We are going to the BWV in Jan 2003. We are taking along my wife's parents and my parents (2BR and a studio). While we are there my mother will have her 69th birthday. Is there any advantage/reason I should let BWV know about her birthday? When should I do it? Right before or get it added as a notation to the studio reservation (which is the room for my parents stay). Any other ideas/ thoughts for an adult birthday at WDW?

I have heard varying reports on DVC resorts' reactions to these things, but this was my personal experience:

DH let MS know when he made the ressie that we'd be celebrating our anniversary. During our stay at BWV, one day upon returning to our room, we found a package with helium balloons and a greeting card. Inside was a nice wooden frame with an easel, which we have since used to frame a favorite photo of us at the California Grill, taken during that trip.

Go for it - there are no guarantees, but we were delighted, and perhaps your mother will be, also.

Have fun!

My mom got the balloons & autographed photo at the BW. If you go to the MK & go to City Hall they will give you a button that says it is your birthday. Also at BW Seaside sweets gave her a free ice cream cone.
