View Full Version : Where is Donald Duck??
On our last trip (2006) the one character that our son wanted to see was Donald Duck. We did not see him anywhere the whole trip. We're going in November and just this morning he said that he hopes that this time we will see Donald Duck. Is there anywhere in particular that we might find him? Is he part of any character breakfasts? :grouphug:

I saw him on my last trip on the character trails (not sure what they're called) over in Camp Minnie Mickey at AK (near the Lion King show). I think that's the only place I've seen him in a designated spot. At the beginning of your trip ask a cast member. There is a number they can call and find out where and when characters will be on particular days. Good luck:thumbsup2

He can sometimes be found at the Judge's Tent in Toontown. Or the Character Place in EPCOT (sorry can remember the name of it). It's right across from the Electric Umbrella restaurant. We've seen him in Mexico. Also he is the host of a breakfast at AK. When you get to the park, go to guest relations and ask them to call the character hotline and they will be able to tell you where is his.
Hope this helps :)
thank you ---- thank you!!

You may want to schedule a Character Breakfast that has Donald there. When we went this year in March, the only time I saw him throughout all 4 parks, was in Mexico at Epcot.

Donald Duck is hard to find I should know he is my favorite and I have ot hunt him down every trip. My suggestion is at your hotel ask the front desk to see where he will be and what time. Also if you see anotehr character in the park ask the cast member with them. There is a daily schedule of who is where.
Good Luck. Some areas I have found him, next to Mexico in Epcot, at the Character Spot in Epcot, by the Firestation in Magic Kingdom, the Judge's tent in Toon Town in MK and in Animal Kingdom in Camp Mickey Minnie.
Good Luck. Also Daisy is also hard.

Donald seems to be that long lost cousin that no one talks about.;) My sister LOVES Donald and I always have a hard time finding him or even a lot of merchandise with him. The most reliable place is the character breakfast at AK.
I like Donald because he is the same height as me.:rotfl: Kind of scary when the mouse is taller than you.

We were there last week. We saw him on numerous days in Mexico at epcot, wearing his sombrero. Also saw him in Frontierland with his coonskin cap on. Daisy was hanging out near the main entrance on two mornings in Magic Kingdom.

We usually see Donald Duck at Mexico at EPCOT. He can also be seen at the MK near the main entrance in the mornings.

On Saturday Sept 13 he was in Mexico at Epcot.
I've read on another thread that he isn't at Toontown tent anymore. Right now its just the princesses with plans for Tink and her fairy friends to join them soon in the Tent. Donald is now at Frontierland. One poster mentioned (on the other thread) that they saw him near where you buy the Turkey legs in Frontierland. Hope this helps!

We were just there last week and Donald was in Mexico at Epcot, Frontierland standing by the lake close to where the ferry runs, and also at the character trail at AK. We got pics with him all 3 times.
He is not in Toontown anymore, it's only princesses there now. We went in and it was Aurora, Cinderella, and Belle. The CM informed us that it's only princesses now and that Goofy and Donald have relocated to Frontierland. HTH
BTW we saw Frontierland Donald around 11am I do belive. And at Epcot he was at Mexico around 11:35. I know the times change, but those were the times we caught them.

I can't help you find him but, I can tell you why he's not always that easy to find. I read on the website for Disney castings that Donald is a harder roll to fill that some of the other classic characters, because the person that plays him need to be shorter than average. Ok, so maybe it's kind of obvious, but I found it interesting :rotfl:
That said, I hope you can meet him on your next trip :thumbsup2

Last August we found Donald and Daisy together at Hollywood Studios in front of the hat. They were dressed in the Year of a Million Dreams clothes. And it was a nice Donald, he kissed my daughter's hand while Daisy was signing my other daughters hat. Sneaky little devil, waiting until Daisy's back was turned and flirting with another girl.:cool1:

We were at Disney mid August and saw Donald at Donald's Safari Breakfast at Tuskar House in Animal Kingdom (did not see him at Chef Mickey on our last trip). We also saw Donald in Toontown last month. There were 2 lines going in ... 1 for the Princesses and one for Donald, Goofy and Pluto.

Donald is not in the YOAMD outfit anymore (he is back in his regular outfit). And he currently is not meeting with Daisy- the last time I saw them (a few weeks ago) Daisy was meeting with Minnie. He was by himself.

That room is closed now, unfortunately. Donald is now meeting in Frontierland.

my son was trying to give him a hug at chef mickeys. he was the first character my 3yo saw. so he was excited. obviously the duck just wanted to take the picture and be gone. when my son ran over to hug him he patted my sons seat, my son didnt know why, so he kept after him. he then pounded on my sons seat. my son looked at him, he didnt understand why. the duck them grabbed him picked him up and put him on the seat. what a jerk!! my son and i could of cared less about the possed pic, i would have rather gotten the pic of my son hugging him.
here you can see the disgust on my sons face after the duck manhandled him, poor kid. i think at this point he could have done with not ever seeing any of the characters again!

but it was quickly turned around when a very friendly mickey came over. although my son was still scared to leave his seat, he adored mickey!

I think thats pretty standard procedure at the Character meals though.. (in fact i am pretty sure the Seating CM's generally tel you that when the characters come around, to remain in your seat...)
There are people walking around with hot food and sharp instruments ... you would be even more unhappy if someone else child came running, tripped someone and you ended up with someone meal on you..
It sounds like this wasn't mentioned to you though...

i have been there 12 times. the kids always get out of the seats for pictures and hugs from the characters. i could upload countless pictures of them getting hugs from the characters. thats crazy to say the kids cant get out of the seat, thats not the policy. in fact its a buffet, everyone is out of their seats.

Even more-so omportant at a BUFFET where distracted GUESTS are walking around with the food.. When the character is at your table "Please remain seated for your own safety"
The many times i have been to Character meals, it's always been stated.
But hey, if having your child run around a croWded buffet with distracted people carrying their food around oversized characters with limited visibility is cool for you, then it's cool with me too.
the only time i have seen it acceptable to get up and dance round the dining room with a character is when the characters get up and dance around with the guests (Such as the Parade at Crystal Palace)..
but.. yes your child IS clearly disappointed in the first pic.. and Donald really shouldn't have handled him at all.. I am glad Mickey rejuvenated the magic.

Isn't there a breakfast in the morning with Donald at The Animal kingdom or is that the Tusker house?

There is no rule that people have to be in their seat for seeing the characters. However, they can't go running around trying to see them. The characters will come to their table.

exactly. instead of the word "run" i should have said my son jumped up to see him. *obviously* if donald and my son were close enough to the seat for donald to tap pound on the seat and to put my child into the seat, we were still at our table:confused3
i have 4 kids i think i know not to let them run around a restaurant:confused3

My first thought when I read this was that Donald was just being Donald. He is one crabby duck, you know?
But if you found his behavior rude and inappropriate, I hope you said something to the CMs while you were there. I can see how a child would be upset by being picked up and shoved on a chair. I wouldn't be too thrilled if my child was manhandled by any character.

i didnt. my kids were having a great time and i didnt want to ruin it. after the incedent i asked donald to leave and we didnt take any more pictures with him. i just didnt want to make a big deal out of it and ruin the magic my kids were feeling. the older ones didnt even notice, so we just let it go.
was that the right decision? i dont know, but we were caught off guard and i guess didnt really have a lot of time to decide what was the right thing to do.

They may be. I do remember they were out a day or two before Halloween. In fact, I just checked my pictures from a couple of years ago. If the date is correct, they were taken 2 days before Halloween at AK.

We just got back today and spent a lot of time at MK. It seemed like every time we walked through Frontierland to get to Splash Mountain Donald was out and there was a line to meet him.
Also - Donald was dancing in costume at Ariel's Grotto at the Halloween Party. (You can take pictures with the characters but they will not sign autographs).
