Why are many resorts sold out the first weekend in May?

Anyone know what's going on the first weekend of May? POR & CSR are sold out. I was hoping this would be a slow time since school is still in session & Spring Break is over. What should I avoid next weekend? Thanks!

Its a combination of a big convention time for CSR and the fact that POFQ is still closed.

Not sure, but ......
It is also the last Grad night.
We were there same time last year....at CSR......and LOTS of conventions!
Also.....so crowded with very young families...never seen so many strollers in my life!

The Flower Festival is still on at Epcot, too. It's only a month away so the resorts should be heavily booked by now. Things are slowly getting back to normal at WDW and last minute bookings will probably start to be more difficult.
