Hello everyone! :welcome: to my PTR! I'm so excited to start.
:yay: :yay:
Who we are:
Me - 24 year old mom who loves WDW. I obsessively plan all our vacations down to the very last detail. I currently work in retail but am studying to be a Wedding consultant/event planner. Here I am.
http://i123.photobucket.com/albums/o286/nybella17girl/100_2989.jpg
DH - A pirate. Makes swords, fights the bad guys, lol. Here he is:
http://i123.photobucket.com/albums/o286/nybella17girl/Pirates-42.jpg
:rotfl2: lol. Ok, back to my real DH (sorry DH!)
DH - 25 years old. Goes to Disney to make me happy but would rather try somewhere else for future vacations. Doesn't plan for our trip at all, but helps me pay for it. lol. Loves thrill rides.
Here he is:
http://i123.photobucket.com/albums/o286/nybella17girl/disney%202006/100_2003.jpg
DD - Age 5. Loves Disney as much as I do. Is into princesses, rides, and hopes to live in the castle one day. She just started kindergarten.
Here is my little princess.

About the title: DH and I have been discussing for some time now that we'd like to have our 2nd child. My DD is already 5 and everyone keeps telling me how I should have my kids close together or if not, they'll argue and my DD will have no one to play with. Well, I think its almost time. Yes, almost. I'm pretty sure we're ready (if its even possible to be ready for a child), but I kept telling DH we should wait until next year so that I could have my one last trip to WDW before I get pregnant, so of course, we absoloutely must make the most out of this trip because it will be a while. I don't plan to take an infant to WDW and since I already have plans for our very first disney cruise in 2010 and we only take vacations every other year, my next trip to WDW probably won't be until 2011 or 2012. :sad2:

So, last night, my Anti-disney DH and I were talking. I was talking about Disney of course and I was telling him about how I would love to have a Dis t-shirt or matching T-shirts for all of us for our trip.
I told him I was thinking of going to buy some shirts, but he insisted we could just buy plain shirts and make them ourselves.
I told him I wasn't sure if If I knew how and he told me he would make them for me!!! What!!! How crazy is that?
This should be intresting considering he's never done this before.
Now, I just wonder how long it will take him to do this. You guys think they'll be ready by December? Yeah, this is DH were talking about, I probably shouldn't get my hopes up....but I am happy he's trying to do something nice for me!

Im in!!
9 days? WOW.. Im jealous :worship:
My DH used to be the way your DH is.. He only went to WDW because he knew how much I love it.. but I think I've converted him! He really enjoys going now.. As long as we make sure we go to HS and he gets to ride Rock n Roller Coaster all is good.. :cutie: He loves that ride!! We usually ride it a few times in a row at least.. and then go back and ride it a few more times later that day with fastpasses.. Ive been tossing around the idea recently of a solo trip but Im soooo afraid that he will try to highjack my solo trip and come along :lmao:
Your DD is sooo cute! My youngest DD is 10, almost 11 and lets just say she is the farthest from being a princess as you can get.. she is a TOMBOY! It drives me absolute nuts! especially since my oldest DD who is about to be 17 was always a girly girl.. it was always dresses and pink things and barbie dolls, you get the picture... My DD10 says if I make her wear a dress she will be ill.. :rotfl2: :lmao: Sometimes Im tempted to do it just to see if she really will get ill.. :thumbsup2
Sounds like you guys are in for one heck of a great trip.. especially with the christmas decorations up and everything.. Ok Im really getting jealous now..

lol. My family is actually the opposite. DH loved Disney the first time around in 2006. We had a perfect trip. Since we love only just over 2 hours away, we've visited MK 4 more times for 1 day trips since and keeps telling me he's so tired of WDW. I don't know how that is possible. :confused3
My DD is a girly girl. She thinks she is a disney princess! princess:
Thanks for reading so far. Please come back for updates!

December 2006--This was DD and my very first trip ever to WDW. DH had been there as a child. We stayed at pop century in the 50's section which is also what I requested this year along with a ground floor room. We stayed 8 nights/9 days and had the DP.
Here we are in 2006 after watching Indiana Jones at the souvenir shop:
http://i123.photobucket.com/albums/o286/nybella17girl/disney%202006/cowboys.jpg
January 2007--A 1 day trip to MK with my brother, Jerry who lives in PA. He came down to visit and had never been to WDW before so we had a perfect excuse to go back!
http://i123.photobucket.com/albums/o286/nybella17girl/disney%20jan%202007/disneypictures283.jpg
May 2007--Well, this time around my mom and other Brother, Peter visited for my DD's 4th birthday and, well, you guessed it. While they were here, we had to take them to MK for another 1 day trip since they had never been before either.
http://i123.photobucket.com/albums/o286/nybella17girl/disney%20may%202007/100_2686.jpg
You are probably looking at the above picture and thinking we are some crazy freaky family, but I had to show you guys this. I'll tell you what happened. DH decided to be silly and do the bunny ears to me. My brother saw him doing this and started laughing which is when I tried to grab my DH and make him stop before the picture was taken but it was too late and I didn't mean for my hand to go there at all especially not when the picture was about to be taken and with my mother standing 2 feet away from me. To make matters worse, I was right next to the character and I said to DH: "I'm gonna kill you" (for the bunny ears) and the poor character probably thought I was threatening him/her. I felt really bad when we left the room and I realized what I just said. Dh can be such a clown sometimes!
August 24, 2007--Pirate and Princess party with our nephew, age 4 at the time. It got rained out and we didn't get to do any of the special party events. This is the only bad experience I had at disney....although Disney made me happy by giving us free admission to MK any day for a year. :yay: (Which of course means we went back 1 more time)
But, on the flip side, I did get to meet my other hubby, no not Will Turner, but.....
http://i123.photobucket.com/albums/o286/nybella17girl/pirate%20princess/100_3138.jpg
and finally....
May, 2008--Our most recent trip. Another one day at MK and the day we used our free tickets from the Pirate and Princess Party. We also celebrated DD's 5th birthday. We did BBB and ate dinner at the Crystal Palace too.
http://i123.photobucket.com/albums/o286/nybella17girl/jaclyns%20bday%20wdw%20may%2014/IMG_0607.jpg
So, maybe you all can now see why DH doesn't want to go back. He "thinks" we did everything in MK or WDW for that matter and wants to go somewhere else.  Like that's gonna happen!
Coming up next: What I plan to do with all those deluxe dp snack credits!

Your dining plans look great! We usually don't do a lot of ADRs but I really like the Sci-Fi and the Prime Time Cafe. So fun! I'd love to try Beaches and Cream and Whispering Canyon Cafe.
Cute pictures!
I see in your signature you were there in May...so were we. The weather was great and it was so uncrowded!

:yay: :yay: I can't wait for deluxe dining!!!:yay: :yay:
So, since we love trying new restaurants, I had no choice but to purchase the deluxe dp for this trip! I'm so excited about it. As you all know, the deluxe dp comes with 2 snacks per person per night of stay, which gives us a grand total of 48 snack credits. Wow!
2 snacks per person x 8 nights= 16 snacks each
16 x 3 people = 48 snacks!
So, after DD and I drooled over the dessert thread:
http://disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1902284
and keeping up with what counts as a snack credit in 2008:
http://disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1683477
I have come up with a list of must have snacks that we'd like to try:
Make your own treats from Goofy's candy co at DTD
Strawberry shortcake from Sunshine seasons at Epcot
Anything from boulangerie in France
Icee from Japan
Funnel cake from Sleepy hollow
Mickey Premium bar
Of course, I also love cheesecake and soft serve Ice cream so I'll be keeping an eye out for those too. :woohoo:
You all may be wondering why I have not added a dole whip to my list and to be honest, I have had this before and didn't care for it much. :confused3 Don't flame me though!
I have had the funnel cake and mickey premium bar before too and they were awesome. Here is what the funnel cake from Sleepy hollow looks like. It's topped with whipped cream and strawberries. :lovestruc

disneyquest
dinner: Narcoossee's (8:35pm)
Can you get an earlier ressie for Nar's? That will be another late night followed by an early day ... You guys will be beat!!
Friday, Decmber 12th
AK day
Bfst: Tusker house (8:05)
Dinner: HDDR (last show, category 1)
Great minds think alike!! :lmao: The plan is to have lunch at Flame Tree BBQ ... but we'll be having dinner at Boma ...
Another late night followed by an early morning ... ?? I think you may be pushing it ... everyone will be more tired as the week goes on, so you need to slow down a little ...
Saturday, December 13th
Epcot
Bfst: Akershus (8:30am)
lunch: Marrakesh (1:30pm)
Dinner: Le Cellier (7:30)
No set plans for us - but probably either Epcot or MK ... depending on whether or not our airline changes our flight time (yet again ... :confused3 ) The DW and I traditionally eat at Marrakesh each trip - but are passing this time ..
Sunday, December 14th
MK
lunch: Whispering Canyon cafe (11:45am)
Dinner: yachstman steakhouse (7:10pm)
We'll be unpacking back in Jersey ... :sad1: ... but I'll get to see my
pluto: !!
I know this is very aggressive, but DD can stay up late with no problem and I think we can do it based on previous trips. What are your thoughts?
Too many late nights followed by early mornings ... do one or the other ... or you'll be fried by the 3rd/4th day ... :sad1:
A couple of things to note:
I'm trying to get an earlier ADR for the California Grill. I really wanted to eat before the fireworks, so that we could watch the fireworks and get back to bed afterwards, but no availability. Do you guys think I should keep trying? I call every day.
Coming up next.....our history of wdw, and snacks I can't wait to try!
I like your "park visit" schedule ... couldn't have done better myself ... :lmao:

joelp---thanks for reading!
Regarding my plans, for Day 2, we plan to use some snack credits during the day and I'm still trying to get an earlier ADR for Cali Grill so I think we'll be ok.
When and where is the dis meet?
We won't be going to any parks on the 11th and we'll be napping after AK on the 12th.
The 13th is the only day I'm a bit worried about as a full day at Epcot from open to close is tiring. In 2006, we did epcot from 1pm to close and we were exhausted, so I hope its not too bad!
I take it you like Mickey Premium bars.....lol.

Here's what I've been using to plan and to pass the time until my awesome trip:
The unofficial gude, old copy (from 2006) but in decent condition and the new editions are only slightly different so I didn't buy a new one.
http://i123.photobucket.com/albums/o286/nybella17girl/trip%20reports%20tools/IMG_1499.jpg
Passporter, another great book:

My mouse pad from the Mickey moms club:

I know what you mean when you say Epcot is tiring I'm hoping with it being a little cooler in Dec it will be easier. Just make sure you to all the things you have to do first then do other stuff.
I've also got the passporter (we got it in 2005 so should really get an update! Any ideas the best place to buy it is? Do they sell it at WDW?) it's so handy, and I love how if you've got the binder you can put other pages in - the only trouble we have is punching the holes, I'll have to get my 1 hole punch out ;) )
Joelp - love the snack ideas :lovestruc I'm thinking this year will be a snack fest, there are so many we've never tried (I never seemed to be hungry when we were going past all these yummy goodies :confused3 ) gives me lots of stuff to take pictures of and post :thumbsup2

Well, DH works for Washington Mutual Bank, and not sure if any of you have kept up with the news or not, but Chase bank has bought them out and they could possibly be firing my DH today.:scared1:
He went to work as normal today and so far, I have not gotten a call from him with any bad news so I'm hoping that is a good sign and that they are keeping him and that he is not fired.
I work too, but I don't make nearly as much as we need to pay our bills so if they fire him and he doesn't get another job fast, I'm worried that my trip will be postphoned and our plans to have another baby as well. :sad2:
Thank goodness DD is only 5 and doesn't understand what is going on.
So, please send some pixiedust my way. I'll need it. I'll keep you guys updated and let you all know what happens either tonight or sometime this weekend.

Thanks you guys. I just got word from DH. According to him, they are not letting anyone go yet but they said its still a possibility so we'll know within the next few weeks. This is so frustrating because they should let the workers know so people can go start looking for another job to support their families. Well, thankfully, DH still has his job as of right now. Thanks for all the pixiedust.

Well -- try not too worry too much about things you can't control ...
My guess it will take a few weeks for things be sorted out, so try to live as "normal" as possible ... (and get the DH to make sure his resume is up to date ...)
You're still young, so you have plenty of time to have another kid (or a whole infield worth!!) - so don't stress about that either ... (in my case, I'm too old to think about another kid ... ... and I'll be just fine if I never see an exploding diaper again ... :lmao:)
As for the trip - you'll need it - so maybe think about possibly "adjusting" as opposed to "postponing" ...
But with all the pixie dust headed your way, I think you'll be fine ...

So, the last time I was in WDW, I was on a strict budget and only had $200 for souvenir money. Here are some of the things that I bought:
From the emporium on mainstreet. $20 each
http://i123.photobucket.com/albums/o286/nybella17girl/trip%20reports%20tools/IMG_1515.jpg
Also from emporium: I think this was either $15 or $20. You can see all my DVD's in the back.
http://i123.photobucket.com/albums/o286/nybella17girl/trip%20reports%20tools/IMG_1513.jpg
I also bought 4 coffee mugs at Mickeys mart in DTD. They were 4 for $10. They each had pinocchio on them. I thought this was a great buy and perfect for family back home. :thumbsup2
In the same store, I got Mickey ice cube trays so now we always have Mickey floating around in our cups! Cute and only $1.
Sorry...no pics of those.
Finally, I love christmas decorations :santa: so I bought 6 or so ornaments from the xmas store in DTD. They were all disney couples and I got one of tink by herself. I love them. I can't wait to dig in my christmas closet and get them out to show you guys but I'll have to wait until Thanksgiving week which is when I start decorating my home.
This time around, I'd like to get:
-Another ornament. :santa: Hopefully, I can get one every trip and start a tradition.
-A book from DHS. I remember walking around near the sounds dangerous at DHS and there was a souvenir shop outside, but covered. I found this awesome book about WDW which had intresting facts and awesome pictures and I wanted to buy it, but I was on a budget so I figured I'd hold onto my money for something else instead. Unfortuanately, I don't remember what it was called and I hope they still have it.
-I also planned on buying the Cirque du soleil dvd, but luckily, I was able to record it from TV so I don't have to anymore which means I can buy something else!!! :yay:
So far, this is all I really want, but I'm sure I'll think of more stuff by the time I leave.
We're also definetely gonna do as much photopass as possible. We did this before but I was dissappointed that we didn't use it to our full advantage. I didn't know that we could take up to 200 pics and then just pay for the CD, so we only took about 80 pics. This time, I want to do many more.
I also hope to do photopass poses where the photographer poses you in a way that later on tink or stitch (and a few other characters) will be in the pic with us. I've seen some disers do this before and I think its so cool!
DD is also saving for a souvenir. So far, she is up to about $12. Her goal is $20.
:yay: :yay: :yay: 67 days!!!:yay: :yay: :yay:
Coming up: Park goals

Yea - yea ... we're still here ... (but I was already in bed sleeping last night while you were posting ... )
I didn't buy much in the way of souveniers our last trip in May 07 ... I was looking at the Christmas ornaments, but just couldn't get in the "mood" when it was 85 degrees outside!!
However, when we got home, the Disney Store.com had these Seven Dwarf garden statues on sale - so I could justify getting them. Snow White - however - was no where to be found (probably too busy keeping the Prince happy!! :lmao: )
This year, however, I have plans to get at least 3 of those Christmas ornament sets!! :thumbsup2
And - we're bringing an extra suitcase with us for all the junk and presents we'll be bring back ...!! :woohoo:

I'm from NYC so it is hard to get into the xmas mood when you live in Florida and its so hot outside. I really miss the snow!
I can't remember if I have a snow white and prince ornament. I bought a whole bunch, but not sure. I'll have to wait until I dig into the xmas closet to find out. Don't be surprised if you get more than 3. We only wanted 1, and left the store spending much more than we'd hoped. Most of my money went there.
You may need 2 extra suit cases! Thanks for reading.:thumbsup2

I got caught up on your PTR.. First of all, glad to hear all is good right now with your DH.. How frustrating not knowing, but at least he still has his job right now..
I like that sorcerer mickey you have in front of your dvds.. thats cool.. Ohh.. I liked hearing about the mickey ice cube trays.. $1?? woohoo.. I need to get a couple the next time Im at WDW
I cant wait to see your Christmas ornaments.. I started that tradition of getting one ornament everytime we go on vacation.. no matter where it is.. we cruise alot so I have some really cool ones from Honduras, Jamaica and different places in the Caribbean in addition to my Disney ones..
I have 2 Christmas trees now.. my regular one with all my snowmen on it.. and then my vacation tree.. I have enough ornaments on this one now.. Im hoping that eventually I will have 3 trees.. my regular one, a disney one and my "other vacation" one.. Thats my goal at least.. A girl has to have a goal right?? ;)
Cant wait to hear more!!

Ok. I'm back guys. Next up.............
Park Goals!!!
So, despite having been to WDW before, MK several times, we have not done everything there is to do in each park. Therefore, I plan to do some new things this time around.
Here is the list for MK:
-explore mainstreet. (Never took the time to actually enjoy it. Always running right past it to the big stuff :guilty: )
-Meet Peter Pan and Wendy. (I heard they were around in advnetureland. Anyone know where for sure? DD loves Peter)
-See PUSH, the talking trash. (I think DD will love this)
-See Hall of Presidents. We always skipped this, and unfortunately, I just found out it will be down for refurb during our trip. So, we'll have to come back again in the future :yay: to see this! (This will be my next excuse).
Epcot:
-See the tanks at the living seas. (We've done Nemo, and turtle talk though)
-HISTA. I would loved to have done this in 2006, but DD was too small and she would have been to frightened.
-Kidcots. I've always seen Epcot as the park for the more grown up crowd, so I think this will keep DD happy.
-Innoventions. I'd like to try stormstruck, house of innoventions, Where's the fire and a few others.
-the tree lighting. Missed it last time.
-Live entertainment in WS. Specifically Sergio in Italy, Server Amusant in France, Voices of Liberty, and Miyuki, the candy lady in Japan.
-The new Gran Fiesta tour in Mexico. I'm interested to see how this changed from el rio del tiempo which I loved.
-Spaceship earth. Want to see the new version.
-Maelstrom. Didn't quite get to this last time.
-Meet Mulan. Hopefully in Akershus bfst. I know she is in China too so that will be the backup.
-See the shows in America and France.
Whew! That's quite a list for Epcot. Hopefully, 2 days is enough!;)
DHS and AK goals coming up soon.....

Cool list, I know what you mean about not having done everything - you'd think that over three trips we would have done it all :rotfl:
Is Server Amusant the guy with the chairs? When we were there last Oct I got chosen to sit on one of his chairs - that guy is amazing :thumbsup2
Oh and the Gran Fiesta tour is ok but not up to par with the MK character rides, it's good to cool off and sit down for a bit - hopefully you'll all enjoy it though:banana:
We've never done Innoventions - the hurricane thing sounds like an experience :scared1: so glad we don't get these here ;)
I think EMH might help you do some of these without too much waiting in queues:thumbsup2

Here is the list for MK:
-explore mainstreet. (Never took the time to actually enjoy it. Always running right past it to the big stuff :guilty: )
Me, too ... but I have spent some time in the Main Street Bakery ...
-Meet Peter Pan and Wendy. (I heard they were around in advnetureland. Anyone know where for sure? DD loves Peter)
They were by the exit of POTC when we were there last time (I have pictures somewhere ...)
-See PUSH, the talking trash. (I think DD will love this)
Bumped into him - her ... it? ... last time ... Kids loved him - her ... it?
-See Hall of Presidents. We always skipped this, and unfortunately, I just found out it will be down for refurb during our trip. So, we'll have to come back again in the future :yay: to see this! (This will be my next excuse).
Epcot:
-See the tanks at the living seas. (We've done Nemo, and turtle talk though)
Me, too - that's one reason why we're having lunch at The Coral Sea ...
-HISTA. I would loved to have done this in 2006, but DD was too small and she would have been to frightened.
HISTA?
-Kidcots. I've always seen Epcot as the park for the more grown up crowd, so I think this will keep DD happy.
The DD had fun with this last trip ...
-Innoventions. I'd like to try stormstruck, house of innoventions, Where's the fire and a few others.
DD had fun with her grandparents last trip - never went in myself ... maybe this time ...
-the tree lighting. Missed it last time.
... Likewise (but then, it was May ... :lmao: )
-Live entertainment in WS. Specifically Sergio in Italy, Server Amusant in France, Voices of Liberty, and Miyuki, the candy lady in Japan.
Missed them, too ... though we did catch Off Kilter ...
-The new Gran Fiesta tour in Mexico. I'm interested to see how this changed from el rio del tiempo which I loved
DD liked it ...
-Spaceship earth. Want to see the new version.
Make sure you do the Orange version right after lunch!! :thumbsup2
-Maelstrom. Didn't quite get to this last time.
Was closed our last trip - so on our to do list, too ...
-Meet Mulan. Hopefully in Akershus bfst. I know she is in China too so that will be the backup.
DD saw her at Askershus with the GPs ...
-See the shows in America and France.
Don't see France after lunch ( ... unless you want a nap ...) - Anyway, that's when you'll be doing Mission:Space ... :rotfl2:
Whew! That's quite a list for Epcot. Hopefully, 2 days is enough!;)
DHS and AK goals coming up soon.....

More goals.....
DHS
-Toy Story Mania. (Can't wait for this one)
-Beauty and the beast live on stage (this was down last trip and I was so dissappointed)
-High School Musical show (For DD)
That's about it for DHS. We spent almost 3 days there in 2006 and so we were able to do almost everything. Of course, we'll be repeating our favorites this year.
AK
-Expedition Everest (DH will be doing this alone)
-Maharajah jungle trek and Pangani forest trail (missed these last time)
-Flights of wonder
-Dinosaur (DH will be doing this one alone too)
I had also planned to see the Pocahontas show, but it is already closed so that's kind of dissappointing, but I am hoping they will get something in its place soon. I heard it wasn't that great of a show anyway. :confused3
Other Goals:
-Meet new characters (Other than Peter Pan, we really don't care who, we just want to meet some new ones)
-Visit the World of Disney store. (DH is really really really hoping we don't have time for this. I'm a shopaholic. Enough said)
-Hoping to have some extra time to get a quick visit in to the Boardwalk, but this is really only a maybe at this point. I don't think I can fit it in.
I have some very exciting news now:
I paid my trip off!!!!! :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: One less bill to worry about! It seems more official now!
By the way, I thought I'd let you all know that if you have on Demand, you can watch disney programs and shows on channel 891. I have comcast so I don't know if it matters, but its pretty cool. They update the shows every now and then and it really makes you want to be there. Check it out.

Of course, after Disney, it will almost be xmas, then I got my DH and my Anniversary, and after new years, his birthday and soon after that Valentine's day. Wow!

Hey everyone. So, I did a little (Ok, maybe more than a little) shopping and I bought a couple of things that I'll be bringing along with me to WDW.
Here is a cap I thought would be cute to tag along:

A bunch of cozy pajamas which I love:

http://i123.photobucket.com/albums/o286/nybella17girl/morepicsforTRs047.jpg
I didn't get DH anything because he's very very picky with what he wears.
This is a shirt from my closet that I already had and I figured I show you guys. This one is pretty popular. I've seen lots of people wear this shirt.

Believe it or not, I got them at a flea market type place close to where I live, but they are brand new. They were not used. So, when I found them, I grabbed them. They $15 each except for the gray ones with the mickeys. That one came out to $25, but I loved it so much, I had to get it.

So, here it is. I don't have much free time on my hands these days so I kinda put it together really fast, but all I did was have DH pick up a pink poster board and then printed most of the pics and images from photobucket.
You can see a lime green mickey in the bottom left corner. I figure we'll circle the days as we countdown to the day we leave.
Here are the pics of the calendar I made:

Subbing! We're also going to be there the day that you leave! I absolutely love it down there during Christmas time, this will be our 4th year in a row going in December. Last year we ate at Tutto Italia for our 1st meal, you'll really like it. If you like Tiramisu, you HAVE to get theirs! :goodvibes
Welcome.
Tutto will be my first meal too and I love tiramisu!:thumbsup2

You can add - under November 6 - "Danielle's Birthday" ...:)
Our "countdown chain" starts next Saturday - when we spring the trip on her at her "Halloween Birthday Party" - which she's only been planning for a year!! :rotfl2:
The construction paper and Disney Princess stickers are ready and waiting ...
Here's the link to how it worked in May 2007 - things start to get pretty exciting when the chain gets to the second floor!!

Well, with my trip only 31 days away, I figured it was time to start compiling some lists so that I wouldn't forget anything. So far this is what I have:
Here is the list of items I'll need to bring with me into the parks in my bookbag that I will carry everywhere:
Key to the world card
Wallets w/ I’D’s
Camera
Extra batteries
Extra memory card(s)
1 Bottled water
Small snacks such as crackers
Special tickets (mvmcp, disneyquest, HDDR)
ADR confirmation numbers
Small light for dark rides
Autograph book
Pen
Tip money for restaurants
Maps/guides
travel documents
Souvenir money
map of WDW property for when we drive
Here is a list of important items not to forget:
stroller
dressy clothes for signature dinners
dressy shoes
Princess dress and outfits
Cell phone
LGMH's
Special tickets (mvmcp, disneyquest tixx)
Stuff to do 1 week before leaving:
attach LGMH's to bags
Pay all bills
Get rid of food that goes bad
Buy batteries/ extra memory cards
Talk to teacher/get missed work
talk to bank about our travel plans (In 2006, our debit card didn't work because we didn't do this. They thought our card was stolen)
Remind work again
Make arrangements for mail
Start packing
Get car maintenance
Iron clothes
Do laundry :laundy:
Go to dollar store/walmart for last minute items
Find the ponchos in the closet
Print out directions
Confirm ADR’s
Record favorite shows to DVR
buy any medicines we might need
Study transportation around WDW and driving maps (very important as we get lost very easily)
So did I forget any obvious stuff or not so obvious stuff? Let me know!
Coming up: Even more lists......

One thing we'll need to do is check the weather and plan for a "layering" of clothes as needed ...
Don't forget band-aids and extra clothes for the DD (when she decides to take a run through one of the play fountains!!):rotfl:
Guess I should start working on my lists, too ... :3dglasses

Regarding the weather, I only live 2 hours from WDW and here in Jacksonville, it is pretty cold right now. Its been this way a few weeks and I doubt its much warmer in WDW, so yes, I would pack some extra sweaters and jackets.:thumbsup2

Are you guys still with me?!?! I hope so. My PTR is getting lonely.
Here are my LGMH's. I put holes in each one using a hole puncher and then stuck a string in them so that I can attach them to my bags and stroller.
Now you guys can spot me at the parks. I'll also probably decorate my room window at pop a little if they don't charge me for doing so.

OMG! So, I just found out on Tuesday, Veterans day that I'm pregnant!!!!!! This is the craziest news ever. I did not expect this. We were planning to have a baby next year as you can see in my title and orignal post but Surprise! 25 days before my trip, I find out I'm already pregnant. I was trying to hold off until next year because with my last pregnancy, I was very very sick with morning sickness. I still don't understand why they call it morning sickness when your sick all day.:confused3 :confused3 :confused3 Anyway, I've been pretty sick the last few days but I think overall I'm doing better than I did with other pregnancy 5 years ago, but its still pretty bad. Even the little guy with the popcorn is making me think of popcorn and I feel sick right now! popcorn::
So, I still really really really want to go to WDW and I'm going to keep trying my best to see if something will get rid of this "morning" sickness so that I won't be throwing up all over MK and the other parks all day or whoever is sitting next to me during Phillharmagic or HISTA.
DH thinks we should cancel the trip and just go for 3 days or so that way I won't get worn out and he really thinks that we'll be wasting so much money on the deluxe plan when I can't really even eat a cracker right now because it comes right back out. Plus, I already bought mvmcp tickets and they are non-refundable, but of course, I still really really want to go so as of now, I'm playing it by ear and I'm leaning more towards going and sticking with my original plan than not going. Hopefully, I will find a cure to this morning sickness before the next 18 days or so (which will be around 5 days before my trip just incase I have to cancel) and I will still be able to go. I'll keep you guys updated. So, what do you all think?

Congratulations! What wonderful news.
I say go. How long did your morning sickness last with your last pregnancy? Use that as a guide. You could always just cancel the Dining part of it, or down grade to the regular dining. And I would stay off of RRC and ToT and a few others. Plan to take a rest each afternoon and you should be fine.

With my last one, it lasted until 6 months, but I already don't feel as bad as the last one and I think I'm doing so much better this time, which is why I'm leaning toward going. I am currently considering downgrading to the regular DP even though I was so excited to try all those restaurants with the deluxe. I wouldn't even go on ToT or RnR normally so that's not even a problem. I'm not a thrill ride person. Hopefully, I can sit on the ends of theaters and shows so that in case I have to make a run for the bathroom, I can get out without disturbing everyone! :thumbsup2 Thanks.

I found with my last one that if I kept something in my mouth, usually peppermint gum, I was a lot less sick. Also decaf tea with a little bit of ginger in it, worked wonders. I got the thing of ginger in the spice section at the store

Thanks everyone. So, here's an update:
I have 2 choices. First, I can keep everything the way it is and just go to WDW, but add in a few more breaks everyday. I finally got to the doctor and they gave me something to keep the nausea under control. Thank goodness. I'm finally able to eat a little and keep some fluids down but the medication makes me very sleepy so I nap 2-3 times per day.
2nd option: Cancel the trip and use the money for a used car that I will probably need within the next few months. We already have a car, but DH must use it for work and I need my own car so that I don't have to walk to pick up DD from school when I get to big and too tired to stand up for more than a few minutes.
This is a very hard decision. I don't know if I can keep working which leaves me with the problems of how will I pay my car insurance and gas for the car anyway? But....I also really really don't want to miss this trip because If I do cancel, I won't be able to return until 2010. It's so hard to think of cancelling after all the planning I've put into it and how much I really want to go.
What do you guys think I should do?
mickeysmyboy
11-18-2008, 01:38 PM
Oh my goodness! That is terribly hard! Have you talked it over with DH? It sounds like it might be best to cancel the trip :( but, I'm not in your shoes so I can't tell you for sure.
I'm glad the dr was able to give you something to help the all day sickness! I'll be thinking of you! pixiedust:

Thanks. DH really would rather me get the car so that it will be easier on me and that's probably what I'll have to do. It just really bothers me to cancel especially after DD knew about it and was so excited. I'm thinking about just going for one day (Dec. 9th) to use my Disneyquest and mvmcp tickets just to make her happy! Plus, I don't think those tixx are refundable. We'll see what happens. I'll let you know.
joelp
11-18-2008, 08:39 PM
I'm pretty sure the MVMCP tix are not refundable ...
So why don't you drive up that afternoon, check-in for one night, go to the MVMCP, and then maybe hit a DisneyQuest or DTD the next day before heading home ... ?
If you don't go - you'll be bummed ...:sad2:
... not to mention the DD ... :sad1:
So - maybe spend about $150 for the hotel and food and stuff - plus the $150 you've already spent for the MVMCP tix ... and put the rest towards the car ...
Cuz unless you can sell the MVMCP tix, you're already out $150 ...
Just my 2 cents ... :)
Roxychica7

I totally agree. If anything, I'd go to use your christmas party tickets and go to DQ. I think you'll regret it for YOU not going, or being able to go until 2010, plus you'll regret it once DD realizes that you're not going either.
bellasmommy0
11-18-2008, 10:44 PM
I agree with all of them, at least come up for a day or 2 and put the rest of the money towards your car. It will be your last trip as a single child family to make the most of it!!

I've been dying to give my DH his Christmas present since it arrived in the mail yesterday.

11-21-2008, 01:33 PM
OK....so, I cancelled the trip yesterday. It was very sad and dissappointing to do, but its for the best. I will still go to WDW for 1 day on Dec. 9th to use our disneyquest and mvmcp tickets. (We only live 2 hours away so this will work out fine). Plus, I won't be so sad about DD being all excited lately.
I do have some great medication that works, but it makes me sleepy and I really will need a car in the upcoming months. So, for now, I will end this PTR and let you all know that I'm not giving up. In 2010, DH and I are talking about a Land/sea package. So, I'll get to go to WDW and get to go on a Disney cruise too! Time to plan!
