I've been listening to a lot of music from WDW lately. (It's putting me in the mood for my trip next month.) There has been a lot of amazing music put out by the creative teams at Disney.

I was wondering: What are your top three favorite WDW attraction/parade music soundtracks?

Ironically, all three of mine are from attractions at Epcot and the soundtracks are no longer being used. :sad1:

3. The original Journey Into Imagination
2. Spaceship Earth (The "Jeremy Irons version")
*drum roll*
1. Horizons

I'd have to say a close 4th for me would be the Spectromagic Parade soundtrack....but that's probably just because my high school marching band performed before its inaugural performance. :goodvibes Ahhhh, the memories.

Whenever I have a DJ show out of town, I listen to the entire fantasmic, spectro, and illuminations soundtrack on the way to get me in the mood to make magic:cool1: What can I say? I'm a Disney dork

There are SO many songs. You can look at originality or catchiness and so much more! I think my current favorites for attractions are:
Carousel of progress
tiki room

I can't think of any others that are really prevalent in my mind.

Now if you're talking about things I can listen to over and over in my car, then I go back to my original 3
Fantasmic
Wishes
spectro

I like to practice my Mickey voice to fantasmic. "Oh look! a magic lamp! Maybe if I just rub it and wish...."
"some imagination huh? hu huh!"

Whenever I am feeling sentimental, I listen to:
-Remember the Magic...I seem to remember it playing on Main Street in the 90's
-Fantasmic! (A day without Fantasmic is like a day without sunshine)
-We Go On/Promise (Partly because it always played when the show was over for the day at Epcot)
-Old school Illuminations....way ald school

I love the music to:
Carousel of Progress (both songs)
The Original Tiki Bird show
I'll get groans for this... but I LOVE some of the songs from the Country Bear Jamboree esp. Bunny, Bubbles & Beulah's All The Guys That Turn Me On Turn Me Down. I had the ST album as a kid!
the Swisskapolka from the Treehouse
The Main Street loop
The Hollywood Blvd loop
Main Street Electrical Parade music
Splash Mountain's Song of the South songs.
In the queue they even play an instrumental of Hattie McDaniel's Sooner Or Later
Damn, so much to choose and I haven't even listed Pirates or the Mansion!

My absolute favorite is the Busindre Reel from the IllumiNations pre-show. I also love the parade music from "Share A Dream Come True". Not sure about a third one.

#3: Space Mountain queue tunnel
I will literally let folks pass by me in line, so I can take in more of the awesome space-themed music in the tunnel.

#2:Spaceship Earth descent (Jeremy Irons version)
So sad it's gone. I can't think of a more uplifting and visionary piece of music.

#1: Reflection of Earth / We Go On
I heard ROE is closing! Oh no! I love this show and its music! I well up with tears everytime during the finale.

Huh, all space/earth themed! I have to give a nod though to the Fort Wilderness Beach ambiance music they pipe in. I love sitting there in a hammock, and the soothing western themed music waft in the background. Only a week and I'll be there! So excited!

According to the videos I've seen, I noticed the music of "Fantasmic!" was changed when they brought it to WDW, but the changes were really small. I think the only ones they made were when the villains are introduced. Jafar wasn't in the Disneyland version (not in the original one anyway), but he was in the Florida version.

If you haven't figured it out yet......I'm a geek. :surfweb:

They pretty much re-worked about 50% of the show when it was moved here to Florida. We dont have the Columbia or the Mark Twain, so no Peter Pan segment, and the "Steamboat Willie" segment was greatly cut back.

The orriginal show at DL is much better IMO, take a peek on Youtube to get an idea....

I have three favorites. Mickey's Jammin' Jungle Parade always get's me fired up, and I have a copy of the area music outside the MK entrance. Great medly of all my favorite songs. Last but certainly not least is the 50th Anniversary firework show from Disneyland with Julie Andrews. It takes you through all the rides in the park and always puts me in such a great mood!

I've also mixed my own track of favorites and blended it into a Disney fireworks-style compilation. Put a lot of effort into making the transitions all seamless, and it's become one my favorite things to listen to. It sounds like the firework spectacular I would have made were I an Imagineer!

1. Main Street Electrical Parade (Baroque Hoedown) by They Might Be Giants
2. When You Wish Upon a Star by The Main Street Band

That's all I found on itunes but really want to get a few cds when we get to the world this weekend!

Where's the best place to look?

I don't know if I can just pick three. I love African music and I found a mix of the music played at the Animal Kingdom Lodge on iTunes, it's very cool. As it gets closer to Christmas I'll be playing my cd of the Candlelight Processional on a regular basis. I don't have any other cds but I want to pick up some with ride music on my next trip – especially POTC, COP and HM. But now I'm wondering what else I have around here, I really need to start digging through my cd collection because I have a feeling I forgot something. Isn't it amazing that music can put you in a different place and time?

Agreed. Without music I'd be a bitter, snarky guy.

Wait.......I'm still one of those.

Anyway, you get the idea. ;)

I have a disability that makes me want to stay inside and alone alot. Music is one of the few things that helps me cope and "takes me to another world".

I love the original Millenium Walk music. I liked the ToN and ToD music too.

Love Wishes (doesn't everyone)? :thumbsup2

Hard to narrow it down to pick a third. Guess I'd have to say Splash Mountain.

seriosly someone answer me on this illuminations closing thing. Disney will feel my wrath much more than that of PI if they end illuminations

OrlandoMike

I have no news on Illuminations closing, but I really don't think it will ever "close".

A rehab in the future, probably..

But they well never get rid of the fireworks at EPCOT.

And I could deal with that, the technology is out there to make a much better show. But if it happens, I will miss that music!

I think the floating globe is under rehab at the moment (or was when that rumor started?). I think that's it. :confused3

From wdwmagic.com:

13 September 2008: Earth Barge returns to Reflections of Earth with new LED display system

The Earth Barge has now returned (tonight) to Reflections of Earth, complete with it's new LED video display system. The same video remains in the show, but is given a new lease of life with very clear and vivid imagery. It seems that now it is as clear as it can be, and the limiting factor now to view-ability is the size of the actual display, and not it's clarity as it was before. Guests will most likely now get to see images in the show that they had never seen before.

So I think ROE will remain intact for a while to come.
