Every 4 months or so Dad and I take a day trip to France through the Channel Tunnel to stock up on wine. It doesn't always work out cheaper but it is a nice day out and our latest trip was booked for this Saturday.
After the fire today we had decided that we would try and get in touch with Eurotunnel tomorrow to see whether we could still travel, but at 9:45 this evening Eurotunnel telephoned us and offered us a full refund or the chance to re-book for another time so we said we would re-book and somebody is going to call us back tomorrow to arrange a new date.
We often read comlaints about companies not doing enough for their customers so I thought it would be nice to post a positive story for a change. Well doen Eurotunnel and thanks to their employees who are no doubt giving up their own time to contact affected customers. :thumbsup2

Thats great!
I wonder when they are going to ring me to get off my Eurostar trip to DLRP on Sunday. Even if it is up and running by then, its going to be PACKED!

Good stuff, how refreshing:thumbsup2
Sounds like you're not too bothered when you go, David. That was probably a relief to them!

That was exactly what Dad said to the lady on the phone last night. It's only a day out for us so if we can make way for somebody going on holiday then we are happy to do so.

It seems Eurostar aren't as helpful as Eurotunnel then. :guilty: It seems things are really bad though as Dad had an e-mail this morning cancelling the booking altogether. From what I've read it looks like things aren't going to be back to normal for quite some time.
