We were in bldg 18 in AB and it was a great location. It was close to the quiet pool, laundry and a bus stop. It was also close to food court. And it was only a five minute walk to Ol Man Island.
We had a corner room on the second floor and it was very bright and sunny.
I think you're going to love it at POR.

I vote for building 14, which is the closest building to the food court/main building. We asked for a ground floor, corner room (2 windows) and received it. We were the first room at the back of the building, so it was very convenient. If you go out the back way (where our room was), you walk across the parking lot to the bus stop - instead of having to go thru the main building each time. We absolutely loved this resort. Make sure to rent a surrey bike - the 5 of us did on our last day and it was one of our best memories of the trip.
Have fun.

Both 14 and 18 are good choices. 15 is good too. 14 is designated for disabled guests, but I've been able to stay in this building twice. It is the closest bayou building to the main building.

We stayed in bldg 24. Now I know that it is very far away from the main bldg/food courts/main pool. But it is right in front of a lovely quite pool, the laundry and around the corner from the bus stop! We ended up loving this location. Our only wish was that the food court was closer. Have fun, we loved it here.

We stayed in bldg 15 and it was a good location. Be warned though one side of bldg. 15 faces the parking lot and is pretty close at one end of the bldg. The other side faces a courtyard. Bldg. 14 is also in a nice location. Closest to everything but some have complained there is too much foot traffic by it. We noticed the bldg 18, especially those facing the river were very convenient to the path that was to main bldg. bus stop etc.

Spent this past weekend at POR and had a conversation with the Front Desk about the buildings. She said that they try to reserve bldg 14 for their disabled guest and place other guest in other buildings because they have such a need for these special guest. So saying that, you might want to consider bldg 18 in AB. If your family is not a party of 5, I prefer the Magnolia Bend section it is quieter and just a bridge away from the main building. We like Oak Manor & Parterre Place buildings.
