Airport xray question and park passes

Will the xray machine demagnatize our hopper tickets? or if my husband keeps them on him walking through will it do the same ? or will it be fine?

Just back last week and I had our passes in my carry on bag which went through the xray screening machines. We had no problems with them when arriving at WDW.

My AP has gone through the x-ray machines multiple times (I keep it in my wallet inside my purse). Never had a problem.

I've wondered that myself! Aren't the xray machines suppose to be set at a higher level since 9/11? I know last summer when we traveled, we didn't have any trouble, but isn't it magnatized things that can demagnatize cards and passes and not xrays? :confused:

My AP is in my wallet when I go, along with my credit cards. Never had them demagnetized by the x-ray scanner. I did hear that the x-ray machines used to scan checked luggage are set higher than the ones at security, USAirways advises not to pack film in checked luggage.

Regarding magnets, I have a friend whose AP was constantly demagnetizing. They kept asking her if she kept it near credit cards and she said no. After going through about 5 passes, they realized the problem was the magnet clasp on her purse, her AP passed over it when she put it back in her purse.

X rays don't do anything to the strips on cards, but watch out for magnets of any size. I've also been told that you should make sure that the magnetic strips on your credit cards, APs, etc never touch each other. That's another way that the information encoded on them can get messed up.

the machines at the airport do not demagnatize anything. Magnets demagnatize strips on credit cards, passes, etc. Keeping two cards near each other strip to strip will demagnatize them. You should not have a problem.

What if your hopper passes are in the enclosed little papper storage holder?? Will they still de-magatize if they are in their holders??? I have mine together, just in their own holders, don't want them to get de-magnatized.

They will be fine in their little holders. It is direct contact you need to worry about.
