Kona Cafe- Counter Service or Table Service??

I get confused when i read about the restaurants at the poly. Are Kona and the Kona cafe the same thing or different? And is the kona cafe a counter service type place or a sit down restaurant and which credit does it count towards on the dining plan? Thanks!!!

The Kona Cafe is a table service restaurant. There is also the Kona Island Sushi Bar, which is new, and I am unsure if this is also table service, but I think it is for the Disney dining plan. I think people that refer to the Kona are refering to the Kona Cafe. Hope this was helpful.

Thanks! Helped a ton. I've seen the menu and I've been eyeing the macadamia nut crusted mahi. YUMMM!
One more question though- so where do people get Dole whip?? Is there a counter service option at Polynesian?

You used to be able to get one in MK near the Tiki Room ride, and yes I believe you can get the dole whips at the CS at the Poly. Enjoy
