was going to make him cry. We had paid off our vacation just last week, so now we have about $900 waiting for us on our KTTW to use for tips, souvineers, etc. (He said they would credit what we didn't use back to the CC, but I'm betting we will enjoy using it!)
Anyway, if first you get someone unhelpful, try again. I got a man named King and he was the best!!!!!!! I am going to go send an e-mail to Disney about how kind he was. He deserves to be recognised for being such a wonderful CM.

We have always been pleased with the All Stars (I bet you'll have to be at Sports). The nice thing about Sports is that it is the first bus stop. In the morning you will get on to an empty bus, and at night when yo uwant to go to SLEEP you will be the first one dropped off.

I personally like POP better, especially with their own buses. However, to save a couple hundred I would definitely switch.

Because I'm completely impatient I just called again and talked to a different CM who said that the discount is ONLY free dining. There is no discount on room. I still saved a total of like $600, so I'm not really complaining.

Maybe it depends on when you go...mine definitely had a room discount. Our DP (2A2C) came to $767.68. However when compared to the same pkgs at rack rate, our savings are $911.68. Even though we are going in regular season, we got the room at value season prices. Difference between CSR standard room regular and value season = $16/night. $16 x 8 nts x 1.125 (for the 12 1/2 percent tax) = $144....$144 + $767.68 (for the DP) = $911.68 total savings.

I'm on hold right now. So just to make sure I understand, if I don't use the 1-day base ticket that I'm required to buy, I can save it for a future trip? Is it linked to my name, or can I say give it to my sister?

Yeah- I called back and got everything done. We changed from Dec 13-19 AAA standard room only at WL to Dec 14-20th Courtyard view with 7 day park hoppers and free dining for $2906.71 for 2 kids and 2 adults. We will just stay offsite that Sat. and drive down early Sat vs half way Friday night and do downtown Disney and get to bed early so we can check in super early Sunday morning. We lose 1/2 day at the parks Sat but we will be there still plenty of time and can stay until late that following Sat. night and then drive an hour or so home. Plus Free dining saved us at least $40o plus a room upgrade!!!

We have given away more than a few of our one day base tickets...they work fine. Since you have never used them, and done the finger scan, they really aren't linked to you. sure, they have your name on them, but as long as a female is using one with a females name, I wouldn't worry about it.

Now, are you supposed to do this..NO!

I got a price quote. Since I had a special room rate before, it looks like I'd be saving about $50 with the free dining. Plus I'd have to purchase the one-day tickets as an "investment" for the future. I guess I'll stick with the original plan, keep the cash instead of the extra tickets, and keep the flexibility of not being on DDP. Darn!

But I'm glad to hear that others are getting great deals out of the offer! :grouphug:

The catch to Free Dining is that you are to pay rack rate for the hotel room. I don't think you can get Free Dining and also a discount on your room.

Last night I plugged various dates to check what the package would be without a dining package on Disney's website. I did pricing without any deals; because, you can't double dip with codes, etc. The pricing would give me the so-called room rack rate ( I chose a preferred room ) which is what is required to get the free dining discount usually. Then, when I called this morn I had those cost figures in front of me for 3 diiferent set of dates. We are retired and we are flexible with our dates. Anyway, all three scenarios were cheaper that the website pricing; so, I know we are getting a discount on the resort room, too. I would say it came out to about 10% off the resort room in each case. There was a slight difference on costs when you change the dates a little, as well; although, it wasn't significant.

I couldn't make the ressies yet, but at least I know the current discount pricing with this code. Since we had three dates and I'm going to do it tonight I feel I should be ok waiting until this evening to make my ressies. I say this is a very good deal for value resorts.

I suggest for everyone to compare by using the Disney website. I can tell from some of the posts that with other deals, etc. this discount may not be as good or not worth the hassle of changing everything around if you need to change dates, etc.

I have the CR on hold, my original rate with the fall discount was $2602. With the new code - $2100, so we are saving $500. :woohoo: (at least in theory) I don't have the card with me, so I called DH who's sleeping

Wake up DH!!!

It was 2AD 3CH (2 are jrs.) GV room with deluxe dining plan. I asked him to confirm that we are keeping the deluxe plan at that rate and he kept saying yes.
--------------------------------------
Okay we're booked now. Actual savings was $462, but that's $462 I can pocket. guess it would have been more if I dropped down to the regular dining plan, but we're doing a lot of signature restaurants this trip. I had a wonderful CM too! She told me I didn't have to rebook the trip, she just put a deposit on the Disney Visa, and now I'm all set.

I too believe I got a discount on my deluxe room. We had booked a GV room at Grand Floridian. My rate when I booked with a code (can't remember which!) was $4640 for 7 nights, 7-day hoppers and dining. When I called today to apply the code, the rate went to $4080. I questioned the amount because I didn't remember having a code the first time. The CM stated that the package at rack rates, no free dining would have been $5250. That's a difference of $1200. The dining plan for us is about $700, so that leaves an additional $500 discount.

We changed weeks from a AAA package we originally had for the week before. With our new package, we have 2 nights at the Holiday rate which is crazy expensive, but we are still saving over $200!

I'm just glad we got it!

I'm agreeing with you. There is definitely a room discount somewhere in there because if I quote out the same exact package I have with the code, I get $3700. What I've ended up paying is $2900. Dining for my family during this stay equaled $540. That would mean our room is discounted by about 15%, though there is a small margin for error though because I've done some minor rounding.

The good news in all of this is that I'm saving (!!!!!!!!) more than $800! :yay: :yay: :yay: Of course I use the word "saving" lightly as I'm still out $2900, but you know what I mean. :)

I think we still have a room discount, too...

I originally booked Dec. 13 - 20 at Pop, with code DGL, and no dining.

I just changed to Dec. 14 to 21 at Pop, with code QXZ. It's only $500 more than our original reservation - so all six of us will eat for the week, at Disney, for only $500!!!!:cool1:  :cool1:

can anyone else confirm that the all star resorts are cheaper than POP? we don't really want to switch, but if it were significantly cheaper we might consider.

as for room discount, we did get one. i'm not sure how much, but by looking at the disney website, the room/tickets were about $1250 or so and we are paying $1116 for our package w/ dining.

oh yeah, in just checking the disney site, they don't have any standard rooms at POP from 12/14-12/21.

:thumbsup2

I dont' think they are cheaper, but in some cases the discount is just not available anymore for the POP, so switching to one of hte All Stars will be cheaper...if you can get the discount at one of those. There is a tax rate difference between the All Stars though, as they are in a different county, but that is minimal.

POR, 2A and 3C (16,14 and 8), 10 day Base, NO Dining....$3209.79.

We are going the second week of Nov at AS Music and it doesn't look like there is any or very little anyway room discount with the VISA free dining code. It came out out $ 300 more (6 days) than the fall package discount we are already using. I didn't think that was worth it for us (me, 2 DDs), we just don't eat that much food, so I didn't switch. Plus I didn't really want to be tied to ADRs but I would have switched for the right price. If you have more people, I can see how it would be worthwhile though. The CM did say they have been very busy today with all the Disney VISA callers!

My old Ressie was for Checking in on 9/26, Checking out on 10/4. AS Music Family Suites with Dining and 8 day Base Ticket @ $3352

The new discounted Split ressie is 9/26-27 w/ dining and 8 day Base Ticket, and 9/28-10/4 w/ Dining and 1 day Base Ticket @ 2995.

But how can the parks do it if you don't have the correct KTTK yet?? :confused3 (I am very interested in this response since we are in a similar situation in December and I would LOVE my tickets early!!!)

Thought I'd share our good fortune...

We had originally booked 2 rooms at Pop Century for November 13th - 17th with an AP discount and the AP dining package.

The room with 2 adults was $649.17 room with 1 adult and 1 infant was 521.49 - that's without any tickets. Well, with the Disney Visa Discount, the first room is now 524.18 and the second is 447.41. So, in total we're saving $225 and we'll have 3 base tickets to save for later as well!!

I have booked this offer and have saved approx. $900 from my original reservation for the week prior. I did have to use my Disney Visa to place an immediate $200 deposit on this reservation. I first made sure I was able to change my airlline tickets before I made any reservation change and it all worked out. The airline tickets have significantly went down since I first purchased so I got a large credit towards the large change fee and wound up paying only $46 difference on the tickets.

We are driving down on the 13th so we only have a room only reservation for that night. Our package starts on the 14th and we check out on the 22nd. They will extend the package past the 20th, but they will not give you the fd discount before the 13th.

Princess Tiffany:

May I ask you a question? Was your original reservation booked using a code? In other words, were you getting a discount on your two rooms at Pop Century. If so, won't the cost of your two rooms go up to rack rate if you take the Free Dining deal, reducing the savings?

Thanks.

Our original reservation that I booked in May was about $4,800.00. The QXD general code offer saved us about $637.00, but today with the Visa Free Dining Code applied our trip (after they took off the QXD, because you can't combine two codes), the total is now about $3,200.00. We are paying rack rate for the rooms. We have 4 kids and we are taking my MIL, so that 4 Disney adults and 3 children who will have free dining for our 8 day package - that adds up to over $1,500.00. The free dining promo is always the greatest money saver for us because we have a large family.

We are booked Nov 30-Dec 6 so NO free dining for us.:scared: It seems to me to be a little unfair because people are getting the free dining offer extended past the last date posted in Dec but not in Nov. Has anyone else noticed this trend? :confused3

Sigh...my online reservation isn't showing my free dining yet. I want something in print! I feel like it's just a dream- I need something tangible to prove it's true! I haven't gotten an email either but then I didn't when I got the last code.

It shows my payment though! So right now it looks like I have a credit. Surely by tomorrow.

Using the visa code QXZ I was able to change my res for 12/17- 12/22 from VWL studio to standard courtyard view with free dining.... saved $600  so it was well worth it for us! :santa:
The CM I spoke with was extremely helpful- tried to apply the code to the studio at the villas. Good luck with your ressies!

Just called and tried to change my existing reservation to 11/21 thru 12/1 at Pop Century with the Qxz code for free dining. Was told I could only get it for the first night because code stated it was from 11/9-11/22. Wondering if anyone is having luck booking around this time if they arrive before the 22nd but stay after the 22nd. Anyone been able to use the code over thanksgiving? :confused3

Yes, I got it for my entire trip. Staying at POR: me, DH, DD11 & DD8. From Nov 18 to Nov 26.

8 Nights Rack Rate w/ Dining = 3,566.48
8 Nights with Disney Visa code =2,484.80

Almost $1082 savings! It is free dining plus a very small misc discount that I haven't been able to figure out. Dining would only cost us $991, but somehow we are saving $91 more than that.

Thanks for your reply. Was that an existing reservation or a new one?? Did you book thru Disney or a travel agent. I've called twice & have got the same response, that I can't use.

I just called back again to inquire about the QXZ FD rate and the militant reservationist with a  you know where :rotfl2: stated specifically that you could not book outside the blackout dates! I told her that other people had been posting on these boards that they were indeed getting booked outside of the posted dates. She said that I should not trust these boards and hung up on me!:scared1: How rude!:sad2:

I had an existing reservation (using Dreams Unlimited Travel) and my TA called Disney this morning & applied the new discount code to my existing reservation. I have heard that others have extended past 11/22 as well....Good Luck!!

We just saved some more off our trip too.

With a PIN CODE (40%) we had 2 standard rooms at POP

room 1 2 Adults 8d/7n parkhopper with dining $1594 is now $1418 and booked in the preferred category. So that was $176 cheaper and preferred

room 2 1 adult 1 child 8d/7n 8 day parkhopper/dining was $1160 Standard and now is $1140 preferred so only $20 off that room but upgrade to preferred.

Cant beat that. It paid for our tips for the week.

I was able to get ASSp or ASMo with your dates

$1817.50 with 10 day hoppers and insurance and free dining. Didn't feel like asking them to take that stuff off, but you could figure it out I guess if you have less than that on the park pass and no insurance. But, it IS available with a November 21st check in!

Ditto this for my situation.

Ditto for me at POR. The price with dining code was same as price on webpage without dining. So all it would give me is free dining.

I booked with the code for the package that came out last month at ASMovies. Just tried to switch to the free dining code. there was no availability at Movies, but they could switch us to Sports. I was originally $1770 w/ deluxe dining.... and if switched to Sports with FD and doing deluxe with that would have been $1670 - so $100 savings - which I declined. My little ones are real excited to be staying at Movies, so isn't worth saving the $100 to move to Sports. Maybe something will open up for my dates at Movies?

We booked it using theQXZ code for 11-22 to 11-27. First CM said we couldn't do it, so we called back and the next CM allowed it. Keep trying!

I am really bummed. We are going Dec. 7-14 but I did get the 40% off back in March and I know that you can't combine the two codes. I just hope that I got as good of a deal.

Good Luck to everyone, hope you get what you want.

We check in on Nov 22nd and got it for the whole trip. The first guy I spoke with didn't check and just said I had a better deal, but when I called back the guy said no problem. I got the e-amil confirmation and we saved almost $1900 off rack rate.

I just saw this on the disney visa site special offers. I dont have time to read through the post tonight. I have to get up inb about 5 hours for work:eek:

total package was 1935.73

i was thinking i woulnd quailfy because i leave the 23rd but my last night is the 22nd so it will count right?

I dont want to mess this up and lose my current deal ,so if i go with the new code QXZ will my new package be
POP CENTURY CLSSC- QXD / MAGIC YOUR WAY PKG + DIN
9 nights

2 A and 1 Child
Nov 14-23
room, ticket and dining $1701.00 saving me 234.73 ? Are the child price also $63 per day? This will be cool if i can save some more money especially with my wedding in a few month

another QUESTION:if i computed this right(LOL) will i have to change my ressie to a completely new one. I already have the dining on it or will they just change the code and price????

ok i just got off the phone with disney. heres the new package deal same package as above
POP CENTURY CLSSC- QXZ / MAGIC YOUR WAY PKG + free DIN
9 nights
2 A and 1 Child
Nov 14-23
7 day basic tickets aboout 721.00

total package was 1935.73(old package)
new package is 1497.70

savings of 438.03 yipeeeeeeeeeeeee!

I was so excited i had her repeat the deal. and asked her to hold on so i could catch my breath-seriously. This is truly magical!!!!!!!!!!!!! I made this promise to dd when she was lil and told her when she turned 10 i would take her to wdw. Well she will turn 1o in dec and she reminded me of my promise earlier this year. Looking into this trip at first was depressing because i didnt think i could afford it, then airfare from CA (LAX) for 2 A 1 C didnt look like this dream would come true. Pixie dust lead me to this board that has made this trip not only more affordable but possible and i cant forget disney visa-lol! Thanks all

POP CENTURY CLSSC- QXD / MAGIC YOUR WAY PKG + DIN POP may be a problem, my understanding was they had no rooms available at the discout, but that culd be wrong so it is worth a try but you may have to consider sitching to ASSp to get the offer

Nov 14-23 We check in on Nov 22, as long as you started in those datees you were fine

It's worth a try, or plug in your dates with room (at rack rate) and tickets only and see if there is a savings. For us it was very worth it (another $700+) but we have 5 adults and 2 kids between the 2 rooms. GOOD LUCK!!!
