Any ideas on the press conference that Disney is holding on the 18th? Here is what I found on another thread:


Disney - (9/11/08) Disney has sent a mystery invitation out to the media regarding a major new theme park related announcement they will be making on September 18th at noon, somewhere in New York City. Zip-A-Dee-Doo-Dah Tip(s) Of The Day

As many are finalizing their packing I thought this collection of tips might help. Things you may want to bring depending on your own tastes.

Shampoo and body lotion are in your bathroom in small little packets (not bottles). You may want to bring your own favorite brand.

Both the tissue and toilet paper on board is not of the highest quality as far as softness. Again you may want to bring a favorite brand if that is important to you. If you do however I would suggest using the TP sparingly - remember that you are on a ship and it has to break down faster and better than what is used on land.

There are not a lot of outlets in the room so some people like brining an extension cord to plug things in.

If you need a hair dryer with lots of power it is suggested you bring your own as some people don't like the ones onboard.

If you like to know what time it is at night you might want to pack a small travel alarm clock. The one we bring lights up by pushing a button and gives a little extra light.

Don't forget some singles for room service and quarters if you want to do laundry.

Most of all don't forget your important documents and id's.

Last but not least - bring a sense of adventure and prepare to have an amazing time.

Tim and I swore that we were not going to add on again, but this is tempting for us, especially since we got a letter last night saying we have overpaid our escrow account for taxes and insurance on the mortage by 5,550, and they are issuing us a refund...And our mortgage went down by $300!

Well I didn't have that because it is a DVC event not just a DIS event. However to make you happy Trixie I added it (check out the edit reason). :lmao:

The announcements are exciting. A lot of buzz in the Orlando area. I am sure many more details will be to come....especially on the member cruise! ;)

Went shopping last night at Kohls. They had AWESOME clearance. I got a dress that was $69 for only $17. I got a blouse that was $39 for $6 and two tank tops for $3 each! I also got some shorts regular $29 for $5!!!! And the best part is that my mom and I went together and she paid! LOL!!!!:banana:

Diamond Jack told me in The Brown Derby at Hollywood Studios August 30th that she was no longer working at HS (formerly MGM) because she was home with her baby.

But, there is hope. Maybe she is still doing contract work with DVC and she will be at the terminal. I hope so. The utube video was hilarious. I was hysterical when she was parasailing.

Bet there will be some huge announcements on the Wonder, and thank goodness the communications Dept and Jim Lewis didn't wait to try and "surprise" us by denying it and then later announcing it like they have done with other things that have upset the members who have been supporting DVC for years!!!!

THANKS TO DVC for sending out an email today since it was in the paper BEFORE we got on the ship!

Went shopping last night at Kohls. They had AWESOME clearance. I got a dress that was $69 for only $17. I got a blouse that was $39 for $6 and two tank tops for $3 each! I also got some shorts regular $29 for $5!!!! And the best part is that my mom and I went together and she paid! LOL!!!!:banana:

Our Fish Extender gifts are on their way to the Boardwalk Villas! Very exciting! Loved the youtube video! Mimi and I were there when they first started buliding the bay lake tower. We have pictures of it when it is mostly just cleared land, construction equipment, and a few beams. We went out in the Mouse boats and went over there to check it out. Very exciting to see it nearly completed!

When Mark and I were down in April we stopped at the Contemporary and went up to the fourth floor observation deck. Looks like there is going to be a cool walkway on the 4th floor between the two buildings. We won't be adding on but I'd love to stay there some day.

I love, love, love Kohl's too! I was just there today and the cashier had me pick one of the scratch off cards for either the 15%, 20% or 30% off. When I picked one he then told me to put it back and to pick the one that he was pointing at (it ended up being a 20% card); I guess the 20% and 30% cards a just a shade lighter than the others. Just thought that I would pass that tip along to the other Kohl's addicts out there.

I bought a new cocktail dress today too! I know there is no formal night, but I enjoy having an excuse to dress up, so I may be a little dressy on "dress-up night". I get my mani & pedi on Thursday! We leave Friday for Animal Kingdom and are staying at BWV after the cruise.

My flight leaves at 2 PM and I should be in MCO by 5. :yay: I am expecting a flawless flight, since I am sitting in the princess section. princess: My key is waiting at the BWV front desk, since Frank will have way more important things to do tomorrow than wait around for me to show up. :snooty:

Hey a warning for all driving to Florida. I am not sure if this is happening all over but here in Middle Tn a few gas statino chains have refused to fill thier tanks with "overpriced" gas and have turned off thier pump. So if you are driving through Nashville, Make sure you have plenty of gas and fill up at 1/2 tank. You may not find gas. All the Mapco stations are shut down. The station I used tonight only had premium left.

Thanks Robin. That's our plan (to start looking at 1/2 tank) and we tend to avoid large cities. Plus with Mark's boss paying for the gas if we have to use premium we'll do that. ;)

The new one is the cricut expression it can cut 12x12 paper whole and do somehting with markers. the older model uses 6x12 strips of paper to cut the designs.

The elevator lines were long on our january cruise-clogged with strollers. we always take the stairs-i don't feel guilty about the second dessert at dinner! hopefully, with more adults on this cruise, the lines won't be too long.

I have the same problem, with no Annette to fix it!!! Tim has no sense of style, so if I let him pick what I pack, then he will have anything thrown in the suitcase. They will be wrinkled, and not matching! So I just overpack! And Shoes, well, I have 3 pairs packed and 1 I'm wearing...not too bad!

Zip-A-Dee-Doo-Dah Tip Of The Day

These are my last tips - I hope you have enjoyed them. I have two today both involving checking in at the terminal. They come from my good friend Karen (ohiominnie) who has sailed with us a number of times including on the 2005 Member Cruise. Her comments are in italics.

Tip #1 Make sure that one of the FIRST things you do is get your child(ren)s wristband from the clubs....

I remember hearing the story of a smaller kid who got separated, but they were very easy to get back to mom and dad b/c they had their wristband already on.

Tip #2 If you have linked dining with some other family and are expecting to be at the same table...find them in the terminal and verify that ALL of your KTTW cards have the same dining rotation and, very important, the same table number!

On the 10 day, we didn't look and when we were walking down to dinner we looked at our cards...we were table 25....my parents were table 41 (or something) OOPS!! We went to the check in desk and they were able to get us all at table 41 without a problem, but for a few moments we thought we'd be eating dinner far from my parents!

Remember that if you aren't at the same table you can go to one of the clubs and ask for changes. You should get a paper at check-in which tells you where to go.

Good morning everyone - happy Wednesday!

Last day of work for me and I've got lots to do. Two meetings this morning and a number of reports that need to be finished before I go.

Mark and I will go out to dinner tonight (a vacation tradition), we'll pack up the car and get to bed early. We're hoping to be on the road around 4 am tomorrow.

Good morning to all! We are sitting in the airport waiting for our flight.

I'm jealous! This week is going by soooooo slooooooow. Usually, I am not ready, I have to clean and pack and everything else, I don't have enough time. This time, I got everything done over the weekend. So now it is just a waiting game, and the week is crawling. I can't believe it is only Wednesday.

Annette usually packs what has been edited also. She is way more organized than myself. But i never let her live down the one time she overpacked the last night of a cruise. I had set my clothes out for the next day after putting on my nightshirt. Needless to say i went on a sight seeing tour of Miami in my nightshirt and tennis shoes.
