:jester: Hi Everyone!

We will be first time Disney Cruises - 7 nights Dec 28th - Jan 4th

My question is has anyone done the New Years' Eve 7 night cruise and what should we expect. We are traveling with our 17 yr old son.

Thank you!

We were on a 4 day cruise over New Years in 2001. It was a great trip - we boarded on Dec 31 and there were all kinds of New Years decorations and special items about the ship. Everyone had a special dinner menu (lobster, etc, and most people wore formal clothes) in whatever restaurant they were in scheduled for that evening - with champagne supplied. After dinner there were parties in each of the nightclubs and the atrium - free champagne and hats/streamers/noisemakers all round. They had all the parties linked through video so the whole ship could participate in a giant countdown. It was a fabulous time and we danced until the wee hours. The next day was somewhat subdued, but they were showing football games in the ESPN lounge. I'm not sure what they would do differently on a 7 day cruise - but I'd be willing to wager that you will have a great time!
Enjoy your cruise,
Lorraine

I'm so glad to see there will be someone else on this cruise! (Well, at least someone else from these boards!) Have you added your name to the cruise list?

Look at the beginning of this board - for the thread titled... "The New, New Improved Cruise List"... I've been the lone Dec 28 cruiser on there for SO LONG!

We did the New Year's 2002 cruise and had a ball. Everyone (and I mean EVERYONE) was dressed in gowns and tuxedos - even the kids! Disney puts on a great midnight party, complete with souvenier champagne glasses, party hats, a great buffet, and all the Disney characters dancing up on top deck. Nobody does it better than Disney. :)
