Ok, before I start the real trip stuff I just want to apologize for the lame title of my PTR, I was away all weekend and am tired and just not in a creative thinking mood right now. So, I'm saying sorry in advance.:) Let me first say that I'm new to the DIS board so I'm gonna give this PTR a shot because 1) I love this site and am definitely addicted and 2) I really want some feedback and suggestions from all you Disney lovers out there, they will really help me out:grouphug: So now I'll introduce myself.

I'm Kristen, I'm 21 and I live on Long Island, NY. I have been to Disney 4 times previously but the excitement that I have for this coming trip doesn't even compare to any that I've been on before. I graduated with a B.A. in political science over the summer and unfortunately, am not doing so well finding a job so back to school for me in January.:headache: I work part time at a bank right now which I don't like very much. Ok thats enough about me lets meet my trip companion, aka my lovely boyfriend Chris.

Chris is 24 and we have been together for almost 2 yrs now. We met working at a supermarket together 5 yrs ago when I was just turning 16. Looks like he finally reeled me in:lovestruc He recently got a job as your neighborhood friendly cable guy and he really is liking it (and the overtime pay:rotfl: )He's only been to Disney once when he was like 12 and is excited for the trip to even though he would never admit it:) His only request is that we don't go on It's a Small World...I think he still has nightmares involving that song. haha And since I love him to death I think I can honor this one thing for him:love:

Well, thats us now for the info on our trip. We were supposed to be going to Disney from August 30-Sept 6. Everything was in order when in July, Chris found out he got the new job for the cable company. His training was 8 weeks long beginning at the end of July...running right through our trip dates. This was such a good opportunity for him and there was no way either of us was going to let it go by so the trip had to be placed on hold. A bit upsetting but worth it since this job is really good for him and his future. So, he found out that he could use his vacation time after 6 months...that took us to the end of January. Well since our tickets were already purchased for our Aug/Sept trip and we had added the water park and more option to it, we didn't wanna risk cold weather and not being able to hit up Blizzard Beach and/or Typhoon Lagoon. So to avoid any possibility of cold weather, we knew we would have to wait until at least March. Then we ran into the problem of spring break/Easter crowds. Finally, we settled on the week after the week after Easter, April 19th, 2009-April 26th, 2009. Far away but it would give us plenty of time to build up the anticipation and save up lots of money. Plus, the weather should be juuuuuust right:cool1: I'm having some technical difficulties with my computer so I'll put up a picture that I have of us but it's not my favorite.

This is from Chris's niece's Christening party at the beginning of August.

So here's the intro to my PTR, hope I at least can draw some readers. I'll post again tomorrow with more details of the trip that are set for right now. :dance3:

Ok no one has replied to the first part of my PTR yet...thats ok I'm not discouraged yet after all I only wrote it 12 hrs ago so I'll write my second page and hope for the best:goodvibes

So where was I? Oh right, our dates, 4/19-4/26, perfect and I cant wait!! I think other DISers might be the only ones who understand just how excited I really am. After we had to cancel our other reservations for Aug/Sept I was so bummed. Tears and all.:sad1: A few days after I found out we couldnt go I even got our luggage tags in the mail...not good. But, Chris made me realize that we're gonna have a great time no matter when we go and by waiting the weather won't be so stiffling hot and we'll have much more money saved to do whatever I want to do. He made me feel alot better, he's good like that. Everything was easy to change except for our plane tickets...we had round trip from JFK in NYC to Orlando for $237 with tax and everything on Delta. Not too bad considering some of the prices I'm seeing now. Well, by cancelling them we lost $100 on each ticket. We now each have $137 Delta credit so we're thinking of just taking Delta one way and using our credit and then taking another airline home. We figure we can probably find something cheaper then the Delta fares I've been seeing. Southwest flies right into a local airport by us on LI but they only have fares posted through March 6th. So we'll wait and see.

Anyway, since this trip was supposed to already have happened, I've been planning since about March. Prior to this I thought I knew alot about Disney and all the things there are to do there...boy was I wrong. I found out so much new stuff from websites like allears and the lovely people on the DISboards.:thumbsup2 I bought the Unofficial Guide for 2009 and have just been reading reading reading. Originally we were going to be staying at All-Star Movies. After tons of reading and reviews however, we switched our reservations for us to be staying at Pop Century instead. The buses were probably the main thing that made us want to switch being that ASMo is the last stop of the 3 AS resorts while Pop has its own. Also Pop is the newest so probably in the best condition. So, Pop it is. Anyone with an opinion on that decision, feel free to let me know.

The main thing I'm trying to figure out right now is where to make ADR's! Because of the upgrades Disney is doing on the reservation system I don't have to make them the usual 180 days before the trip so I have some time. But as are most of you on here, I'm a planner. I want to know these things in advance! lol Chris isn't a very picky eater, he'll eat pretty much anything except seafood. I on the other hand am a very picky eater. I don't eat any beef or pork but I will almost always eat chicken and seafood so that helps out. We're only going to make 2 ADR's and they'll probably both be for dinner. We're going to have a fridge in our room thanks to the fridge swap set up on here by Jakesmom1 (thank you!) so most breakfasts will probably be quick in the room before we leave in the morning. Lunch we will just get something quick at whatever park we are at that day. See, even though I'm a planner, Chris really isnt. He doesnt want to always have to be somewhere at a designated time, he wants to be able to go with the flow. I also dont really like the idea of having to be somewhere each day at a certain time, I want us to decide taht when we're there. But theres no way I'm passing up some of the great TS restaurants in Disney! So here's what I've narrowed (or not so narrowed) it down to.

-Hollywood Brown Derby- heard the food is beyond good but how much is this going to run us a person?
-Mama Melrose- love Italian food and was kind of thinking about the Fantasmic package
-Tusker House- like the idea of a buffet
-Biergarten- Chris is German and loves beer. end of story lol
-Le Cellier- heard there's excellent food and Chris loves steak
-San Angel Inn- great view of Illuminations and love Mexican food
-Plaza Restaurant- heard there's great ice cream and great food
-Big River Grille & Brewing Works- again, Chris loves beer
-ESPN Club- we both love sports but can probably just sit at the bar for this?
-Whispering Canyon Cafe- heard the food is great and love the WL
- Yachtsman Steakhouse- again Chris loves steak but how much is this gonna cost us a person?

I forgot to mention that we don't have the dining plan. There is no way this would have been beneficial to us. We're definitely not going to be doing a TS everyday and like I said we'll have a fridge in our room for food too. So no DP for us. We're not really into character meals either which is why I dont have any of those listed either. So what does everyone think? PLEASE let me know! I've heard great things about each of these restaurants but am still at a loss!

As for tickets we currently have a 4 days MYW with the water park and more option. We also plan on spending a day at Islands of Adventure. We're not going to have a car with us, since they would charge us a ridiculous amount of money extra per day because we're not 25, so we'll have to sign up for the Mears shuttle. We have a day for each Disney park, one days for Blizzard Beach and one day for IOA. We know that AK and BB most likely will not each take a whole day. We plan on doing Disney Quest and DTD at night and if we have time hitting up the WWOS or doing Typhoon Lagoon. I know, I know people probably think we'll be shot by day 3 or 4 but we're young we can handle it. And we're easy going, really we are. I'm proabably going to go by what the Unofficial Guide says are the best days to go to each park and also use it's touring plans. The only thing we will probably do which the Unofficial Guide usually says not to do is go to EMH.

Sooo, theres a rough outline of everything. PLEASE give me feedback I really want everyone's opinions! :goodvibes

How exciting! I'm happy for you that you were able to reschedule your trip! It sounds like you've really got everything covered! I haven't been to WDW in years so I'm not an expert, but I'll be there the same dates as you and staying at ASMo (nobody's responded to my pre-trip reports either, btw.:sad1: )

Anyway...we're planning on dinner at Le Cellier because my DH also LOVES steak and my sister who went recently said they have the best steak in WDW. So that was a great choice. Also, San Angel Inn cannot be missed ifyou like the Mexican food! We'll be there too! Maybe we'll see you!
Enjoy your planning!!!:yay:

This should take you to the page for the resort restaurant list. Click for menus with pricing. HTH!popcorn:: After reviewing the prices, you might decide the basic dinin plan might be worth it for you? one QS meal and a big table service meal are going to be more than $40/day per person if you're Steak eaters. Just a thought....

thanks for joining in and for the tips! Thanks for the tip about Le Cellier, I told my DBF and he seems into that one so we'll probably be eating there...besides that and one other though we wont be doing any other TS meals and I dont eat steak:sick: so I doubt I will ever eat $40 worth of food (which really just means more money that I will spend other places in the world lol). Thanks for the allears menu links too, I've actually looked at them but was too oblivious to ever really check out the prices :rotfl: It would be cool to see you there since you'll be there the same dates as us! send me the link to your PTR too b/c i'll definitely become your first reader. :)

Well you'll be bored by my PTR since it revolved around myself, my Dh and my kids but here it is! Seems to takea while to get "in" with the crownd and get responses to posts.:scared1: I'll be displaying my LGMH at the parks, probably on my pink stroller so I'll stand out. I'll be the one with the bored teenager, moping husband and fighting children.:rotfl:

Hi!! I'll join in. That is a bummer you had to cancel for August/Sept. but that's great you now have another trip planned.

I have not eaten at many of the restaurants you are looking at making ADRs at but we did eat at Mama Melrose's in May. It was really good (we love Italian food as well).

Hi and thanks for joining in! Was Mama Melrose's real Italian food or was it Olive Garden level Italian food? Dont get me wrong I like the Olive Garden but thats not real Italian food and I dont want to spend alot of money on the fake stuff lol when I get my computer working again I'll have some picture updates so keep checking back and thanks again! I'm going to read your PTR right now:dance3:

Ok, so I've realized that I started this PTR too early...theres not much thats set in stone or even could potentially be set in stone because its still 7 months until we go...so there probably wont be a post on here for a few weeks or so unless something comes up. Hopefully if I wait a while, more people will join in to read :upsidedow

Or maybe it was there all along and I'm just not very observant. :lmao:

You and BF are a cute couple. You have very pretty eyes!

I so know the disappointment of having to cancel a Disney trip. DH promised me that we could go to DL on my 30th birthday and we had the whole tripped planned and booked. That is, until my mother-in-law decided to come visit us for 10 days to celebrate my 30th and DH's 34th (our b-days are 20 days apart.) I was livid AND I cried for a week, including most of the day on my b-day. We still haven't made it back. :sad1:

Of your TS choices, we've only done Le Cellier but we really enjoyed it. It was nice without being stuffy. It was VERY meat and potatoes, though it does have some good fish entrees. Have you thought about Coral Reef? I know you said your BF doesn't care for seafood, but neither does my DH and it's one of his fave restaurants. They have LOTS of steak and chicken options for him and lots of chicken/fish for you. It's a very lovely, romantic restaurant and you can even arrange a cool personalized menu/diver sign to surprise him. Just a thought.

I have more input for later but I have to go now. I'll be back soon!

San Angel Inn- great view of Illuminations and love Mexican food

San Angel Inn is inside Mexico's Pavilion you won't be able to see Illuminations from there.

Great PTR so far. I can't wait to read more. BF and I are looking to go the last weekend of April.

I totally have not forgotten about you or the diver info. I've just been swamped with life stuff and haven't had a chance to look for the info. I'll PM as soon as I find it.

'K. I promised you more (probably unwanted) input on your plans.

ADRs
-Hollywood Brown Derby- Pretty pricey. Might not be best choice if y'all are looking for bang for your buck.
-Mama Melrose- I've heard that the food is VERY so-so. I also wouldn't bother with the Fantasmic package either. More on that below.
-Tusker House- We're doing breakfast here as I'm dying to see Daisy. I've heard good things about this place and Boma.
-Biergarten- Yes, Chris is German but there is VERY little here that you will eat. Think lots of sausages, pork and one or two fish and chicken dishes.
-Le Cellier- We liked it here
-San Angel Inn- No view of Illuminations as it is inside the Mexico pavilion. Are you thinking of Cantina de San Angel? That's the little CS stand in Mexico right on the lagoon.
-Plaza Restaurant- I've heard it's good but very small and basically just burgers/sandwiches, fries and ice cream.
-Big River Grille & Brewing Works- I've heard that the food is very blah.
-ESPN Club- It's a sports bar with food you could probably get at home (and I thought it was way overpriced)
-Whispering Canyon Cafe- I've also heard that the food is very good but it is also very beef and pork. They do have chicken (on the bone which I can't eat) in the skillet.
- Yachtsman Steakhouse- VERY pricey but really good steak. They have some fish entrees. This would be an expensive meal but probably worth it if y'all really want it.

Fantasmic Package - We did this on our last trip. Besides the fact that we prefer Fantasmic at Disneyland (which I know doesn't apply to you), we'll never do this again. The seating you get from the package is near the front but it is way, way off to the right side of the stadium. I thought the seats were really horrible and I could barely see Mickey. If we ever go to Fantasmic at WDW again, we will eat somewhere we want to and stand in line. Yes, it takes more time but it is cheaper in the long run and you could probably get better seats. Just my $0.02.

EMH - I know y'all have limited time but I have to tell you that EMH parks are terribly crowded by 1:00pm during busy times. Are y'all going at a super busy time? If so, I'd avoid the EMH parks like the plague. We made the mistake of going to an EMH park during our last trip and had to leave out of self-defense. It was yucky crowded and no fun.

Are y'all doing park hoppers?

We're staying at Pop too! And we're not doing the dining plan. Like you and your BF, my DH and I would never want to do a TS every day and we could never eat all that food.

Sounds like you have a fun trip in the works!

Hey there!

I replied to you on my PTR and then realized I should probably have posted it here. I just wanted you to know I hadn't forgotten you.

I think y'all are going to LOVE Coral Reef. It's very cool and was the first TS I ever dined in at WDW. I'm digging up my Passporter this weekend so I'll be able to give you the menu/diver info then.

Hi Kristen! I followed you over here from Charleston Princess's PTR for June '09, I just wanted to say from your intro, that DH was reading over my shoulder and laughing because he read the parts, "Chris likes beer." and "Chris likes steak." And he says, "I like beer! I like steak! Chris and I are destined to be friends!" And than I say, "There you go, honey, apprently, Chris is also a cable guy." and he really got a kick out of that, as he also started that this past year. Anywho- I'm subbing!

So like the title of this posts says I'm finally going to post an update! I'm pretty sure a few things worth noting have happened since I last posted. First off I'm inspired by CharlestonPrincess to continue to push through writing a PTR so early because if she can do it 8 months early I sure can do it 6 months early. :) I got some more pictures up on photobucket too. My next goal is to scan some old pictures from my first 3 visits up on here...me at 7 yrs old, 11 and 14...it could be scary, I'll warn you all in advance. Anyways let me get started on my update.

I bought a bag that I think will be perfect to carry through the parks. Actually another DISer was the inspiration behind me buying it. It's a Vera Bradley hipster in the pink elephant print. It was a retiring print and it was discounted so I bought it from the VB website and with shipping and all it was only $40. Thats what I call a bargain. Here's some pictures of it, I think its really cute.
http://i468.photobucket.com/albums/rr48/x0kten0x/photobucket011.jpg
And now the inside pocket, it still has the receipt and tags on it because I haven't used it yet!
http://i468.photobucket.com/albums/rr48/x0kten0x/photobucket008.jpg
Another pocket on the inside
http://i468.photobucket.com/albums/rr48/x0kten0x/photobucket009.jpg
Pocket on the outside
http://i468.photobucket.com/albums/rr48/x0kten0x/photobucket010.jpg
It also has a zipper pocket on the outside. I think it will be perfect to hold the necessary items to take to the park and is big enough to even fit a water bottle.

I also started a trip binder. Now the outside of this binder is definitely not finished. I need to hit up a craft store or something to get some letters for it. Either way, seeing everyone elses amazing binders makes me feel super inadaquate with mine but I'll show you what I got so far anyway.
http://i468.photobucket.com/albums/rr48/x0kten0x/photobucket013.jpg
And here's the Epcot park hours that were just put out yesterday, sorry they're so blurry
http://i468.photobucket.com/albums/rr48/x0kten0x/photobucket014.jpg
So far all that's in it are the park tickets I have already purchased, printouts of our reservation confirmation, the park hours, our To-Do list as of now, our tentative packing list and customized park maps. I just made our packing list earlier today. I feel like I've included everything we could possibly need but I'm sure there will be many additions to it between now and April. The other day I also went on ebay JUST TO LOOK at Disney trading pins. JUST TO LOOK, not to bid or buy any. I never really got into the whole trading of pins because I think its so silly to spend $7 or more on a pin. Well on ebay pins don't cost $7 each they're much much cheaper I came to find out. Needless to say I'm the new owner of 15 pins which I got at the super low price of $30:yay: I was really excited and my BF thinks I'm a little crazy. The unveiling of the pins went something like this:

Me: Babe grab that bubble envelope off of my desk I want to show you something.
BF: Let me guess it has something to do with Disney.
Me: Now why would you think that? (As I pour the pins onto my bed)
**Pause for moment of silence**
Me: They were only $30! They're at least $7 each at the park!
BF: $30 on pins!?....well they are kind of cute :)

So I win. princess: Heres a pic of the $30 pins
http://i468.photobucket.com/albums/rr48/x0kten0x/photobucket015.jpg
I don't know how great these ones are but they're cute to me. We'll see how many more I can manage accrue before the trip :tinker:

Ok so that's all the Disney stuff I can think of to update right now. Here's a non-Disney related update. This Friday (the 3rd) was my best friend in the whole wide world's 21st birthday. WE've been friends since we were 7 and shes the greatest she really is. Anyway, a group of us decided to take the train into NYC. Only like an hr and 15 mins from where I live on LI. Her main request of the night was to ride a mechanical bull. :lmao: Yes a mechanical bull, I kid you not. Well here's some pictures from our trip.
Me and Danielle on the train

http://i468.photobucket.com/albums/rr48/x0kten0x/photobucket007.jpg

Chris and I out celebrating my graduation from college in May 08

And here's us in April 08 on the train to see a Yankee game, Chris wasn't really into taking a picture

Cute update! Heck, yea- you can make this stretch 6 mos! LOL. I think mine has been.... 5?

I got the pins for trading for the kids off of ebay as well. I have a lanyard too but ther's only 3 on there, mine are more "meaningful" but I want the kids to feel like they're getting more 'personalized' souvies since they will choose what they trade with CM's!

DD has that Cheshire Cat and the Belle pin as well, and I'm pretty sure that Figment pin probably would be pretty 'coveted'!!

Great pix, btw...

The birthday trip looks like fun. I remember my 21st b-day weekend, including the wicked bout of cottonmouth. I grew up in Fort Worth, Texas, so I sadly have a few photos of me on a mechanical bull also. I tell you, delete your video now as it serves as good blackmail. :goodvibes

Good idea on the binder. I've never done one for our trips which hits me as kind of strange. I mean, I plan for months in advance and then print everything and stick it in a random envelope. That's SO not like me. I guess my Passporter can somewhat fill that bill. I think DH would throw a hissy if I packed a binder in addition to my PP.

Cute bag!

Hey!! :)

Just joined you on your PJ!! And when it comes to Disney and the excitement, ITS NEVER EVER too soon to plan!!!! :)
I love all your pics and I think it's going to be a GREAT PJ!! I love your new bag I saw where someone else on here got one too, but I can't remember who! LoL! :rotfl:
You and your boyfriend are adorable!! Congrats on graduation college! I am working on my PS Degree too, but no where near done.
Sorry to hear that you had to reschedule the whole thing.. I can totally see how disappointing that would be ... ugh :sad2: :guilty: I know how that feels. I live in FL and sometimes I'd really want to go for a weekend but they would be completely booked up and I wasn't about to stay off property LOL

Look forward to hearing more!! :goodvibes

Hi! I came over to read all about your trip planning! You can definitely make it last for six months!

I have a VB hipster, and it is the perfect park bag!

Looks like you guys had a blast celebrating Danielle's birthday!

I adore Disney pins -- ebay tends to be a very dangerous place for me.

Hey, it's been a while since I checked in with you. Boy are you kicking my butt in the PTR department:lmao: . LOVE the binder idea. I currently have all my stuff (and I do have quite a bit) stuffed into my Small World Vacations folder I received with my confirmation. I'll have to do something about that....get creative;)
Love the new bag! It's adorable and those little zippered pockets are going to be SO handy! :woohoo:

It's a great idea though it's keeping me organized. And thank you, I'm glad you like the bag there were a bunch of prints that were retiring on sale, you should check them out :goodvibes

:welcome: You are right about the Disney excitement because mine has been brewing all the way since last February when we started planning for our first trip! I'm about to boil over! :cutie: I was totally crushed when we had to cancel that trip but I'm glad we did now because I still have a trip to be looking forward to. You and your DH are just too cute, that pic in your signature is precious! Good luck with your PS degree it's a lot of work as you know but it will pay off for us one day right? And I can't decide whether you're really lucky or unlucky for living so close to WDW, it's kind of a tease but at the same time you're just so close to all the magic!!:goodvibes

The birthday trip was definitely alot of fun. If i had a regular picture of me on the bull I would put it up but there's no way I'm putting up the video lol I didn't celebrate my birthday on my real birthday this year (I also turned 21 in August) because it fell on a Monday but when we did celebrate I know I didn't get cottonmouth but I did have one helluva headache the next day  Based on your PTR and stuff I'm surprised that you've never done the trip binder! Just make one and sneak it into the luggage, DH will never know:thumbsup2

I'm sure going to try and stretch this out until my trip! Yours has been pretty long. I need to get a lanyard for my pins and thats cute that your kids are going to trade with CMs. P.S. they're really cute too idk if I put that on your PTR or not. :goodvibes

So here's the update that I was wayyyy to lazy to type up yesterday ;) Well since the April park hours came out I was able to put together a NOT SET IN STONE guide to our itinerary for the trip! I stress that it's not set in stone because BF and I do not want to feel like we're punching a time clock on our vacation. We want to have a guide, not a plan. With that said here's the tentative schedule::

Sunday, 4/19--
-flight leaves at 6 am (:scared1:) with a layover in Atlanta. Lands in MCO at11:25 am
-get to Pop around 1 pm via ME (is that a reasonable estimation? I've never taken ME from an airport, only to the airport)
-possibly rest at Pop for a bit depending how tired we are
-clean up and go to DTD or DisneyQuest (whichever we decide)
-dinner at Earl of Sandwich or Raglan Road (preferably Raglan Road but I'm not going to make an ADR so if not RR then EoS)
-probably head back to Pop to relax for the night and get to sleep early, we'll be pooped!!:faint:

Monday, 4/20--
-wake up early and eat breakfast at Pop (we'll have a fridge in our room and are going to get an order from garden grocer so depending on our mood we'll either eat something we have or eat in the Pop food court)
-head to AK for AM EMH! :yay:
-lunch at either Tusker House or Pizzafari (again, not going to make ADRs so PF is the backup)
-leave AK around 3 pm since I know we won't have to spend a whole day here
-go back to Pop to swim, relax and probably shower again
-go to DTD/DisneyQuest (whichever one we didn't do the night before)
-not sure where dinner will be
-back to Pop for sleep

Tuesday, 4/21--
-wake up at a leisurely time (8:30/9ish) and eat breakfast at Pop
-head to Universal Islands of Adventure***
-dinner at IOA or Pop food court(depending on what time we feel like leaving IOA)
-Pop to swim/relax and sleep

Wednesday, 4/22--
-wake up and breakfast at Pop (room or food court)
-go to DHS for rope drop! :cheer2:
-lunch at 50's Prime Time Cafe (don't know what time yet since I can't make my ADR's yet)
-midday break back to Pop if we feel we need it
-back to DHS for Fantasmic! dinner package at Mama Melrose and EMH
-Pop to pass out!!

Thursday, 4/23--
-wake up, breakfast at Pop
-get to Blizzard Beach at opening
-lunch at CS in BB
-leave BB around 3 pm
-back to Pop to shower and relax
-go to tour Boardwalk hotels and/or Wide World of Sports
-dinner at ESPN Club or All-Star Cafe depending where we are
-back to Pop for bedtimeeee

Friday, 4/24--
-wake up, breakfast at Pop
-get to Epcot for rope drop
-lunch at either Biergarten or San Angel Inn (not making an ADR so I'm hoping one of these will have an opening)
-midday break if needed
-back to Epcot for dinner at Coral Reef and EMH

Saturday. 4/25--
-wake up, breakfast at Pop
-go to (last but certainly not least) MK for the day!
-midday break if needed
-dinner at Plaza Restaurant
-spend evening at MK

Sunday, 4/26--
-CRY MY EYES OUT BECAUSE WE HAVE TO LEAVE
-seriously I probably will cry...
-not sure what time we're going to be leaving WDW because Southwest doesn't have their flight schedules up for April yet

Wow, we sure are going to be BEAT by the time we get home. But, I'm going to love every minute of it!!pixiedust: So let me do some explaining; for one thing we do not have park hopper tickets. The extra money just is not in the budget right now and we are young and can just do one park a day, even though we will inevitably be tired. Second, we purchased these tickets in July thinking we were going to WDW at the end of August (as some of you know). This was before I knew that Pleasure Island was closing :sad2: We were definitely planning on going there but that's not an option now...however, we already had tickets with the water park and more option. We were planning on hitting up BB no matter what but now we're making sure that we do DisneyQuest and hopefully WWoS too to try and make the most out of the WP&M tickets. Third, we are not really breakfast people. Now, don't get me wrong I loveeeee breakfast foods as much as the next guy but I can't rationalize spending precious sleep and park touring time at a restaurant for breakfast, not when its just the two of us. Hence the reason we're going to eat in our room or at the food court every morning...more likely in our room. If there were kids involved in the equation that would be a different story. If you noticed the *** on the IOA day thats because I have a question regarding how to get to IOA...in 2005 when I stayed at All-Star Sports there was a Mears bus that took us to and from Universal. Is that available at Pop? It was much cheaper then a cab and nicer too. So, I'm all up for suggestions and comments!! I want to hear what people think and if they have any advice on how to improve so please, offer them up at any time! :wizard:

Ok I'll shut up about that all now. A few more small updates though. Here's where anyone who doesn't care about my personal life can stop reading  :) Well, Monday I got myself all wrapped up in Disneyshopping.com. BAD IDEA I saw sooo much stuff I would want! Luckily I only ended up getting BF and I t-shirts and a pair of pajama pants for me. The shirts were on sale for $5 each (!!) and the pants were on sale for $7.99. Then I put the order on my Disney Rewards Visa Card and got %10 off so the whole thing, with shipping came to around $26...what a bargain!! On another note I hit up Home Depot the other day with BF...needless to say their supply of Mickey heads decreased by about 50 after I had been there:ssst: woops...i made sure to get plenty LGMH too for the trip! Also, I've decided what I'm going to do with my future :offtopic: I'm going to become a Social Studies/History teacher :goodvibes I'm so happy and excited to get started even though this is not originally what I went to school for so even though I have my Bachelor's degree I need to go back for a couple more classes. Ok well I think I'm done with this update that now looks to be far too long...hopefully not boring though!! Off to go read some great TR's and PTR's :surfweb:

Congrats on the decision to teach social studies/history. That's a fun subject. You can do so many interesting things with it.

Yes, your itinerary looks busy but you're right that y'all will probably be fine. I noticed that you planned some tentative breaks for yourselves. As long as you take them when you need them, you should be fine. Just listen to your bodies and rest when you need to.

I hear you on the breakfast thing. I'm not a breakfast eater and neither is DH so we usually just buy some granola bars, yogurt and bananas and eat in our room. It's good energy for the morning but doesn't take extra time. We do try to always schedule one "fun" breakfast like at Kona or a character breakfast. We are dining with Mary Poppins (my fave) this go-around.

Plans look good. WTG!

Very busy but you always put a break in there somewhere... we usually never stop LOL We are always "go go go go!" I want to see your PJ pants!! :) I bet they're cute!! What do they look like?? As far as taking more classes to be a teacher, that's awesome. I was expecting to do that with mine too, except I *Gasp* really don't like CHILDREN lololol (and whyyyyyy do I go to Disney??? idk!) ... I think it's the little sassy brats that make me mad.. and in south FL, we have so many spoiled BRATS that it's hard to imagine not slapping them silly, thus, just plain not liking them LOL (don't shoot me on here, anyone who reads this!) But, I like the older kids.. they're fun :) they don't scare me as much! So anway I'm done rambling... yay for having plans!!!

In the past we've always done the "go go go" method of vacations, even when I was a kid with my parents. Thats what I'm really used to actually so the breaks are just "if needed". If we feel tired we'll stop, if not we'll keep going lol I got Tinkerbell pj pants I cant wait to get them! They are really cute I'll post a pic when I get them. I really don't like kids either, thats one of the many ways I know I shouldn't have children yet:rotfl: I want to go to teach middle school-high school. They're more tolerable I think. Living on LI theres plenty of spoiled brats here too and when I have kids they WILL get a spankin' if they act up lol

Haha I know I changed the name because the old name was so boring, I was hoping changing it would get it some more readers! Wishful thinking:idea: Sorry to confuse you though:laughing: I'm hoping that the teacher thing will work out although I dont see why it won't but its very exciting to me so thank you:cutie: The rests are, like you said, tentative but I figure it's better to have them in there then be a grouchy you-know-what everyday (I tend to run into those spells every once and a while:angel:) With the breakfast thing I'm with you on the energy food. Something to keep us going for the day. However, Mary Poppins breakfast does sound like soooo much fun but I don't think I can get BF to go for it this time...looks like we'll have to make another trip to do it! :wizard:

Your itinerary looks great! We didn't do Park Hoppers on this past trip and really, doing one park a day was fine -- so we probably won't do Park Hoppers again -- that extra money can just go towards souvenirs or mixed drinks or whatever we feel like.

Quick question: why aren't you making ADRs? You know you can make them and then cancel them if you don't want to do them at the last minute.

My degree is in both language arts and social studies, and I have taught social studies for many years -- I love it and actually miss teaching it. I get all jazzed up talking about history. So, I think it is just awesome that is what you are going to do. :goodvibes

I agree with CP...you should make an ADR for Raglan Road and then just cancel if you decide not to go. That's what I usually do. I never feel like sitting down to eat, so I cancel all my ADRs! But I like to have the option.

I am no help on the IoA question...never been there.

I have to make myself stay away from Disney Shopping...there's too much stuff on there that I want!

Thankss!! :thanks: Yeah I think on a week long trip, for us anyway, the PH isn't needed. Ya know the more I think about it, you're definitely right abuot the ADR's. Why not just make them and then cancel them if we decide otherwise...and when some unsuspecting guest walks up to a TS restaurant and can get in without a reservation due to the one that we cancelled, we'll make their day! lol So thank you for making me realize that. I'm really excited about the teaching thing I'm in the process of finding out what I need to do in my situation but I'll check back when I know whats definite! :goodvibes

These PJ pants only cost me $7.19!! But I got a Large and they look ginormous:confused3

Here's a close up of the design:

And I already gave BF his shirt and its at his house so heres the pic of it off of the website:
http://i167.photobucket.com/albums/u124/xoktenox/grumpy.jpg
He wanted a Jack Skellington shirt but I forced myself to stick with the ones that were on sale for $5 and the Jack shirt only came in a size Small...BF is definitely not a size Small...not since he was 10 anyway.

And I just realized I'm a big idiot. I remember how I had heard that Fantasmic is only being showed on Mondays and Thursdays. So I went to the calendar on disneyworld.com and sure enough it's only showing Monday and Thursday. Go and ruin my plans, thanks Disney.

Anyway this means I have to switch our THursday BB day and our Wednesday DHS day so we can do the Fantasmic package on Thursday. Not such a big deal I just like to be dramatic.:cutie:

So thats it for my mini update thanks for reading:goodvibes

Alright, so late to the game here - but I'll still read along. My two cents - Mama Melrose Fantasmic was worth it, IMO. Think italian like Bucca di Beppo, not so much Olive Garden. And, although the seats with the Fantasmic package aren't "the best" in the theater, they are still good, and I am more than happy to pay a few extra bucks to not have to stand in line for two hours. Plus, if you need a sway vote for your bf - they have a beer stand in there. So while everyone else is in line, you two will be seated promptly, beers in hand. It made me very happy. If I remember correctly, they even have "beerguys" like at games...I think. Plus, with a 3YO on the last trip, I don't do lines!

I have looked and looked at the same t-shirt and pajama pants -- too cute! Now, I might have to wander back over to disneyshopping...:rolleyes1

They're on sale so hop on over there before they're gone! They have cheap kids stuff too.

Oh!!! I love your tink shirt!! :) How cute!!! I love your pants, too... comfy!! I always buy large's because I don't ever know how the sizes run with different companies... and I'd rather them be huge than too small! :) I'm almost always a med and sometimes small but idk, pj pants gotta be big! LoL So don't worry! they don't look that big! Sorry to hear that the show only runs mon - thurs... that stinks!! I wouldn't have known that. I personally don't like the show at all (eep!) but if you haven't seen it, you gotta try it out! :rotfl: Thanks for posting the pics!! <33

Thank youuu!:thanks: I usually am medium in pants too (well sometimes large because I have a rather large bum :lmao:) but these are just super large...not that I care because I always wear PJ pants big and they have a drawstring on them too. I have seen the show before but I really liked it and can't wait to see it again! :goodvibes

Don't feel lonely. I think the WDW one is awful but the DL version is pretty awesome.

Good idea on booking the ADRs and then cancelling as needed. You know how much I have agonized over our ADRs and I can already tell you that we will be cancelling/switching at least a couple. It's fine as long as you cancel them once you figure out you don't need them. And yes, you do make people happy. We had a couple overjoyed at Spoodles on our last trip when we cancelled our ADR and they were able to snap it right up!

Cute PJs!

I GET TO MAKE MY ADR'S SUNDAY!!  :cheer2: :dance3: :yay:

Or at least attempt to. I've read that the dining system upgrade isn't going to be done now until November but I also read that if you call to make an ADR at a restaurant that is done, you can do it. So I'm going to go in hoping for the best and see what I come out with. Also, I know I said that I didn't want to have any breakfast ressies BUT I've read so many things and seen so many pictures of Tonga Toast that I'm having second thoughts. I haven't mentioned it to BF yet so maybe I'll run it by him later on and show him some pictures and see how he feels. We can squeeze it in one morning right? :confused3 I kinda hope so:goodvibes

Well wish me luck, I hope I get everything we want!!! :goodvibes

Major disappointment:guilty:

My I was 2 days early for my ADR's. Instead of counting exactly 180 days I just called on the 6 month mark...2 days early. And the CM I spoke with said that they are only taking the ressies for CRT, Chef Mickeys and Victoria and Albert's which I knew but like I wrote in the last post I heard that if the restaurant was done with the upgrade they would book it...she told me no. I think I'll call on Tuesday and give it a shot anyway maybe a different CM knows differently. :confused3 Does anybody know anything about that, if they'll do some restaurants earlier then the Nov 21st date? Please let me know if you do. The next update will be pictures from past trips so prepare yourselves, you'll need it lol

So I was looking through my house yesterday trying to find the old pictures from past Disney trips and I came to find out that my mom has they all packed away in our laundry room/storage room in biiiiig totes that are all like stacked on top of one another. Apparently once we hit 102366953 photo albums in the cabinet in the living room, no more fit so only the most recent ones are up there now. So today my job is to fish out all those albums and go thru and find some pictures to post up. If I get all the pictures I need by today then hopefully I can have them scanned and an update with them by the middle of the week. Thanks all for reading! :goodvibes

Even my grouchy DH enjoys character meals in moderation. We do at least one a trip but I can sometimes squeeze in more. Breakfast is a good time as the meal can go pretty quickly if y'all want it to. Also, the characters are FABULOUS about knowing who they can or can't play with. Stitch even got a pretty big grin out of DH at our DL breakfast.

Do you know who his fave character is? I'd find out and go from there unless he just doesn't care and then you can book to make yourself happy. That's why we're having breakfast with Mary Poppins and Daisy.

Hmmm, well I know my BF would enjoy it if we did do a character meal, he kinda even hinted at wanting to do one. I just don't know when to fit it in we have such a packed schedule planned...I know he's not going to want to wake up at 6:30 or 7 am for another breakfast besides the one at Kona Cafe that we both say is a must. I showed him that picture of Tonga Toast and it was enough to make him even bring it up the other day of how much he wants it and can't wait to eat it because it looks so big and yummy lol I don't think he really has a fave character either but I could ask and find out, he won't think anything of me asking since all I do is talk about the trip anyway  I'm really thinking about it...any suggestions of where and when we might fit one in?

I would say try for Chef Mickey's for dinner if you don't mind being tied down for one night. A night your planning on MK you could take the monorail over. It's so much fun! I've been thinking of adding it for breakfast to our grownups trip! Even without the little ones it would be a blast!!

You might want to try a really late breakfast that doubles as a lunch or a character lunch. This is how we fit in our character breakfasts. No breakfast that day and a late bf ressie that doubles as an early lunch.

Donald's Safari Breakfast at Tusker House in AK serves breakfast until 11:00am. We are going since Daisy is there, but they also have Donald, Minnie and Goofy.

Crystal Palace in MK does breakfast and lunch and has Pooh characters.

Chef Mickey's at Contemporary has the big guy and friends and you can do a late breakfast. Keep in mind that it is very noisy.

1900 Park Fare BF at the GF has Mary Poppins, Alice, Mad Hatter and Pooh characters. This one is good for adults.

Ohana BF at the Poly does Stitch, Lilo, Minnie, Pluto and Goofy in Hawaiian gear and is pretty laid back although pretty noisy.

Cape May BF at the Beach Club has Goofy, Minnie and a few others in "beachy" gear. You can get there from Epcot or DHS.

I hope that helps!

Sorry that I've been slow with the update everyone. This past week has been crazy. Chris got stitches in his finger last Thursday night, he pulled a spaz move and tripped over a car bumper that he was painting for a friend and landed on the lawnmower. The lever thingy that adjusts the wheels on it sliced open his finger:worried: He'll live but he's playing up the whole "my injured hand" thing. Then Saturday Chris's parents were away all day and night so we had to watch his dogs all day. He has a big lovable German SHepard and a little mutt with terrible breath. They get really sad when his mom leaves so we had to watch them during the day and keep them company. I'll post some pictures of his dog and my dog soon because they're jsut so cute. :cutie:

:offtopic: In other news, we were supposed to go to a Halloween party this Saturday at a hall. We paid $30 each a few weeks ago and that was supposed to cover our food and drinks for the whole night. Well, this past Saturday we were at my grandparents house celebrating my grandpa's 81st bday and we get a text message from the girl who invited us to the party saying the party was that night...in 10 minutes!! So we couldn't go because we weren't ready or even close to ready and we lost out on the party and our $30 each. Luckily we were invited to another party this Saturday so we get to wear our costumes. We're being Fred and Wilma Flintstone! I'm so excited :woohoo: There will be pictures of that to come too. And I promise to get pictures from old trips up asap. Thanks for reading!! :goodvibes

Ouch and double ouch on the finger! That sounds awful! And boo on the party thing too. Did she get the date wrong initially? At least you'll still be able to use your costumes.

I'm so happy that I can be of help. Yes, Tusker House is a buffet and they have some "exotic" things plus tons of normal stuff so y'all should find plenty to eat there. And yes, the late BF/early lunch thing works VERY well because I HATE dragging myself out of bed early for breakfast. ...not the one I promised though. Ok, I keep promising an update with pictures from my previous trips. I even had Chris lug the huge totes off of one another and I fished through them all and found some old photo albums AND the pictures I'm going to put on here. I've yet to scan those pictures though...apparently me and the scanner don't get along too well :confused3 So I keep procrastinating on scanning them...but I will do it soon, I promise. To hold everyone over (and to get some of my readers back) I have some good pictures from Halloween weekend.

Side note:: :offtopic: Friday during the day I went and met with the Dean of the School of Education at Dowling College. Long story short, I start there in January :goodvibes The program I'm right now is called the Master of Science Qualifying Program. Basically I want to go to be a Social Studies teacher but when I was an undergrad I was a Political Science major so I only have 3 credits of history. So the spring semester is me just taking some undergrad history classes and then starting next September I'll go right into getting my masters in adolescent education with a middle school extension in social studies. I'm really so excited but it's going to be a lot of work with classes and all the certification tests I need to take. Wish me luck! :)

Ok now to the good stuff. Friday we didn't do much as we knew we had a party on Saturday night to go to. However, my mom wanted to dress up my dog...little tidbit about my dog, she hates costumes. We got her a sweater for her to wear outside the winter when its snowing but when we put it on her all she does it just lay down and won't move. So, my mom got her a bandana  Here she is, her name is Julie and even though shes a little nugget, shes 9.
http://i167.photobucket.com/albums/u124/xoktenox/halloween006.jpg
Her bandada says "BOO!" on it and she isn't very good at posing because once the flash goes off she gets scared.
http://i167.photobucket.com/albums/u124/xoktenox/halloween007.jpg

During the day I decided to make some Halloween cookies. They're peanut butter cookies with Hershey Kisses and they're supposed to be witches hats.

http://i167.photobucket.com/albums/u124/xoktenox/halloween004.jpg

Then I went to Chris's where is sister and her boyfriend had brought over his niece. This little girl is the cutest baby I have ever seen and has the sweetest little personality. She poses for pictures and thinks shes a super model which she is definitely cute enough to be. Her name is Aubrey and shes 6 months old. She was a monkey.
She's moving in this one but you get the idea.

So last night Chris and I went to a costume party. As I've said before we were Fred and Wilma Flintstone. My costume came with a cheesy wig that was not even really a wig but more of a foam cutout. I dont even know how it was supposed to stay on. So I got the "brilliant" idea to just buy orange hair spray color and spray my hair orange like Wilma. It turned out alright except the orange was like neon orange, not Wilma orange. Also I had a bit of a fiasco with fake eyelashes. A little info about me, I'm obsessed with my eyelashes. They're blonde so I always pound on the mascara or else I think I look like I have NO eyelashes. I also curl them for at least 5 minutes each because mine are pin straight. Needless to say they take up the majority of my time getting ready in the morning and I can do almost anything (including drive) while curling my eyelashes. Anyway, tonight I decided I was going to get fake eyelashes. I danced competitively for 13 years so I've put fake eyelashes on hundreds of times. Well, this time I had my lovely boyfriend pick up the eyelash glue for me. He got me some liquid stuff I've never used before...and never again will. I'm surprised I'm not blind today from how much of it got into my eyes. I was screaming because it burned so badly. So after like 45 minutes of screaming I ripped them off and went and got new ones with the right kind of glue. In these pictures, I have no fake eyelashes on and mine are NOT done to par. Oh well, here we are

So there we are. The party was a lot of fun! Unfortunately I left my camera in the car and didn't take any pictures of the girls house. It was so cold outside and neither one of us wanted to run out in the 39º weather.

Ok so hopefully this is enough of a temporary update. I PROMISE to have the past trip pics up by the end of the week. :goodvibes Thanks for reading :thumbsup2

Thank you! I do have to agree with you that my dog is amazingly adorable lol So is Aubrey and thank you for the compliments on the costumes!:thanks: The blonde eyelashes are so annoying! I say that mine are transparent along with my arm hair :lmao: People without blonde eyelashes never know why it takes me so long to do them perfectly but someone feels my pain finally!

I am taking World History I, US History II, US from 1945-1968 and Europe since 1929. Basically I've taken all those classes, just the political science form of them, but I need to have strictly History classes before they would let me start the masters program for teaching :headache: Oh well, they should be easy A's and history is interesting for me. Thank you for all the compliments as well!! :thanks:

My arm is transparent too!! The only time you can see the hair on my arms is when I have a tan and then it looks white. My eyebrows where transparent when I was a kid! I truely looked I didn't have any!!

Aaaaaaaa! CUTE pix! Awesome costumes! Adorable doggy AND baby! LOL

As for character meal- the other idea I'd have for you is the latest char. meal possible so you can go after a day in the parks. Might be good for the AK day since that park usually closes the earliest?

Your dog is way too cute. Thanks for sharing the Halloween pics!

Oh, I know how making your eyelashes pretty can be a nightmare. I've always tried to avoid fake eyelashes for special occasions, but I couldn't! They're too pretty

Have you considered having a semi permanent fake eyelashes? (the ones which could last for a month at least). I don't know if you have it there, but it's currently a huge thing here.

Oh, and congrats on the enrollment and good luck for the ADRs!

:rotfl2: I feel your pain trust me! I have been a blonde all my life and not only do I have to deal with the jokes everytime I do something ditzy, but I have to deal with the lack of eyelash and arm hair pigmentation! Thank you! :thanks: Yeah, I agree with the fake eyelashes thing, Halloween was the perfect opportunity to use them and I wasn't going to give that up! I have heard of the permanent lashes but I kind of thought there were only eyelash extensions which is not my problem, its just the color and the lack of curl. And from what I know, they're kind of expensive to keep up with (on a part time bank teller salary at least lol) Do you know anything more about them?

Hellooooo to you. I would just love to make some comments about the restaurants:woohoo:. Up until last month, I didn't have a clue:confused3 about all the different things that could be planned, booked, reserved, AND even have transportation to and from:car:. I went with my DD:laundy:, her DH:artist:, and 6,yep,count 'em 6:eek: kids (9, 8, 8, 6, 5, 2) pirate: princess: :happytv: :charac4:  princess:, and me,:wizard:,Grandma Rho. She had planned everything, and got free dining thrown in for good measure:yay:. We ate at Planet Hollywood - DTD, Tusker House - AK, Biermeister - Epcot, Captain's Grille - Yacht Club, and Cindy's Royal Table - MK. We ate at Counter Service places - McD's(6 kids, remember?) - DTD, the Earl of Sandwich - DTD, the End Zone - AS Sports. All the food was really good.......but.......all the sit down/table service was really costly. The End Zone was a food court type, very affordable, and quite tasty. Tusker House and Biermiester were both buffet. The African dance show outside Tusker House every 45 minutes or so was fabulous. The "Festival of the Lion King" show was totally AWESOME! The entertainment at the German restaurant was really interesting and very good. We were supposed to have a meal at Coral Reef, but missed our time, and that is why we ate at the German restaurant. As far as transportation all around every place goes, we were in their van, but the last 3 days we were there, we used the resort buses. They run about every 15 minutes or so, the drivers were all very courteous, and they drop you almost at the entry gates, hence no trams from the parking lots, then you are dropped back at the front door of your resort. Hope this was of some help. We really enjoyed our trip, and I for one, am already trying to figure out how soon I can go again:cheer2:. So, keep in touch, and I'll check in from time to time, and your travel :hourglass time will be here before you know it. Bye,now:wave:.

Ok I'm gonna need as much help on this one as I can get. With the newly released 4 days/3 days free promotion going on I'm at a loss. I feel as though I need to take advantage of it. Here's the problem...we booked room only with Disney and ordered our park tickets through AAA. So its not so easy. :guilty: We can't stay any longer than the 7 days we're already staying. I sent in a request with Small World Vacations and the quote I got back from them for 7 nights, preferred room at ASMo with 7 day tickets with WP&M is $1117.80...for our room only at Pop standard room with a AAA discount we paid $721.99 and the tickets were $279.05 each with the AAA discount. That comes to $1280.09. So we would save $162.29 by booking the new ressie. For a struggling college student, $162.29 is a lot of money!! (Well maybe not alot but a decent amount anyway.) And if we book the package we have 3 extra days of tickets which we could add no expiration to at the end of our trip this time so we can use them whenever we plan to come back. (Which will hopefully be Christmas 09 :goodvibes ) Booking the package would require a few things...one, we would have to switch resorts. To me thats not really that big of a deal and we'd have a preferred room at ASMo which we don't have at Pop. The biggie here is really the tickets that we purchased separately. My idea is to sell them on ebay however, I don't want to go to jail for doing this! Is this legal!? I'm not going to jack up the price of the tickets I just want to get back what I paid for them. They're unused and totally legitimate tickets. The offer from Small World Vacations is on reserve for me until Nov. 13th so please people help me out! :scared1: Thank you!!!:goodvibes

Well, I'm not what I would do in your shoes. Yes, the package is awesome and less expensive overall but you already have your tickets. So, you wouldn't actually be spending less unless you are able to sell your tickets for the amount you paid for them. At this point, yes, you will pay more if you stick with your room-only res., but that's a bit what-if.

No, it's not legal to sell tickets on eBay but people do it all the time. I can't tell you what to do in this case but I CAN tell you that I wouldn't go the ebay route. I just don't feel confident that I would get my money back. Most of the time, when people sell tickets on ebay, they do it at a loss. The good news is that your tickets were purchased at the AAA price so they are less than the regular price so you might get lucky.

I'm sure I was no help at all with all this rambling. Good luck with your decision.

Well, the worst that can happen is you post on eBay and they make you take them down. I don't think it's very likely that they will do that because people sell all kinds of WDW stuff on eBay. And I mean stuff like Fastpasses, Guest Assistance Cards, etc. - all things that the poor bidders won't be able to use after they buy them.

Your tickets are at least legitimate.

That's true, I went on ebay and checked out what kind of stuff was posted already and there's tons of stuff. I think I'm going to put them up there later tonight just to see if I get any hits at least, I'm not going to take anything less then what I paid for them (I think I'm going to post them for $550 with free shipping which is actually an $8 plus the shipping cost of a loss for us but if we're gonna save over $160 the other way then $8 or $10 isn't a big deal) so its worth a shot just to post them. Thanks for the advice, as always:goodvibes :thumbsup2

Why do you think it's illegal to sell them on ebay? I've bought and sold tickets on ebay all the time. As long as they're unused, what's the problem?

I'd sell them on ebay. And I don't know how big of an ebay-er you are, but I'd make sure you do PayPal verified-only or Money Order only.

Wow, you just made me feel a million times better telling me that you do it all the time. idk why I thought that it was illegal, I think I've heard it somewhere before that you're not allowed to do it but I checked on ebay and there's tons of tickets (and plenty of other stuff that I don't know if it's legit or not) on there for sale. You seriously made me feel alot better. :thumbsup2 I use ebay fairly often and have sold a couple of designer purses on there and I always say PayPal or postal money order only. Hmm I never thought of that...the thing is everytime I have dealt with AAA the people I speak to on the phone are never very nice. I know other people say taht they love AAA and their agent there but I have never had great experiences (and its not because I'm mean or anything, I'm extra nice! lol) But it's worth a shot, maybe I'll even ride up to the AAA branch near me and speak to someone directly there. The only issue I can see with booking the whole trip through AAA is can they use the code? And do you know if they'll charge me for booking through them?

My parents booked their trip through AAA and when a code came out for our dates, my mom called and changed the reservation to include the code. AAA doesn't charge anything. My mom's package is the exact same price as mine! But she had a travel agent do all the work for her! So if they'll let you return the tickets, you can book it with no extra fee.

I think driving there is worth a shot. They'll probably be nicer in person! But I would call first just to see what they say about returning the old tickets. I would assume that they would do it to get the extra commission from you booking a whole package rather than just tickets.

Hi there,
I will be in Disney the exact days as you (I'm arriving on the 18th though).

I just spent 2 hours on the phone (my PTR has more details) but was able to save myself $560 by taking advantage of the new deal. Pay for 4 days and get 3 free! We don't need 7 days in the parks, so I added the no expiration date to it so we can bring them back sometime in the future. What a deal I tell you. You should look into it because they don't cancel you're existing reservation.

Funny, we'll be in the same parks the same days as you too. Just take it easy...that's our plan.

Well, I'm off to read the rest of your report. Just wanted to give you and everyone else going the same time a heads up on the new deal!

Oh, and I started my PTR with a little over 6 months too! It's never too early to get excited. I use this as my way of talking about Disney without driving the family crazy! Hence, the title of my PTR.

Okay, so I should have read the whole report before my PP but my thought would be to see if you can buy some tix with no expiration like we did and save them for sometime down the road when you go.

It's worth the shot. You may still end up saving money and getting some free tix!

I also wanted to put my 2 cents in on some of your ADR's and give you a link to a thread you should join for updates on when the ADR system will be up and running.

Basically, I wanted to tell you my experience (and a friend of mines) with the Donald's breakfast at AK. I'll preface this by saying it was not at Tusker House when I was there, but it was when my friend was there (I'll leave her Dining Report for you too). The food is pretty good, but if you're looking for character interaction, this may not be the place. I had a 1 year old with me who was excited to see the characters and they came to his high chair so quickly and left so quickly that they are blurry in the pics. We had to call one of them back (Mickey I think) just to get a pic at all. My friend's experience was exactly the same, but her's was at Tusker House.

If you are going to MK, check out Cosmic Rays for CS. Not your typical CS place and very good.

Okay, below will be the links for the ADR thread and then my friends Dining report with some of the same places you're thinking of.

I want to book the package, get the 7 days of tickets, use whatever we're gonna use while we're down there in April and then add no expiration to the leftover days (I'm pretty sure I can do that?) It definitely sounds like a good idea to me:idea: About the breakfast ADR at Tusker House, I actually think that a little less character interaction might be better for us. Neither of us really need to be with the characters for too long, just to take a quick picture and they can go. That should be plenty for us so thank you for the info because it just made me actually want to eat there more  :thumbsup2 I think I've eaten at Cosmic Ray's before when I went in 2005. It was definitely a good CS and I wouldn't hesitate to eat there again. And that link to the ADR thread will really help me out a lot because the upgrade and date changing is driving me crazy! I'll definitely take a look at your friends dining report as well. Thanks so much for reading and for the info!! :goodvibes :flower3:

I'm trying to use the exact same code except when I talked to them on the phone there were no rooms available with the code at Pop so we have to move to ASMo. I started my PTR so early too so I don't drive everyone insane talking about it...it's worked only slightly so far I think my BF wants to put tape over my mouth sometimes so I shut up about it :rotfl: I'm gonna sub to your PTR and start reading it asap. :goodvibes

When I booked they just made the changes to my existing reservation so I didn't lose my resort. We all still have the exact same confirmation numbers except I had to split my trip into 2 reservations because my first day is a blackout day for the deal.

Anna, our fave CM just changed my initial reservation from beginning on the 18th to beginning on the 19th. Then we booked one additional day at the beginning, but she has the reservations connected so we dont have to switch rooms.

I'm guess I'd say to call back and see if they can do the same so you can at least stay at POP.

The one good thing about your trip plans is that you are very flexible and have a "go with the flow" attitude. First, it will save you some $$ on room fees, and, you will definitely experience Disney better that way.

So I just called AAA to see if they would take back my tickets if I had them book my entire new reservation with the promotion code through them. (Thanks Swans!) The agent was VERY NICE, I was in shock!:lmao: Anyway, no good news:guilty: Disney told her there are NO ROOMS IN VALUE RESORTS LEFT for the promo! They're all gone!! So there goes that idea of giving the tickets back to AAA. At least I do have a room reserved through Small World Vacations until the 13th though or else I'd be really upset.

Oh and btw, I put our tickets up on ebay!! 2 adult 4 day MYW tickets with WPF&M option and a AAA diamond parking pass for $545 buy it now price. I started the bidding at $540...I didn't leave much room for bargaining because I'm not going to take much less than what we paid for them. So, alert all your friends and family who are going to Disney and don't have tickets yet to buy them from me on ebay!! :thumbsup2

FYI to anyone who cares::

I lowered my ebay price on my tickets I'm trying to sell. The bidding now starts at $527 and Buy It Now for $535. I figure since we'll save $162 if we got back exactly what we paid for them, losing $30 or even up to like $50 on the tickets would still be a win-win situation for us, especially since we'd be saving money AND getting more days worth of tickets. My ebay ID is xoktenox if anyone is interested! :goodvibes

No, not yet but there is one person "watching" the auction. The auction is over in 3 days and about 15 hrs according to ebay so once I hit the one day mark I'm going to drop the price down lower. Wish me luck! :)

AN AMAZING PIN FOR MY VACATION DATES!:cool1: I swear, Disney wants my head to spin right off of my shoulders with confusion as I try to figure out what decision I should make in terms of which package to book. Oh yeah to add to it I'm still trying to get rid of those dreaded tickets too! :headache: Anyway, I call and speak to a very nice CM who delivers the bad news; there's only deluxe resorts left with the PIN. She also tells me that many people just place the rooms on hold and if they do not pay but 10 pm tonight, their reservations will re-open! Perfect, guess whose going to me on the phone at 7 am tomorrow morning? princess: (that equals me) I'm basically doing anything in my power to sell those other stupid tickets on ebay. They're listed at $530 now so hopefully they sell, there's 2 people watching them now so hopefully that means good things  I'm keeping my fingers crossed! :goodvibes

That's exactly how it reads lol there is that little part that says "Other restrictions may apply" which could mean no reservations or food but I was planning on asking the CM before I booked anyway...there's no way I was every gonna spend $500 just on souvies (even if I'd like to) so this offer wouldn't really benefit me too much if that was the case.

I don't yet have the buy 4 get 3 free included in my reservation, I have a room on hold with that promo but I still have my original Pop ressie too. But I highly doubt you can use both promos together:guilty: I don't know how I got the PIN honestly...from what I've heard though just sign up for everything Disney related as possible. I checked my email, and I didn't get your same offer, but I got this one instead:

Your family can enjoy a 3-Night/3-Day vacation package which includes room and
Theme Park tickets,
for as little as
$995.

$ 995 Family of four in a standard room at select Disney Value Resorts for stays most Sunday–Thursday nights 4/19–5/21/09.

$ 1,093 Family of four in a standard room at select Disney Value Resorts for stays most Sunday–Thursday nights 5/22–6/27/09.

Price based on 2 adults, 1 junior and 1 child. The number of packages available at this rate is limited. One Park per day. Tickets must be used within 14 days of first use. No group rates or other discounts apply. Offer is nontransferable.

This might work for me & Rachael to take a Mother/Daughter trip for her birthday in May! I'll have to call 'em and see what the quote is w/just 1 adult and 1 child. I really wish they'd join the rest of the hotel world and put in an area w/pin code or discount code entry so we didn't have to call! Hi there,
I got the same offer, but I haven't been looking at any cruise info at all. In fact, I have an 8 night trip booked for this April. I just got off of the telephone with a CM to see if this offer was better than the buy 4 get 3...it is not. It would be great for a long weekend like you suggested in your pp.

My current ressie is one single night, and then 7 nights (buy 4 get 3) with a 7 day park hopper no expiration and the dining plan. My total for the 7 days was 2006.66. When she priced out using the new code it came to 2165ish.

I know that's not your plan, but I wanted to save anyone using the buy 4 get 3 deal the phone call.

Why do you think it's illegal to sell them on ebay? I've bought and sold tickets on ebay all the time. As long as they're unused, what's the problem?

Disney doesn't allow it but doesn't often shut people down. I do know of several instances where they went through and had eBay pull down all non-licensed Disney related auctions, though.

It's basically an auction at your own risk kind of thing.

Typically, when you call the general 800 number for AAA, you are transferred to their Travel Call Center. These are generic reps that book travel and can be awesome or flat-out horrible. I looked up the number for our local AAA office and called them directly. I got better service AND they are right down the road so it is easy to drop by when I need something.

So I called Disney at 7 am this morning with my fingers crossed. As I was mascara-ing my lashes I finally got connected with a CM. I was rushing because I was getting ready for work and the first CM was just slow as molasses (sp?)!! Anyway she verified all my info and then said and your email address is _______@____.com...I said huh?:confused3 It wasn't my email...now I've called there more then 30 times I'm sure over the past yr or so and never have they given me that weird email. I put it to the back of my mind but eventually the less then helpful CM told me nothing was available in value resorts still with that PIN. Since she was a less than helpful CM and I had a extra couple of mins, I called back hoping to get a more than helpful CM. After all those annoying questions (do they really use those?) I got a man who seemed nice enough. I gave him the PIN again and he kind of paused and then said "whose name did this PIN have on it?" I told him I assumed mine but I didn't have it up in front of me...then it dawned on me

You see, when I went to Disney in 2005 I went with an ex of mine  I had just graduated high school and didn't turn 18 until August so, when we made the reservation we put it in his name since he was over 18. THE PIN CAME TO MY EMAIL, WITH ALL OF MY INFORMATION, IN HIS NAME! I haven't talked to him in almost 2 yrs now and most definitely don't get along with him or want to have anything to do with him!:furious: I explained to the CM and he said that I couldn't use the PIN because it wasnt for me!! I was mad to say the least and asked (very nicely considering how mad I was) if he could be removed from all my stuff! I don't want him on anything related to me!! Needless to say, the CM was adamant about not letting me use the PIN...THAT CAME TO MY EMAIL WITH MY HOME ADDRESS ATTACHED TO IT AND ALL. :sad2: I should be happy now though because it's one less set of numbers for me to run for prices :rotfl2:

I don't know what's up with the Disney system. They still have my phone number as my parents' phone number even though I haven't lived there in a VERY long time and I ask them to change it every time I call!

I'm sorry about that. But you're right...one less set of numbers to agonize over!

Yes it was extremely obnoxious that it was in my VERY stupid ex bf's name! I was just more mad that that meant I couldn't use it. I mean it was all my info and stuff but whatever, I have a great deal now :cheer2: Thats crazy with your parents phone number, idk whats wrong with the system.:confused3 They should fix it though!

First, anger at stupid ex-boyfriend and the code that you can't use.

Then, utter excitement over reading how someone is buying your tickets and you get such a great vacation deal! Woo hoo!!!

GREAT NEWS!!! I found someone to buy our tickets from us! They didn't sell on ebay (the auction ended this morning) but I was talking about it with a girl I work with and she's going to buy them from us! Her and her fiance are getting married in May of 2010 and then going on a Disneymoon and shes going to save them until then     I'm so happy!! I was really going to run up to her and give her a hug in front of all the members at my job! So on my lunch hour, I called Small World Vacations and had the lovely Nicole book us for a preferred room at ASMo, with 7 days of tickets plus WPF&M for only $1117.80!!:dance3: :dance3: :dance3: I'm doing the happy dance over here. :goodvibes

So this weekend was pretty boring. Friday during the day I had to take my grandma to the doctor. Then when BF got home from work we took a ride up to the mall to get the necklace he got me for my college graduation fixed. Not to toot my own horn but this necklace really is gorgeous. I'll post a pic to show off a little :snooty: :) Anyway, the necklace is from Zales and when BF bought it he got the protection plan on it (he knows me too well :lovestruc ) Needless to say the other day I lost a diamond out of it. :guilty: So we took it to the mall and me, being the ditzy blonde that I am, left all the receipt/paperwork stuff at home. So they wouldn't fix it for me...now I think thats kinda weird because I can't imagine that EVERYONE keeps their receipts. There has to be some kind of computer way to look it up, dontcha think? :confused3 Oh well, now we need to go back with it.

Saturday my dad forced me to go to the doctor. See, I've been sick with a cold bug type thing for a couple days  and he heard me coughing my lungs up when I woke up at about 7:30 am and called and made me the appt. himself. Then he dragged me out of bed and made me go. The reason I haven't gone is because I currently have no health insurance. Once I graduated college I came off of my parents plan and now need to wait until January when I go back to school to get back on it. So $75 for the office visit and $40 for the prescription later (:scared1: ) I'm feeling better today.

Then Saturday night BF and I went out to eat with his friend and his GF. Dinner was terrible  , and trust me, it takes a lot for me to say that. BF and I agreed that we wouldnt be heading back to that place anytime soon.

Today I re-printed all of my reservation stuff for our trip  mickeysmyboy made me a super nice new cover for the trip binder because, well lets face it, mine was pitiful. So I fixed up my trip binder (I'll get a pic up soon I'm just to lazy to get off my tush and go take the picture now :surfweb: ) and then watched my Giants kick the Ravens' butts :cheer2: :cheer2:

So now that you've heard about my boring weekend I have a question...??

Has anyone been to the Pirate & Princess Party? It would fit perfectly into our schedule when we're there but I'd rather spend the approx $45 each on other souvies or something if its not worth going to. Feel free everyone to let me know what you think or what you've heard regarding it. Thanks so much for reading :goodvibes

Hope you feel better soon! Definitely post a pic of your necklace -- I love seeing pretty jewelry.

We did the Pirate and Princess Party and loved it. It was fun to collect the necklaces and the park is almost empty. The parade was super cool. Would I do it, if money were tight or I knew I wanted that money to spend on souvenirs? Maybe not. You are getting that $200 gift card, though, right? That would justify it in my eyes.

We're not getting the $200 gift card (we're going too late to get it :headache: ) but from what I've heard the park is empty, like you said. Being able to walk on all those rides almost justifies it in itself to me. idk, we don't have to get tickets right away but it seems like we'll probably do it if money's lookin ok when it gets a little closer princess:

My favorite player is Brendan Jacobs/Antonio Pierce...its a tie for me  A few weeks ago BF bought me a Jacobs jersey I every week for the games I rotate between my Super Bowl champs shirt from last season and my jersey.

I'm not getting the $200 but I think the P&PP is something we definitely want to do based on everything we're hearing. As long as we're looking good on the money end of things when it gets closer I think we'll be adding that to our itinerary! pirate:

I don't know how I forgot this in my update yesterday but Friday night my BF, brother and I went to a fundraiser held at the local Knights of Columbus. You see, my cousins good friend has lymphoma. He's 29 years old and it's in his pancreas (sp?) and his lungs :sad1: He does not have health insurance so he's on medicaid but they don't cover all the pain medication he needs to make it through the day. Everything at the fundraiser was donated from the food, to the DJ, to the hall itself to t-shirts with her friends name on it. I heard they made about $6000 so hopefully that will help him out alot. Please keep him in your prayers:hug:

Something else I forgot to mention yesterday (what a terrible sister I am) is it was my brother's bday. He turned 19 (to him that means he thinks hes like 25.) So happy birthday to Kevin.

Who ever thought the words stupid and Zales we belong in the same sentence? :confused3 BF and I went there a bit ago to drop off my necklace to get the diamond replaced and to get it cleaned. To replace the diamond it's going to take

6 weeks!!!

Jeez, I'm not going to have it back until after Christmas! :headache: Uggggghhhh :guilty:

And in more un-Disney news, I registered for school yesterday and applied for my loan today :goodvibes I'll officially be a student again as of January AND I'll have health insurance again, thank god.

In Disney news, theres not much unfortunately. The more I think about the postponed ADR making date and read the ADR board the more nervous I get about calling in on Dec 22 when they're supposed to open up my dates. It's gonna be crazy AND I know I have to work that day  Chris and I went into the Disney outlet when we were out before too and they didn't have barely anything for adults. Hey what'd you decide on P&P? You know you can get in right at 4pm right? So perfect to sleep in a little, go to a character brunch or lunch, and than head to the parks. OR go the a character breakfast, play Disney golf or mini-golf, then head to the parks. OR go to breakfast (character or otherwise), go swimming in your resort's AWESOME POOL, and then clean up and go to the park.

Except remember to hit up all the attractions that will be closed during P&P so you don't feel jipped, like Tom Sawyer Island, and JC. Otherwise, most other onces are open....

Wait... did you already discuss this and I missed it?

Sorry there has still been no update, it's been a really rough past couple of days. Tuesday night my Poppy had a massive stroke around 9:30 pm. According to the doctors there was so much damage to the brain that was already done and couldn't be reversed that he was never going to wake up again. He was being kept alive only on a ventilator while we waited for family to get here from out of state. On Thanksgiving, after discussing it with my family, my Grammy told us she was going to take him off the ventilator the following day. They removed him from it yesterday and about 5 minutes later he passed.:sad1:

I know most of you have faced losses such as this one throughout your lives. I'm 21 and this is the first family member I have ever lost. It's really hard and kind of hasn't even set in yet. We've been sitting around making the arrangements and it still doesn't feel real.

I can't say enough good about this man, my Poppy. He was thebest husband to my Grammy, the best father to 4 children, the best grandfather to 7 children and the best great grandfather to 5 children. As we all grew up, he was always there for us. He coached baseball for my dad and my uncle, watched every soccer game and dance competition for my brother and I. Then the older cousins had kids and Poppy was always there to watch my little second cousin Mikey play baseball or test for his next karate belt. Even if we just needed to talk, Pop could always be called on. I spoke to him last about 2 weeks prior to this all and he was fine, laughing and joking with everyone like he always did. This man was someone who you could NOT hate, even if you tried. Every one who came in contact with him loved him so much. I loved and will always love him so much. There really are no words to explain how great of a man he was. I'm so proud to say that he was MY Poppy and that I had the pleasure of having the world's greatest grandpa.

RIP Poppy 10/25/1927-11/28/2008
We love you and miss you already.

Please pray for my family at this trying time. I'll be back after this is all over with and have a more cheery update for you. Thanks in advance

As many of you know I lost my Poppy on Friday :sad1: There's only a few things out there that can really cheer me up and, luckily, DISing/Disney happens to be one of them :) So, I finallyyyyy have scanned some pictures from my previous trips to the World. Going through all the old photo albums looking for pictures of my Pop led me to picking out pics of Disney.

As shown in my siggie I've been to Disney 4 times previously, only once staying on-site in 2005. My parents own a timeshare so when we went with them when I was younger, we always stayed at the timeshare. My parents are actually in the process of planning a trip to Florida for their 25th wedding anniversary in June! However, they are staying off-site at a timeshare and will most likely only visit Epcot. My dad's not really a Disney kind of guy unfortunately :confused3 They will be getting some of the magic though and while they're down there I'll be back up here on LI living my normal boring life :rotfl: Anyway, to the pictures.

Attention:: One may want to hit up the bathroom and empty their bladders prior to looking at these pictures as the stylistic choices may cause uncontrollable laughter. Thank you.

We'll start with the earliest Disney memory. That would be my third birthday in August 1990. My mom had a Mickey character come to my house for my party. Great idea right? Wrong. I was petrified of the character and my mom or other family member had to hold me anytime he came around. Here I am in my Minnie bathing suit with my mom::
http://i167.photobucket.com/albums/u124/xoktenox/disney.jpg
Next we'll go to my first trip down to Disney in October 1994. I was 7 and even though my brother looks like he's probably only about 3, he was going to be 5 in less than a month. Here's me with Chip/Dale, not sure which one::

Next up we have the second trip we went on in October 1998. I was 11 and Kevin was almost 9. This trip we took with my Grammy and Poppy. A very good picture of us, including Poppy, is on one of the picture boards my cousins, brother and I made so when I get it back I will post it. The first picture is Kevin and I during a character interaction at AK. Let me just say that the shirt I'm wearing here was my very first spaghetti strap tank top and it was from Delias. I wore it every chance I got and really thought I was hot stuff in it :lmao: My dad is the man with the dark hair over on the right::

Here we are waiting on line for the teacups at MK (apparently my mom took most of the pictures as she's not in any!)::
http://i167.photobucket.com/albums/u124/xoktenox/disney005.jpg
Our third family trip came in October 2001. We actually went about a month after 9/11...and yes we flew. I was 14 and Kevin was almost 12. Yes, he looks approximately 9, I know. I couldn't find any good pictures of us actually in the parks :confused3 Here's a couple that are taken at our timeshare. It was called the Polynesian Isles. My dad, brother and I outside of our condo::

Here we are playing mini-golf at the timeshare. I was so skinny and it makes me soooo sad to see this picture now being that I'm like 30 lbs heavier (and 3 inches taller) :sad2:::
http://i167.photobucket.com/albums/u124/xoktenox/disney012.jpg
Lastly I have only one picture from my trip in July of 2005. All the others came out terrible as I had used a disposable camera and they're all so dark. Or they included a person who I now consider to be the scum of the Earth...either or. Anyway, here I am trying on a Beast hat. I believe I'm in MK::

Ok, hopefully I didn't bore anyone to tears with those pictures...I think some of them are pretty cute :cutie:  Thanks for being patient with me not updating for so long! Have a great week everyone :goodvibes

So if all the craziness that went on at the end of last week and the beginning of this week wasn't enough, Monday my entire family started getting sick. I don't just mean had the sniffles, will be better after they take some cold medicine and get some rest sick, I mean up all night with it coming out of both ends sick  TMI, Sorry!!! Well it started with my great uncle and ended up getting some aunts, a couple cousins, a few uncles and my dad, brother and I infected. My brother and dad were up all night Tuesday night and when I woke up for work Wednesday I knew something wasn't right. I went to work for 2.5 hrs before I went home and stayed in bed for the rest of the day and all day Thursday. :sad2: We're all feeling much better today so it was luckily just some kind of virus that cleared up quickly and not the flu.

Today I took the second part of a civil service test for my county. I took the Account Clerk test back at the beginning of October and since I passed that test I took the Account Clerk Typist test today. It was just a quick 5 minute test that you needed to type 30 wpm with 96% accuracy. I passed :yay: I had 60 wpm with 98% accuracy. Then I took my Grammy out to lunch and ran some errands with her. She was really happy to get out of the house and keep her mind off of everything thats been going on. Still, there were a few times where she turned the conversation to my Poppy. She's doing really well considering she lost her husband after 60 yrs of marriage and I'm so proud of her

So here's my newest Disney news:: STILL NO ADR'S! I know I'm not the only one who this is affecting but its really a pain in the butt. Good news is I heard yesterday that DVC is teaming with RCI timeshare group as of Jan 2009...the same group my parents own in :goodvibes This means there is a possibility that I may be able to stay in one of the DVC resort villas for only about $200 for the week (the week exchange fee.) I will be beyond excited because if we get it not only will we be upgrading our hotel substatially but we'll be saving SO MUCH MONEY! I'm going to have my mom call RCI next week to see about it being that they want to book a timeshare week for their vacation in June. Wish me luck!!

As much as I hate to admit it, I think I've gone over to the croc side...but ONLY for our trip as I need to have comfortable shoes that will not give me blisters after one day. Usually I'm a flip flop girl but I don't want to run the risk of a blister between my toes after one day. I went onto shoebuy.com and found these...I don't consider them to be TOO horrible::
http://i167.photobucket.com/albums/u124/xoktenox/crocs.jpg
The pearl white will match pretty much everything. I guess I'll deal with wearing crocs, but only for Disney, its the only place that makes it worth it

A while back I mentioned that I had redone the outside of my trip binder thanks to a design from mickeysmyboy (THANKS!!) Well here are the pictures I promised::

With Christmas approaching I decided the gift I would ask my parents for would be a laptop. I have my own desktop that conked out after 2 years a couple of months ago and I just haven't had the money to get someone to look at it. I looked on the Dell website and decided on this laptop in the same color...I can never have enough things pink :) ::
http://i167.photobucket.com/albums/u124/xoktenox/dell.jpg
My mom just had me order it :yay: It comes with 3 yrs virus protection, 3 GB memory, 250 GB hard drive and some kind of upgraded processor. I'm so incredibly excited because I can take it with me to school when I start again.

Lastly, some people had wanted a picture of the gorgeous necklace BF had gotten me for my college graduation. Since I'm not getting mine back from repair for another like 3 or 4 weeks, here's the picture straight from the Zales website::

Yikes! I'm sorry everyone in your family got sick!! I hope everyone gets better quickly!!

The ADR thing stinks!! I can't believe a big company like disney can't get this right!!! I hopefully it means their working out any kinks and when the new system is up and running there will be no glitches!

That's so great about the timeshare!!! One day we will own DVC!! But, that will be a few years off now with the economy the way it is.

The crocs are cute!!! Of course, I love my crocs! I have on my pink Mammoth crocs right now! I bought a pair of purple maryjanes in the spring but my feet are really wide at the front and they didn't fit right. My 13 year
old niece was very excited when I gave them to her!

Your Disney notebook looks great!! What a great packet of stuff your TA sent!!!

The laptop is great!!! I love my laptop!!!!

Your necklace is beautiful!!! What a great BF you have!! I can't believe how long it's taking to get it

I'm a little nervous about the crocs, I've never worn them before and I have pretty small feet. I've been told to go a little big with them so I think I'm going to go for a 7 and see. The website shoebuy.com has free return shipping so if anything I'll just send them back if they don't fit.

I'm glad you had a good vacation! Can't wait to see pics!

Thanks! Here come the pics:goodvibes

Ok so as I said this week's been busy. I've been on vacation from work and been getting alot of Christmas related things done. I love Christmas soooo much just the whole spirit of the holiday makes me happy. I love seeing all the lights, decorating, baking, being with my loved ones, it's just the best. So, after working all day Monday, Tuesday was Christmas shopping day. I got lots of shopping done and I will pride myself in saying I did not spend a ridiculous amount of money...near ridiculous yes but it didn't reach the ridiculous mark yet

Wednesday Chris and I went into NYC to see the tree in Rockefeller Center, do some shopping (mostly window shopping) and just see the city at Christmas time. For those of you who have never been to NYC, you don't know what you're missing. It's amazing. We try and get in there once every couple of months or so. It's only about an hour or so to drive in from where I live on Long Island but we always take the train. The driving in the city is just plain scary. I don't mind doing 75 mph down the Long Island Expressway with people weaving in and out of traffic but I will NOT drive in the city. So we opt for the train. We took a train at 12:11 pm and got in at around 1:30 pm. Our first stop was Macy's. This Macy's is the biggest store in the world, literally. My main goal was to see Santa and have our picture taken. I'd been to Macy's a number of times before during the holiday season but always on weekends...the line to see Santa was always LOOOOOOONG. But today was Wednesday so we were in luck, no line at all. :woohoo: There's a cute little pathway that you have to take in order to get to Santa and its decorated great. Here's some pics that I snapped along the way::

Continued from previous post...

Here's a final picture of me and this huge elephant in Macy's. It was too cool not to take a picture with! Oh and did I mention it was nearly 60º outside and raining most of the day? Yeah, forgot that didn't I. It's not supposed to be 60º and raining in NYC on December 10th! I was a little mad. Anyway, here it is::
http://i167.photobucket.com/albums/u124/xoktenox/Christmas%2008/xmas001.jpg

After Macy's we decided we were hungry so we went to Bubba Gump Shrimp Co. for lunch. It's themed after the movie Forrest Gump for anyone who doesn't know. We had both been there before but it's so cute and the food is delicious. So we walked there and of course got right in because it was a weekday. Here was the view from the window across from us. It wasn't actually this dark out, I just don't know how to use my camera that well lol::
http://i167.photobucket.com/albums/u124/xoktenox/Christmas%2008/xmas023.jpg
http://i167.photobucket.com/albums/u124/xoktenox/Christmas%2008/xmas029.jpg
http://i167.photobucket.com/albums/u124/xoktenox/Christmas%2008/xmas030.jpg
We got some kind of chicken strips that were soooo good for our appetizer. Sorry no food porn pics! Then to eat I had the "I'm Stuffed Shrimp." It was shrimp stuffed with crab meat. It was delishhhh! The only negative about it, for me at least, was the crab meat had peppers in it and I don't like peppers. Needless to say I only ate about half of the crab meat but the shrimps were amazing. Chris has a bacon cheeseburger...he doesn't eat seafood lol But he said it was a really good burger and judging by his clean plate, I'm gonna say he was probably right on. The waiter told us about a holiday drink that they had at the time, some kind of peppermint milkshake that you could also add vodka to. I opted to get it, without the vodka though as I thought adding alcohol would kind of ruin the drink. I'm glad I didn't add it because the drink was soooo good. I do have a picture of it::
http://i167.photobucket.com/albums/u124/xoktenox/Christmas%2008/xmas028.jpg
Yummmmyyyyy it was. It even came with a disco ball glass that lights up at the bottom and changes colors. I got to take that home. I also took some pictures of the restaurant itself. Here's one of the signs up on the wall as we were walking in::
http://i167.photobucket.com/albums/u124/xoktenox/Christmas%2008/xmas024.jpg
These sayings from the movie were written on the table::

http://i167.photobucket.com/albums/u124/xoktenox/Christmas%2008/xmas025.jpg
This was also on our table::
http://i167.photobucket.com/albums/u124/xoktenox/Christmas%2008/xmas027.jpg
Here's Chris after signing the bill lol::
http://i167.photobucket.com/albums/u124/xoktenox/Christmas%2008/xmas031.jpg
In the last picture you can see the license plates behind Chris. The one you can see said "RUN FORREST RUN" and when you flipped it over the other one said "STOP FORREST STOP." If you needed a waiter or waitress for anything you just flip the "STOP FORREST STOP" sign over and a passing waiter/waitress will get what you need. It's really cute. Our waiter was Blake and he was really cool. He even did a Forrest Gump trivia with us asking us questions like "What was Forrest's favorite soda to drink?" and "What color were Leuitenant Dan's shoes in 1968?" We got the answers right and won a packet of Equal and a packet of Sweet and Lo.
Eating here made me realize how much I also love the movie Forrest Gump. I remember seeing it when it first came out (1994 when I was 7:rotfl2: ) and not understanding most of it. Then I watched it again a few years ago and so much more of it makes sense. Forrest was a good guy :) He enjoyed the simple things in life and I think we all need to stop and smell the roses a little more like he did.

Ok, well I have to go for now, errands to run with my mom. I'll be back later tonight (if not tonight definitely tomorrow) with the rest of our NYC trip and the decorations we put up around my house :goodvibes Thanks for reading!

I love NYC -- it's been several years since I was there and it was never at Christmas -- I would love to see it all decorated.

Fun photos from Macy's and Bubba Gump's! All I could think about when I was looking at Macy's Christmas decorations was David Sedaris's Santaland Diaries when he writes about working as an elf at Macy's -- good stuff!

Great pictures from NYC! We went to the city at the every end of November last year to see the Christmas show at Radio City, the tree, etc, etc. Of course, we went to World of Disney too! :lmao: There was no way I was missing that! We took the Hampton Jitney, it was so easy!! We would have gone this year but it just seemed to much with WDW coming up so fast!

Bubba Gump sound so fun!! I love the license plate idea!!! To cute!

NYC is great, period, but even better at Christmas. You should definitely check it out if you can sometime. I hope I don't sound too stupid saying this but I never heard of that book! It sounds really cool though, I'll have to try and get it from the library. Glad you liked the pics, and yes I did have my VB hipster with me. It was perfectttt! Good trial run for WDW :goodvibes

To cute!

Glad you liked the pics! I really just love going into NYC...last year some friends and I saw The Grinch on broadway in early December. It rained that day too  I had seen the Grinch the year before that too with my parents. I've seen the Radio City Rockettes a few times and I saw A Christmas Carol when I was younger. Everything there is just amazing. I love seeing shows on Broadway, too bad they're so expensive! When I finish writing about our day you'll see that we didn't end up getting to World of Disney :sad1: BUT, BF promised me we would go in again before our trip and hit it then. :goodvibes

Bubba Gump's was very fun! :thumbsup2

The shows really are crazy expensive!! DD asks from time to time about going to a show. I always give her my favorite answer, "we'll see" :rolleyes1 Disney on broadway is running some sort of deal I heard on the radio. I think it's a kid gets in free with an adult. I may look into that for her birthday!

Go to the website mousesavers.com (idk if you've ever gone there before but it's a great help) and they have some really great discounts going on right now on Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast and Mary Poppins. I believe there's a discount for buy one get one free. You should definitely check into it. I really would love to see any of those shows but my dream show right now would be the new Shrek musical. I LOVE Shrek and I think it would be awesome  (not using that smiley because I'm sick but because it's green like Shrek :rotfl: )

DD really wants to see the Little Mermaid and they both get all excited when they see the Shrek commerical! Going without a discount would cost like $400 plus the cost of the jitney, which is another $100, then food, then of course we have to buy stuff!! At the end of the day we would have spent like $800!! :scared1:

I'm here! HI! Cute pix- I'm a little intimidated by NYC, but I def. want to go and do all the tourist-y stuff someday. Maybe in 5 years or so-when the kids are bigger.

There's a Bubba Gump Shrimp Co. out here in CHicago, it's on "the list". :rotfl2:

I can't believe you didn't get to WoD! :confused3 Oh well, next time, eh?

And, um, young lady, I caught the dig about being 7 in 1994 again. :snooty: :rotfl2:

You can definitely find discounts for the shows right now because the theater district is hurting bad with this economy. Did you guys ever take the train? Kids ride for like $2 round trip and depending on where you go from both you and your DH would be like $40 total, $50 at most. I always go from Ronkonkoma but I know thats a bit more of a hike for you guys and I'm not sure what the closest station is to Mattituck.

NYC is a little intimidating, even for someone whose been there lots of times. I do think waiting til the kids are older would be a good idea because its a long day of walking if you don't intend on taking the subways or a taxi. Definitely try Bubba Gump, I knew there were a few more besides the one in NYC but I didn't know there was one so close to you guys. Go for it!

You'll hear the WoD story when I finish the next update but basically it was pouring by the time we got to the tree and I got all side tracked and by the time I remembered to find out exactly what block it was on, we were back in Time Square and neither of us felt like walking in the rain to get back there. Not to mention it was like 5:30 pm and all the NYC regulars that work out there and stuff were hogging up the sidewalks

I was hoping you'd catch the 7 yr old comment :rotfl: you know I kid, I kid :goodvibes

Hi Kristen! I just found your report and was so psyched to find not only someone my age, but someone from NY! I'm 21 and also in NY, but I'm in the city. I also have a 10-year old Shih-Tzu so that practically makes us like long-lost twins, right? My family has a vacation home in Rocky Point on the north shore. I'm sure you've heard of it but it's a really small little beach town. I love LI!

I just read through your whole report and I'm so sorry about your Poppy :sad1: One of my grandpa's passed away when I was 2 so I really don't remember much, but my grandma passed unexpectedly in 2004 and it killed me. She was the first person I really lost from my family and it was so hard to deal with. I hope everyone in your family is doing OK :flower3:

OK, on to happier things. Your plans look great! You and your BF are so cute together and are going to have such a great time. Only 4 more months to go! :woohoo: And I loved your pics from Macy's and Bubba Gump! I'm bringing my little cousin to see Santa at Macy's on Friday and I can't wait. And how gorgeous is the tree in Rockefeller Plaza? My dad works at NBC so we're always in Rockefeller Center, and it never looks more gorgeous than it does around the holidays :lovestruc Bubba Gump is fun too! I went for the first time with my friend Glenn this past summer and loved it. It was way overpriced (but what isn't in the city, right?) but the theming and food were awesome.

I'm subscribing and looking forward to reading more!

:welcome: :wave2: I just got so excited reading your post! Thanks so much for joining in, as soon as I finish writing this I'm going to subscribe to your threads :goodvibes I love finding people my age here but there's not many! (No offense to anyone! )

So if you're in Brooklyn you're probably only about 50 mins from me, but of course I know where Rocky Point is. I live in Shirley which is probably like 20 minutes or so from Rocky Point. I think we def might be long lost twins too, don't you just love your shih-tzu?! Mine's name is Juliet, whats yours? Shes really the most precious thing and my family loves her like shes another kid :lovestruc

I'm sorry to hear about your loss of your grandpa and grandma :sad1: I already miss my Poppy so much and I'm sure you feel the same. He was the first person for me to lose in my family too. My other grandpa (my mom's dad) passed away about a year and a half before I was born, my mom was only 22. So I didn't know him at all but I hear about him all the time from my grandma and mom.

But like you said, happier topics now :flower3: Thank you for the compliments on my BF and I. Both of us are just so excited (me more though lol) and the trip cannot come soon enough. NYC was so much fun, even though it rained on us :headache: I LOVE seeing the tree and the city all decked out for Christmas. Funny that your dad works for NBC because as we were walking away from the tree and heading back to Times Square we passed the NBC store. I'm a big fan of the show Law and Order and a few years back my parents were going to buy me a Law and Order t-shirt from the NBC store but they didn't know if I would wear it so they ended up not getting it. As we passed the store last week I was very tempted to go in there and buy the shirt. I even said to Chris that we should go in but it was so nasty out and I realized I didn't really have the cash to buy more souvenirs :confused3

I'm so glad you joined in and I'm going over to your reports now :goodvibes

I love how much we have in common! My Shih-Tzu's name is Oreo. That was her name when we got her and my mom had a cat named Oreo growing up so she thought it was cute and we kept it. I wish we would have named her a really cute, over-the-top girlie name. I'm completely obsessed with Summer Heights High on HBO, do you watch it? Chris Lilley plays all different characters and one of them's a really nasty private school girl named Ja'mie, pronounced Ja-May. I always go around the house calling Oreo Ja'mie now and she just looks at me like I'm insane  OK, that was a completely random story :lmao:

My bro and cousin Cari LOVE Law and Order! Which one do you watch? They love SVU. The NBC store's way overpriced, you'd probably be better off ordering a shirt anyway. Are you done with school yet? My final don't end until 5:30 on December 23  UGH!

We def have so much in common lol Oreo is a cute name, I had a friend back in high school who called my dog Oreo just because he felt like it and she was black and white. He swore her name was supposed to be Oreo:confused3  We call Juliet Julie (and various other names that cannot be posted on a family friendly site) but her registered name with the AKC is Princess Juliet...something like the AKC can only have a certain number of dogs with the same name a year? idk how true that is but that's her legal name lol I've never watched Summer Heights High, when is it on?

I watch Law and Order SVU and Criminal Intent...I rarely catch the new episodes that are on NBC I always watch the reruns on USA or TNT so sometimes I even catch the old regular Law and Order. Either way they're all great. I'm not actually in school this semester, I finished my bachelor's over the summer and then took this semester off to decide exactly what I wanted to do. I had originally planned to go to law school (actually I had planned that since I was like 13) but decided that just wasn't the route for me. So I start again on January 24th at Dowling. Good luck with you finals!!! :goodvibes

p.s. I just realized I never subbed to your PTR last night when I read it so I'm going to right now!

So when I last left off Chris and I had just finished eating our late lunch at Bubba Gump. In the middle of our meal it started to rain, pretty hard this time. Luckily we were prepared with umbrellas but still, it wasn't too fun walking around on crowded sidewalks while it rained. Oh, 2 sidenotes before I go on::

One, I forgot to mention that after Macy's and before we ate we went to Foot Action. I really wanted Nike Shox for Christmas because most of them are like over $100 and I would never spend that much on sneakers for myself. So I picked out the pair I wanted, tried them on and Chris got them for me for one of my presents for xmas. They gray and pink and I just love them :goodvibes BUT, I went to wear them the other day and I now have come to the conclusion that they're too big :confused3 I know, I tried them on but I never walked in them and I walked around my house in them and they're just too big. So now I need to head to the mall where there's another Foot Action to exchange them for a smaller size. I'm annoying, I know.

Two, as Jackie (CP) noticed, I'm sporting my Vera Bradley hipster that I purchased a while back for our Disney vaca. Let me say it was the perfect bag for the day and I just know it will be perfect in Disney :yay:

Back to the city:: Ok so after stuffing our faces we hit up the Virgin Megastore. Chris and I got there everytime we're in the city because it really is a MEGAstore. It's huge and has everything from clothes to DVD's to CD's to books and more. We just spend like almost an hour looking around at everything. Then it was time to head over to the tree in Rockefeller Center. It was still raining, harder now. After the treck through the elements we made it to the tree. It was still as beautiful as I remember it. Here's some pictures I took. Remember that it was raining and also remember that I'm a terrible photographer with a crappy camera.

The ice rink that I'm dying to one day be able to skate on is also right behind the tree. Usually theres a huge line and the day we went the skaters were absolutely soaked. I'm spastic enough as it is and don't need rain on the ice to make it worse. This is just the pretty statue thats there::

And here's me and my love in front of the tree::
http://i167.photobucket.com/albums/u124/xoktenox/Christmas%2008/xmas050.jpg
We had random ladies take our picture so I wasn't to particular as to how it came out.

Ok, here is where we SHOULD have headed to World of Disney, however; I'm a spacey, ditzy blonde girl and totally forgot when we were close to it. I remember when we had already walked back to Times Square...in the rain. Instead of walking back we decided to hit WoD in a couple months when we come back. Next up we went to M&M World. This place is just plain cool and
I am easily amused by the amount of m&m's in that place. Of course I got 1/2 a lb of pink m&m's like I always do. princess: Here's some pictures::
I took this while crossing the street in a mob of pedestrians

Dear God,
Please let the "camera adds 10 lbs" myth be true.
Thank you,
Kristen

After that we were just sick of the rain so we high tailed it back to Penn Station to catch the train home. Even though it rained on us most of the day, it was still fun and I can't wait to go in again.

I knew that you weren't in school, I'm just to used to asking everyone around this time of year, lol. I remembered reading in your PTR that you're starting again in January. Good luck! You're going back for education right?

I love the new pics! The one of you two in front of the tree came out really good! Sorry you had to deal with the rain but at least you guys didn't let it slow you down. I've actually only been to the M&M store once and it was just to run into the bathroom :lmao: Crazy, right?! Same with the Virgin Megastore! I was there once and it was for a 2Gether meet and greet back in, like, 2003. Remember 2Gether, from the MTV movie? I LOVED them! I have to get back to both stores again. The World of Disney, on the other hand, I drag my family and friends to every few months :lmao: I actually like it better than the World of Disney one and I love the character meet and greets! Have you been to that one yet?

Ok I read your edited post lol OMG I can't believe you liked 2gether! I loved them and thought the movie was the funniest thing! I can still recite lines from the movie and I was so sad when QT died.:guilty:

Funny story, when I was a senior in high school I was captain of our kickline/dance team. Well for pep rally every year the seniors from my team, the senior cheerleaders and then a bunch of senior sports players, girls and guys, do a funny senior dance. Since I was the cpt of the dance team, I choreographed it and it was like a girls vs. guys theme. So all the songs were like N'Sync, Backstreet Boys, Destiny's Child, B2K (boy and girl bands) and at one point I had the girl on one side and the guys on the other and we did the whole You, Plus Sign, Me, Equal Sign, USSSS thing facing eachother doing the arm motions and everything. So fun and hilarious and when you said 2gether I automatically thought of that. :rotfl2: idk what it is about little kids but I just know I wouldn't be able to deal with them, I have a low tolerance for them lol I have a friend who is student teaching in our old high school right now and she's only like 5'0 and she gets mistaken by security as a student all the time :lmao:

I LOVED all those boybands and pop groups of the late 90s. I was OBSESSED with Hanson for years and years. I still listen to them and their new stuff's actually really, really good. At my little party in school yesterday my professor asked who the worst boy band was just as a random question. My friend Umair said Hanson and I went off on him for like 10-minutes  That show you guys put on sounded like so much fun! My friends and I used to always play Spice Girls in 5th grade :lmao: We'd each be one of the girls (I was always Posh) and we'd get dressed up and talk in fake British accents and carry around our Spice Girls dolls. And we'd wear our giant platforms, of course ;) I had the greatest platform sneakers, I miss those! Do you remember the Spice Girl lollipops that came with the stickers? I'd LOVE to find one of those again, they'd bring back so many memories!

I was the HUGEST boy band fan, I was completely in love with NSYNC (and still am in love with Justin Timberlake). I saw NSYNC in concert twice and then Justin 3 times just by himself. I'm in love:love: lol I never really was a big Hanson fan except I remember my friend and me dancing around her basement to MMBop a few times  I actually was just talking to someone today about how its so weird that all the Hanson brothers are married with kids...makes me feel like I'm gettin old! Spice Girls, I loved them too! My friends and me of course used to play SG too and I always got to be Baby because I was blonde and even if someone else wanted to be her I always won out because I was the blonde haha I don't remember the lollipops though I think I was deprived of those. I do remember having platform sneakers though :rotfl2:

Hey! Just had to stop over and check out your TR after seeing you on Mel's TR. I am liking it so far! It's so much fun to get to know people that are on here AND are your age!

I LOVE your Halloween costumes! I don't think the neon orange looked THAT bad. It was very original and looks better than the wig!

As you can tell by my name and my sig, I love Tinkerbell-so of course I love your PJ stuff you got! Those pants were a large?! They're HUGE! Hope they fit okay!

Your bag that you got for the parks looks cute. Let me know if the strap bothers you or anything because I'm thinking about trying a bag like that next trip.

Love your NYC pics! My sis just returned from there. She was in the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade!

You're not that much older than me so don't worry, you're not old, period! I'm pretty sure you left today to go to the wedding and then in a few days you're off to the World! Hope you're already having a great time. :goodvibes

You were absolutely right that we had already left by the time you posted this so I just saw it. The wedding was enh but the trip to the World was fabulous!

I'm all caught up and am super envious of your trip to NYC. I've never been and would like to visit just once. I think it would be so fun! Sorry it rained on y'all all day.

I look forward to watching your plans unfold! I'll have to live vicariously through you now!

My friend Nicole and I went up to SNL to meet Nsync though when they were on and they were really mean :headache: Lance smiled and said hi, and Joey stopped for a picture which we chalked up to him being from Brooklyn so of course he was the coolest ;) The rest didn't even look at us. Hey, :welcome: so glad you came over here to join! I definitely love meeting people over here too and it's cool to find people my age who love Disney like I do...I don't tell alot of people about my obsession because they will make fun of me! The neon orange Halloween hair wasn't too bad and the party we went to was pretty dark so it toned it down...the worst part was that it made my hair feel like disgusting straw. ick. The PJ pants were a large and yes they are huge...but the waist is stretchy so its ok, I wear them all the time because they're soo comfy! :lovestruc

My VB bag was great when we were in NYC. The strap didn't bother me at all but I also was wearing a jacketand/or a t-shirt and in Disney I'll be wearing tank tops or tube tops most of the time. So I'll try it again with a little less covering clothing and let you know how it is :)

I love NYC, you should definitely try and get there at least once. Where are you from? It's probably in your info but I'm oblivious lol How was your sister in the Macy's parade?! Thats so cool and I'm jealous!!

Glad to hear you had such a great time at the World and I can't wait until you start your TR! NYC was great even in the rain, you should definitely try and get there at one point or another. I wish I had more Disney type updates but right now with the hold up on the ADR's and waiting to see if I can switch to the BCV until the 1st of the year, everything's at a halt! :headache:

:rotfl: Funny, at first I HATED nsync too because I was such a big BSB fan! I always would tell everyone they were "biters." But then my love affair with Justin Timberlake began, his blonde curly hair just sucked me in :lmao: So then I fell in love with nsync and BSB took a back seat. I am not surprised that they were nasty when you met them at SNL though. Justin and JC were probably too stuck up in their popularity, Lance was gay so he didn't care, no one like Chris and Joey seems like he'd be a really cool guy...definitely because he's from Brooklyn :thumbsup2

Omg, same here. The only ones that really know my obsession is my family and b/f!

I'm from Illinois...land of the ice storm tonight! Luckily, my b/f and I made it home from college early this afternoon before it hit!

My sis was in the parade because...every year our high school seniors who are cheerleaders/poms gets to be in it with the Universal Cheerleaders Association/Universal Dance Association and this year there was only one senior and my sis is a junior and she didn't want the senior to have to go alone so she went with! I missed her SO much. And I was SO nervous for her because we've never been in a BIG city like NYC before! She was on the 41st floor of the Hilton and said the elevator ride was long and scary! When the parade was on tv, we found her a couple times so that was neat! I'm so jealous of her too because I've always wanted to go to NYC and now she got to go and she's going again next year as a senior!

I just started my TR from my June trip so you have to join in!

I'm super jealoussss! And even though I've been to the city a hundred time I've never stayed there in a hotel or anything...from what I've seen on TV and stuff they're amazing though and 41 floors would def be scary!

Yes, I was a dancer thats so cool that you were too! I started dancing at 3 yrs old, started competing at 8 then made kickline/dance team in HS when I was a freshmen, did them both at the same time but then it got to be too much. Then I quit regular competition dance and just did kickline at school until I graduated. I was even captain my senior year. What kind of dance did you do?

Yeah, it was really icy and bad all day! My sis got the day off of school!

I started dancing when I was 5 at a dance school not too far from here at nights...then started going into competitions when I was 9 or 10...then I was in poms during high-school. But of course, I dislocated my knee twice and had to quit before my senior year- so I didn't get to go to Macy's OR enjoy my senior year on the squad!

Sadly, my knee hasn't been the same since. I can still do some, but then I have to stop. At WDW, after a long time of walking, I have to stop and sit down for a few minutes because it'll start hurting. I had to quit dancing/sports because they didn't want me to risk further injury and they were trying to avoid surgery at all costs. Bummer.

I actually was a nerd and got my bachelor's in 3 yrs...so thats the only reason I took a break because I didn't know what I wanted to do with it after I got it. My degree is in political science and psychology since I double majored. I was planning on going to law school but I changed my mind. Don't you love just love psychology? When I first started college, I was going to be a Dental Hygienist and then I did a co-op job at a dental office and found out that it was not for me! I took a psychology class and fell in love! I go to the University of Wisconsin-Platteville...has maybe 20 or 25 students per class. I just got done taking a class this semester where there was only 3 people in it because it was an upper level class and no one wanted to take it!

Thanks! :) It wasn't hard actually being a double major. If you're doing a major and a minor already it wouldn't be hard to be a double major. I feel like if you were going to be a Dental Hygenist you might as well have just become a dentist. I feel the same for physician's assitant. Its basically the same job and you just get paid less and thats not fair! :confused3 lol Psych was definitely such a cool major. That's cool that you have small classes. My school I graduated from was HUGE so a small class for me had 50 kids in it. Some of the psych classes I took had like 200 people crammed in a lecture hall. NOT very fun. 3 people! That's insane but good because the teacher probably got to know you all way better and in turn be a better teacher.

Yeah, it was not very fun at all but the teachers had microphones, like the little ones that they can clip on their shirts. So it was fine to hear most of the time, luckily.

Merry Christmas! Hope you have a wonderfully magical day tomorrow!

Thank you Jackie!

MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE! I hope everyones day is filled with love and joy and spent with the ones you love. :santa:

A big Christmas update will come within the next few days. BF and I need to hit the mall tomorrow (crazy, I know) to exchange a few things including the sneakers I tried on in NYC that I decided now don't fit me. He also got me these GORGEOUS black Ugg boots that I'm in love with...however, they're the high ones that almost come up to my knees and have a zipper on the inside. I have unusally small feet for someone my height and size...that couples with the calves of someone who danced for 14 yrs (aka, they're huge) means that the zipper only zipped about half of the way up :headache:  So we need to see if there are any others that we can exchange them for. I felt really bad because BF was really excited to give them to me and put alot of thought into them, only for them to have to be returned. Oh well. Goodnight everyone!
