DVC Tote Bags and Magazine?

We closed on a resale thru TTC in early June. I thought I had heard that Disney gives you a nice canvas tote bag when you join - is that just when you purchase directly from Disney?
Also, we haven't received the DVC magazine yet - has an issue been sent out since June and we just didn't get it? :confused3

Resales don't get the welcome kit or tote bag. You also don't receive the association documents which Disney says should come from the previous owner. Disney doesn't want to spend any money on you because you bought else where. You will be added to the DVC mailing list but it can take several months.

When I cancelled my Beach Club add-on, I forgot to send the DVC tote bag back. Will they add that on to my annual dues?:scared:

You have to remember that the tote bags cost most people (who bought straight from Disney) $5000 and up! you can go to the DVC store at OKW and get one for 50. :rotfl2:

I bought through GMAC and my wife wanted the bag. Paid around $17 shipped to buy it new from EBAY. :rolleyes1
