Cruise Banner (logo) for signature lines

Thar be many a crew asking me if they can be adding the cruise banner to there signature , And I figured I wouldnt keep it all to me onesies so here be three different sizes you can be adding to your signature line , Beware , those crewmates that dont be adding it could find themselves walking the plank come Sept 2010 ...Savvy ??

Instructions to add Banner to signature line Thanks Tia

Right click the size logo that you want and select properties. Copy the link then go to User CP and Edit Signature. Using the little yellow square (looks like a picture of mountains) above the signature box, paste the link that you copies from the photo properties. Make sure you don't get 2 http entries. Instead of using the yellow box, you can just type then paste the link and end with - no spaces in between the brackets and the link.

Just passing though to say hello...

.. I gotta run now as my lunch break is at an end... I'll have a busy schedule as I posted earlier... so I'll try to catch up or lurk. Cheryl and Steph (? my memory is not so good sometimes).. or was it (?)... I saw your recent replies in the last 24 hours. May I toss a warm smile and wink your ways in acknowledgement!

http://www.gpsmagazine.com/assets/review-maestro4040/maestro_stock1.jpg

I just bought a Magellan Maestro 4040 GPS (refurb) for $99 + $7 shipping.
http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/searchtools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=3809079&cm_mmc=Email-_-WebletMain-_-WEBLET03ORDER-_-03order&SRCCODE=WEBLET03ORDER

Just 2 years ago it sold for $500! The one reviews' title said it was "mixed"... but READING that review it sounds really like a solid unit! But heck ... for $99 I can use it a few weeks then toss on ebay if I really don't like something about it! Here's the review: http://www.gpsmagazine.com/2007/04/review_magellan_maestro_4040.php?page=1 Contrary to the title ... and having read the CONCLUSION I'd say it's NOT a mixed bag unit. The only thing I might miss is a free initial year of traffic updates ... and the only things I really wanted out of this was a 4" screen, bluetooth, good sound quality, and a dirt cheap price.

http://i164.photobucket.com/albums/u38/Monco58/Simpsons.jpg

So ... time for me to wander off. Remember, if I don't post much ... I'm still lurking. We have so much soccer, school voluntering, and simple business demands pending and scheduled... it's a lot. And anyone visiting DL look for us sneaking about as we'll be there this sunday 9am - 4pm. And if anyone is gonna be in Honolulu just before 4-14-09 be sure to PM me in advance as we can do a DIS meet at my SILs' place or at a great local joint (Kim Chee 2?). After 4-14 we'll be at the Waikaloa on big island and we'd be pleased to hang too. We are currently reserved for the 10-10-09 Magic... and likely to take it. PLUS we'll take a long hard look at following everyone here onto the next sailing ,... where-ever in the world it goes! Although we prefer bargain repo voyages .... or really any sailing which our cluster of family members agrees on taking.

Have a great weekend folks!

Early Bird gets the worm...LOL Why Not:confused3 I know alot of people are interested in this , and outside of Disney Announcing it the evidence points to it almost a done deal ... We will do the last Baltic Cruise as well , so we will do the B2B I may have to work on the logo for this one but I kinda like the design now , It looks Very Piratey with Panama Canal scratched out and Baltic Sea hand written ...lol

Depending on the stops we might be in too. We would really like to do the Baltic but I checked the airfare and excursion costs last night :scared1: :scared1: :scared1: If we did the Repo it would only be half the airfare. According to the thread that is speculating on the Baltic, they only have dates for June and July. This makes me think that maybe there will some other itinerary in May and August. I would love it if they did the British Isles and France. Like Stacy we may need to win the lotto to swing this but I don't want to miss out sailing with this group again.

Well that's interesting. After this trip we're really thinking we need to work our cruises around school time... the oldest in highschool is a real PAIN for her to miss school. If they are doing this in June/July that might mean the repos (or atleast one of them?) might be in the summer where we can do that and not have her miss school again.

We have rooms rebooked onboard with dummy date and TA notified about any repos in 2010, whether we keep the dates once he changes them remains to be seen and depends on the itinerary as well as what dates the repos are. i'd be excited if the repos were in the summer months this time!

DH and I have been talking about a Baltic cruise for a few years but have been waiting until the kids were a little older. DD will be 15 (almost 16) and DS will be 13, which I think are old enough where they won't whine on long excursion days.

DD said she wanted to go on vacation instead of a sweet 16 party and her original request was Paris. Have to figure out how to get her interested in Northern Europe instead. :smooth:

Currently we are booked on the Oct 31 09 cruise but planned on switching it to 2010 if a great itinerary was released. All depends on ports and price at this point. We didn't do the Med cruise because beside Barcelona and France we had been to all the cities in Italy the cruise visited. I wouldn't have wanted to go back to the ship but instead stroll the streets of Rome and Florence in the evening when the crowds left.

I know I didn't participate in things as much as others did but I enjoyed meeting you all and hope I am welcomed into the group again if we end up on the same sailing. :flower3:

OK...

... I'm finished making supper for the kids... and I was going to stay off the thread a bit as I need to work out SOME of the travel arrangements for January and April. Plus I have other chores ... but I somehow found myself wandering back here first. ( sigh )

At any rate.... I think it would be interesting to see what the voyage options are in 2010... if they included Baltic, British Isles ... and the obvious transatlantic crossings then we'd certainly have a number of options, eh?

Off hand ... after a bit of discussion with Alicia it seems we'd be good for any of these cruises. The only thing is ... which one?

So ... shortly we'll be running out for a Market run. The local Albertsons' has Campbels Chicken Noodle soup on sale ... $0.50 a can. I'll try to get 100 cans as that might just cover our needs for 2 months.

Morning Everyone!!:surfweb:

After seeing this new thread for 2010 I am into a new Disney fix. I do have a dummy date for 2009 that I will change to new date in 2010. Can someone let me know what the exact dates are and does it include the repo back to PC.

Most likely I will be traveling alone. Maybe Kim will be going on this cruise too. I met her a couple of times and she seemed to be having a great time even though she was traveling alone. Everytime I saw her she was having a blast!

My sister Reenieny didn't seem interested but I am always excited about going to new places.

BTW. I enjoyed meeting as many fellow pirates as I could, whether it be at the pool, RBD or just around the ship. We are a happy bunch.

Todd - I like the new logo for 2010. Is Northern Europe ready for us pirates?

We're in!!! Loved our 1st cruise... everyone told us we won't be happy with just doing 7 days after our PC cruise... so I guess we'll have to do repos forever:goodvibes

Are you allowed to have multiple TOALs???

I'd like to do Alaska too.... guess I'll have to see what the pocketbook says:confused3 & what my boss says... He was not happy when I returned from this last cruise... although I told him when he hired me that I was going on this trip no matter what... Now he's upset that it was such a long trip. I'm trying to figure out what he thought 3 weeks meant when I first told him it was 3 weeks. Go figure....... But I've got time to figure out the details. LOL.

Firstly, I must say, "Thank you" to all on the PC cruise. We were not as "active" as others on the thread and were able to meet many on the ship who shared a story, a smile, a cocktail and much kindness!! A huge thanks for the landyards and name tags -- it sure made it easy to identify others. The linking with dining and the tastings (even though there were only four of us for beer) were lots of fun and a great way to meet others.

So, for anyone not familiar with this great group, be as active as you want on the thread, sign up for activities you are interested in, be thankful for the warmth you will receive and have a fantastic holiday with welcoming people!!

Now with 2010, if the ship is going to Europe, we will be there. The PC crossing was a move from the Transatlantic crossing as the dates for 2007 did not work any more. Now, we can have both. If it is going to happen, we shall spend time on land to visit, then hop on for a great ride home.

Thank you, Todd, for getting this thread going. It will be an interesting day on Oct 7th and then on booking day to see where we all go.

Again, thanks for a great 2008 cruise and here's to a great 2010 cruise.

Us too. I am considering a Brit Rail tour beforehand. I have done that before and really enjoyed it. DH loves trains and has never done this trip. But it depends on the ports, so who knows. I would love to go to Russia, my grandfather was born there and like the Panama Canal, I never imaged I would have the chance to visit.

We weren't that active either, but everyone was so nice and we loved being able to identify fellow pirates from the the name tags and lanyards. Maybe this time we will join in some more activities and get a chance to meet more of the pirates.

We were hoping for Alaska in 2010, but it sounds like that may not be until later (after the new ships come onboard?). August 2010 will be our 10th wedding anniversary and this would be a great place to celebrate. Maybe Cheryl can get us Palo chocolate souffles.:rotfl2:

Okay Paula - are you game for another repo?? Hey Chris!!! Can I go with you?? Hope it works out this time that I can cruise with you all!!

Early Bird gets the worm...LOL Why Not:confused3 I know alot of people are interested in this , and outside of Disney Announcing it the evidence points to it almost a done deal ... We will do the last Baltic Cruise as well , so we will do the B2B I may have to work on the logo for this one but I kinda like the design now , It looks Very Piratey with Panama Canal scratched out and Baltic Sea hand written ...lol

pirate: Love the logo Todd. Hope to be on the cruise with you and your family again in 2010!! It was great cruising with you last week.

UGH! Why oh why are they going to Europe every three years?? We'll be homeless...um...moving again in summer 2010. Bummer.

DH retires spring 2013, so we can go then. Maybe I should start a Europe 2013 thread!

I guess I'll hold out for a 7-day CC, Aruba, Cartagena cruise. :)

Thanks everyone for the kind words about the Logo , I will clean it up somewhat if indeed this cruise does come true (fingers and broken toe crossed lol )

I am honored that so many of you want to cruise with your Captain again , We have sought treasure from the Pacific to the Caribbean and to the Atlantic , now our sails take us to places unknown where the riches are plentiful, I say make way as The Pirates be heading to Europe and the Baltic Sea ...ARRRRRRRRRR

OOHH...Brit Rail Tour...sounds interesting. Where can I get more information? DS loves trains. I'd really like to do the last Baltic cruise then the Repo, but a rail tour may be a good substitute.

Don't know about a Baltic Repo? It would definitely depend on the price. I don't think DH would be willing to dole out the same funds he did for the PC Repo. :sad2:

Love the new logo. It was nice to meet you and your family. I hope I didn't disturb your breakfast at Lumiere. It is so out of character for me to speak to strangers, but I had to say I had met the famous (or imfamous) Captain Jack. My DD loved the pictures from Pirate Night, especially the parade through traitor dining.

I know you have to book it in the states. This was years ago, so I don't have any current information. It was a blast. Our tour went from London to Edinburgh, Scotland. Most was by train, but there were a few bus trips as well. I will have to find my old scrapbook to see all the places we visited. I did have an American travel agent book it for us. We spent a week on that tour and then another week in Germany. Would do either one again in a heartbeat (if I had the money).

Karen

Thanks Karen, I was having a blast the entire cruise! And I am planning on being on this next repo if my next job allows the time and money. In fact, I was just informed this morning that my 3 tablemates from the PC repo are planning on the 4 of us being in a Cat 3 for the Baltic! Talk about moving up in the world! We'll see how things pan out when things are announced Oct 7.

We'd love to do the last Baltic and then a repo but we are a bit concerned about dates (I'm a teacher!) The UK school holidays that year are 24th July - 4th Sept. I'm hoping something will fit for us
Would love to cruise with you guys again once we know more please feel free to PM me if you want any help with your UK arrangements

Shouldn't talking about the previous cruise be done on the thread specific to that cruise? Granted there will be some reference back to the previous one, but to have an entire thread create, for a cruise that does not exist , and then use that forum to talk about the cruise that just ended, seems foolish. Your discussion of the previous cruise should be here: http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1944486

Do your history mate! The first incarnation of that thread started BEFORE the Panama Canal cruises were on the DCL website. So we can't discuss the 2010 cruise before it's on the DCL website, but you'd like us to discuss another cruise on a thread that originally started prior to that cruise being a 'real' cruise?

Wonderful thing....that ignore button...think I'll put it into use now.

I have a question for you then.. If the cruise hasn't even been announced yet, which means it doesn't exist like you said, then why do you care what the "bleep" we talk about....because obviously we can't be talking about planning a cruise that doesn't exist......

Sounds like someone is mad because he didn't think of this first....pirate:

Jared will go anywhere DCL will take him....or anywhere that we'll take him. Jay would rather go to Alaska. MY problem is what to do if they decide to do BOTH cruises. Alaska does seem a lot more realistic for us.

I haven't posted on this thread because we probably will just do a Baltic (if we're even able to do that), and if so, we won't be able to do the TA repo too. But I'm excited for all of you who can do this cruise, and I'm glad you have a place to talk about it.

Even if we're not going to be on it, hope y'all don't mind me popping in once in a while to say Hi and see how your planning is going.

And on the topic of pirate costumes...all I can say is WOW! there were some absolutely phenomenal pieces of artistry there in the creation of those costumes. Even those of us in "generic" pirate costumes were caught up in all of the excitement on Pirate Night, and it added one more thing to an already great cruise.

So all that being said, how do you work the ignore list?

Stace, thankfully we have some time to try to save up for both. The only drawback of the Baltic would be the oneway airfare. But realistically with the fares now, both would be a big chunk for the 3 of us. But the chance to travel again with peeps does make it so much more inviting. :goodvibes

Hi Mike! It is very easy.
Click on the person's Dis ID
Menu comes up, click on add to buddy list
Copy name there and then delete it
Look on the left and click on buddy/ignore
Paste name to the ignore section and save.

Haven't decided between the last Baltic or the repo. Trevoy really wants to do the repo, mostly because I did the last one without him. Probably won't truly decide between the 2 until early 2010.

Can't speak for anyone else, but I would be happy to have you pop in and join in the fun.

And then maybe we can start a thread! LOL!

Wow when did they allow you to start a thread for a Cruise not showing on the DCL web-site please?....:confused3

In order to address this so that anyone who is questioning it can see the answer I will post this once.

They fully intend to book this cruise so it will be a meet thread soon. The announcement will be made on October 7 and booking opened a couple weeks later probably. The PC repo cruise threads both started over a month prior to the announcement, as did the med cruises and the 2005 PC repo cruises..so it is pretty much a tradition now. Besides, it is more managable to have everyone posting their speculation and excitement on one thread on the meets forum than many threads popping up on the main board. You can use the speculation about the new ships as an example to see how this can clutter up the main information forum.

ETA: Since there is now a limit of 250 pages to all threads there will be multiple incarnations of this thread before the cruise actually occurs. :)

Happy planning guys!

No one is made to read, post or participate in any thread on the DIS boards. If you do not wish to do so please do not post antagonistic comments. Continued postings of this sort by anyone will be deleted and infractions will be issued. Please take a moment to review the board guidelines with regards to this issue.

3. NO FIGHTING/SARCASM: While we'd like to think that a Disney fan site is always lighthearted, there are times when there are disagreements. Let's face it, there are certain topics that can transform any of us into a raging "Donald Duck." When you sense this is happening, we ask that you step away from the discussion before it escalates into a fight. Just like Mom always said about fighting, we don't care who started the argument and we don't want it on the DIS. (Okay, she didn't say the part about the DIS, but you know what we mean.) We were thinking of doing the back to back with the repo but I think we're going to stick with repo, alot depends on what ports DCL is going to have for the return. I'm looking at some other lines and they have some nice ports for the return, not sure DCL could really add all that many to a regular cruise and then add the repo.... did that make sense?

The idea of some sort of rail thing intrigues me and we've never done that, so I'm thinking of doing some sort of Europe travel and then catching the boat home.

And I am sooooo going to work on a new pirate costume, I don't like being generic!!!!

We're on the Dummy cruise, but are thinking of switching to one of the Baltic ones. We already have our dummy cruise reservation switched over to DU. If we want to have DU handle getting us a Baltic reservation, what do we need to do? I'm guessing email them and let them know, but how do we know about dates? I'm guessing the itineraries come out the same day we can start booking (Oct 7), right?

The itineraries will be announced on 10/7. Booking will open on either 10/14 or 10/21 is the word we have so far. So you have 7-14 days to decide what you want and then let your TA know in advance of when booking opens.

Gee...

... it has grown quiet suddenly. Well... I was just passing through to look about. We skipped DL today on account of being a bit tired from yesterdays' beach BBQ we hosted (Saturday). We had 5 families on hand for a total of 16 souls. Being that schools started we had most of the beach to ourselves - and the temps were tolerably cool with a bit of a breeze. We made hot dogs, korean BBQ beef, curry chicken, BBQ Beef ribs (I made them and they were only so-so), plus salmon burgers. Here are a few pix:

http://www.dotphoto.com/SAN1/16/CF/90/i16CF9002-2D02-43EE-8FD7-22BF6C155A36.jpghttp://www.dotphoto.com/SAN1/A4/DB/4F/iA4DB4FF6-80F6-4EEC-8215-E0AD8AFA37C2.jpg
http://www.dotphoto.com/SAN1/DF/E9/BE/iDFE9BE54-3F1F-4919-AE36-8AEAF5FC01E8.jpghttp://www.dotphoto.com/SAN1/5C/DC/4D/i5CDC4DDA-CD92-4446-A597-169AEEE5061A.jpg

So ... we did compromise having skipped DL but had dinner with about 15 friends and family tonite (Sunday). Over supper Alicia and a girlfriend of hers (Jennifer - pictured above in brown leather jacket was also at the beach with us) made tenative arrangements for them to join us on the Big Island in April... and possibly to take a girls shopping trip to Hong Kong ... without the spouses or kids. So tonite was spent investigating a few travel combinations of dates and hotel deals for Hong Kong. It looks pretty good for a 5 nite stay in Hong Kong at "5 star" property .... anyone interested in going with Alicia and girlfriend to HK for a "Girls only Shopping trip?" is welcome to PM me for the proposed travel details. Although Alicia is English speaking only... Jennifer is fluent with a couple dialecs of Chinese.

Aside from that ... we're starting to develope the conversation with our friends and family for sailing/booking Disney in a few weeks ... for a 2010 sailing of some sort!

OK... I'm only semi-coherent.... it's late and time fer me to turn in. I'm beat from the past 2 days... plus the soccer games of saturday morning. Whew! Our 7 year old girls did fantastic scoring 6-1... while our little 4-5 year olds did so-so scoring 2 to 6. Oh well... time to turn in!

Cheers, and we hope your weeek to come is a perfectly pleasant one!

To us too.

On Alaska Debbie...

... I agree with you (above) that Alaska is of interest to us. As would another PC repo. I thought it was a simply wonderful voyage - a good length of days and ports of excellent interest now that I'm savoring the memories. I still have things I'd do again/differently of do for the 1st time when DCL repeats a PC repo and those ports. And I must say I felt the VALUE was good compared to other DCL voyages.

Now I know folks are anticipating the Baltic voyages here... and I'd like to say we're extrememly enthusiastic - however our position has a few "moving parts" to it as well. IE, are we getting any of our family to go who just sailed DCL on the EBREPO? That would seal the deal for us. If not... then we're still game ... but is our expanded family group going to settle on another Disney voyage elsewhere in the world for this same time of year (as a proposed Baltic voyage)? Generally, we have taken only ONE Disney cruise per year (at most)... which is comfortable for us... but we'd consider 2 with a meaningful seperation of cruise dates.

Questions - questions - questions.... :confused3

Kevin would sooo love this too. But I just don't see this cruise happening.:guilty: It's going to take quite a while to recoup from this last Repo.

Awww gee.... Debbie....

... I still feel the seat under me shifting ever so slightly from the sensation of being at sea! And of course, it did cost a bit to do the trip too. SO I must agree in more ways than one that recovery from the EBREPO is a work in progress over here too! ;)

... and Debbie... with near a couple years to plan for this ... Baltic ... another PC Repo or Alaska cruise are plausible considerations IMO. I'm just beginning to wonder if the new ships eventual arrival will result in some lower fares somewhere for good DCL voyages. Frankly, we've always considered the Disney SHIP itself to be our primary vacation destination... less so the ports. However, the ports are always an intergal consideration too.

we should be going to le harve on the repo. le harve is the port for paris although paris is about 3 hour bus ride one way. i know its a long way but never been to paris it might be worth while. did anybody find anything about the ports for the repo? just to be clear i have no evidence that they are going here on the repo.but other cruiselines go here on their repo to northern europe.

Now this is interesting. I don't know that a 3 hour one way (6 hours R/T?!) bus ride is a reasonable consideration with the limited times we have in port... especially considering how much there is for one to see in Paris. However, I wonder ... would a train present a faster means of getting into and out of Paris? Is this an option?

Always room for more. Don't let the fact that many of us have cruised together turn you off of this cruise or thread. There will be plenty of time to make new friends and new memories.

Yeah....

.... I'd say one thing I've validated is the gang we've had on the EBREPO was amazingly NICE and neighborly. It still impresses me with how pleasant it was to have met so many many on the voyage. I just wish I did not have that scratchy cough otherwise I would have litterially sat down with so many to just chat, laugh and reminesce. DId I misspell that... cuz my spell checking feature does not work on my machine.

At any rate... please step forward to join the conversation with confidence. The vast majority of folks here are simply wonderful neighbors to share a word or thought with. And in the months to come - as a lurker or conversant contributor you cannot lose with the volume of pixie dust floating 'round here!

I want to be on this cruise. Not sure if it will happen or not. I love sea days, so it would be great. Now I gotta convince some others they want to be on this cruise.:thumbsup2

I too share your apprehension at coordinating interest among travel friends and family. Ultimately, it seems my dear spouse has already given me the nod that we'll unlink our travel palsn from our past travel group of family members. However, that comes with the consideration that they don't decide as a group to do an alternate DCL sailing in 2010 that is too close to a proposed Baltic travel date. KWIM? ;)

Disney has not yet officially announced any special itineraries for 2010. However, I believe the Magic will cruise to Northern Europe and the Baltic in June and July 2010, on a 12-night itinerary. The port schedule for Copenhagen, Denmark shows the Magic will be in port on June 15, June 27, July 9 and July 21. It also shows the ship will be arriving from Oslo, Norway and departing for Warnemunde (port closest to Berlin).

Heck, I'm still not functioning on all cylinders from the TOAL!:rotfl2: Hope you enjoyed Toby, he does put on quite the show and is on my list to do again (and again and again!).

DH is STILL working on the pic's - I swear he must of taken about 10K between DLR and the cruise.

We are planning to do these cruises too. I would want the whole family to do the last Baltic (if the last one before the repo is a Baltic---the dates confuse me) and then just me and maybe my mom will do the transatlantic back. I do not know if we will do the ones coming back in August or the ones going there in May, it all depends on the timing and the pricing....Times 6, especially for the air, is alot....ouchies :scared1:

I am so excited to see alot of others thinking about it too. I can't wait until October 7!

things are bad at work they told us no more overtime until the new year. i work a lot of ot so i can pay for these cruises. i usually double my pay with the ot. hopefully next year will pick up. im defintely going to northern europe just might not make the repo hard to tell now. i will book the northern europe with points, than hopefully the repo will not be that much like in 2007. one good thing my house will be paid off in early 2010.

Well I would love to do the WB and the last European one also, so that could be umm....26 days on board ?? Wow, not sure if DH is up for that, or if he could handle the rough waters back to the USA. He gets sea sick. DD12 is itching to go, especially if Russia is a port!

Then again for 2011 we would love love love to do Alaska and then there is the new ship, which we want to be on.

So many options..and not so much money...or time :confused3 .

We sailed together for the transatlantic. Just wanted to comment on how beautiful the girls are....but you already knew that right? I missed seeing them on the ship this time.

thank you Monica. We think they are beautiful, too... We missed being on the ship, but life kinda messed us up for that trip. We are so hoping to be on the next TA.

Heya back atcha'. It has been forever. The baby is now 18 mos old. She is Dom's little sister. We got her when she was just 3 mos old and took her on the TA when she was just barely 6 mos. She had a blast.

OK... I know it's not directly related to the Baltic planning -- however it IS cruise related... ;)

http://www.gracemarkus.com/NCL_star.jpg

OK...

... We're thinking of cancelling that NCL cruise for January 3rd of 2009. My sister is gonna cancel because my auntie (her cabin mate) needs surgery then... and my brother is cancelling because of an inability to secure vacation time then + other complications. Plus the 5th family that was ready to book also side stepped it. DRAT! So my Dad and I remain booked and we are the most flexible too.

So... I just noticed that SAME NCL voyage from LA to Mexico is $500 cheaper if we were to take it October 25th to Nov 1st. I know... that's in about 33 days from now ... but then again ... since it's underselling with little time to sel out ... that is precisely what makes it cheap. The NCL Star is quoted as $299 per person on 1st 2 inside. 3rd and 4th are $199. All told ... lowest price on 2 in an inside cabin is $997... and 4 would be $1650. Add a window for $200.

http://img.thesun.co.uk/multimedia/archive/00397/SNN0143A_682_397744a.jpg

Alternatively, we could switch from the 91,000 ton STAR (2001 launched) to the Princess Sapphire at 113,000 tons (2004).. for $1,105 for 2 inside or $1667 for 4 inside. No quad windows are available to book. NCL has windows and great locations on the ship... while the Sapphire has very few cabins with far forward or aft only available. We'd select aft cabins and deal with the engine noises over the heaving forward region of the ship. Other differences betwwen these two ships inlcude the time in port. The Sapphire totals 27 hours and good early docking times. The NCL Star totals 30 hours but some later docking times. A "push" if ya ask me given our probable plans ashore.

We did not do the zip line or horse back riding inpart because we knew we were scheduled to return in January. And the party we were with was not committed to do those things. I'm hoping we get back there in October now so we can do the zip line and horse back ride. My Dad won't zip line but maybe my step mother will ... and both will do horse back riding (I hope).

http://ambergrisvacation.com/images/zip_line_at_jaguar_paw.jpg

At any rate... I know many of us just left these ports... however .... some of us might be interested in doing it again (more likely next year or further out). Just wait for last minute disounts like they are now, eh? $299 pp + $199 sound awful cheap if ya ask me.

Alicia is still chafing at wiping her calandar for that week though. SO we may NOT end up going after all. IF not then we just might cancel cruising entirely til... gee... I don't know when if not the DCL voyages we're waiting to consider this Oct 7th.

I too got that MouseSavers e-mail and it really got me excited about the upcoming announcement. Our family was just on the Mexican Riviera cruise from May 25-June 1 and we are all going through Disney withdrawal! The greatest thing for me is that by summer of 2010 my boys will be ages 6 and 4 so we can have even more fun than we did this summer (when they were 4 and 2). Yay no diapers! :thumbsup2

Crash...if it makes a difference, I've found that on other cruise lines besides Disney, I prefer their smaller ships. They seem to have a more personal feel to them with their interaction between officers & crew and the passengers...and for some reason, seemed to me that the food was always better.

I floated the idea of this morning of Robert and his Mum going to the UK first to visit with Robert's sister, then all 4 of us do the last Baltic cruise, Robert and his Mum return home and my Mum and I continue for the repo. Gee... do we get any credit as REPEAT (CRUISING) PIRATES if we rebook to hit MEXICO again next month? It's obviously not Disney - rather it's Princess - and now I'll possibly get to do a couple things I missed doing when we were last there.

So we've got a little time between soccer games this morning... and we've just finalized the arrangements to "cover" our obligations at home. Work and soccer are now covered properly - so we can proceed to book the Princess cruise next month. Our kids agreed to forego Halloween at home for the cruise - and this was a consideration as Juliannas' best friend is celebrating her birthday on October 31st. Now I have to get my TA to switch things AFTER I break it to my Dad and confirm it'll work out for him to sail sooner while saving him $500 over a January sailing next month instead of January. It should go quickly now... this will be our 1st sailing on Princess.

have fun its a really great price.

Thank You for the encouragement......

... at $386 on the first 2, taxes of $53.90 plus fuel of $63 = $502.90 per person. Then on the 3rd and 4th it's only 199 + 53.90 + 28 = $280.90. Shoot... that brings it to $1,567.60 with my TA ... which is cheaper than the Princess home page price of $1,793.60. Curious how that differs... as I guess my TA has booked group space and is kicking back something to make thiar price sweeter. I would have booked it right now except that when I called I found my TA has gone home already. SO I'll book this tomorrow it seems.

OK... we're off for a birthday party. The morning soccer game was great with a 6-3 win... and a spectacular goalie stop by Julianna... plus a few more moderately impressive stops by her. Kaleas' soccer game was lopside against us as they had a large player who scored and defended heavily against us. The opposing coach was not interested in balanced play - oh well. Earlier when Julianna player - her team scored all 6 goals in the 2nd Qtr... so we pulled our best players out - and the opposing team was sort of allowed to score their 3 goals in the closing minutes. We encouraged Julianna to quietly allow 2 of the goals to pass in (she handled it fairly graciously) ... one got in however that was fully contested.

SO there... our girls are split between 2 regions - in the TO region blaanced play is NOT really encouraged it seems at the U6 level of play. I know this is so because I asked a couple of board members who were at the field today. However, in the Westlake league balanced play is encouraged. We understand how it is to be on both sides of the equation - and what we want
is a good experience for our girls ... on BOTH sides of the game.

OK... time to go...

Good Cheer for all!

I'm thinking maybe the last Baltic. I'd rather do the Baltic than the Med. But like Lorri said, will have to see the real announcement in Oct to truly make up my mind.

However with so many families not being able to do the repo in Sept, DCL will probably have to reduce the fares like they did in 2007. They reduced the fares before the 90 day final payment last time. So I could keep it booked just in case and then if the fares drop I'll see if I can find someone to go with me. Maybe GrandmaChris??

well the rumors of the baltic and med is not good news for me. i was wanting to do the 12 night baltic and than the repo after that, now this rumor changes everything. i wanted a new repo its looks like the repo will be the same repo as in 2007. what will also be nice is doing the baltic than the 7 night to barcelona but that will up the air prices a lot because you will have two one way prices. one good thing it looks like there will be a lot of good cruises in 2010 maybe it will keep the prices down a little bit.

The autumnal equinox was this morning at 11:44 AM + 16 seconds - so for folks on the east coast ... FALL has arrrived about 30 minutes ago!

http://www.schoolsobservatory.org.uk/pic/news/sky/0306/equinox.jpg

As for the new cruises and rumored schedule (leak) ... We are definately unable to take huge time once school starts - for us that's the mid week before labor day... so September sailings are OUT. Next year we begin getting letter grades in 3rd grade so we'll want to keep Julianna in school untl we determine how shes' adjusting to the new environment.

Aside from that - I wonder whether any of these sailings will work out for us. I would really like a MED cruise versus any of the other ones - so it seems these are going to be our 1st area of interest - that is assuming there are no convenient or preferable alternatives.

We would probably not have interest in any Wonder sailings as 5 and 4 days is simply not enough given the distance we have to travel from Los Angeles.

Oh well...

Hi Gang,
If the repo is mid Sept - I doubt it would work for us. We were thinking about the entire family going to England & France and then Paul & I (or maybe just me again) returning home on the repo. However, the older kids start school in mid/late Aug and Matt starts just after labor day. Unless I won the lotto I don't have enough money to hang around in Europe until mid Sept. waiting for the repo!!!!
Just have to wait & see when the dates, etc. are announced!

Maybe I'll bump the "dummy" cruise to 2011 & take a chance w/the new ship.

We really do want to sail w/our pirate crew again!!

You know,...

Disney marketing is smart... they're doing 4 REPOs from the UK (probably) and offerring foks in Europe and especially the UK a chance to sail on a 1st rate ship with their STRONG currency. Med to UK = 1... UK to Baltic = 2, Baltic to UK = 3, and UK to USA = 4. Disney will charge stiff rates and get them because over there they will look upon the costs as a bit of a bargain! While DCL rakes in good revenue ... is what I figure.

Now - as for us regular folks from the good ol' US of A... well... we got our options and these dates. They're valid considerations and suitably exotic. I wonder what the Med sailings will look like - and I wonder if we'll get the others in my family GROUP to agree on anything this time? If we go it will probably be some time in AUGUST.... where-ever the ship will be. Otherwise... we just might do some other option with DCL? Maybe a vanilla Christmas sailing or ??? OR... maybe a land and sea split with 5 nites on the Wonder?

Oh no... I was hoping that with the June/July dates that meant the repos wouldn't be during school but I guess that was probably just too good to be true. We definitely can't go on repos, even without the kids, during school time. *sigh*.........
Why do they always do that? Do you think they are HOPING for less children during that time? Don't you think maybe they make more money when families fill up those rooms instead of like 2 people to a room (ie: without kids)? I guess not.. for some reason they like to do repos right when kids are in school.

it would of been nice if they had the repos the same time as they did in 07 and 08. but with dcl they might figure they will take a lose maybe on the repos but they will have more europe cruises which they get more money for by the day.also more people go on excurions which they get extra money.
i counted four 12 night cruises four 11 night four 10 night, one 8 night, and 1 7 night cruise. it also would of been nice if dcl divided up the good cruises lets say 2009 we go to the baltic , and than 2010 we go back to the med. but no there is no good cruises in 2009.

Hi LaTanya!

I asked this wuestion over on the main boards. Here is Andrew's reply with his guess:

Thanks Mike

I don't know what to do. At first I was thinking of doing just the Med. Now I'm looking at the short repo, then the Med.:confused3

it would of been nice if they had the repos the same time as they did in 07 and 08. but with dcl they might figure they will take a lose maybe on the repos but they will have more europe cruises which they get more money for by the day.also more people go on excurions which they get extra money.
i counted four 12 night cruises four 11 night four 10 night, one 8 night, and 1 7 night cruise. it also would of been nice if dcl divided up the good cruises lets say 2009 we go to the baltic , and than 2010 we go back to the med. but no there is no good cruises in 2009.

One thought is this is practice (logistics wise) for what the Magic will do come 2011.... two months here, two months there, etc.

i was thinking about doing the baltic and than the short repo until i looked at the air prices will be. it will be almost double. example roundtrip from phl to heathrow was 1169. one way from phl to heathrow 989. than i would need from barcelona to philadelphia, which i didnt look up but is probaly close to1,000. so each person will be around 2,000 dollars instead of 1169. these are dummy dates for 2009 that i looked up. but if you got it go for it.

thanks it worked out great. put in some dummy dates and came up with a price of 1183. both ways nonstop. that was from philly to heathrow. than from barcelona to philly. now my plans change again. i wanted to do the baltic than the repo back to port canaveral than the new rumors came out.
a 12 night cruise by itself is a little short. but adding 7 or 8 nights to it will be a good cruise.

Just under two weeks before they announce the real dates. I hope they change the WB repo dates so that we can go while DD is on summer vacation.

I agree Andy. I really want to do a repo again, but April and September won't work.

Maybe they leaked the info just to get our reaction on different months??

I'd rather roll the money into a little pile to buy another income property (a small one - or add to buy a larger one). Aside from that - (ahem)... I would almost rather do another slightly different carribean cruise with Disney ... because the exchange rates don't really make this any kind of bargain or smart deal... unfortunately.

However, you watch. My 2 BILs and my FIL just might say ... OK, let's do it. THen I'll be mumbling < note the grumpy cheapskate facial expressions > that we'd be happy to go too!

At any rate, I do say to any who embrace these opportunities - that they should make for memorable and near irresistable voyages! I tip my hat with cheerful respect to all ready now to go!

Having said al that... let me add:

.... here's SOMETHING FER NUTTIN'....

http://microsite.smithsonianmag.com/museumday/admission.html

FREE Admission to any one of a 100+ museums nationwide good only TOMORROW - Saturday. If ya manage to make use of this please post a little something as I'd be curious how much we all end up saving collectively. I'd be impressed if somehow this all amounted to over $100 or $200. I'm going to save $24 by visiting the Regan Library before our 1st AYSO soccer game ... then maybe afterwards I'm considering another visit to another near by museum I've never visited. Gotta double check the closing times though ... ok... it seems I can only (maybe) visit the MONA in LA... that's the Museum of NEON Art as it closes at 7PM... however it is not all that close. They close at 7PM and we might drive down - visit a bit then catch dinner in town? Well - after 2 soccer games I think we might pass and only see the Regan Library in the AM.

So I'll start by declaring we're saving $24 with this deal... http://microsite.smithsonianmag.com/museumday/admission.html

Otherwise ... may I wish you all a...

Pete and I were hoping for an August repo. Mid September won't work. Hopefully, the rumors are mostly true, but the repo is earlier. Jack
