Are you a closet Disney fan? I am out of the closet at home, but when at work and with friends I am buried in the closet....somewhere behind the snow boots.
I'm sitting in a meeting today with the usual suits in a conference room. We are discussing our 3 year strategy and whether or not we should continue to expand in Asia. Everyone is buried in the presentation and I am thinking......."I wonder what Toy Story Mania is like?"......I can't believe Space Mountain is going to be closed for 1.5 yrs"............The review Pete did of the Poly was really funny"........"Should we stay at the Poly on our next trip?" ......." I should get a Poly Pin for my collection"........
I then get pulled back to work by a coworker asking me a question.
ARE YOU IN THE CLOSET OR DO YOU WEAR IT LOUD AND PROUD?

My coworkers all think I'm nuts...so I'm definitely NOT in the closet!
I have a Mickey gooseneck lamp, framed picture of me, dh and Mickey, signed Mickey postcard, Cinderella Castle postcard, stuffed Mickey a coworker gave me and TWO Mickey themed desk sets ...with a Goofy stapler that doesn't work!!
Yeah, I'm nowhere NEAR the closet! :rotfl2:

Most everyone I know thinks I'm nuts. I mentioned I was going on vacation in about a week when I was at the hair salon - someone asked me where I was going and my hairdresser said Disney World - she never goes anywhere else.:lmao:
Not exactly true, but pretty darn close.

I'm not bashful about my love for Disney. Like you, I think about it a lot. I heard a co-worker talk about vacationing at WDW this past summer. After our meeting, I made a bee-line to her office to talk Disney with her. :goodvibes

Loud and Proud. I was a Starbucks this morning and the girl behind the counter was asking how our recent trip was, she is headed down in Jan. The other cashier thought we were crazy talking about EMH, hotels, weather etc. IT was comical!
And everyone in town knows to ask me for help when planning disney trips.

Nope, no longer in the closet about my love for Disney. Everybody in my family knows that, when they are thinking about going to WDW, I'm the person to talk to. :)

Let's see, there are the sorcerer mickey ears, the golden ears, the black ears, the Mr. Potato Head disney parts (and Mr. Potato Head) and sharks from finding Nemo in my office. And a ball and chain from Pirates of Caribbean. Guess I'm not in the closet.

I think I'm a little in -- a little out. I just quit talking about it to the people I see on a regular basis because I was tired of their standard response..."oh, you're going there again?" A few of them will ask me questions from time to time because they might contemplate going to WDW or DLR, but for the most part it's just my own little private obsession.

Definitely out. My desk is huge and it's a good thing because I have my 2004 tourist Mickey beanie on it, along with tourist Mickey beanie 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008 and of course no year Where Magic Lives Mickey beanie. My bullentien board is full of Disney pins and my pencil cup full of character shaped Disney pens. I think it's my Disney coffee mug that gives me away though. :lmao:
Yep, some people make fun of me and roll their eyes.....do I care? Nope. :teeth:

It is widely known by family, friends, students, and co-workers that I'm a big Disney fan. When I went back to school so many people assumed (correctly) that I went to Disney this summer! My new assistant principal even found out about my love of Disney and I found out she's a big fan, too and her family went to Disneyland this summer. Somehow the topic of DVC came up and she seemed quite interested! :)

I'm for sure in the closet. My mom is still the one paying for my Disney trips, so she knows how annoying I can be when I want to go to Disney, and she and some other family members have seem me in action in the parks, but besides that, no one else really has any idea.

Kinda in, kinda out. Anyone who knows me well know about my Disney obsession, however most people don't.
I think most of my classes at uni does though, when we had the lesson on Disney, and i knew more than the teacher! :lmao:

are you kidding???????????????????????????????????????????
i am so far out of the closet.....i couldn't possibly get further out than i already am...
EVERYONE knows i'm a psycho disneyholic.....and that's a major understatement.....
they all make fun of us for our annual pilgrammages, but who cares.....
when they ask , "what do you DO there for 3 weeks every year ???????????"
i look at them and ask, "and what do YOU do all summer long at your cottage every year?????"
That's if i even bother answering....
i really don't care what other people think....it's their problem not mine...
i love my family.....i love life ....i love disney....if other people have a problem with that, it's their problem not mine......
you only live once...you shouldn't worry about what other people think....
if you're not hurting anyone else, then why should it be of their concern....
life's too short to worry about what the neighbors or anyone else think....
(and speaking of neighbors, we have new ones  .....i'm contemplating getting a rotweiler....'nuf said)...
In the closet at work!
While I do have a couple of the shaped pens and a couple of pencils on my desk, that is pretty much it. I don't have a lot of Disney stuff around in general. We go about every year, great for DD and I to get away.
With friends, they are realizing this year as I am planning a trip and am helping others as well. So I am opening the door to the closet with them.

I am so far out of the closet, I can't even see it anymore! :wave2:
Single gal who owns DVC. Need any more proof?
Folks at work pretty much know who to see when they are planning on heading down to the World. I had lunch with one of the Assistant as she was planning a trip for her family. I have two who already have asked me to pick up info for them when I'm down in 2 weeks.

Definitely not in the closet. Everybody that knows me knows my love for WDW. I'm often asked when my next visit is. (Usual response, "Next month" or "Just got back").

I'm out, but I'm not as visible as you might imagine.
I do have a couple of Mickey shirts and sweats I wear at work, and if I see someone's Disney Visa or Disney clothing, I always comment and strike up a conversation with them (drives my co-worker crazy). I DIS when I can at work, which also drives her crazy (she's computer illiterate, and proud of it!) My family all knows of my Disney obsession, and all of my close friends...but otherwise you'd never know it.
I do wear my Minnie ears at work on Halloween (usually my last day at work before closing for the season).

definitely OUT! of course my family knows since they have vacationed with me and I write and send out a monthly disney newsletter for our upcoming dec 09 (yes- 09!!!) trip.
most other family and friends know too as I have helped plan their trips.
at work- it's obvious- my mickey graduation ears from WDWCP are there, a framed tink pin collection and the misc figurines, mugs, pens, lithos, mickey biz card holder etc. And don't forget the jar of pixie dust sitting on my computer. :rotfl: Folks that haven't been in my office come in and are like- uh do you like disney? NO- i love it! I am starting a new job week after next and i made sure they knew I already have 2 vacations planned- uh yes, both to disney. A requirement in my job search------yep, ensuring they do at least 1-2 tradeshows (I am a Marketing Director) in orlando each year! score! they have one at the contemporary this year. :thumbsup2

"I'm comin' out! I want the world to know, gotta let it show..." as Ms. Ross would say.
Ahem. Anyway, I am sorta coming out at work. A colleague is a very big Disney fan, so she and I have been discussing Disney out of earshot of the others. Everyone at work knows I went to WDW this summer, but they think I just went for my kid's sake. Ha!
In general, though, we're expected to keep our personal lives out of the workplace.
All of my friends know. They've seen the pictures, heard the stories, and slightly question my sanity (in a very sweet way).
Some of the assumptions people make about Disney fans are a bit unfair, but whatever. We know better, right??:thumbsup2

I'm waaaaaay out (Disney OCD) and DH is way in, or so I thought. Last night, he called me and asked me if if I knew (insert 2 diser names here - they weren't from the unplugged board). I asked him why he was asking and he said while he was working an overtime assignment (DH is a ::cop:) at a soup kitchen there was a volunteer talking about her recent Disney cruise to the Panama Canal and he must've thought it was his business to start a discussion with her  about Disney. Usually I get blamed for all of the Disney trips but he started that conversation all by himself.

Nope, definately no closet for me! I'm a nurse so no office but Mickey hairclip, Mickey Crocs, Disney watch, Ariel necklace, and Ariel lanyard. I used to wear Disney scrubs too until they eliminated being able to wear print scrubs. I'm always being asked when the next trip will be!

I inherited my love of all things Disney from my parents. Our office at work (family business) is decorated throughout with animation production cels -- Disney and other studios. Oh, and there are even beanies on the wall to those characters that they match up to. BTW this is an office open to the public ;) Over my Mom's desk is an orginial Ursual and Ariel production cel from the movie. My laptop computer is Tinker Bell, my mug matches my computer and then there are the pens and misc. items in my office. Everyone knows that I'm just like my Dad when it comes to my obsession...:rotfl: So...no -- not in the closet at all!

I'm definitely out! My entire family knows, as well as my friends since I plan all of our trips when we go. My bedroom is full of Disney things, and my desk at work where I am part-time, since I'm a full-time student, has a Mickey mug, Orlando magnet with lots of characters on it, and a box of Princess sugar cookies I'm working my way thru!

Definetly out! Pictures of our family Disney trips in my office, Disney magnets on the file cabinets, Disney coffee cup...
All of my coworkers know that I go to Disney at least twice a year and it's often a topic of conversation. There are of course those that don't understand and say the "ugh, you're going to Disney again"...
I also tell them that once my husband retires we are moving to Orlando to work at Disney. :lmao:

me too - i always tell everyone that when i retire, i'm heading for orlando to work at disney...
someone i worked with 12 years ago (!!) sent an email to me in June - she just retired, moved to orlando and is working at WDW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
she knew that if anyone would understand it would be me....
and she was RIGHT!!
she said no one else could understand how she could be happy working at a store at hollywood studios....and sometimes at an outdoor cart....how could she possibly enjoy that (after having been a high tech person)....but she does....she LOVES it....

I'm most assuredly out. I have definitely been known as being "overboard" for Disney since middle school. But even still I think people don't know how deep this goes. I had one of my best friends test read the manuscript of the book I just wrote (link in signature). She finished it, loved it, but then said, "I had no idea how deep the neuroticism went." This made me think, "Something is very wrong when one of your best friends does not know the extent of your PASSION." Apparently, I have more work to do in the "outing" area.
If my book ever gets published and people read it, I think it will be clearly understood that I am neurotic about Disney.:lovestruc

I am sooo out! Was never in. Family friends and work all know I am a :lovestruc DISNEY NUT! :lovestruc
We go twice a year, so there is no hiding that lol. At work my desk is full of all us at Disney. I plan trips for people at work. They actually accused me of having an affair with Mickey :lmao: I go with DD, DH is NOT a fan of Disney and questions my sanity about it
So yes, I am OUT!

Half in, half out..I wear a Mickey watch to work, have a nurse Minnie pin on my uniform and when people ask where I'm going on vacation, I tell them.
My family knows I'm a Disney nut but I don't think the people at work know just how deep the obsession is-the last hospital I worked, there were several other Disney fans but the crowd at this hospital I'm in now would probably not get it.

I am proud to say, no closet for me. I don't even know what that is anymore. Everyone I work with knows I am a huge Disney fan. I guess my four (4)+ plus trips every year are a giveaway. When I say I am going on vacation, they all know where I am going: WDW. Even though I can't wear any of my DW clothes to work, I still have my watches.
Some of my co-workers kept teasing me about Mickey being a rat. I don't know how many times I had to correct that one.:headache: Nobody messes with my mouse.:lovestruc Now, I just say there is a rat. His name is Remy.
So, I am proudly out of the closet. Have been for years. I know they secretly really want to go. They just won't admit it. I'll just keep spreading pixie dust their way. It will happen!!!:tinker:

This thread reminds me of something funny that happened to DH at work last week. His ringtone on his cell phone is 'Please Stand Clear Of The Doors-Por Favor Mantanganse Alejado De Las Puertas' and he turns it to just vibrate when he goes to work. Well, you guessed it.....one day he forgot to change it and out of nowhere in the office eveyone hears that monorail spiel loud and clear. :lmao: He wasn't really a closet Disney fan at work anyway, but no one expected that to come from his phone. He loves it. :rotfl:

I am out, but my mom still holds out hope of me going straight.
She'll say, "Those are cute earrings- wait...are those Mickey heads?" and look disappointed. "Nice watch. Hey, is that Mickey on there?" and shake her head and wonder where she went wrong.
As revenge, I am taking my Dad on his first trip in Dec. He thinks he's just humoring me, but I know he will go home and talk about WDW nonstop when he gets back. :lmao:

I am out! That being said I only really talk about it if someones asks me for advice, I don't try to talk people into wdw. My family laughs at me but they know who to come to when there kids cry to go to wdw. They also keep there eyes out for disney things for me, we just got a set of pilsner glasses from my cousin who claims to hate disney,I think his 4 year old Princess is changin his mind!!;) At work it is commoin knowlege that I am the go to gal for wdw trips.

There is a running joke at work as to how many days until we leave for the next trip. (64 BTW) They all seem surprised that I know, to the day, no matter what. I have not even shown them the spreadsheet out of fear that they would think I was strange.
Ok...I'm kinda on the fence with this out of the closet thing. :rotfl:
I'm out of the closet with my family (I didn't used to be). As far as my co-workers, I'm not out of the closet. They kinda know I visit Disney and Orlando every so often, but they don't know how much I LOVE it!!! :thumbsup2

Out of the closet and proud. I get chastised and made fun of and I don't care. I work for an ophthalmologist and I almost got into it with a drug rep. one day over whether or not WDW was worth the money. He complained about the cost and several other things. I proceeded to make him look a bit of a fool in my knowledge and he still wouldn't lose his ego. I ended up making up an excuse about needing to do something and walked away. I still don't understand why people don't do their research before they go. This guy said he'd rather go to our tiny little Holiday World amusement park than WDW. Fine with me, 'cept now I cant jam him in the heels with my stroller. :goodvibes
