Will you use your points to stay on the weekends?


Just trying to get an idea what availability may be like at 7 months. :teeth:

I'm not buying BLT and not planning to try to stay there (costs too many points, IMHO). Hoping that it will take some of the pressure off VWL, BWV & BCV at the 7 month mark, though.

We will be planning on actually staying there. My situation is different than others. Two of my 5 kids are visually impaired. Sometimes we travel without dh. While I do like SSR, I cannot see me taking the kids there alone. Getting off the buses and traveling the outdoor paths at the darker resorts is an always adventure. BCV is easy (as is BWV) and hopefully BLT will also be easy. Right now these two kids are 15 and 11 but in ten years they will want to vacation without Mom and Dad. I think BLT location (because of monorail and also it is not a dark woodsy type resort-like SSR, OKW, and AKV) will make vacationing easier for them. Usually we try to do the Sun-Fri to save points. But if we get a terrific airfare we stay the weekend in order to save the money with our family of 7.

We bought 300 pts - plan to use them almost exclusively at BLT - 7 nights in a 1br MK view in choice season (282). The leftovers plus our AKV contract will fund winter/spring trips at AKV and *hopefully* a BW view stay sometime in jan/feb. If we get to use some of those other points at BLT during jan/feb that's great but we really bought BLT to stay at BLT and AKV to stay anywhere else.

We are considering buying points mainly for NYE. We might buy 50 points to get a MK View Studio when NYE is on a Fri or Sat. We are meeting with our guide this Thursday.

When we purchase we will be staying at BLT only....there would really be no reason at that point for us to stay anywhere else. The transportation offered at BLT would make going to other resorts easier for us. :cool1:

We bought points and most likely will use BLT points for BLT. Same goes for out points at BCV.

That's not to say we will never use them elsewhere, but most likely will solely be used at BLT

We're going to buy between 50 and 100 points to be used on weekdays for a studio (since we have points at BW, BC and WL we haven't had to use the 7 month window).

We will use our 100 blt points exclusively for blt. We can do 1-2 trips per year and alternate between BLT, WLV, and now SSR Treehouse Villas. I don't know if we will have time for the other resorts anymore though I have certainly enjoyed all of them in the past. Fun fun fun. Hmmm...no time for work either.

we'll only use BLT points for BLT unless there are some leftovers that need to be used up. But I'm thinking a week trip with banking and borrowing will work with a 100pt buy in.
My guide was less than thrilled over BLT. He was saying AKV is the much better deal. Which it is. But I dont' want more AKV points. I don't even really want to stay at AKV. LOL

Yes. I won't likely do small add ons anywhere since they changed the ressie system.

Not elsewhere, only BLT....every other year, for now.

We're probably going to buy BLT at some point, but it won't be immediately. We bought points at AKV earlier this year and are in the middle of buying a resale BWV contract. That uses up our current DVC fund since we want to pay cash. Plus, I am not so overwhelmed with the initial incentives that I am convinced I need to jump now for a good deal. Particularly since I wouldn't be able to use those points for a year.

When we buy, we will buy enough to bank and borrow for MK view (not sure what size room) every three years and we'll use our AKV and BWV points for our other trips. We won't use BLT points anywhere else, at least while we have children who appreciate the MK.
