OK - I ALWAYS get the cobb salad at BD. But it's 2 app credits and it will just be me and DS (4) on this trip. How does that work? Does that mean I just plain, flat out can't get the cobb salad?? :scared: (No, I'm not willing to shell out FOURTEEN bucks for a salad!)

I'll be dining with another adult friend as well, but she doesn't have the dining plan, so there's no help there.

It's two DINING credits, not two appetizer credits. When you use deluxe credits at a WDW restaurant, you are entitled to one appetizer, one entree and one dessert. And Brown Derby is a signature restaurant, so it costs two credits instead of just one.

Whatever you ordered there, you'd pay two credits for the meal.

If you were on the basic plan, you'd still pay two credits, but you'd not be entitled to an appetizer.

Nope - the cobb salad is one of those things that requires two people (in other words) two (or four, if you will) credits to get. Kind of like those big dessert samplers that are for 2 people and they require 2 people to order them.

When DH and I went before, we could either get two appetizers (one each) or one cobb salad for two to share. We could not order the cobb salad AND another appetizer. (based on the old DDP)

This was not our experience in Feb '08. We were on deluxe and my DH got the cobb salad and I got the crab cakes.

The cobb salad is considered an appetizer? I always thought it was an entree.

I never would order the cobb salad - nor do I use the dining plan - so I don't know anything about whether it's considered an appetizer or whether it's meant for two people so must be ordered by two. I was assuming it was a regular appetizer.

The people who can answer this would be those who have experience ordering one using the deluxe plan.

Cool! Thanks! I was feeling a bit down thinking I wouldn't get my delish Cobb! Nobody does it better! (after all, they are the home of the Cobb!)

wdwluver - yup - it's an appitizer. :)

Yup, I looked back at the menu. It's on the lunch menu as an entree. Thanks.:)

Yes, DS and I ate at Brown Derby for lunch this past trip and I had the Cobb Salad as my entree.

On a previous trip, DH, DS and I ate there for dinner and I asked about the Cobb Salad appetizer for two. I was told that they could make it for one, but DH decided to have it with me so it all worked out anyhow.

So the key is to ask for the Cobb for one. Got it! (because I certainly don't need that much just for me! I do love it, but gotta save room for the entree! LOL)

Just back from Brown Derby last week and my DM had the same question for the server. She was told that yes-she could get the Cobb salad for one as her appetizer. We were on Deluxe Dining Plan credits-and ADR was for the Fantasmic Pkg.

Thanks! Good to hear this from a more recent experience too! I'm SO happy I won't have to miss out on my favorite salad!!! (minus the advacado... yucky)
