Dining Report #1:This will be my first ever dining review. I feel like this trip was more about dining that doing stuff at the parks so it's only appropiate to do a report over here too. We were at Disney from August 28th until September 7th. We were on the dining plan for 8 days. This was our first time doing the deluxe dining. We upgraded from the free dining to deluxe. I think it was $30 more per day per adult and $10 more per day per child. The places you will be reading about..

We had ADR's at Kona on the 29th. This was the first time we'd eaten here ever! Sidney (my husband) and I both ordered this...

http://i345.photobucket.com/albums/p398/MrsGavinDeGraw/Disney%202008/P1013781.jpg

This is called "The Big Kahuna" and is $11.99. This is the BEST breakfast I've ever had at Disney! The macadamian nut pancakes were wonderful! I'm married to a culinary graduate and we've had many flavors of pancakes...but these...delicious! Even he agreed with me! This plate is the perfect blend of everything! I am not a fan of Disney eggs, but that's just me. The potatoes were seasoned perfectly, the bacon was crisp, and the sausage and ham...also great! The french toast I could not eat...I was stuffed but we saved it for later and even warmed up it was good!

The kids tried out the kids meals..they all loved their food too. Here is what they had.

http://i345.photobucket.com/albums/p398/MrsGavinDeGraw/Disney%202008/P1013775.jpg

http://i345.photobucket.com/albums/p398/MrsGavinDeGraw/Disney%202008/P1013778.jpg

Our server was not the best but she was okay. We had to ask her for everything. The restaurant was nice and clean and we only had to wait about 5 minutes for our table. I highly recommend this place! We will be going back! If you're not a big eater the Big Kahuna is enough for two!

For lunch this day we ate at Capt Cooks. DH had the club sandwich with chips and the rest of us had chicken tenders with fruit. Everything was very good. There's not a huge selection in that food court when compared to others. I spaced out and didn't take pictures here. Sorry. Same with the pizza we bought at the Grand Floridian. The large Pepperoni and Cheese was less than $20 and was enough for the 5 of us. If you're craving pizza while at the Magic Kingdom a Pizza is just a monorail ride away!

I wanted to try the toast but these pancakes were screaming "Try us try us!!!" And I was so glad I did! The Tonga Toast sounds yum too! It's on my list for next time! I could totally enjoy this meal for tonights dinner and be a happy woman! :rotfl2:

Our first package day was here! I had planned a character breakfast for every morning of the trip. Today was Princess Storybook in Norway.
http://i345.photobucket.com/albums/p398/MrsGavinDeGraw/Disney%202008/EpcotDay124.jpg
We eat here on every trip and prefer Breakfast. Our greeter was Belle. We also saw Mary Poppins, Jasmine, Snow White, Aurora, and Mulan. We were given two of the photo packages even though we only paid for 4 meals. Children under 3 still count as a fifth person even though they don't pay. We had a woderful server that took very good care of us. The food was good, although it was better before. Something was different about the poatatoes. PSB also has a buffet area full of fresh pastries and fruit. And this is the platter they bring to the table!
http://i345.photobucket.com/albums/p398/MrsGavinDeGraw/Disney%202008/EpcotDay129.jpg

http://i345.photobucket.com/albums/p398/MrsGavinDeGraw/Disney%202008/EpcotDay130.jpg

Baby DS loved the fruit bar!
http://i345.photobucket.com/albums/p398/MrsGavinDeGraw/Disney%202008/EpcotDay133.jpg

This meal totaled $102.53 and was one table service on the dining plan.

Next up for Lunch we went to one of our favorites! Garden Grill. I know this place gets a lot of mixed reviews but if you like whats on the menu it's a must do. We've eaten here many times and LOVE it. We always have great service, the food is always hot and made just right. The character interaction is the best in all of Disney! I've had them sit down with us and hang out for 15 minutes at the time. They're always playful and you get the best pictures! At GG you meet Mickey, Pluto, Chip and Dale. The fried catfish is the bomb! And they serve sweetened iced tea! I hate to see lunch go away. It was our favorite lunch spot in all of Epcot! This is the family style platter you get! (Minus the catfish, he brought that on another plate)
http://i345.photobucket.com/albums/p398/MrsGavinDeGraw/Disney%202008/EpcotDay155.jpg
And this is your dessert...
http://i345.photobucket.com/albums/p398/MrsGavinDeGraw/Disney%202008/EpcotDay160.jpg
And for the kids they serve mac n cheese, french fries, and chicken tenders. (No pic sorry) But the kids can always eat from the adult plate too. This is the kids dessert plate. It's a "make your own cupcake!"
http://i345.photobucket.com/albums/p398/MrsGavinDeGraw/Disney%202008/EpcotDay157.jpg
The restaurant spins slowly as you eat. My kids love this! This meal totaled $72.23 for the four of us (baby was free) and we used one table service to cover it.

For Dinner we tried Teppan Edo for the first time over in Japan. This place shares a waiting room upstairs with Tokyo Dining. This was the longest wait we had for any meal...somewhere between 15-20 minutes, probably due to the pouring rain. We were seated with another family. It took the wait staff a while to get it together. we had three servers but two were earning their ears. Very sweet girls, did a great job, only super slow! :goodvibes Being on the deluxe plan you still get an appetizer. Both Sidney and I ordered the Assorted Tempura. The shrimp and chicken were very good. I did not care for the sweet potatoe.

http://i345.photobucket.com/albums/p398/MrsGavinDeGraw/Disney%202008/EpcotDay19.jpg

For dinner he ordered the steak and shrimp combo. I got the filet. This was the best steak I've ever gotten at Disney! It was so tender, OMG. This place beats Le Cellier hands down. No question! If you are looking for a good steak Teppan Edo is the place to find it! Her are some pics from our meal.

And the finished product...
http://i345.photobucket.com/albums/p398/MrsGavinDeGraw/Disney%202008/Epcot1c2.jpg

This is the kids meal, served in a monorail train! How stinking cute is this? Do they sell these plates? Anyone know?
http://i345.photobucket.com/albums/p398/MrsGavinDeGraw/Disney%202008/EpcotDay110.jpg

Everyone gets chopsticks to eat with here. My kids loved this. They'd rather eat with chopsticks than forks any day. Oh let's not forget dessert. I had the chocolate ginger cake and it was delish!
http://i345.photobucket.com/albums/p398/MrsGavinDeGraw/Disney%202008/Epcot1c4.jpg

Sidney had the fruit tart but wished he had gotten the chocolate cake.

http://i345.photobucket.com/albums/p398/MrsGavinDeGraw/Disney%202008/Epcot1c3.jpg

This was one of the best meals we had at WDW! I will be back again. Our bill totaled $117.15 for the four of us. Again we shared our food with baby DS. This place was superb! (One table service credit) This was our first day on the deluxe dining plan. We probably spent a good 5 hours at least "dining". This plan takes a lot of time away from rides and attractions. I don't think we used a single snack on this day. We were stuffed from eating every few hours. Next up ~

Cyrstal Palace, Tony's Town Square, and Chef Mickey's!

I ate there on August 30th. It was good then whatever recipe they were doing. :goodvibes The onion volcanoe was cute. The chef at the next table was a lot more showy though. He was entertainment himself. More like the chefs we get here at home. This guy was cool but a little boring.

We had a pre park opening ADR at CP and we were about 20 minutes late. It took about 10 minutes to be called for our table after I checked in. Our table was in a great spot (back in a corner but close to everything). Upon sitting down we noticed the table settings were nasty! Everything had a thick greasy film ont it. Even the glasses. It was gross! We asked for new stuff and the server got a little po'ed about it. We went ahead and hit the bar, my DD had a BBB appt coming up and we were in a hurry. Once at the bar I had to go through 5-6 plates before I could find one without left over food on it. I could not believe how nasty this place was. We've eaten here a few times before and never experienced this. The food itself looked good and tasted fine. Here is one of our plates.
http://i345.photobucket.com/albums/p398/MrsGavinDeGraw/Disney%202008/MagicKingdom23.jpg

We had been here at this point for about 45 minutes and the ONLY character we've seen was Eeyore! Piglet, Pooh, and Tigger were still way over on the other side of the restaurant. We asked the server about how long it'd take and she said, "They'll get here when they get here!"

The service was horrible and at the end of the meal she tried to force my husband to leave her more than the $10 he had put inside her book. (Too much in this case if you ask me) The bill was $65.66. She told him he HAD to leave one of these amounts listed on the receipt. Well after this she got nothing! We're both former servers and always tip well, even when the service is mediocre but this woman was out of line! When he told me what happened I was shocked. He had stayed behind with the baby and waited for Pooh. Had she said this in front of me it would not have been a good thing. It would have been on right then and there. Especially after dirty dishes, hateful remarks when asked a question, and all the slamming she did on purpose behind my head. (A whole other story) I did not catch her name but she was an older Asian woman with shoulder length hair. I had read about this going on on some old tipping threads but this was the only time we ever experienced a problem. As a matter of fact. Other servers never even pointed out the tip thing on the receipt. They'd drop it off, we wrote in CASH and everyone was happy. Will we eat here again!? NO WAY! The whole experience was horrible this time! There are way too many other places to choose from and if ya like Pooh and Tigger they're at 1900 Park fare for Breakfast! This meal takes away one table service credit.

For lunch we went to Tony's Town Square. We had to wait about 15 minutes for our table. This is a gorgeous restaurant. We had a GREAT server. She was perfect. With deluxe we ordered a sampler appetizer for two. It sounded good but we did not like it at all. Ick! All we ate from this were the green olives.

http://i345.photobucket.com/albums/p398/MrsGavinDeGraw/Disney%202008/MagicKingdom222.jpg

The server felt bad and brought us out some bread with dipping sauces. We told her it was okay. Not her fault. She even offered to bring out the calamari for Sidney but we were fine with our meals. Sidney ordered the chicken parmesan & it was superb!

http://i345.photobucket.com/albums/p398/MrsGavinDeGraw/Disney%202008/MagicKingdom223.jpg

I ordered the flatbread and it was delicious too!

http://i345.photobucket.com/albums/p398/MrsGavinDeGraw/Disney%202008/MagicKingdom226.jpg

The kids had this for an appetizer

http://i345.photobucket.com/albums/p398/MrsGavinDeGraw/Disney%202008/MagicKingdom227.jpg

And for lunch tey had Spaghetti and Meatballs (DD hated this!) and Pizza

http://i345.photobucket.com/albums/p398/MrsGavinDeGraw/Disney%202008/MagicKingdom225.jpg

http://i345.photobucket.com/albums/p398/MrsGavinDeGraw/Disney%202008/MagicKingdom224.jpg

The dessert was the BEST part! I had the Tiramisu

http://i345.photobucket.com/albums/p398/MrsGavinDeGraw/Disney%202008/MagicKingdom232.jpg

Sidney had the cheesecake

http://i345.photobucket.com/albums/p398/MrsGavinDeGraw/Disney%202008/MagicKingdom230.jpg

http://i345.photobucket.com/albums/p398/MrsGavinDeGraw/Disney%202008/MagicKingdom229.jpg

The kids each got hot fudge sundaes (something they got real sick of fast!)

Our meal came to $74.88 and we tipped about 25%. It took one table service credit. This was a great meal and perfect for lunch! I'd definitely go to Tony's again. We had a lot of fun there. Want more details? Check out my trip report. I'll be adding the Magic Kingdom day tomorrow!

For dinner we went to a family favorite ~ Chef Mickey's. We like it here and go every time we go to WDW. This time was not as good as times in the past though. It felt different. The food was good but not as good as it had been before. This ADR was in the 7 'o clock hour and most of the other times we were there at opening so maybe that's why? The service was great. He kept our drinks full and our table bussed. The salmon at CM is my favorite! It was very good like always! The characters were very playful (as usual) and we had a great time. Here are some pictures from CM's.

The kids' plate...

This meal totaled $98.51 and I would recommend this highly. It's a lot of fun and the characters are great! It was one table service credit from the deluxe dining plan.

For snacks that day we had...

A funnel cake

An ice cream cookie sandwich (this thing is HUGE)

http://i345.photobucket.com/albums/p398/MrsGavinDeGraw/Disney%202008/SnackWDW3.jpg

And these Tinkerbell sour frozen drinks...they're soooo good!

what lousy service at CP! How can someone demand a tip? And if my math is correct (may not be, LOL) isn't $10 actually 15% of the total, and when did that become an amount to be combative over? I thought that the customary tip is generally 15-20% for GOOD service. Mind you, we generally leave at least 20% unless the service is lousy (which it sounds like it was here!)

What are those Tinkerbell drinks and where did you get them?

Really enjoying your reviews. We're doing Crystal Palace (hope we get a different waitress to you!! ), Tonys, sci-fi, tusker house and kona, out of the restaurants you visited.

I'm expecting the dining to take up a fair few hours, but we're mostly doing signature dinners so only have two TS a day. We're also there for 21 days, so hopefully we'll still have plenty of time to see everything in between all the eating!

You have to go to Kona. At least for Breakfast! ;) The drinks are really sour. The only place I've ever seen them was right over the bridge into Liberty Square beside the castle. There's a little shop there on the right (I think it's called Scuttles???) I need to pull out a map and get this right huh? It's where the funnel cakes and ice cream sandwiches are too! It's a real good stop. :thumbsup2

Yes it was horrible! That was definitely our last trip to that place. Never again. Personally $10 was way too much for the service we'd gotten but after she pulled that it kind of made my husband mad. He just kept it all. We left extra for the next two servers. I'm sure they didn't mind. Did she really expect someone to hand over $2-$3 more dollars after acting that way? I would have been fired on the spot if I had pulled something like that back when I waited tables.

The tink drinks are really sour frozen drinks. The real soft ice. As soon as you enter Liberty Square over the bridge by the castle the place will be on your right. They are sooooooooooooooo good!

Keep er' going...:thumbsup2

I pray that you do get another woman. If she fits my description you better ask for another section! :rotfl2: 21 days is plenty of time. We went last year for 17 days and that was perfect! 21, even better. Are you on the plan the whole 21 days? That would be cool...you could eat at every single place or at least knock most of them out!

http://i345.photobucket.com/albums/p398/MrsGavinDeGraw/Disney%202008/DHSfirstDay2.jpg

September 1st, 2008. We spent the day ay DHS and had three meals planned. Hollywood and Vine for breakfast, Sci Fi for lunch, and 50's Prime Time for dinner. H & V we skipped. Already three meals a day was taking it's toll on us. Plus there was EMH at the MK the night before and all the breakfast ADR's I made in the 8 o' clock hour. So, we had a couple of snacks upon arrival at DHS. Frozen lemonades, a spicy cheese filled pretzel (yum) and a plain salted pretzel.
http://i345.photobucket.com/albums/p398/MrsGavinDeGraw/Disney%202008/SnackWDW10.jpg

http://i345.photobucket.com/albums/p398/MrsGavinDeGraw/Disney%202008/SnackWDW8.jpg

http://i345.photobucket.com/albums/p398/MrsGavinDeGraw/Disney%202008/SnackWDW9.jpg

For lunch we waited about 5 minutes to be sat at Sci Fi. We had a very sweet server and she took good care of us. She wanted us to get everything we could out of the dining plan. She suggested milkshakes or floats for drinks (and she said this was the only place that does this.) Even the kids can get shakes! I got a vanilla shake, DD got a strawberry shake, Sidney ordered a coke float, and DS was brought an orange soda float even though he ordered a plain soda. She went back and got the drink right away but left the float in case someone else wanted it. Here are pictures of the drinks. (Which were very good by the way!)

http://i345.photobucket.com/albums/p398/MrsGavinDeGraw/Disney%202008/DHSfirstDay15.jpg

Next up were the appetizers. I ordered the onion rings and Sidney ordered the chili. Both superb.

http://i345.photobucket.com/albums/p398/MrsGavinDeGraw/Disney%202008/DHSfirstDay14.jpg

For our entrees I ordered the ribs, Sidney got the burger, DD ordered a hot dog and DS ordered Pizza.
The rib sauce was pretty good but the meat was a little tough. I'm used to Lonestar's melt in your mouth baby back ribs and this was far from that! I was still a mess. hehe Next time I'll go for a burger too. Sidney loved his! The kids all liked their food too! Here are our meals...

http://i345.photobucket.com/albums/p398/MrsGavinDeGraw/Disney%202008/DHSfirstDay18.jpg

http://i345.photobucket.com/albums/p398/MrsGavinDeGraw/Disney%202008/DHSfirstDay16.jpg

And for dessert I ordered the apple crisp which was amazing! And Sidney ordered the cheesecake. His cheesecake came covered in cracker jacks...ewww! I like cheesecake and I like cracker jacks but NOT on one another! I thought this was gross! He said the cheesecake was pretty good, but not as good as mine.

http://i345.photobucket.com/albums/p398/MrsGavinDeGraw/Disney%202008/DHSfirstDay21.jpg

http://i345.photobucket.com/albums/p398/MrsGavinDeGraw/Disney%202008/DHSfirstDay22.jpg

We love this restaurant and the little cars you sit in. The atmosphere is wonderful. My kids think it's the coolest place ever! Would I go again? Of course. This is my fave place to eat at DHS! The meal totaled $106.55 and was one table service credit.

http://i345.photobucket.com/albums/p398/MrsGavinDeGraw/Disney%202008/DHSfirstDay23.jpg

http://i345.photobucket.com/albums/p398/MrsGavinDeGraw/Disney%202008/DHSfirstDay24.jpg

A few hours later it was time for Dinner. We were headed to 50's Prime Time.

http://i345.photobucket.com/albums/p398/MrsGavinDeGraw/Disney%202008/DHSfirstDay60.jpg

http://i345.photobucket.com/albums/p398/MrsGavinDeGraw/Disney%202008/DHSfirstDay61.jpg

http://i345.photobucket.com/albums/p398/MrsGavinDeGraw/Disney%202008/DHSfirstDay62.jpg

This was our first time going. I'd heard many good stories about the place and could not wait! We had to wait about 15 minutes for our table. We were seated in a little room which was kind of neat. Only weird thing was the big family next to us. They kept staring at us and gawking. (In a Charlie Manson way) Freaky! At first our server seemed sweet. She sat down and chatted with us for a few and took our drink orders. We were her only table back in this room. Another server had the other two tables. So anyway, she brings back the drinks. For appetizers we order the Chicken Noodle Soup and Shrimp Cocktail.

About 25 minutes later she shows up w/ the apps and blamed the kitchen for the delay. Then she left. Someone else brought out our food. (Which took another 30 minutes or more) and she never came back! For our dinner (which was ordered at the same time as the apps) I got the fried chicken and Sidney ordered the beef stew. DD ordered mac n cheese. DS ordered the chicken tenders.

http://i345.photobucket.com/albums/p398/MrsGavinDeGraw/Disney%202008/DHSfirstDay64.jpg

http://i345.photobucket.com/albums/p398/MrsGavinDeGraw/Disney%202008/P1014439.jpg

http://i345.photobucket.com/albums/p398/MrsGavinDeGraw/Disney%202008/DHSfirstDay65.jpg

http://i345.photobucket.com/albums/p398/MrsGavinDeGraw/Disney%202008/DHSfirstDay66.jpg

Sidney took our drinks to the bar to get them refilled. We never saw her again!? This picture shows what our table looked like for the duration of the meal! Nothing was ever pre bussed! Not one drink was refilled! Not one person asked how the food was. Nothing! We were ignored for over an hour.

http://i345.photobucket.com/albums/p398/MrsGavinDeGraw/Disney%202008/DHSfirstDay67.jpg

Normally we would ask WTH was going on but we wanted to wait it out and see how long it would actually take for her to come back. After everyone finished eating (keep in mind we'd been in the place for well over an hour) DD had to go to the bathroom. I said great! She'll come while you guys are gone. And she did. I was sitting there with the baby and she decides to sit down at the table and act like my best friend! I was calling her very bad names in my head. I never said a word to her I just stared (like the Manson family had done to us our whole meal). Must have been very awkward. She acted as if nothing was the matter even after seeing the table full of dishes and a mute po'ed person straring at her in awe! Sidney comes back, thank God, and asks her to remove the mess from the table. I was po'ed at him now since I had to deal with her alone. He told me to go get a manager. Which I did. I sent him to the table and left the place. I was disgusted by now and felt I'd wasted way too much time since we were now hitting the two hour mark since we had walked into the place. Sidney talked with the manager for a while, did a write up on the woman, and ordered milkshakes to go. (Manager felt bad and offered them since we had walked out on dessert!) Really ~ what was she thinking? Had I been a cash paying customer I would have gotten up and walked out of the place! I think this one outdid the woman over at Crystal Palace! This was my first and last time ever eating at 50's Prime Time. The food was decent but the service was horrible! The wait times were super long and to me, the fried chicken just wasn't worth it! The meal came to $87.33 and was one table service.

I had read many good things about it. I was shocked myself. If nothing else she has one strike against her now so maybe she'll change up the service a little. The food was pretty good there. But I don't think I'll go back after all of this.

I guess. :confused3 All I can say about our server was she aced at being absent. :lmao: I liked the little room we were in though. It was like eating in someones kitchen back in the 50's. The decor was fab!

 At first I thought he was talking about a character! One time at a party Charles Barkley (I think he plays basketball?) was trying to pick up my friend Gretchen (in a really dirty tone of voice) and she thought it was one of our co workers. She smacked him a good one and told him where to go. It was hilarious. Here he thought he was this big shot that any woman would want and that happened in front of everyone! :rotfl2: She had no clue who he was. And after she found out she still didn't care! I'm sports ignorant!

Okay, I'm back with new pictures!!! Finally. I t feels like I've been uploading pictures now for a week. Ugh! Anyway today we have some yummy places! First for Breakfast we have O'Hana. We always eat here on every trip and it's always good! The service, the food, the characters.....all of it! Here you get to meet Mickey, Pluto, Lilo, and Stitch. The food is served family style. You get a big platter like this:

http://i345.photobucket.com/albums/p398/MrsGavinDeGraw/Disney%202008/MKSept279.jpg

http://i345.photobucket.com/albums/p398/MrsGavinDeGraw/Disney%202008/MKSept280.jpg

http://i345.photobucket.com/albums/p398/MrsGavinDeGraw/Disney%202008/MKSept277.jpg

The potatoes are sooooooooooo delicious and the meats too. I don't like the eggs but that's just me. DD and DH can't get enough of them! You also get pineapple bread and plate of fruit. All very good. Somehow the bread and fruit disappeared before I could get pictures. (Yeah, that good.) They have their own juice there too. (Very good, not too sweet)

http://i345.photobucket.com/albums/p398/MrsGavinDeGraw/Disney%202008/MKSept278.jpg

This is all you can eat. They'll replenish your food as long as you want. During the meal they do a little character conga line around the restaurant. Kids love this! Make sure you have your cameras ready because you'll want some pics.

This meal came to $65.66 for the four of us. The baby eats for free. This is one table service on the dining plan.

This is the specialty cupcake they brought out for us.

http://i345.photobucket.com/albums/p398/MrsGavinDeGraw/Disney%202008/MKSept285.jpg

Next up we went to The Plaza for lunch. This was our first time eating here. I had read mixed reviews so I wasn't sure how we'd like it, but this place is AWESOME!!! This was one of the best meals we had the whole trip. On the deluxe plan you get an appetizer but nothing appealed to me. Our server asked if I'd like some fruit and she brought me this! Does it look good or what!? And yes it was just as good as it looked.
http://i345.photobucket.com/albums/p398/MrsGavinDeGraw/Disney%202008/MKSept213.jpg

Sidney ordered a salad and loved it.
http://i345.photobucket.com/albums/p398/MrsGavinDeGraw/Disney%202008/MKSept214.jpg

Then for our entrees he ordered the club sandwich. He said it was phenominal.

http://i345.photobucket.com/albums/p398/MrsGavinDeGraw/Disney%202008/MKSept219.jpg

And I ordered the chicken sandwich (also very good)
http://i345.photobucket.com/albums/p398/MrsGavinDeGraw/Disney%202008/MKSept217.jpg

The kids each got a grilled cheese
http://i345.photobucket.com/albums/p398/MrsGavinDeGraw/Disney%202008/MKSept215.jpg

http://i345.photobucket.com/albums/p398/MrsGavinDeGraw/Disney%202008/MKSept216.jpg

For dessert the kids tried the Mickeylodeons
http://i345.photobucket.com/albums/p398/MrsGavinDeGraw/Disney%202008/MKSept220.jpg

I ordered the banana split
http://i345.photobucket.com/albums/p398/MrsGavinDeGraw/Disney%202008/MKSept222.jpg

And Sidney ordered the Cheesecake
http://i345.photobucket.com/albums/p398/MrsGavinDeGraw/Disney%202008/MKSept221.jpg

Everything was delicious and we were stuffed. Two people can easily share a sandwich in this place! Also the sweet potatoe chips...wonderful! She brought us a side of those out too. No charge. We had a great server! This meal totaled $68.66 and was one table service on the dining plan. We will be back! I think it's my new favorite table service at the Magic Kingdom!
Dinner is at 1900 Park Fare....pictures downloading now. I'll have a post soon I hope.

Sorry your 50s PT experience was so poor. There is no way I would have waited that long without service. You guys were way patient! Sadly, your review was not the first I've read detailing abominable service there. I'm starting to get concerned about our ADR.

Thanks for the wonderful photos and reviews!

WooHoo; finally caught up; glad to see you survived yur foray into dxddp; since we're doing it next time, could you tell me what you would change? Also, we were at CP the 13th and although our server was definitely better than yours, there wasn't nearly as much "magic" this time; we celebrated DS's B-day there last year, and there was confetti and streamers covering the table, plus a lovely card signed by all the characters... the table next to us had a b-day, and there was a little sprinkling of confetti... plus, the server actually came to the line to tell us we needed to go sit down b/c Tigger was coming. In the past, if you missed a character, they'd "fit you in" to the rotation b/fore you left. But he told us if we didn't go back and sit down, we'd have to wait an extra hour:confused3 (yeah, like they want to waste a table for an hour, but, um, o..k..) Otherwise, it was fine. Not a ten, but o.k.- plus, it was the only place open for lunch on 2 days notice (thanks to Ike, we got an extra day). I'm really sorry now we cancelled Teppen Edo; we'll have to get it in next trip! Can't wait to see more:thumbsup2

Yeah us too. Sometimes I feel like the servers just expect the money and don't really care how they treat you. Then others are wonderful!?

Well we were curious to see when and if she'd ever come back. Then when she did she acted like she'd done nothing wrong. That was the strange part if you ask me! I passed it over for years and we finally try it and get that! Oh well. Now I know. Never again. :sad2:

Thank you.

WooHoo; finally caught up; glad to see you survived yur foray into dxddp; since we're doing it next time, could you tell me what you would change? I'd book a bunch of two service creadit meals. We did have the Luau and the Backyard BBQ on ours and still missed out on two breakfast meals and were stuffed. If you are going with 8 or more you can use the credits up easy doing the grand gatherings. Plus you have the signature restaurants, and those take 2. The other option....if you get there early enough to use all of your credits on your firsr day and stay sort of late on the check out day you could eat that last day too. It's like getting an extra day out of the plan. If nothing else you can get breakfast. We loved it but next time we have to do it different (or take a ton of people and share with them). But he told us if we didn't go back and sit down, we'd have to wait an extra hour:confused3 DH and I were doing an anniversary thing that night and they had our table decorated and gave us a card. Everything was there when we sat down though. Server never mentioned anything. I didn't care though. We were celebrating that night, not that day. I guess when they ask you about celebrations they type the stuff in for the entire day. We only saw one character the whole time! My husband stayed with the baby and caught the others but me and the older kids had to leave. We'd been in for close to an hour and only Eeyore had come by. He was a doll though! (yeah, like they want to waste a table for an hour, but, um, o..k..) Otherwise, it was fine. Not a ten, but o.k.- plus, it was the only place open for lunch on 2 days notice (thanks to Ike, we got an extra day). I'm really sorry now we cancelled Teppen Edo; we'll have to get it in next trip! This is a fun meal, especially for Cinderella fans! You get to see Cindy, Prince Charming, Lady Tremaine, Drizella, and Anatasia. (I hope I spelled that right) I like this set up much better than the old that included the mice and FG. The step sisters are a lot of fun.

The food is a buffet. It's packed with all kinds of stuff. Unfortunately for me, not much I liked, but for others it could be their dream buffet! This is the carving station.

http://i345.photobucket.com/albums/p398/MrsGavinDeGraw/Disney%202008/MK190018.jpg

Here are some dessert samples. They looked pretty good.

This is the celebration cupcake

http://i345.photobucket.com/albums/p398/MrsGavinDeGraw/Disney%202008/MK190031.jpg

We didn't take pics of our plates because we barely ate anything. We liked the old buffet better. There were several meals then we loved. Not so much now but the food presentation was very good if you liked the stuff and the service was okay. Our guy was busy trying to keep up with a big party but he got everything we needed.

We ordered DD a special treat. This is the chocolate slipper. I think it was $14 plus tax. My daughter LOVED it and the kids ate the whole thing! You can order these through the cake line.

This was our first visit to Tusker House since they changed over to table service and it was superb! This was one of the best Breakfast buffets we've ever had at Disney. I can't think of another that has a selection this big! We were there for about 45 minutes and some characters came by twice. They do move fast though. They also do conga line dances ever so often and kids love this! This is a new favorite. As a matter of fact I just booked the free dining offer that was recently sent out and Tusker House is on my list once again!

The characters...you get to see Donald, Daisy, Mickey & Goofy dressed in the cutest safari outfits!

http://i345.photobucket.com/albums/p398/MrsGavinDeGraw/Disney%202008/0AnimalKingdom38.jpg

This one gets a five star rating IMO. Great buffet, fun characters and good service. The total for this meal was $65.66 and was one table service on the dining plan.

Next up....we're ready for lunch at ~

http://i345.photobucket.com/albums/p398/MrsGavinDeGraw/Disney%202008/0AnimalKingdom93.jpg

Appetizers...Por Egg Rolls and Pork Pot Stickers. DH loved the egg rolls but there was enough for four people! It's a huge appetizer serving! The won tons were pretty good. A little bit tough but still okay. I will say the pot stickers at Kona were a LOT better.

http://i345.photobucket.com/albums/p398/MrsGavinDeGraw/Disney%202008/0AnimalKingdom94.jpg

For our meals I chose the Crispy Honey Chicken & Sidney ordered the Shaoxing Steak and Shrimp. All very good!

http://i345.photobucket.com/albums/p398/MrsGavinDeGraw/Disney%202008/0AnimalKingdom100.jpg

And the DS ordered the chicken bites w/ double white rice...

http://i345.photobucket.com/albums/p398/MrsGavinDeGraw/Disney%202008/0AnimalKingdom97.jpg

The best part of the whole meal was the dessert here. We ordered the Fried Wontons. It was amazing! OMG I can't even tell you how good this was! It's Gavin DeGraw good and those of you who know me...well, you know how much I love that man! This is one dessert you definitely want to try out at the Animal Kingdom! This is the description of this dessert.

Skewers of fresh pineapple and cream cheese wontons, vanilla ice cream, honey vanilla drizzle

http://i345.photobucket.com/albums/p398/MrsGavinDeGraw/Disney%202008/0AnimalKingdom101.jpg

The other dessert we ordered was the Raspberry, Lemon and Mango Sorbet (also very good!)

http://i345.photobucket.com/albums/p398/MrsGavinDeGraw/Disney%202008/0AnimalKingdom102.jpg

I don't know if we'll eat here again but we will order that dessert to go! The restaurant was very nice. Service was good. Food very good but at Animal Kingdom has the best counter service meals of any park and we kind of missed those this time around! The total for this meal came to $74.26 and was one table service credit on the Disney Dining Plan.

Last but not least for Dinner we went to the second seating of Spirit of Aloha. This was our first time doing this and although it had mixed reviews we wanted to try it anyway. The show was great! We were seated in level 2 seats to the left of the stage. The seats were okay. Had I been in that upper level I would have hated it! We were right there where level one is cut off from level two. The food, not my style but I knew this going in. I study the menus for months ahead of time when we're planning a trip to Disney. So I wasn't expecting a whole lot. But, the chicken I actually liked a lot. And the pineapple. The children ordered the optional meals. (Which were hot dogs, PBJ, and mac n cheese) I had a little bit of the mac n cheese but it wasn't very good. This shows what is on the table when you sit down (along with a pitcher of water...you pour your own)

http://i345.photobucket.com/albums/p398/MrsGavinDeGraw/Disney%202008/0AnimalKingdom8.jpg

Then they bring this platter out and if you need more of anything they bring it to you.

http://i345.photobucket.com/albums/p398/MrsGavinDeGraw/Disney%202008/0AnimalKingdom9.jpg

Your dessert is presented like this...smoking from a volcano

http://i345.photobucket.com/albums/p398/MrsGavinDeGraw/Disney%202008/0AnimalKingdom12.jpg

But you actually get served this

http://i345.photobucket.com/albums/p398/MrsGavinDeGraw/Disney%202008/0AnimalKingdom13.jpg

It looks very weird to me but it wasn't too bad. I'd hate to be stranded on an Island with nothing to eat but that but it was okay. I don't know if we'll do this again but I wanted to try it out for myself. I'd never pay out of pocket for it but since we upgraded from free dining to deluxe we gave it a shot. I would think with the perfect seat this could be amazing. (Front and center) Another thing they offer here are drinks served in the coconut. You can get anything added to these and they're so cute! They also make a bank for ya later.

The show lasts a really long time. The music and dancing are very good but the fire twirler steals the show! Everyone loved his performance. They also let the kids come on stage, which they really enjoyed.

And the adults are encouraged to come up and dance at times too. I say try the show at least once. Avoid that third level unless you bring a telescope! It looked liked that upper level went on and on up there. The meal here cost $163.95 for the four of us. Gratuities ARE included for everyone. It takes TWO table service credits when you use the Disney Dining Plan. I'd never recommend doing this unless you are on the deluxe plan, I'd hate to lose two needed credits on this. But, if you're on DLX it's hard to eat all that food so this is a nice break. That's it for now. Next up Cape May Breakfast, Le Cellier, and O'Hana.

I'd say about 2.5 hours. I'm a picky eater. So the food would probably please most people. The kids were into it at first but we're bored midway. DD fell asleep! DS put his head down on the table and dozed off. The baby loved it. I woke the older two up though to watch the fire show. But nah, it wasn't their thing. They loved Mickey's Backyard BBQ though!

Funny thing--we went to Spirit of ALoha in 2005 and didn't care for it too much either and my family is from Hawaii. I grew up Polynesian dancing (since I was 5 y/o), so luaus are not my thing, anyway. Once you have seen one, you have seen them all--Disney or not ;) But my kids wanted to see it, so we went. The food was ok, and the entertainment...well let's just say my kids agreed with your kids, they fell asleep :rotfl:

Anyway, I was wondering if you guys have done the Hoop-Dee-Doo Review? We are doing the DxDDP next August and want to know how that was. My DDs are 12 and 10 y/o and we all thought it would be fun and as you mentioned, break up the monotony of eating 3 TS meals per day :)

Maybe it puts all kids to sleep? :lmao: I have not tried the HDDMR yet. I have it planned for August '09 though. It doesn't sound like something I'd like a whole lot but I think my parents will. The backyard BBQ is great though. We enjoyed that! And that kills 2 table services too!

For years we'd wanted to try out Cape May Cafe but we never had time. This time with deluxe dining we made it a must do. It was great!!! The food, the service, the characters....we loved it all. The buffet had something for everyone and it was easy to get to. Not crowded at all like some buffets at Disney. The characters were all dressed up so cute in swimsuits! I didn't take any pics of the bar or our plates but I do have a couple of the characters.

For Lunch we had...
http://i345.photobucket.com/albums/p398/MrsGavinDeGraw/Disney%202008/EpcotDay234.jpg

Sorry to say it but this restaurant gets way too much hype. It's good but it's nowhere near as good as the Japanese Steakhouse...Teppan Edo. I had a filet at both and TE was a LOT better. I think it gets the reputation because it's super small and it fills up fast. (Making it hard to get into) And when this happens....well, people want it more and then it's in demand.

Anyway, I ordered the mushroom filet and it did not come medium well as ordered but moreso medium. Still good and I ate it instead of taking a chance on it getting burned again like last year.

http://i345.photobucket.com/albums/p398/MrsGavinDeGraw/Disney%202008/EpcotDay238.jpg

Sidney ordered this...and he said it was yum!

http://i345.photobucket.com/albums/p398/MrsGavinDeGraw/Disney%202008/EpcotDay237.jpg

DD got this and loved it!

http://i345.photobucket.com/albums/p398/MrsGavinDeGraw/Disney%202008/EpcotDay235.jpg

And DS got this....said it was "okay". I think he was sick of the same meal three times a day.

We had the goofiest waiter ever. He was really bad but the good thing is...he kept disappearing and when he'd leave he left a friend of his in charge...that guy was great and got us everything we needed. So it all worked out. We had great service, just not from our server if that makes sense. LOL

Oh, for apps...I didn't even take pics this time but I ordered the Duck. Sidney had it last year and it was delicious. This year it was completely different and looked disgusting. None of us would touch it! Sidney ordered the Cheese soup. I had this last year and it was gross but this year it was really good! I don't get it? It was time for dessert and that's always good here! I ordered the Choclate Mousse so the kids could have that.

The meal came to $121.01 It was pretty good for lunch and we will probably come here again next year with our family. However if I were only dining in one or two Epcot places this would NOT be one of them!

Epcot has some great snack options! This is some of what we saw (and ate) in France!

O'Hana

I always tell people...if you like to eat meat you will love O'Hana! This was our second visit and it was just as good as the first (although it has changed a little...) They start you off with some amazing potstickers, sticky wings and salad!

This is a really good meal! If the kids don't like the stuff you see here they can order other items...cheese noodles, hot dogs, chicken tenders, etc. The dessert we did not try this year. We were stuffed, tired and ready to go. It was the same as last year though and was good...it's some sort of bread pudding.

If you book your seating just right and get a window seat you can catch Wishes during your meal. Last year we did it by accident...this time we did it on purpose. It's so nice to see that during your meal. They also have dances and stuff for the kids (or anyone really).

We love O'Hana for Breakfast and Dinner! We always have a good time here. I will be going back....The meal came to $87.56 and was one table service on the dining plan.

If you want to read more check out my full on trip report in my signature link. Until next time....:wizard:

I consider this "dining" and we did it so why not review it? :lmao: This cost about $40 per kid. (Way too much if you ask me) I think it used to be twenty something which is a bit more expected for what they get. Don't get me wrong...it's cute and all, just not worth the price they charge!

Parents are not allowed. You bring your kids in and drop them off. This is how the table looks when the kids first sit down. It's really cute!

They serve ham and cheese sandwiches, PB & J, grapes, etc. The kids also get a plain cupcake that they get to decorate with icing and Mickey sprinkles. They play games like hide and seek. They have a picture made with the Mad Hatter and Alice (but in ours she had serious red eye!) You would think they'd take a second to repair this. The folder is autographed by the characters and is really cute. Alice and the Mad Hatter do not stay the whole time. DS says they stayed about 20 minutes. When the parents come back in the kids pretend they are sleeping.

http://i345.photobucket.com/albums/p398/MrsGavinDeGraw/Disney%202008/111MNSSHP08MK197.jpg

Suddenly they wake up and go surprise and hand over flowers and their picture to their parents. The flowers are pre made by the way. The kids do not make them.

Fun and cute but a one time deal for us! I think we'll try the Aurora Tea Party next time!

We had Breakfast here the same morning as the tea party...at Breakfast you get to meet Alice, the Mad Hatter, Mary Poppins, Pooh Bear, and Tigger. If you want to see Pooh and Tigger AVOID CRYSTAL PALACE and go here! The food is so much better and the place is cleaner!!!

Mary Poppins sat down with baby DS and talked him into eating his food. Tigger was so playful...maybe too hyper. He was all over the place. Pooh was so sweet and kept coming back over and over. Alice took time to play with DD and she really enjoyed this. The Mad Hatter was cool too but we had to wait on him. He went MIA all of a sudden and it took him forever to come back.

They have the made to order Omelet Bar here. DH loves this! There's plenty of food to choose from...our server was very good too. Never did a drink go more than half empty! Unfortunately we did not take a single pic of the food bar. I do have a few with the characters though...

Again I did not get pictures of the food...we were too excited about the MNSSHP I suppose. The food was good thoough...my oldest DS is a picky eater so he complained about the traditional turkey feast and they brought him out Chicken tenders and FF. Our server was good but he wasn't very personal. He did his job well and left it at that. Being it was a MNSSHP night the charaters were dressed up in their costumes....way cute I might add! They were great...they even made two rounds to our table and we weren't there for very long! Here are some pics from that...

We'd already tried Kona for Breakfast and it was amazing! Best breakfast I've ever had at WDW so now we were going for lunch. We were a little late. We'd stopped at DHS to get a bunch of those specialty shot pictures and that killed a good half hour. It took about a minute to get seated. Our server started off pretty good but towards the end he disappeared. (To do his closing duties I suppose)

As for the food...for appetizers Sidney ordered the chicken noodle soup (very good)

http://i345.photobucket.com/albums/p398/MrsGavinDeGraw/Disney%202008/Sept6th28.jpg

And I ordered the potstickers

http://i345.photobucket.com/albums/p398/MrsGavinDeGraw/Disney%202008/Sept6th26.jpg

These were sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo delicious! I tried them at three different places on this trip and Kona's were the best!

Both kids ordered this...

http://i345.photobucket.com/albums/p398/MrsGavinDeGraw/Disney%202008/Sept6th29.jpg

Sidney ordered the club

http://i345.photobucket.com/albums/p398/MrsGavinDeGraw/Disney%202008/Sept6th31.jpg

He could not eat it....something was on the sandwich that made it taste funny. I was really surprised because Sidney will eat anything but he said this was bad, really bad. Of course this is the time our server is MIA. We asked someone to go and get him but it still took another 15-20 minutes for the guy to come back. He asked how the food was and of course Sidney let him know. He didn't want to offer a replacement but I think he realized he'd have to. He gave the "grill is off" excuse which was total BS...Kona was about to start seating for Dinner! Eventually Sidney got this!

http://i345.photobucket.com/albums/p398/MrsGavinDeGraw/Disney%202008/Sept6th32.jpg

And this made him happy.

I ordered the grilled chicken sandwich. It was pretty good. I love the sweet potato chips.

http://i345.photobucket.com/albums/p398/MrsGavinDeGraw/Disney%202008/Sept6th30.jpg

For dessert Sidney ordered this for the kids...(they were sick of the same ole junk on every kids menu)

Got a question on the potstickers....only had duck once and that was 12 years ago and it was a mistake... I thought it was little chicken breasts :goodvibes

Were they gamey or overly ducky? Is there a strong flavor coming through or is it similar to dark meat chicken....

We will be at Kona in a few days and I really want to try these this time!

That breakfast os one of the best. The Big Kahuna is the perfect sampler but if I go again I think I'll just do the mac pancakes....YUM. That was the best part!

That's the Kona Kone ? (Cone)....it's on the adult menu but the kids were sick of the "Hot Fudge Sundae" on the kids menu. All it consisted of was ice cream, mickey head sprinkles, and chocolate sauce. After about the 10th time I'd be grossed out too. So Sidney just ordered this and let them have it. Is that the way they present a Kona Cone now??? And what is that other beautiful looking dessert?

That's how it came to us on September 5th. I think they may have changed the menus here recently. I'm not sure what this chocolate dessert was called but it was heavenly. Inside there was a liquid chocolate...OMG it was so good. One of the best chocolate desserts I've ever had in my life! I can't wait to eat at Kona again...

We LOVE Teppan Edo too! In fact we ate there twice on our Honeymoon in June!! We even had the same chef. We are going back on Thanksgiving Day!

Thanks for all the great reviews!

Oh that's cool...did you request him or get lucky? We're 7 this time. I wonder if they'll sit a stranger at our table. Last time we had these three people who never said a word. :lmao: You hear all this hoopla about Le Cellier but it;s only a matter of time before people figure out THIS is the place to get your steak at Epcot. Soooooooooo much better. We're going again in December. Can't wait.

Great review, can't wait for more.

I'll have a new one soon....

I know...it's been a long time and I am so sorry! Before I even finished the Aug/Sept trip we ended up booking December w/ free dining too. (So I will have a whole new dining report coming in the next few days!) In the meantime I am going to complete part one! I don't know how I forgot to add on Mickey's Backyard BBQ but I did.

http://i345.photobucket.com/albums/p398/MrsGavinDeGraw/Disney%202008/Sept6th36.jpg

This one is a dinner show. It takes two credits on the Disney Dining Plan. It is held over at Fort Wilderness on select nights during certain months.

This is a charater meal...it's a HUGE picnic with music, games, and dancin' too! The best part ALL THE ICE CREAM YOU CAN EAT!!!! Here is where I fell in love with the Minnie bar! This one, like the luau, includes some booze. Beer, Wine, etc. I passed. I don't want to be lit up with my three kiddos at Disney. :rotfl2: (Even though I needed it...)

It's outside, under a shelter. Not too hot though. They have fans going. I will say this....bring a table cover with you. These picnic tables are icky...you'll want a table cloth. I read this before going and ignored the advice. Eww! Do it. K? The baby LOVED this one! Would I do it again? Maybe...if we took friends. It was a lot of fun. Here are some pictures....

Tomorrow I will start with December! That one includes a Grand Gathering too! Until then...

Great report!

On those cute "monorail" style plates from Japan- they were selling them when we were there last July- but they were $68 so we passed on them. Especially since I imagined them shattering on the floor at home.

Ooo thanks to your cool new signature I just found this report and of course had to read it. Great report so far, its making me so excited as we have a lot of the same places. Great to hear you loved Tusker House so much, and Teppan Edo as that is one of the ones I am most looking forward to. We loved Garden Grill loads too but the food was a bit different when we went. The character interaction there was top notch though, as was 1900 PF. I am glad I didn't change our Sci Fi ADR to 50's now too.

Ooo thanks to your cool new signature I just found this report and of course had to read it. Great report so far, its making me so excited as we have a lot of the same places. Do you like that? I had so many things I needed to keep up with so I was thinking...why not present it a neat organized way? It's so much easier to find stuff. You have a lot of threads too...this would work for you. I like it because it looks like buttons with links beside them. You need to do a dining report too! Great to hear you loved Tusker House so much, and Teppan Edo as that is one of the ones I am most looking forward to. We loved Garden Grill loads too but the food was a bit different when we went. They have changed a couple of things in the past three years. The character interaction there was top notch though, as was 1900 PF. I am glad I didn't change our Sci Fi ADR to 50's now too.

Let me say this...Sci Fi we only like for lunch. I do not like the dinner menu at all. I had a bad experience at 50's last time but we are giving it a second chance in August. I loved the theme of the place....it's tight in there but it's worth one more shot.

Yes it looks great and makes it easy to see what reports and things you have without having to search around. And yes I plan to do a dining report, although I will probably put all the details in my normal TR too.

Last time we went to Sci Fi I think it was for dinner. I had the BBQ chicken sandwich which only seems to be on the dinner menu which is a shame as I really enjoyed it and part of the reason we wanted to go back. The burger looks good though so I might try that. We probably will try 50's one day, but TBH the menu doesn't really appeal to either of us much. And I think it would be one that would be better to do with Mum, Dad and Sophie as they would like the atmosphere and setting.

I am here!! I loved your food report. I am trying to decide whether to stay onsite or off. The only way I will stay onsite is for the free DDP. You report is really tempting me to do the DDP. I think that the DxDP would be WAAYY too much for us, and it will tame too much time away from the parks for the kids. Being that it is our first visit I am not sure we want to spend half the day eating!! :lmao: I also see that they have the Quick service dining as an option this year as well. Thanks for the inspiration and the great reviews.

Well, you get 3 credits per day but some things take 2. Dinner shows for one. I see that you have kids. The backyard BBQ is great for kids. The Luau was nice too but my kids fell asleep. We're trying the HDDMR in August. Your signature dining and Cinderella's Royal Table take 2 credits each as well. Also, if you stay at a value you can use two credits to get pizza! (Deluxe includes one pizza, breadsticks, 2 desserts, and a 2 liter!) If you go during free dining and upgrade it's less than basic dining would cost! That's what we do!

1900 Park Fare is a lot of fun! :thumbsup2

The December dining will be out of order. Since I just did a write up in my trip report for Teppan Edo I just copied it over to here. Makes things easier. Can't do this every single time but it worked out with Teppan Edo. Enjoy...

This past Summer we tried a new place (to us) called Teppan Edo...

http://i345.photobucket.com/albums/p398/MrsGavinDeGraw/Disney%20Christmas%202008/December%2019th%20Epcot%20Day%202/WDWXmas2008322.jpg

It was very good! I had a filet and it was so tender and delicious! You could cut it apart with your fork! We have a lot of the Hibachi places here and they're great too but we all know a coca cola in the 20oz bottle just tastes better in Disney! (So does Hibachi...) We fell in love with the place and the people. If you guys follow Punkins report you might remember reading about the "tank yous"....they do this constantly...they're so poilite and gracious to everyone. That's what I like about it. It's very authentic. Here your chef could be a pretty long haired blonde surfer boy...food tastes great and he looks hot but you know what I'm sayin'...

Well, we had to go back and take my parents this time. We did basic free dining so we didn't get the tempura. I ordered the filet again. I don't remember what everyone else ordered but you can see it in the minute when I show you the food cooking...

This is the waiting area...you look into Tokyo Dining (they are right next door to one another). Our longest wait has been about 15 minutes. It does feel longer because you can hear and smell this food being cooked!

http://i345.photobucket.com/albums/p398/MrsGavinDeGraw/Disney%20Christmas%202008/December%2019th%20Epcot%20Day%202/WDWXmas2008321.jpg

The kids ordered the Tempura combo so their food came out pretty fast in these "bullet trains". Ha. Forget that. MONORAIL dagnabbit! I don't care what the perfectionists say. Here are the kids eating out of their monorail dishes...

We all got our yummy food and everyone loved it. At Teppan Edo you don't just have one server. There's a main server then he has helpers that refill drinks, get extra plates, etc. Well our server was Japanese...of course, and he could barely speak English. It was time to order dessert and he and Ashley had a major language barrier. :lmao: I understood what was being said but I wanted her to try and figure it out. She looks over at me and says, "Can you just order me some damn ice cream!!!!!???" I about lost it. I finally ordered for her and my parents...then when he left we were all :rotfl2: ! I had tears rolling down my face. Not at the server...he was wonderful...but at my sister and dad.

The dessert selection is not very good here. You can choose from green tea pudding, chocolate cake, or ice cream.

http://i345.photobucket.com/albums/p398/MrsGavinDeGraw/Disney%20Christmas%202008/December%2019th%20Epcot%20Day%202/WDWXmas2008341.jpg

I've only had the chocolate cake. I give it a 5 out of 10 but the other food...10+ every single time! We used to go to Le Cellier for steak...TE is so much better! When I started planning our meals for August I let the kids write down their top three places to eat. It wasn't Chef Mickey's like it used to be, it was Teppan Edo. Both of them. I see a lot of people on the boards ask if kids would like TE...evidently they do! :rotfl2: Just to round out their top three (which was the same amongst both of the older kids...)

1. Teppan Edo
2. Garden Grill
3. Chef Mickey's

This is a really fun place to eat! I've been twice so far and loved it both times. Server/Chef was great both times! Food was superb!Atmosphere...wonderful!

In December we went during the free dining promo. It was so late in the game we decided to do the basic dining instead of upgrading to deluxe so the next few posts will include some counter service options as well. ;) After doing the deluxe in September I ended up hungry on this plan. :rotfl2:

Caribbean Beach Food Court Pizza

Flame Tree BBQ counter service...

The ribs were pretty good so I was told but the corn muffin was GROSS. The baby threw it at the birds. They didn't complain but none of us ate it. It was so dry and tasteless. My daddy said it was like eating sawdust! LOL

http://i345.photobucket.com/albums/p398/MrsGavinDeGraw/Disney%20Christmas%202008/December%2014th%20Animal%20Kingdom%20Day%201/AK14.jpg

This is what my mom and dad got....

This is what me and Sidney ate...the Pork Sandwich and Half a Chicken

http://i345.photobucket.com/albums/p398/MrsGavinDeGraw/Disney%20Christmas%202008/December%2014th%20Animal%20Kingdom%20Day%201/AK16.jpg

The pork sandwich was great! My daddy makes a killer pulled pork sandwich and this one was pretty close to it. The meat was tender and very lean. It was cooked to perfection. Now the FTB BBQ sauce doesn't hold a candle to the one my daddy makes but it was okay. I'd totally eat here again!

http://i345.photobucket.com/albums/p398/MrsGavinDeGraw/Disney%20Christmas%202008/December%2014th%20Animal%20Kingdom%20Day%201/AK18.jpg

Sidney said the chicken was pretty good too but again....he was disgusted by the corn muffin.

Sidney got the chocolate cake for dessert. Normally he likes the chocolate cake at WDW but said this one was dry and did not taste very good. He ended up throwing it away. It was pretty though.

We had amazing service when we were there earlier this week and the food was just incredible. The whole thing was just a blast. Our kids all got the teppan offering at Teppan (instead of the Tempura) so I didn't see those plates until reading your review They are adorable! but $68!!!!!! omg. Teppan was the kids favorite, hands down.

Just re-read the whole thread to get ramped up for the new updates! Funny, My 10 yr old twins got to pick the restaurant they wanted to eat at on their b-day, and they both picked Teppan Edo!

I think this place is increasing in popularity daily. Two years ago I never heard anything about it. Now it's one of the most talked about places at Disney!

I'm giving PT another go in August. I just got a bad server. Things happen like that sometimes. I loved the atmosphere and the food was okay. I don't care for the menu but my hubby loved his food! The kids menus are about the same everywhere...so they didn't have too much to say.

O'Hana! We love this place! This was our third time eating here. I'd just been in September but my parents had never been and I really wanted them to try it. (And they loved it too!) I don't know that I'd send my vegan friends to this place but if you love meat....you will really enjoy yourself here! The atmosphere is fabulous and the nightly entertainment can be a lot of fun. It is loud though so if you're not into that kind of thing.....stay away. Two times we have been seated by the window during wishes. It was really nice too! If you time it just right you can do this too. We just got lucky both times by making late ADR's but I read a lot that people plan it this way on purpose. It's a great show. Now for the food....

Normally this restaurant spins slowly while you eat but on this visit it was broken. :sad1: We've eaten here at least a half a dozen times and it's always been realy good. Sometimes the service is okay, other times it superb but I've never dealt with anyone bad. The food is always great! I always order my steak medium well and ask for crispy friend catfish (sometimes it's a little "soft") and they are always happy to do it. We've never left hungry or unsatisfied! I prefer a table on the bottom level. I forgot to ask for it last time but the upstairas table we had was okay since it was two pulled together. The booths are just better. When we get in a booth the characters sit with us, hang out, draw pictures...things like that. The kids love it!

Dinner starts w/ a salad...

Again if you want more Garden Grill details look back a little. There's more in an earlier post. I wanted to add a picture so you could see how things were when we went. It was December 17th, 2008 when I took this at dinner time. Epcot was like a ghost town!

Tusker House breakfast...Another family favorite. Wide variety of food. Something for everyone! The characters are a lot of fun here. It can be loud and it's always busy when we go but it's a must do for us! It's one of our favorite character meals!

If you want to see more details of the food look back to our first Tusker House review. It shows the buffet. In this post it's pretty much characters only. How cute are they!?

They are inside the place where you get your counter service. I forget the name of that place but they have a bunch of things in there to choose from.

For sure! I'm planning August right now too. We're doing deluxe dining again. We plan to try a lot of new places too. Can't wait. :yay: Think about the kinds of places you will like. Character meals? Some people hate them, others love them. Where do you want to eat? Epcot has the biggest selection of all the parks but you wont find a cool drive in movie theatre there. (Sci Fi is wonderful) The food is okay but it's not about the food there...it's the atmosphere. For my parents I planned a lot of buffets/all you can eat places. For us we like a mixture of both. I leave for WDW in one day! When I get home I will start posting menus.

OT- But, do you think that you can share your Dad's pulled pork recipe. I found one online, but it didn't turn out that great. Thanks!

I would love to...but it's in his head. :lmao: No matter what he configures it's always delish. The pork he cooks the same way but the sauces...he does a vinegar based mustard sauce...a super spicy "so hot it lights you on fire" sauce....he makes about 30 different kinds! People have told him forever to open up his own restaurant. :goodvibes

Hi guys! I took a little break and went to WDW March 4th through the 12th. I'll have a bunch of new stuff to add from that trip pretty soon. For now I'm going to go ahead and finish up December. Next up ~

Pepper Market at Coronado Springs ~ This is a gorgeous resort! We stayed here once two years ago. They are in the process of being refurbed right now and the new rooms are gorgeous! This has some people calling it the new "deluxe" resort. I definitely want to check it out again!

http://i345.photobucket.com/albums/p398/MrsGavinDeGraw/Disney%20Christmas%202008/December%2018th%20Animal%20Kingdom%20Day%202/WDWXmas2008214.jpg

I had the chicken and pasta. It was very very good! Enough for two people to share really! The chicken was so tender and the sauce had a great flavor.

Teppan Edo is wonderful! It's the best place for steak and my kids LOVE it!? I never thought that would become one of their favorites but whatever. We also love Garden Grill...the food (if you like that menu) is superb. (And the characters are so much fun here...I have a LOT more pics in the trip reports if you wanna see more). The Wave we never tried but I did go in last month. The walkway is really neat but the menu did not sound good at all to me.

Did you know even with free dining you can upgrade to deluxe and pay the difference? That's what we do. That way you get three nice meals each day about anywhere you want them. It makes the shows (2 credits) easier to swallow and CRT. You've made some excellent choices in your planning! :thumbsup2

As I was reading I was wishing for DXDp but we are going under the 4/3 at the Poly. Its almost $700 cheaper for us than free dining. We are a family of 5, like you, only our kiddos are between 3-8yrs old. First trip that we have to pay for all 5 - boy was that a sticker shock.

You only make out on free dining if you stay at a value resort. People will argue this with me but if you get a 40% off deal or the 4/3 like you did and stay anywhere other than a value the 40% off is much better than the free dining deal. You pay OOP for dining and you still save money. Especially at the Polynesian. You guys save hundreds by paying for the plan and getting the cheaper room! Now if you don't mind value resorts free dining is a great deal. I loved the Polynesian when we stayed last Summer. We were on the third floor with a direct view of the Magic Kingdom. Watching Wishes from the bed was wonderful! My next trip is 13 nights on the deluxe dining plan. I can not wait! 4 months and counting...

Probably so. I was told that all of the potatoe dishes went to no trans fats and it really changed the taste of the breakfast potatoes at O'Hana and Princess Storybook. I used to love the ones there but now they're not so good. They change desserts according to the season. In the Summer time you get the berry pastry and in the Winter time it's a bread pudding dessert. Both are very good though.

B Le Cellier

Your ADR list is making me hungry! :yay: One thing though, I'm pretty sure Le Cellier doesn't serve breakfast (of course, I could be wrong, I often am LOL)

I was just looking at menus again and The Wave for Breakfast sounds good. Has anyone tried this? I don't care for the apps during dinner or lunch and the food there isn't my thing. So many decisions...too much time. :lmao:

Hopefully. We'll have to compare once we finalize everything. I'm waiting on the hours. You probably are too. A bunch of us Diser's got together and we're doing our own Grand Gathering. Your family is welcome to join us. We're doing all three GG in August. It's going to be FUN! I can't wait. We're dining for 13 nights so that's 39 credits...but three are 2 credit things so really we have 36 meals.

On my list I have things as B L & D. That day we're actually having an early lunch at Le Cellier, a late lunch/early dinner somewhere else, then a late dinner in another place. I know...crazy, but there's so many places we want to dine at. We're trying to fit them all in. I wish there was another breakfast choice in WS. That would be nice. PSB is good and all but I am sick of it being the only choice in Epcot for a nice sit down breakfast. Hello!? Disney!? Do you hear this!? :rotfl2: I fixed the typo. Thanks for letting me know.

Kona....one of my favorite places to have breakfast (even though the service is awful!) I always get the same lame waitress. I'm lucky I guess. :lmao: PB decided not to upload my picture of the macadamia nut pancakes (Heaven on Earth!) As mentioned before during the first dining experience these babies don't even need syrup. The butter alone is enough to do the deed. As much as I'd like to try the Tonga Toast I don't think I could. ;) Once again Sidney chose the Big Kahuna Platter. I had this last time and this sampler is delicious! A little bit of everything but not enough of the pancakes!

All three kids had the Minnie's French Toast this time. You get a choice of meat on the side with this and a drink. Your choice.

http://i345.photobucket.com/albums/p398/MrsGavinDeGraw/WDW2009March/March7th%20MK%20DHS%20Muppets/0bb379ab.jpg

While I'm here I'm going to go ahead and add a yummy snack. The Tinkerbell sour slushy. This drink is so good! You can find it right across the Liberty Square bridge on your right. It's one snack credit!

http://i345.photobucket.com/albums/p398/MrsGavinDeGraw/WDW2009March/March7th%20MK%20DHS%20Muppets/March7th77.jpg

This is a frozen sour raspberry drink....not too shabby either.

http://i345.photobucket.com/albums/p398/MrsGavinDeGraw/WDW2009March/March7th%20MK%20DHS%20Muppets/March7th60.jpg

And this was an iced coffee. It didn't last long. I'd like to call this ice with a little coffee on it. :rolleyes1

OMG the potstcikers are the BEST! I've had them all over Disney and here at Kona....they are the BEST! I could totally eat up an order right now. I am hungry just thinking about it. The wings are now an app for two. Leave it to Disney. I guess they are trying to discourage people from getting the deluxe plan now!

Ok these are the ons I have tried that you are planning to (and haven't tried yet) -

Wolfgang Puck - which one do you mean? We tried the cafe last year (the downstairs restaurant) and it was a nice setting and the food was different and nice. I wouldn't rate it one of my tops (Nick loved his ribs) but would reccommend trying it.

Boatwrights - we have done both breakfast and dinner and really enjoyed both. The staff were lovely, and the food was really good.

HDDMR - OMG the best show in Disney. You have to try this, it was brilliant. So funny, the food was great and we managed to get the best seats in the house. We really weren't expecting to enjoy this half as much as we did but we loved it and can't wait to do it again.

Coral Reef - Great location, and the food was actually much better than I was expecting. However I wouldn't rush back as the staff are so damn rude and really spoiled the meal for us. The trouble is as well is Sharks Underwater Grill at SW is one of our favorite restaurants and CR just doesn't measure up in food, location, atmosphere or staff. If you ever get chance to go to SW try this restauran, it is great.

Big River Grille - We haven't actually been to the one at Disney but we went to the one in Chattanooga and really enjoyed both the food and atmosphere. I wonder if this one measures up?

I wouldn't rate it one of my tops (Nick loved his ribs) but would reccommend trying it. We're going to try the table service option. Not the "upstairs" place or Cafe that's counter service. I think it's just WP's Cafe? We've never eaten on the dining plan at DTD. We'd eaten at Rainforest many times but we had vouchers for that.

Boatwrights - we have done both breakfast and dinner and really enjoyed both. The staff were lovely, and the food was really good. Good to know!

HDDMR - OMG the best show in Disney. You have to try this, it was brilliant. So funny, the food was great and we managed to get the best seats in the house. We really weren't expecting to enjoy this half as much as we did but we loved it and can't wait to do it again. This one I'm not sure about but it's the only show at WDW we haven't tried so I want to give it a shot and see what the hype is about. I'm really looking forward to it. I do wonder if they have alternative food for kids like the other places. Mine hate fried chicken and everything else here but the cornbread and strawberry shortcake. DId you see any kids get different food? They have Pizza right there at Trail's End and they share a kitchen so I wonder if they could just bring them some pizza?

Coral Reef - Great location, and the food was actually much better than I was expecting. However I wouldn't rush back as the staff are so damn rude and really spoiled the meal for us. The trouble is as well is Sharks Underwater Grill at SW is one of our favorite restaurants and CR just doesn't measure up in food, location, atmosphere or staff. If you ever get chance to go to SW try this restauran, it is great. This place I tried in '06 and I had the biggest B as a server. I made a huge fuss. I put her in her place and got the manager involved. I'd never in my life had such crappy service and the attitude! Dear lord. It was something else. The guy seated us in a big table which made her mad to start with. Then she rushed us through our drinks and app and all but told us what we should eat. People don't do that to us. In the end the apps and drinks had been served. We wasted a whole 40 minutes or so at her table which she did not get a tip on! And the manager had words with her in front of us. We ended up going to the Garden Grill instead. The manager begged us to just move to another section and she apologized but it was too late for me. I left for what I knew was good. That's the only time I've had to set someone straight there. I gave her a little training session on HOW to wait on tables. Boy you should have seen her face! Anyway, it's been three years now and I am hoping after all that and a written complaint at guest sevices they've gotten their act together somewhat! I will be trying lunch. What did you have here?

Big River Grille - We haven't actually been to the one at Disney but we went to the one in Chattanooga and really enjoyed both the food and atmosphere. I wonder if this one measures up?

I'll let you know. :goodvibes Thanks girl for sharing. If you have pics from these meals I would love for you to share!

http://i345.photobucket.com/albums/p398/MrsGavinDeGraw/Disney%202008/DHSfirstDay2.jpg

Both superb.

http://i345.photobucket.com/albums/p398/MrsGavinDeGraw/Disney%202008/DHSfirstDay13.jpg

http://i345.photobucket.com/albums/p398/MrsGavinDeGraw/Disney%202008/DHSfirstDay14.jpg

Her face is etched into my mind forever. Believe you me if I get her or that woman at Kona again I will ask for someone else. I think I'm going to give 50's one more shot this trip. See what happens. While looking at menus I saw that the Grand Floridian Cafe has a lobster benedict meal for breakfast. That sounds yummy. I might have to try it. I know you ate there but I'm thinking it was for lunch, not breakfast. Am I remembering right? I have the basic ADR's outlined but this week I am going to finalize things. Yes it was the WP Cafe we tried, not the Express. I haven't got pictures from there for some reason, maybe as it was our last day and I was just to sad. But we shared spring rolls with hoi sin and mustard sauce to start which was very nice. Nick had hoi sin ribs with fries and I had chicken sandwich with provolone cheese and aioli which came with kettle chips. I asked to swap the chips for fries, which they forgot but I didn't mind as me and Nick just shared. However when the waitress realised she insisted she brought some fries and was really nice about it, but I was just too full to eat them but felt so bad I tried to.

At Coral Reef Nick had the Pork Chop which he really enjoyed

http://i214.photobucket.com/albums/cc117/sammiekwidzinski/WDW%202008/DSC02440.jpg

And I had chicken with almond, parsnip and pesto, it was very, very good

Do you know I have heard a lot of bad reports on the staff at CR. One family their waitress read through the menu so fast and when they asked her to repeat it she treated them like they were thick. Then she brought one of them the wrong appetizer and when they told her this she argued with them, despite another table telling her they had heard them order too and that she had brought the wrong thing. When she eventually brought the right thing she literally chucked it at them. They decided to leave too, and the manager begged them to stay, so I guess they are pretty used to it.

Thank you so much for posting those pictures! The pork chop looks tasty. And you were right. You guys had some really good seats! Wow. You'd be on the stage if you were any closer. I hear they seat you according to when you make your ADR. I wonder if that is true!? Love that you showed off the menu too. Thank you so much!

I wonder what's up w/ CR? They need to get in some trainers or something. A different woman brought out the apps and slammed mine down in front of me and she slid the kids things across the table! I was like W T H!?

I ate there a couple of times but it was during the 1900 remodel so the Cinderella meal was in there. It was so good we went twice. Now 1900 is so bad! The lsat time I had the buffet I wanted to get up and leave. I think I ate some fruit and dessert. That was it.

Me too! I'm actually doing a grand gathering for the second half of our trip. I've printed out all the menus from EVERYWHERE. I made a binder for each family. It's the first trip for all of them. I've wrote little notes about all the places we've been and we have to eat at. We are the only ones that have upgraded to the DXDDP though.

So far we have...

HDDR
Beaches n Cream
Biergarten
Coral Reef
CP
Sci-Fi
50's
Mama Melrose
GG
1900 PF
PSBB

CM
CRT
HDDR
Beaches n Cream
Biergarten
Coral Reef
CP
Sci-Fi
50's
Mama Melrose
GG
1900 PF
PSBB
Yach steakhouse

This is what I have so far...You?

Looks good! What a great friend they have in you to do all of that for them. :thumbsup2 We're doing a Grand Gathering too. Some friends I met on here are going at the same time and we're doing all three. Last December I did a GG w/ a Diser and we did the Tony's Breakfast. (I need to add it here soon) This time we're doing that again but we're also doing the safari and Epcot party. I can't find much at all on the Epcot Illuminations gathering. Have you seen anything? We'll have to compare binders. :lmao: Sounds like we might be the same kind of planner. (It's all good.)

This was our last breakfast on our last day. The GG's are only offered certain days of the week and they fill quickly. You must have a minimum of 8 people in order to book a Grand Gathering. These babies can still be booked 180 days out too! I'll tell you now, the food is not as good as most other breakfast places you eat at. It's pre plated and all you can eat. Just don't expect Tusker House or Chef Mickey's because it's not like that! When you arrive at the podium (you need to be there a little before 9am. That's when it starts) you check in and get seated. The eralier you arrive the better seats you get. Keep this in mind!

Once you're seated you'll see a basket full of pastries on the table. I don't eat this kind of stuff so I don't know if they were good or not. They looked good.

Each family gets their own turn with Mickey and he hangs with them for a while. There is a photopass person there too to capture it all. You also get a special VIP seat for Mickey's Philaharmagic. We didn't do this since we'd seen it the day before.

I don't know the cost if this meal. We used one table service for it. It's the only GG that takes 1 TS credit. The others take 2 each.

Don't go here expecting the best meal ever. This is all about the "party". We had a great time and I have another one planned with friends in August. Overall it was a fun experience and yes, I do think it's worth the one table service. If you have any questions feel free to ask and if any of my readers have done the Safari or Epcot GG's please share your pics and opinions. I;d really appreciate it.

That Tony's GG looks cool! For 1TS you can't beat having a private meeting with main mouse himself! and especially for MK's lack of TS breakfasts, this looks cool! We're only a party of 2 1/2 though!:lmao:

That's Tony's Town Square. It's off to the right after you enter the MK inside the Exposition Hall. It's Italian food. Pretty good...I just don't care for their app selection. :goodvibes

THANK YOU SO MUCH!!

I have been wanting to hear more about the tony's GG breakfast. It sounds like fun and the food looks decent. I have a question though, you said it starts a little before 9. does this mean you are allowed to enter MK before rope drop? If so, how early? We have discussed doing either the CP breakfast or Tony's GG. I would like to do Tony's for the smaller party but REALLY want to be able to see Mainstreet before MK opens. It would be awesome if we could get in and take pictures of the quiet and still do to Tony's

Yes...you are supposed to be there 15-30 minutes early. The earlier you come the better your seats they say. I'd think they'd let ya in around 8:15. I'm not sure. We're doing it again in August so we'll find out then. We wont be as close to 9 again this time. We want that front row close to the action seat!

Wanna trade one for a segway pin? Didn't you each get a segway pin on the tour? Do you get one for every tour now? Tony's is nice. I love the desserts there.

Love your pics! :)

Thanks! I have plenty more to add. I need to get to it don't I? :goodvibes

Our last meal December trip. I'm trying to get to March, really...I'm trying. We had done out last official meal with the Liberty Tree Tavern characters back in September. We were so sad to see them go and we knew it'd never be the same. I sure wont be going back now that they're gone to eat turkey!

Well, free dining came up again in December and I decided to bring my mom and dad. LTT was still the same and I had to take them there! I loved the old LTT. The characters were so great there and the food wasn't too bad either.

My parents weren't real happy with the Tony's breakfast so I was hoping they'd love this place! (Yeah, keep in mind I took them to eat at Tusker House before this...not smart when you're trying to make an impression. Tusker House is a hard one to beat for breakfast.) So anyway we went in early. They were hungry and we crossed our fingers that it wouldn't take too long. We waited about 20 minutes to be seated.

As always the food was nice and yummy and the characters were a pleasure. The whole experience is a great read that I don't care to write again. (Feel free to read about it in my December trip report)

Here's Sidney enjoying the dessert

This is one of our favorite places to have counter service! It's located inside the Animal Kingdom Lodge. The restaurant is nice and open. Never seen it crowded really and its clean. I've always been given the best service here. Food is cooked after you order so everything is fresh and delicious!

http://i345.photobucket.com/albums/p398/MrsGavinDeGraw/DISNEY-SUMMER2009/Day%20One/eight2213.jpg

We ate our first meal here this past trip. We went for 14 nights total. 13 of those we had free regular dining. On this extra night we bought a QS dining package since adding a day to our 13 night trip was not an option.

Back to the yummy food....my oldest son had the cheese flatbread.

http://i345.photobucket.com/albums/p398/MrsGavinDeGraw/DISNEY-SUMMER2009/Day%20One/eight2212.jpg

My hubby, poor thing had not slept much here, had the fried shrimp platter. My daughter and I had the same thing. The fried shrimp are big and crispy. They come highly recommended!

http://i345.photobucket.com/albums/p398/MrsGavinDeGraw/DISNEY-SUMMER2009/Day%20One/eight2210.jpg

My other son had the chicken nuggets (like the ones at every CS place) with fries. Very good! No picture though.

For dessert we tried a paw print brownie...

http://i345.photobucket.com/albums/p398/MrsGavinDeGraw/DISNEY-SUMMER2009/Day%20One/eight226.jpg

And the Zebra Domes!

http://i345.photobucket.com/albums/p398/MrsGavinDeGraw/DISNEY-SUMMER2009/Day%20One/eight228-1-1.jpg

I did not taste the brownie myself but those zebra domes....OH MY GODDNESS, they were YUMMY! You will see the Mara again as the trip goes on. We had driven down without any sleep and had only taken about a 1.5-2 hour nap after we arrived. We stayed at the Pirate rooms over at CBR on our first night. They're really nice I might add. I'll show a couple of pics. We enjoyed staying here but the rooms are so far away from everything! We even drove to the pool!

That night we had dinner back at CBR. The kids had the sand bucket kids meals. I had the buffalo chicken sandwich and Sidney had a burger. The food was okay over there. Nothing spectacular but it came out pretty fast and everything was clean. The selection is decent too. I do remember having some of the best cookies ever for dessert! I didn't take my camera though. No sleep...no brain power. LOL

We make up for it the next day though! We will feature some eats from Teppan Edo, Sunshine Seasons, and Pop Century! Until next time....

Today was our first day on the dining package. We booked this trip as a bounce back in 2008 so we knew it was coming for a year. Plenty of time for planning right? I'm sure you guys can tell by now Teppan Edo is one of our favorite places to eat. We have plenty of Hibachi places here and they're all pretty good but there's something different about Teppan Edo. Maybe because everyone there is Japanese!? Makes it feel more authentic? I don't know. I know this much....the place is consistent. Service is great and the food is always delicious!

http://i345.photobucket.com/albums/p398/MrsGavinDeGraw/DISNEY-SUMMER2009/Day%20Two/eight2315.jpg

Teppan Edo is located in the Japan pavilion. You can take the stairs out front or the elevator located next to this talented lady.

http://i345.photobucket.com/albums/p398/MrsGavinDeGraw/DISNEY-SUMMER2009/Day%20Two/eight2316.jpg

The lunch and dinner menus are the same so it doesn't matter when you go. I have found lunch to be a little more convenient. We've never waited more than 5 minutes to be seated and the servers are standing there ready to refill your drinks, etc.

http://i345.photobucket.com/albums/p398/MrsGavinDeGraw/DISNEY-SUMMER2009/Day%20Two/eight236.jpg

http://i345.photobucket.com/albums/p398/MrsGavinDeGraw/DISNEY-SUMMER2009/Day%20Two/eight237.jpg

I never would have guessed this place would become a family favorite. My kids 3, 7, and 10 absolutely LOVE this place! They always ask me to book it twice when we go. When given the choice of Teppan Edo or a character meal TE wins out every time!

http://i345.photobucket.com/albums/p398/MrsGavinDeGraw/DISNEY-SUMMER2009/Day%20Two/eight234.jpg

By the way....the kids meals come in the cutest bullet train dish!

http://i345.photobucket.com/albums/p398/MrsGavinDeGraw/DISNEY-SUMMER2009/Day%20Two/eight238.jpg

http://i345.photobucket.com/albums/p398/MrsGavinDeGraw/DISNEY-SUMMER2009/Day%20Two/eight2311.jpg

We were full after lunch so we shared one of these....GREEN TEA PUDDING! It tastes a lot better than it looks!

http://i345.photobucket.com/albums/p398/MrsGavinDeGraw/DISNEY-SUMMER2009/Day%20Two/eight2314.jpg

Not too many pictures of this meal but it was great like always! My daughter and I had the filet. Sidney had the steak and shrimp, and my son had the kids tempura chicken and shrimp.

After lunch we headed over to China! We go to Disney a lot but I had never taken the time to watch these kids do their acrobatics. They were fantastic! Their performance and the movie on China were the highlights of our day! Here are a few pictures...

Hi quick question where do you get the tinkerbell frozen drinks?? Thanks!!

The place we used to get those at the MK no longer has them. Why they would remove such a popular drink I will never know. We asked if somewhere else in the park had them and they said no. I have not looked high and low but I've yet to find them in the places we have been.

As you all know we had lunch at Teppan Edo so we were open for dinner. We decided on Sunshine Seasons inside The Land. This place has a very extensive menu to choose from. There's a little bit of everything there but you will not find chicken nuggets, pizza, and french fries here! If you're sick of the same ol' counter service options you must check this place out! They have several different stations you can pick and choose from.

I always end up with the salmon. It's good and I love it, so why mess up a good thing? Salmon with double mashed potatoes....

http://i345.photobucket.com/albums/p398/MrsGavinDeGraw/DISNEY-SUMMER2009/Day%20Two/eight2336.jpg

Sidney has tried several different items though and he has plenty of good things to say. This time he had the pork chop which was huge! He couldn't finish his meal and this man eats a lot!

http://i345.photobucket.com/albums/p398/MrsGavinDeGraw/DISNEY-SUMMER2009/Day%20Two/eight2339.jpg

My daughter likes the chicken leg meal and usually gets this.

http://i345.photobucket.com/albums/p398/MrsGavinDeGraw/DISNEY-SUMMER2009/Day%20Two/eight2337.jpg

The boys had the kids meals in a box!

http://i345.photobucket.com/albums/p398/MrsGavinDeGraw/DISNEY-SUMMER2009/Day%20Two/eight2343.jpg

Oh, and for those of you who like lemon juice in your water....SS has it! I picked up a few extra for my trip!

http://i345.photobucket.com/albums/p398/MrsGavinDeGraw/DISNEY-SUMMER2009/Day%20Two/eight2341.jpg

The dessert selection here is over the top! They have a little bit of everything. This past trip I discovered the BEST dessert WDW has to offer. The chocolate crumb coffee cake. This cake was heavenly! Never again will I go to Epcot and not sample this delicious cake!

http://i345.photobucket.com/albums/p398/MrsGavinDeGraw/DISNEY-SUMMER2009/Day%20Two/eight2340.jpg

Sidney chose this chocolate cake for dessert but ended up going back in and using a snack credit for his own slice of coffee cake!

http://i345.photobucket.com/albums/p398/MrsGavinDeGraw/DISNEY-SUMMER2009/Day%20Two/eight2338.jpg

The kids split a huge chocolate chip cookie!

http://i345.photobucket.com/albums/p398/MrsGavinDeGraw/DISNEY-SUMMER2009/Day%20Two/eight2342.jpg

We got back to Pop pretty late that night. We bought a couple of meals and split them between the five of us.

We ordered chicken with penne pasta and a chicken nugget basket.

http://i345.photobucket.com/albums/p398/MrsGavinDeGraw/DISNEY-SUMMER2009/Day%20Two/eight232.jpg

Whoa!!!! At the lemon juice packets!!!:rotfl2:

I put a lot of lemon juice in my water! Those little packets come in handy. After a day or two w/o my lemon water I start craving it like crazy. OMGosh...I took pics for you yesterday. They're on my phone so they're not the best quality but it will show you how the Margaritaville here is set up. I'll add them here in a few. K? :goodvibes

Margaritaville is located inside Broadway at the Beach. It has two floors of indoor seating, outdoor patios and a huge outdoor bar as well. Located in the Heroes Harbor section of Broadway makes for the "boat" look, which is perfect for Margaritaville!

This picture is taken from the Boardwalk area. Across the way from Margaritaville you will see remnants of the Myrtle Beach Pavilion. If you've ever been to Myrtle Beach you are familiar with the Pavilion. It was a staple in our community for many decades. A few years ago they took it all away. Pieces of what used to be can now be seen here, at BATB.

In the Summer you couldn't get this kind of picture. The place looks like a madhouse and the wait is usually over 3 hours! It's a really fun place to hang out though. It's like a carnival over there.

Anyone who travels to Myrtle Beach should definitely check out this area. They have a Disney Store, Build A Bear, Hard Rock Cafe, Mini Golf, Magic Quest, Ripley's Aquarium, IMAX....tons and tons of stuff to do here.

And now, back to my food report.

Yep! This is one of the busiest & biggest ones! You can't tell by these pictures with it being off season and all though. ;)

SS works just like the food court at Pop. You get whatever you want and at the end they ring you up for it. The dessert selection is insane over there but I'm telling you....that choclate coffee crumb cake is the BOMB! :thumbsup2

It is amazing! You guys are doing deluxe right? Well, you can always go and use a snack credit! I think I will save up all of mine and get a loaf to bring home. Ha! I'm going crazy thinking about that cake. Agh!

This location is big huh!? You would LOVE this one. You guys have to come visit soon! For real! O M Gosh! SHAG is one of the best movies ever made!!!!! Ya know I saw a copy in Hell Mart a while back. I need to go buy one. I haven't seen it in a really long time. The blvd looks so weird girl. It's so trashy looking now. You see this patch of grass all the way to the ocean and all around it you see nasty run down motels and porn shops. It's so gross! I wish our town would pass some new building codes. Some things around here look like poo and could really use a makeover!

Chef Mickey's ~ A place my family would always journey to for at least one night of every trip, until now.

http://i345.photobucket.com/albums/p398/MrsGavinDeGraw/DISNEY-SUMMER2009/Day%203/August2447.jpg

I'm not sure what happened during the refurb but it is not the same now. Our server was wonderful. The place is set up nice and it's clean. The food and the service at the buffet....NOT SO GOOD! I personally went just for the salmon. It had been the same for years, or perhaps I just got lucky on every visit and got the good stuff. I wasn't so lucky this time. I could tell right away it would be different just from looking at it but I took a piece anyway. It was terrible! The only thing I tried that tasted okay was the Mickey Ravioli and the Tortellini. It was the worst meal of the trip.

I went back to the buffet to try the carved meat. The fellas making the cuts were caught up in a conversation amongst themselves, in their native tongue. Must have been about 20 of us lined up waiting for them to finish. Then they take their sweet time when they do resume the cutting. You could see people back in the line getting agitated. I was close to the front thank goodness. Still, it took me about 15 minutes to get served.

We decided during this meal if we ever eat at CM again it would be for breakfast. It was such a big disappointment.

http://i345.photobucket.com/albums/p398/MrsGavinDeGraw/DISNEY-SUMMER2009/Day%203/August2410.jpg

The characters this time were not as playful as before. They just came to the table, took pics, and ran off. We were skipped by a couple of them and had to talk to a CM to get them back in the room. It wasn't just our table they missed. It was the entire section!

Hey Tammy! I'm here! I've already read this report though. I don't know how I lost my subscription, but I'm back now! :confused3

I just had to say how sweet that is of you to say about your DH.:lovestruc It is so nice to see a wife say that about her husband nowadays. I almost never hear women talk nice about their husbands anymore. I have a wonderful DH too. And I agree, I love him more now than I did 12 years ago when we got married. He was so good to me when I had my emergency hysterectomy this summer. I couldn't have asked for anything more. He is a wonderful father too. And I think he is even getting bit by the Disney bug! But it is very nice to see another woman have something nice to say about her husband. We should be very thankful that we have good ones b/c there are a lot of duds out there!:worship:

You are so silly!! You know I'll be calling you on Sunday...however, the question is..."will you answer the phone?" lol I'll be calling you on Friday and Saturday as well but you already knew that. If I have to hear my daughter ask if she is going to be hanging out with your daughter one more time...

"I forgot to tell you....you see the surfboard table? Sidney built that! It's so cool! I love my honey....he's so good at everything! I never thought it was possible to fall more in love with someone after 11+ years of marriage!"

Hey Tammy! I'm here! I've already read this report though. I don't know how I lost my subscription, but I'm back now! :confused3 Yay!

We should be very thankful that we have good ones b/c there are a lot of duds out there!:worship: I realize just how lucky I am when I read about others being cheated on and abused and having these selfish men who only care about themselves. I am so blessed. I got real lucky. I'm happy you were too.

Can't wait to read the rest!

I've been busy with school over here and remodeling the house. We're almost done. I'll share pictures then. Now I need to get back to this and finish it up!

:rotfl2: Ickey's Well!? It's fitting. lol

I know what you mean about the food at 1900 Park Fare being terrible this year , our meal there was so gross ! We however decided to give CM a break this year and after your review I'm very glad we did ! 1900 used to be one of our favorite places to eat, now I avoid it like a neighbor with swine flu!

I know I've said it before but I'm gonna say it again I absolutely love those pictures in the barber shop , they def need to be in a frame on your wall :) I agree. They're so cute and they say something.

Looking forward to your next review ! popcorn::popcorn:: Coming soon!

Tammy!!! So glad to have caught up with you here. I am going through Tammy TR withdrawls :sad1: so I am happy that I will get a little taste of your latest trip on here. You lead in to your trip was looking like so much fun (especially looking forward to you refereeing your sister's fight ) So....I will settle for your amazing food pictures and anticipate our girls only trip in the future.:woohoo:

Aww. That's sweet. Well here I am. Lots more to come. I'll cover the fight...just for you, when the time comes!

You are so silly!! You know I'll be calling you on Sunday...however, the question is..."will you answer the phone?" lol I'll be calling you on Friday and Saturday as well but you already knew that. If I have to hear my daughter ask if she is going to be hanging out with your daughter one more time...

:rolleyes1 I plead the fifth. I had fun this weekend! We could have had a LOT more if I'd looked at those damn emails. Grrr! :headache: I'm an idiot! If I could kick my own butt I would. I'm going to go do those pics here in a few. Do you care if I share our weekend here? I LOVE the pics of your mom and dad. Of course the one we did with Brian can't be posted on the Dis. :rotfl2:

August 25th was our next day. That morning we went to Blizzard Beach. We saw Colleen and her family there. This was our first time meeting her husband Jim. We hung out for a bit in the wave pool but most of our day was spent on the family raft ride. (Mine, Gabby's n Bolt's anyway.) Sidney and Dash spent the day on the big slides doing their thing. We had lunch at Blizzard Beach and I took pictures but I used the waterproof cameras and they're still in the cam. Anyway, the food over there is the fast food counter service stuff but its good. No complaints. The people who work there are over friendly too. At the end of the day I left with sore feet and a mild sunburn. Sidney on the other hand chose not to wear sunscreen at all so he was burnt very bad. He usually tans in 5 minutes so figured he wouldn't need it. WRONG ANSWER DEAR!

After we returned to Pop and got a shower we decided to head over to the Boardwalk for dinner. We didn't have any set reservations for this day. The Big River Grille and Brewing Works doesn't require a reservation so we headed there.

http://i345.photobucket.com/albums/p398/MrsGavinDeGraw/DISNEY-SUMMER2009/Day%204/eight255.jpg

We were seated immediately. The place is known for its beer but neither of us care for beer or wine so we passed. Our wonderful server came over and took our orders. I got the salmon with double mashed potatoes.

http://i345.photobucket.com/albums/p398/MrsGavinDeGraw/DISNEY-SUMMER2009/Day%204/eight2513.jpg

Sidney ordered the steak and shrimp

http://i345.photobucket.com/albums/p398/MrsGavinDeGraw/DISNEY-SUMMER2009/Day%204/eight2514.jpg

Both meals were simply delicious! One of, if not the best meal, of the entire trip! I will be going here again! Excellent service and excellent food! As for dessert....they don't have a whole lot of options but what they do offer is superb!

Sidney ordered the cheesecake

http://i345.photobucket.com/albums/p398/MrsGavinDeGraw/DISNEY-SUMMER2009/Day%204/eight2515.jpg

and I ordered this chocolate with extra chocolate cake

http://i345.photobucket.com/albums/p398/MrsGavinDeGraw/DISNEY-SUMMER2009/Day%204/eight2516.jpg

Everything was so good. This is one of the best kept secrets at WDW! I highly recommend it. Oh, remember how I said Sidney got a little too much sun? What do you think?

http://i345.photobucket.com/albums/p398/MrsGavinDeGraw/DISNEY-SUMMER2009/Day%204/eight2510.jpg

Next time get a base tan and put the sunscreen on! LOL Poor thing. He was miserable for days after. His back got the worst of it.

The boardwalk was dead that day. I don't think I'd ever seen the place so slow. We took a little stroll before heading over to DisneyQuest.

Ahhh I always end up getting hurt in that silly boat ride in DisneyQuest, but it does make me laugh . I'm glad to see someone review the Big River Grille. We went to the one in Chattanooga and really enjoyed it, and I fancied trying the one in Disney but haven't really heard much about it. I will have to fit in a visit there some time in the year I am there :rolleyes1

As I was saying in the last post...I was out most of last week. Caught an awful cold, ick. The we started a new program for school this week and I'm still getting all of that together. So far its going great! I'm finally getting back on track. I'm not just ignoring Dis. I'm ignoring everyone other than my kiddos and I apologize for that. (Tell them Tiana....its true isn't it!?)

So...anyway. I have some new pictures if I can find them. I came across my current favorite picture of myself. Ya'll wanna see? I thought it was kind of funny.

http://i345.photobucket.com/albums/p398/MrsGavinDeGraw/100_0399-1.jpg

I just went to load in the pics from Tiana's party but they disappeared. I get it. It's all good. We do things like that sometimes. Not a problem. Uploading them again. It'll only take a second.

TeeKee (aka Tiana) is one of my best friends. We've known one another since we were really bad girls and have stayed in touch through motherhood, boys, and all that good stuff. Our daughters are now the best of friends and our two youngest already made plans to marry at Disney. Todd and Tiana can pay for that one! Did you guys see on the SAM'S club website where they are selling a wedding package!? It's almost $200,000. WOW!

Anyway, Tiana and I have not been to FL together since the early 90's. She knows the date. I forget. She and I went down years ago to south Florida (way down in the Everglades) to this Pow Wow Rodeo Festival. This thing was so cool! The Indians there lived in teepees and had the long braids. They were gorgeous! I would LOVE to go again some day! The main reason we went was to see Joe Nichols. The country music star. He wasn't so much a star back then but he had that "Wal-Mart" song out on the radio and when I saw him in the video I thought he was hot. (Which sparked the trip!) He was only 19 at the time and so darn cute! Not so much now. We did other stuff too...stayed at the Omni, went shopping, went to Universal Studios and got drunk with our Hard Rock friends. Point is ~ THIS IS OUR FIRST TRIP BACK TOGETHER SINCE THEN!!!!! We are gonna have some F U N! Oh yeah! GOT MYSELF A FLASK YESTERDAY! I guess that's how you spell it.

We leave in:

I don't really have a PTR or TR going on right now so I figured I'd add in some of our recent pictures right here. Hope you guys don't mind. There are 12 of us in all.

And T's daddy!

Of course our 5 kiddos are coming too but I decided from here on out no more pics of them go on here. Ya I know...why now? I watch too much Nancy Grace. So no more of them!

So friends, stalkers, and Disney lovers...that's where I've been and what I'm up to now! We're all caught up! Now back to my delicious food report...
