We've never had the DDE card. We are thinking of getting one on our next trip in two weeks.
?????
If we get the DDE card, and go to Olivia's do we get the 20% off on the DDE card AND the 10% off with our DVC membership card? :confused3

Thanks! :)

I'm not positive but I'm pretty sure you can't double dip. The DDE card is great though, it's saved us a lot of money.

You cannot combine discounts. One or the other only.

The DDE card does give you the 20% discount off of your entire bill - including alcohol/beer. The DVC discount only discounts the food portion of the bill.

Thanks! I think will go with the DDE card.

I first thought that too. The DDE card is not changing.

The Food & Wine event which is also called The Disney Dining Experience is changing it's name to Tables in Wonderland so as not to be confused with the DDE card.

Nope, check this out: http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1950492

It has the quote from the e-mail.

I still think that this is miss information. Read the email again.

"Our Festival, which will take place from September 26 – November 9, 2008 will celebrate Cities in Wonderland, and following that theme, your dining club will be named Tables in Wonderland as of September 15, 2008."

The "club", not the card was the DDE. Members of the club are people who registered when attending F&W events. That's how Disney got their email addresses.

F&W doesn't accept the DDE card for any of their events, so referring to the card doesn't make sense.

Found this on the Special Offers for Florida Residents page of DisneyWorld.com:
Get the most out of every meal when you become a member that enjoys Tables in Wonderland*. Delectable discounts on fantastic food are just one of the many benefits of this edible experience.

*Formerly called the Disney Dining Experience. Please note that valid cards with the Disney Dining Experience title will still be effective through the end of the year.

I stand corrected. Reading the email really made me think that that it was a F&W change.

I posted the email yesterday over on the dining board. I'm not registered for any F&W events (although we will be there in a few weeks), but I _was_ (haven't gotten new card yet) a DDE card holder, so I pretty much knew what they were saying. :)

I think it was the first ever email I got from them too...

Update: Ironically, I just received my second-ever email from DDE, about the "Bocuse d’Or USA Grand Gala & Awards Dinner". But the email appears to have been truncated, as it actually doesn't say when or where (I know about it already though).

Yes. :)

I use this PDF file from AllEars (http://allears.net/pl/disc_dining.pdf) as a reference to the discounts. But the obvious TS locations that don't accept it are Tokyo/Teppan Edo, Rainforest Cafe, Yak&Yeti, everyplace at DTD except Planet Hollywood, Raglan Road, and Cap'n Jacks, and no place at Swan & Dolphin (although they all list a 20% discount to DVC members)

You almost had me convinced! Until I read the part about existing cards not changing. :) :goodvibes

I guess this is just another one of those enhancements made due to overwhelming member request. :p
