There were four of us in our party--DH and me (celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary), my best friend (celebrating her birthday) and her DH (his first ever Disney trip). We all received Year of a Million Dream Ears as we exited Splash Mountain. We kept one set of ears for each family and then shared the others with two little children that we saw at Crystal Palace for breakfast.
When DH and I got home, we had a box from Disney which I assumed was one of our Disney shipments, but it wasn't. We received a Disney Dreams Giveway "specialized Disney Dreams Prize Pack" which consisted of: Dream Mickey and Minnie Plush Dolls, Disney Dream Photo Album, Picture Frame, Coffee Cup, Can of Jelly Beans, Duffel Bag, Starter Pin Trading Kit and a Disney Gift Card.

Wow, how awesome! How wonderful that you shared the ears! I love the gift you got when you got home. I've never heard of anything like that and it had to be a huge thrill.

It was a huge thrill. I guess sending in those daily postcards paid off. The biggest surprise was the Gift Card--I thought it would be $20--it was over $300!

Thank you! I don't know how we'll ever top this trip and all the pixie dust (as you will see we received in my trip report under the Resorts thread entitled something like "Yet Another Spectacular Stay at the CSR").

Forgive the ignorance... but how does all of this "Dreams" stuff work?

During the Year of a Million Dreams, there are Dream Teams that walk around Disney's parks and give away "dreams" -- fast passes, Mickey Ears, night in the castle, etc. You can also send in a post card every day through December (18th might be final day...not sure) and win that way.

I'm assuming we won it by sending in the postcards every day which you need to put your address, phone number and date of birth on.

Oh, I thought it was connected to the in park prize and couldn't understand how they would know. I'm surprised that there wasn't some type of explaination as to how or why you received the gift. Lucky you!!
