For those of you who have done the segway tour, if "someone" lacks grace, balance, and coordination, do you think "this person" would be capable of handling a segway?
I mean, this person CAN hula hoop, jump on a pogo stick, and ride a bike, but "someone's" husband is still embarrassed by her abysmal performance on an ATV tour of St. Kitts when she managed to run herself amok into the sugar cane fields and had to abandon her ATV and ride on the back of her husband's ATV instead.
Signed, Anonymous
Totally! I'm not all that coordinated, I have some movement issues. The only time there was a problem for me was when they took the segeways off slow so we could go as fast as we wanted. My wrists could not control the speed, so he just put the speed down for me and all was well again. I never lagged behind and no one had to wait for me, they just sped up and then looked around so by then I was up with them again.

Hey Bronwen, just wondering -is this Precious or another one? I forgot to ask you how long you have each dog. I may have asked you but I forgot. Is Precious gone on by now?
This is Precious, she was the one on the TA and the Repo PC cruise. We usually have them for 18 months, but she was being considered for breeding and they didn't call her back as quickly so right now she is 2 years old. She goes back to school on Oct 30th. Boooo hooooo!

Count us in for this cruise:thumbsup2 I still need to talk to my son's school about him missing 3 weeks of 2nd grade, but I think they will work with us for such an incredible experience. We'll be in cabin 6092.

So, how many people are doing a one week Euro vacation in front of this cruise?
Hey Capt. Thanks for the Cuban on the 5 night:thumbsup2 It was the best cigar I ever had:worship:

I like the teams idea. I started with the deck idea, but teams are good or what about each person get assigned 5 cabins. That way the individual person can think of something fun or something they want to do rather then running it by a team of people. Just an idea!!!

I can't remember who commented recently from Florida, not knowing what candy they could bring from their state. On a previous trip to WDW, we did a candy exchange and one of the FL friends had the cutest crocodile candies, that us non Floridians thought were really fun!
Dang it, now you spoiled my surprise!

for me it depends on just how many people are involved with the FE exchange.
I can't imagine bringing things for 100 staterooms, but if it was only 25, then Indivdual would be fine.
I have a feeling though with this many of us already, that Teams are going to be the way to go.
I think we had 160 on the EB PC cruise! Please god, we don't have that many this time!

DD will also be missing about 3 weeks of 2nd grade. However school starts in mid-August so all the "getting started" routine will be done. I think we are going to miss conference week though - oops! Our older two will be Soph & Jr's in HS though and there is no way they can miss school. They know that Gma and Gpa will be staying here with them. They're bummed about missing the trip but also understand that they just can't miss classes.
We have pulled the kids out of school in the past (a tagalong trip w/ DH's business trip to Italy, May 2007 TA, family obligations) and their elementary teachers agreed with our decisions each time. HS is different though. It just moves too quickly and too important to miss.

Actually, I looked it up ones in one of my weird facinations. Kinder is a German brand. The name Kinder is also used in the UK, Netherlands, Belgium etc. but it actually is a Ferrero product! Ferrero decided to use the name Kinder for the German market and it began to travel. So in the end, Kindereggs are an Italian product. Who would've known, italians and chocolate of all things!? :lmao:
Doing a chocolate swap? Well, take your pick folks! We've got something called Sinterklaas in the Netherlands, which we celebrate on december 5th (start off small about 3 weeks prior and have the big finishing on the 5th). One could compair it to Santa Claus. Actually; Santa Claus IS Sinterklaas. Anyhow, just like with christmas, Sinterklaas comes with his whole own set of candy, sweets, chocolate, biscuits, well...... anything one can eat! :yay: :woohoo: So, ofcourse I'll be bringing along Sinterklaas candy!
Oooh, do you know what is my FAVORITE treat by Kinder (actually Ferrero)?!
PENGUI! OMG, we used to be able to get these too, but now we can't. I could eat a whole pack before I could blink! :rotfl:

FYI, the new transporters (i2) are not controlled by wrists/hands, but just by balance/leaning..... I think they're easier, and definitely more intuitive! You should try them out, and you can check out a Segway "full speed" (13mph! :rotfl: )

Did you debut that pink dress on the DD? LOL I kept looking for pink at the late dinner seating on formal night and semi formal night. The rice krispies sound like a good idea in the buckeyes as well.

Basically if we did teams then you would share either the work load and or the cost of the item.
We can do individual gifts but then we can also do team gifts for those who want to do it together.
For instance, if a couple of people wanted to do something personalized for each person or cabin....then they can share the cost. One thing we had gotten on the EB TA was a personalized with pen with the sailing dates and stuff. It was adorable. It could be agreed upon and the cost shared.
Let me know if you want me to head this or if someone else wants it. I am happy to do but I did not go through each thread very carefully to see if anyone else wanted it.

On the WB 2008 repo we had one team per day and then others did individual FE treats. My team, a group of 11, designed a mouse-pad, one per family and gave those out.

I found it so much fun to check the FE every time I opened the door, so I'm more inclined to do individual ones.

I am definitely in on the FE fun! I'm already looking around for a creative thing to make for you guys!
I also loved opening the door or coming back to surprises!!! We had about 56 families participating. At times, we would have something new show up every 15 minutes! :goodvibes
Personally, I would prefer not to have a designated day, either. IMO, there is no need to give anyone stress about a delivery requirement. I just dropped gifts off when I had 30 minutes here or there. Within 3 days, they were all distributed. Not only that, being I just recently had the experience of being sick with bronchitis while on board, that dragged me down, and I would have felt bad if I missed "my day" for delivering.

I agree. With 14 days I think everyone can figure out there own day. We assigned days on our last cruise. I was the one who organized it and I almost forgot on my day! :scared1: Plus there will be some many different things going on, some days busier then others so everyone can just do their own thing. IMO
I came make the roster on the website for the gift exchange. I am also thinking that I will put a little Mickey icon or something on those names on the roll call who are participating.

I am doing the list thing to! The last cruise came up so quickly even though we planned more than a year out, but we had a big move and a bunch of other things in there. I don't want that to happen again. I want to be prepared.
I wrote DCL after our Double Dip to tell them what fun we had and to recognize a few crew members. I also told them of our disappointment with Ocean Quest for the 11-13 year olds and they wrote and said they are trying to make improvements so hopefully by 2010 they will have "fixed the glitch." Dodgeball and Karaoke all day was a little much!

Oh sweet heavens!! I was gone for less than a full week to Seattle and you guys have filled like a million pages!!! There is NO WAY I can go back and catch up on all that......so suffice it to say that Jason and I are home from Seattle now...we had a very nice trip and it was productive from a work standpoint as well. We decided to book our airfare and hotel through DCL because we actually got a way better deal than any dummy dates I was booking online to try to get a sense of the rates....and we were able to get one of the cheaper hotels, too, because we're flying there on Sept. 7th since we're on the last Med.
Otherwise....if I've missed anything important in the last week that I shoudl be responding to...someone let me know!!

A candy tasting sounds like a lot of fun! I was racking my brain trying to think of some kind of candy that is original to NY and can't come up with a single thing...I'll have to do some research and see if I can come up with something more original than honey candy - we can get that direct from the bee farm.
I like the idea of both individual and team FE gifts and agree with not having a scheduled day - on the EBPC Repo we did ours over the course of several days - basically did one or two floors a day depending on how many cabins were participating on each. I've already got ideas as to what ours will be.

I think that a candy tasting, or a candy exchange that does not require brining one for every person involved in the exchange is a great plan!
Yes, great idea about a candy tasting!
I actually would like to be on a team for the FE gifts, but it might be a team of one, because it seems like most everyone prefers individual gifts!! :lmao: Oh well, I can go either way!!

what is "team FE gifts" exactly? I shudder to ask......as Kimberly will attest to the fact that I recoil at strict Fish Extender rules and schedules and lists....AAAAHHHHHH!!! :lmao: :lmao: (And thanks for the welcome home, by the way, Kimberly!:thumbsup2 )

Hmm... Since Hershey candy is already claimed, I could bring Just Born candy. Or something different that is Hershey as they have lots of things. I spend enough time at Hersheypark as I have a season pass. There are lots of small candy shops all over PA. Or even Mars has manufacturing in PA.
Although I am not sure if I will participate due to weight and I do not need know if I need the potential weight on my body.;)
Who all is from PA? Where in PA? Would you be interested in some sort of meet? If so where and when would you like to meet?

I'm right there with you - please no schedules, I deal with that enough when working!
Team FE gifts - group of 2 or more individuals get together and share the cost/transport of the FE gift (examples that I've seen on here and/or have received are - mouse pads, small bottles of rum specially labeled, personalized pens)

Arizona has good prickly pear candy - you can get them at the Old Fashioned General Store on Pinnacle Peak and Pima. I don't know of anything else in Phoenix.

Are Goo Goo Clusters from TN? I have no idea!
http://www.googoo.com/history.asp
In 1912, in a copper kettle at the Standard Candy Company at Clark & First Avenue in Nashville, TN, the world’s first ever combination candy bar was invented. A round mound of caramel, marshmallow, fresh roasted peanuts and pure milk chocolate; it’s renegade circular shape was more difficult to wrap than the conventional rectangular or square shapes of the day. For a time it was impossible to ask for a Goo Goo by name since no one could decide what to call the delicious thick clusters of candy.

And I'm using mine right this minute! :thumbsup2 Did you hear about mine 'going missing' from my FE? Mr. Woody gave me his (after taking a photo of it), and when John heard about it he managed to find an extra to replace Woody's. :grouphug: I think the team gifts are a grand idea, especially for laynards, silicon bracelets and other items that we may want everyone to have. My team did the dry erase boards with our logo...one per cabin.

Funny, that is what DH said too although he still denies that we are traveling with you on this cruise. ( I always get my way when it comes to vacation so I do not know why he doesn't just admit we wre going!!!)
Shirley
LOL, my brother in law was just denying the same thing at dinner tonight. Sister (TiggersPal), just smiled and nodded. His first DCL cruise (any cruise) will be next September to Tortola...we're pretty sure he'll 'get it' after that! :lmao: Any vacation where he will be 'allowed' to sit for hours with a book and not have us nagging at him will be great. Any vacation where the girls can stay in the lounge listing to the music past 9PM, without forcing him to stay awake/with us will be great.

I think I got busted by him when I was delivering a little gift I had done for some of the kids. I'd just put one on their door and was walking down the hall when they came around from the aft elevators, so I waved and ducked into the midship elevators, hoping they didn't see the bags in my other hand.
Its fun to make the deliveries and be :rolleyes1 :ssst: :tiptoe:

I would love to be a part of a candy exchange but how hard is it to pack it your luggage? Will the dogs at the airport go crazy when they sniff candy?
I was thinking "snack" size bars and just bringing a couple of packs of them - here at least there are about a dozen bars in a bag. Then perhaps we could do a lucky dip? That would keep the weight down.
The sniffer dogs here are looking for fresh fruit and drugs so they don't bother with other types of food. I'm guessing its the same elsewhere.

I love the candy exchange, but I don't know what on earth I would bring from Florida.
Maybe for those that don't have anything unique to their areas then they could just bring their own personal favourite flavour bars - for those of us from other countries, then they will still be something different to try.

I would love to be a part of a candy exchange but how hard is it to pack it your luggage? Will the dogs at the airport go crazy when they sniff candy?
As far as Europe goes; they couldn't care less if you bring food along. To be honest, it's a form of sport for some to bring along just about their whole cupboard. Just be on the look out for some dutch people on holiday. Mostly those travelling with a caravan. They'll drag along potato's, sauces, meat, chocolate sprinkles to put on sandwiches (hmm..... another idea?) candy, cookies, vegetables, soup, all kinds of instant stuff, well..... everything if you let them. :lmao: :rotfl2: So, as you can see, within Europe they don't give one care at all. If they did, they would have to check everybody and waitlines would go bananas.
Another thing that might come in handy for some; within the EU we have open boarders. This means there is free travel of people and goods. So for those doing a couple of days in another EU country besides Spain, there is no need to worry about different legislation per country for every day stuff. When flying you still pass customs after check in. All other forms of transportation; you will only have a custom check if you stand out VERY big time or if you are one of the very few that get picked at random.
Oooh, do you know what is my FAVORITE treat by Kinder (actually Ferrero)?!
PENGUI! OMG, we used to be able to get these too, but now we can't. I could eat a whole pack before I could blink! :rotfl:
http://www.ferrero.it/hidimg/ferrero_kinder_pingui_cioccolato.jpg
Hmm, never seen those before! Did a Google on it, and found out that it is being sold in Poland. Also found UK-website selling German products were one can order it. Maybe one of the DISsers from the UK can help you out? https://www.germandeli.co.uk/sess/utn;jsessionid=154902f26a28a31/shopdata/0011_Fresh+Specialities/0230_Sweets/product_overview.shopscript

Yeah it is pretty much the same. All they really care about is fruit & veg and I believe dairy products (and obviously drugs) but chocolate isn't counted as dairy! YEAH
I was thinking the same about the snack bars. You can also sometimes cut up the snack size ones into 2 to make extra

Good Saturday Morning !!:surfweb:
I hope you all have a great weekend. :woohoo:
I was thinking about the candy exchange or tasting and I think it is a great idea!!! Anything that has chocolate involved sounds good to me. I have been trying to think what kind of chocolate is associated with VA can't can't come up with anything. We are known for our peanuts. I know a lot of people have allergies to peanuts so I don't think that would be a good idea. I am originally from NY and we have Niagara candy, Gertrude Hawk(I think GH is originally from PA). I am still thinking of bringing the chocolate covered coconut squares that I found in Florida(seeing that I am down there so often I consider myself an honorary resident!!!!) Sorry to be rambling.

Yes, it's sad when your DH takes you and your sis to dinner and we "force" him to stay awake during the live music portion of the dinner and even the guy playing guitar makes a comment to him "sleeping" at the table!!!!:rotfl2: :rotfl: He's such a good sport though, as we were leaving he's saying, but's it NOT 9:30 p.m. I said we could stay till then!
The poor guy... he braces himself every time we TRY and talk about either of the cruises, but I know him, I've planned 10 years worth of trips and he will LOVE this -
although I do remember after a meet with Woody that he was "ready"... maybe we need a visit from the MR & MRS to get him all excited....:rolleyes1 :rolleyes1
Well, I hope I haven't missed too much - 30 pages and I know I won't be able to catch up... I'm feeling scared that I'm going to miss too much on this thread we are 2 years OUT and I can't keep up - what will happen when it gets closer????
I guess the link will have the highlights? Of group FE gifts, etc? I'm hoping, or I guess I can always count on IBOUNCETOO to fill me in...

OK...since my ring is a Mickey ring, Mickey is facing away from me, so when I look at the upside down Mickey, it looks like Cinderella's Carriage! :thumbsup2 Since Cinderella is my favorite princess, it's perfect!
That is sooo cute. I never heard of such a thing!!! I love that story and would love to hear more if you are willing to share!
I'm going to PM you the link to my wedding website on The Knot. I don't have too much on there, but I do have our story written out. I'll try to add the reception site later since we put down a deposit on it today! It is beautiful!!!!
Hmm... Since Hershey candy is already claimed, I could bring Just Born candy. Or something different that is Hershey as they have lots of things. I spend enough time at Hersheypark as I have a season pass. There are lots of small candy shops all over PA. Or even Mars has manufacturing in PA.

My nephew lived in Quakertown and recently moved to Chalfont. We'll be visiting him on 10/31. I'm already in my costume as a Disney Nut. :rotfl2:

We were talking about taking my Grandpa to Shady Maple for his birthday today. But he did not want to go out in the rain. I live in Berks County. I am willing to drive, then again I spend my days driving. My office I am based out of is in Allentown. Our main office is in Manor, PA near Plymouth Meeting so I am there every other month. I am in Valley Forge pretty often.
Hard pretzels,( Sturgis, Snyders, Unique) locally made potato chips,(Diefenbach, Utz), Wise Snacks, shoe fly pie, Tastykake, Chicken pot pie, Faschnachts, Bolonga, Yuengling, Heinz ketchup, rock candy, Just Born(Peeps, Mike and Ikes), water ice, pierogies, hard toy sugar candy are also some other local PA things.
No wonder I am overweight.;) :rolleyes1

Who all is from PA? Where in PA? Would you be interested in some sort of meet? If so where and when would you like to meet?
We live in Philly. I'd be interested in a meet. What area do you live in? I don't mind driving if it's not too far.

We live in Upper Chichester about 5 minutes from the DE state line. We would be interested in a meet.

Also, on the last cruise Eric Jason and Hadley ordered lanyards and several members pitched in... I saw someone mentioned them for this cruise. I would love to help out with donations if we are doing that again. The lanyards we got for the last cruise were very neat and they were my favorite of the things I got on that trip!! The lanyards were soft and personalized with our cruise logo name and the sailing date and in the plastic sleeve, was our Dis name, real name and our logo picture ... I loved them (Thank you Eric!)

Shirley, I agree! Erik, Hadley, and Jason made a great choice, and they were awesome! They put a lot of time and effort into that project for us!
Here's a pic I took for my scrapbook while we were waiting in the port terminal. For the most part, it shows off the lanyard pretty well.

I did know what company they used, but I'm afraid I've forgotten. Therefore, I'll have to defer the question to Erik and Hadley. They truly were nice, and I appreciated that they choose the safety breakaway in the back. IMO, that just isn't an option, rather a requirement. Also, as Shirley mentioned, the lanyard fabric was very soft and a comfortable width.

You're right! They are great identifiers for a DIS friend! We had 473 DISers along with their family and friends on my roll call database, and we had 300 (with maybe 2 to spare) people who chose to receive them.
The red logo you see there is the name tag in the plastic sleeve. Right under my name is my DISboard name (you can just barely see the "B"). In appreciation for their financial contribution, on the backside, Erik listed the DISers who were on the "Lanyard Team". I understand this is what they did for the EB TA last summer as well.

We loved ours as well Kudos to Erik, Jason, and Hadley for all the hard work on them! I had many people the first day or so onboard ask where they could buy them. I loved that they were not a wide band like the Castaway Club ones we saw if that makes any sense.

Hey everyone! Thanks for sayign nice things about the lanyards. The origianl idea camce from Ken who provided them to US on the first (Eastbound) transatlantic. Erik and I loved them so much we spearheaded the acquiring of them for the double dip I THINK Erik already posted very early on that he would head that up again and I told him I will be happy to assist again. Sooooooo, it is EALRY to be gathering inforamtion, BUT if you already want to be on the "team" who contribute to the funding of this please PM me (please do not expect me to get it off the thread--I honestly have to skim or I cannot keep up and I could easily miss someone). We will post the team names when it gets MUCH closer to sailing time and the team is all listed on the back of the nametags as well (DISnames). THANKS.

Hey everyone,
Thanks, Hadley, for jumping right on this. I am glad that everyone loved the lanyards on the Double Dip.....I did, indeed, volunteer to do them again for this cruise, too.
I will get the same lanyards only likely in a different color maybe...and I'll probalby shop around for some sturdier badge holders....the ones we got for the double dip were too thin and flimsy for my liking....and if we're going to be wearing them for a full 14 days (or in the case of us double dippers...24 days!!! ), we'll want them to stand up to wear and tear a little better.
So yes if you want to be a part of the lanyard team, then send a PM to Hadley (NHDisneylover). Being a part of the lanyard team means that once we get the list going and order the actual lanyards then all members of the "lanyard team" would split the cost evenly and then the lanyards will be our gift to our fellow cruisers. (On the Double Dip I think everyone ended up chipping in right around $25....however it depends on the number of lanyards we have to order and how many team members there are....but in the interest of space for the name badges I think we wanted last trip to keep it down to no more than 20 or 25 team members).
As for the lanyards themselves....I am going to set up a specific lanyards email account in the next week or so (once I get caught back up with real life), and then I will post the email addy. Everyone who wants to have lanyards made for them for the trip will be invited to send me an email at that account with their information (names, Dis names, room #, etc.) and I'll start getting that list going. We'll have to set a cutoff date at some point it won't need to be until much closer to the actual sail date.
Sound good?

So far , we have 2 meets planned ....we have one for Dec 21st (Sunday) WDW most likely at MK there will be a few Pirates from the EBPC cruise there along with new recruits as well ....
Now , on the West Coast it has been a tradition for the last 2 years and this one coming up will be the third DIS meet in March ...It will be March 14th at Disneyland ....We still havent decided if this was going to be in the park or out of the park due to wether or not the majority wanted to meet in or out Last year we had , I think 30 some people and we all went to BB for dinner and was great , even went for a ride on POTC , Cause thats what Pirates do (and I will let someone else tell the story about that lol ) and we are a bunch of Pirates right .... So once again
Pirates DIS meet in WDW Dec 21st (Sunday)
Pirates DIS meet in DLR March 14th (Saturday)
Complete details will be available as we draw closer to these dates
I will be attending both ...

:scratchin - You know - I'm not sure what is up and whether its me or the DIS but I've noticed that during the day my signature is squished but at night - its all normal! :confused3
Is it possible your IE window size is different? For example, I hadn't had this window maximized and I saw some squished. When I enlarged it just slightly, yours was normal. Just a thought. :confused3
Actually its the DIS ... They only allow you to have a signature a total height of 250 pixels and that includes any and all images with lines of text ...where some of your banners are gettin squished is that you have too many lines of text or your images are too big ....

Almost always take a trip in March or April as my birthday present. Mine is April 9. Then we met Todd and his family who also do an annual birthday trip at the same time. Their entire family's birthdays are all within a few weeks of each other. It has become a tradition now.
Love to have you join us. We'll have a whole group of birthday buttons!

:wave2: Monica - my youngest is April 5th - you know - my "April." Seems we always make a DL run too. It started the year she was 10 and was "supposed" to have her braces off but DH FORGOT to pick her up from school early. That was Friday - her birthday was Sunday - needless to say, that cost DH a pretty penny to get her to talk to him.
In retrospect, it might have been better if he hadn't started that tradition. Now we have to do it. Although now that we are DVC members, I guess I can book on points.
Give me the details and we'll be there.
DisneySweetie will probably be here to so we can make it a reunion! (of sorts)
P.S. - - that is July for me - I have 3 birthdays, 2 anniversaries and the anniversaries and 2 birthdays are within 3 days of each other. And yes, I planned it. I'm a Leo - we like the limelight! ;)

Not sure if its stones coming back or just the amount of grease I've ingested the last couple of days. Maybe its time for a cleansing? :scared1:

April doesn't have to be at Church (Yes - I'm a bad mom - I drop her off) today for singing so I may be distracted by shopping. Brea opened a brand new H&M store we just might go check out! ;) You know me and shopping! :worship:

ROLL CALL
The roll call is updated. For those of you not on the roll call yet please email your information to rollcall@transatlanticpirates.com
I have also placed a link to the “simple” list that has been created too on the role call page.
MEETS
I added the 2 meets that "The Captain" is having. If anyone out there is or wants to plan anything please let me know. Our family goes to Disneyland all of the time and would love to know if anyone else is going.
I was thinking for all of those in SoCal we should plan a winery meet in Temecula!
FORUM
We now have a forum on our website. I started different catergories just in case everyone wanted specific places to chat about things like the candy tasting, gift exchanges or just planning
www.transatlanticpirates.com/forum
I got this idea from "The Captain" and the website he sent me from the last cruise.
GALLERY
We also have a gallery on our website too. I was thinking it would be fun if people posted their favorite pictures from cruises or just whatever. You can upload right from your computer.

FISH EXTENDER GIFT EXCHANGE
I need everyone to email me their information for the Gift Exchange. I can't go through all the threads. It makes it too hard and I am worried I will forget someone. Please email information to gifts@transatlanticpirates.com
Please include your stateroom number(s), names of those in the room and ages of children. The ages of the children may not be necessary for all gifts but might be needed for others.
If you would like to be placed on a team let me know.
GUESTBOOK
Thanks to all those who have signed the guestbook. If you signed the guestbook earlier on your submission might have been deleted. Just check and see. When I switched servers we had to change guestbook. Sorry about that!

Wow, that's one gutsy gal! (I always think of the movie "Fierce Creatures" when I see tarantulas. Funny movie:rotfl: ) I think it must be their hairy bodies because they're not really that dangerous to people. We had a doe and fawn in the back yesterday; that's my kind of wildlife...so beautiful.
I hope you folks who have done this westbound Atlantic trip before will share some tips and advice as we get closer to our cruise. DH and I are absolute novices when it comes to traveling abroad (I've had my passport for 4 years and don't have a single stamp in it :sad2: .) I can't believe we're really signed up (there should be a smilie for "miracle" somewhere ;) ).

We put it in a really large plastic container. It is in the backyard. I figured DD could bring it in to show the class. I forgot though she is not going to school tomorrow so he is going to have to wait till Tuesday.
Our neighbor said that we should go to the pet store and buy him crickets. I don't feel that attached to him! :rotfl:
I have no idea what I will do with it after his school visit. If I let him go it will be MILES and MILES from our house! :lmao:

A spider that size would inspire me to MOVE!
I have decided that New England is a great place to live.
We don't have hurricanes, we don't have earthquakes, We don't have Tornados (except the freak one this summer) we don't really have poisonus snakes and our spiders typically stay smaller than a quarter.
So we have 5-6 months of cold and dreary weather... :lmao:

Hey there! Glad you're aboard with us! Just hop right on into the madness!
Glad to be here:thumbsup2 Well here goes :surfweb:
Thanks for making my decision a little easier, even though he starts school a week before we'll leave.
:welcome: Aboard Mate , and your welcome for the Cuban ... looks like we may yet be having another together sometime in the not so distant future

So here's the updated list. ;) Some DISnames I found I added just so we can show they're part of the group. Of course it's not expected for everyone to give their real name if they don't want to. :)
Thanks for understanding me and being gracious about the updated list, Kathy!
The list looks great:thumbsup2 When we get closer to the sailing date I will gladly make a spreadsheet with everyone's name, room and other information for the FE exchanges. I made one for the five night double dip, not sure if everyone else thought it was useful or not:confused3 , but it made it easy for me to hit a deck at a time.

Buckeye Gal can you send it to me so I can update the website?
Sorry I missed it.

Karen
I wouldn't worry about peanut allergies, yet. Anyone who has a penut allergy can post it so we know who can't have it.
We were talking about taking my Grandpa to Shady Maple for his birthday today.
Hard pretzels,( Sturgis, Snyders, Unique) locally made potato chips,(Diefenbach, Utz), Wise Snacks, shoe fly pie, Tastykake, Chicken pot pie, Faschnachts, Bolonga, Yuengling, Heinz ketchup, rock candy, Just Born(Peeps, Mike and Ikes), water ice, pierogies, hard toy sugar candy are also some other local PA things.
No wonder I am overweight.;) :rolleyes1
Hmm... Shady Maple:rolleyes: Haven't been there in a long while. What a Smorgasbord:thumbsup2

Hi all
Love to be in on the candy swap, I'll bring the Cadbury's Curlywurlies.
How is everyone.
We had an earthquake here last night (worcester uk). Just a little one (3.6) shook my chair and the tv. We don't normally have many of these here.
The only other things I got going on with me is about 3 hrs of paperwork which needs to be done (preferably by tomorrow) which is why I'm on here successfully ignoring it.:thumbsup2

You think the airline would question why I'd have 100 little bottles of Jack in my luggage? :rotfl2:

Our backyard is like Dr. Doolittle! We are always finding the craziest things back there!!!

We have had a few of his relatives around our pool in Florida. They were as big as the palm of your hand. We found them after we returned from a 7 day cruise. They had a nice egg sack there too with thousands of baby spiders in it:scared1:
I really didnt mind the spiders, it was the snakes all over our yard and front porch. I hated and those sneaky lizards that zip into your house the minute you open the door to go out.:lmao:

Hey guys,
Someone on the main cruise board here said that they got a call from DCL letting them know that their total due would be less b/c the airfare price had gone down. This is someone who is cruising in 2010 too. Anyone else get a call from DCL?
I would LOVE to get that call today!

On our cruise I don't know if you would want a call regarding airfare. Several early morning bookers got amazing airfare and it was an error. DCL is sticking by the error pricing, but any change will results in an airfare change. eek!

Booking windows on most TA airlines have opened for September 2009, for the week we would be flying and the best deals all seem to head via Dublin from JFK, lol. Under USD $600 to BCN or under $525 to PAR (I am thinking about taking a train, instead of a hotel overnight in BCN.)

Sound good?
You guys are fantastic! I'm in:thumbsup2 I sent a PM to Hadley.
It is a great ice breaker when you find someone with a lanyard and strike up a conversation.

Hi All --
Wow! So many familiar faces (and DisNames). Wonder if this will be like a EastREPO reunion or something . . .LOL Hello to everyone!!!
Well, we're in. We signed up on the first day, but with moving and everything . . did I mention we DID SELL OUR HOUSE!! Yeah! We're now proud residents of Smithfield, Virginia (and as my DH reminds his West Coast family - the HAM capitol of the world . . .LOL).
And we actually got a cabin number on our first try! DH likes knowing that much better. Our boys (ages 14 and 11 right now) like the idea of wonder Europe for a week and then playing video games on board for two weeks . . .LOL DH is thinks we're crazy to plan another 3 week vacation, but next time my sister won't be getting married the week after and we won't be moving 6 weeks after getting back . . .LOL. Should be a breeze the 2nd time around . . .:rotfl:
I'm just started through the 103 pages of posting (not bad considering we were in thousands by now with the EB REPO . . is it because we know each other so much better . . .LOL). Did anyone volunteer to do the Scrapbook swap? That was one of my favorite parts even though I didn't sign up for it. I'd like to help coordinate it for this trip if anyone else is interested??? I do know WHERE my scrapbooking stuff is, but haven't even begun to scrap our last cruise.
Enough said . . .can't wait to meet all the DISers new and old!
Have a super Monday!

The spider in the mouth was gross!! I am just catching up after 2 days off and saw that and almost got sick!! Ugh!:scared1:
The one topic that made the spider event better was Shady Maple - I LOVE THAT PLACE!!!! Very jealous - I wish I could go. I used to live in NJ and we would go there all the time. Yes, will drive for food!!
I don't know who wrote about the chocolate coconut squares, but let me know if you are getting them from Florida because that is what I was aiming for. If you get them, no big deal, I will get something else. I live 30 miles away from WDW so I can pick up something else. By the way, did anyone hear the news about the guy with the gun on the Disney bus and he escaped through the marketplace. They had the place closed down on Saturday night. I didn't hear anything on the national news - just local - Disney must have great PR!
Thanks for doing all the work Stephanie - the website and all looks great!

Clever ship the magic.
Distance from Barcelona to Gibraltar 1,143 miles.
Maximum speed 24 MPH or thereabouts.
Cruising time between leaving Barcelona and arriving Gibraltar 36 hours. Now I know they have done this before but I reckon even at maximum speed thats 300 miles unaccounted for

That makes me wonder about the opposite. If you have booked DCL air at the price quoted today, is there any chance that when they actually purchase the tickets the price would go up? I can't image DCL getting one way SFO to BCN and then MCO to SFO for the price they've quoted me. This is the first time I've used their airfare (and may not if I find a deal on my own).

Thanks, Todd . . . we're excited to give this another whirl. Two years seems so far away, but it was worth the wait for the EB REPO, eh? Looking forward to late dining again and 5 PM swims while DH enjoys the hot tub. We had the Quiet cove to ourselves except for the rowdy happy hour crew :)
Are you going to plan another remake of the Pirates of the Caribbean? The costumes were so amazing!

Geese here in SE Virginia seem to prefer the road and business parks . . LOL. I think it is illegal to run one of them over so they think they own the road. They'll hold up rush hour traffic while the geese just saunter across the road . . . like celebrities.
