It's been awhile - my parent's have been visiting for the last two weeks!!!:eek:

Think my mom just needed help with my dad - he really does need to be placed in an assisted living environment. Just too many meds - leaves him very confused.

Anyway, we did finally get our stateroom number!

Best news is we found out today that our favorite server has transferred to the Magic from the Wonder. He was our server on the 11 night Southern Caribbean cruise and really have become good friends. We've exchanged Christmas letters the last two years and our girls have sent him pictures. He and Shawn got in a huge water fight at CC while he was working - apparently he got in a little trouble when a cup full of water mistakenly hit his supervisors mom!! It was hilarious.

Have already called DCL to request him for this cruise. We have our fingers crossed. Hopefully it will work out.

Here's a picture of Tomas in St Kitts with some of the girls - this will be a great reunion one way or another.

My sister took in a foreign exchange student on a week's notice because her host family backed out at the last minute. Anyway, she arrived from Germany on Saturday and started school Monday. And...

She's coming on the cruise with us!!!

We are all so excited. She is 17, same ages as my DD and DN so it will work out great. It will be like taking my little kids to Disney for the first time. I can't wait to see her face when she see the Magic!:yay:

We have to find her some summer clothes since she didn't bring any but if that's the worst problem we have, we can manage. She has already gone through my DD's closet and has dresses for formal and semi. Heck, she's doing better than me!:lmao:

Any medications you might need, just in case your bags don't get to the room in time. I assume you're coming on board with clothes you can wear to dinner. Again something to keep in mind in case your bags arrive late. Camera (of course). Can't think of anything else off the top of my head, which is weird cause when we board, we always seem to be dragging a whole lot of stuff with us

Cruise Question:
I have some cute Jeans that have the Disney Characters on them,They look pretty dressy (well I mean like Im imagining Cruise Casual to look like....but everyone says that Jeans are NOT recommended for the dining room right?? Im just trying to decide if I should even pack them...One has eeyore on the leg and then the shirt is a collared shirt with eeyore on it...the shirt is pretty dressy but still I dont want to offend or be taboo on the ship by wearing Jeans in the dining room.:confused3

So question is: Has anyone wore jeans and a nice shirt in the restaraunts or is it not preferred??? I know that on the "Wonder" we wore jeans and a nice shirt each night except the formal night but it was only the 4 day cruise and no one on there really dresses up that much even for formal night. :rolleyes1 I have really nice Dresses for Formal and Semi Formal and yes I even have some dress pants and dress capris that I can bring but in the rare case that I would like to wear some jeans for comfort maybe once or twice that I wouldnt seem so out of place(Yes I am jeans and t-shirt type girl).

Hi guys! I found you again!!!

The cruise question about what to bring in your day bag...... Alcohol! LOL!! A few little sips before the cruise couldn't hurt right?:lmao:

We will also be dressed up for pirate night as well! I can't beleice that I can get my husband to wear a costume on board, but he does and we have lots of fun!!

Kritter, we have stayed at the Beach club before and we have loved it! The pool is great! The sand bottom pool and the water slide are a nice touch on a hot day! We stay at Boardwalk most of the time since that is where we own most of our DVC points. We have stayed at most resorts on property. The EPCOT resorts are our favorites since you can walk to EPCOT and Disney Studios or you can take the boat if you want to.

Doing by bi-weekly check-in! LOL. Hope all is going well as we count down to our cruise!:banana: :banana: We had some exciting cruise-related news this week. My sister took in a foreign exchange student on a week's notice because her host family backed out at the last minute. Anyway, she arrived from Germany on Saturday and started school Monday. And...

She's coming on the cruise with us!!!

We are all so excited. She is 17, same ages as my DD and DN so it will work out great. It will be like taking my little kids to Disney for the first time. I can't wait to see her face when she see the Magic!:yay:

We have to find her some summer clothes since she didn't bring any but if that's the worst problem we have, we can manage. She has already gone through my DD's closet and has dresses for formal and semi. Heck, she's doing better than me!:lmao:

When did you get her added to your cruise reservation? I tried about a month ago to get my nephew (age17) added to my reservation and Disney said that could not add anyone else in that age group to the cruise.

Any medications you might need, just in case your bags don't get to the room in time. I assume you're coming on board with clothes you can wear to dinner. Again something to keep in mind in case your bags arrive late. Camera (of course). Can't think of anything else off the top of my head, which is weird cause when we board, we always seem to be dragging a whole lot of stuff with us

I bring everything that I will need for one whole night just in case luggage gets lost: toothbrush,makeup etc., and one change of clothes.

Cruise Question:
I have some cute Jeans that have the Disney Characters on them,They look pretty dressy (well I mean like Im imagining Cruise Casual to look like....but everyone says that Jeans are NOT recommended for the dining room right?? Im just trying to decide if I should even pack them...One has eeyore on the leg and then the shirt is a collared shirt with eeyore on it...the shirt is pretty dressy but still I dont want to offend or be taboo on the ship by wearing Jeans in the dining room.:confused3

So question is: Has anyone wore jeans and a nice shirt in the restaraunts or is it not preferred??? I know that on the "Wonder" we wore jeans and a nice shirt each night except the formal night but it was only the 4 day cruise and no one on there really dresses up that much even for formal night. :rolleyes1 I have really nice Dresses for Formal and Semi Formal and yes I even have some dress pants and dress capris that I can bring but in the rare case that I would like to wear some jeans for comfort maybe once or twice that I wouldnt seem so out of place(Yes I am jeans and t-shirt type girl).

Hey Kristin, glad you were able to get it, did you get the last day you wanted?? or are you waitlisted? I haven't stayed there but I have a BWV and I LOVE it, we want to stay there for the pool area (no pool hopping allowed there). I have eaten in 2 of the restaurants in the Beach Club though and Beaches and Cream is amazing for ice cream!!!!

We LOVE BCV. Wish we had points there. We have stayed there three times. It is our favorite so far, but we still have a few we haven't tried (like AKL). The girls love the character breakfast at Cape May and the ice cream sundaes at the ice cream shop.

Tried to book BCV for this cruise but they were sold out. Still on the wait list though.

Ok, so I just did my online check in, and I know Nancy asked this just the other day, but so many pages have gone by, I'll never find it. The only thing I need to print for each cabin is the 3 pages?
1 says "contract signatures" and has a place for the adult in the cabin to sign and the adult of the child to sign.
2 says "payment authorization"
3 says "guest information" and has our personal info. It also says you must bring this signed form to check in, but it has no signature lines???
The contract I printed is just to be read, and doesn't have to brought with right?
So I have 6 pages total, 3 for each cabin?

Hello everyone! I've been busy tonight trying to get some things around the house caught up. I did find Merkie a dress for formal night on the internet, 60% off. :banana: :banana: :banana: I received an e-mail saying that the FE gift has been shipped. :banana: :banana: :banana: I bought new transfer paper and new t-shiirts and I gave it a try tonight, just one, and it turned out great, so hopefully I will get Merkie's done tomorrow. :banana: :banana: :banana: This will leave only me needing shoes to wear with my pirate costume and we will be ready to go.:banana: :banana: :banana:

I'm still waiting on those docs. I am assuming no one has received them or someone would be on here dancing by now!:scared1:

I am still upset with Disney over my nephew, but I won't be calling to say anything. I called Micheal and after I told him he couldn't go with us, he made plans to go to Myrtle Beach with his girlfriend and her family for fall break. He will be leaving on the Oct 4th and coming back on the 11th. He acted like he was disappointed, but I think he would prefer to go with Brittany than with me.:rolleyes1

I am off to bed, actually to the couch. My bed is covered with stuff that I am getting ready to start packing and I'm too lazyto clean it off.

The girls are Great.. I miss them so much now that they are in school all day I wish they were still home with me...This afternoon they were all "jazzed" up when they got home...They are sooo excited about the cruise...I can't wait......

Tomorrow, morning Bruce is taking a half day in the morning so he can stay home and close our pool up. It was 54 degrees out tonight while I was driving home. I was just begging Bruce to move to Florida. We both hate it here soo much. I soooooooooooooooo wish he could get a job like he has now in Florida!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Kristin, that's great that you were able to change at 7 months out!!! Beware, once you stay in the Epcot area you may never want to stay anywhere else!!!! The Beach Club is wonderful!!!! I'm still partial to the Boardwalk LOL, but if I had a 2nd choice...

I know I was able to change but the first two nights I could not get since I called today.. So we will stay at SSR and move. NO Biggie. Then the kids can get their SSR fix too...LOL!!!!!!!!!!

Hey Kristin, glad you were able to get it, did you get the last day you wanted?? or are you waitlisted? I haven't stayed there but I have a BWV and I LOVE it, we want to stay there for the pool area (no pool hopping allowed there). I have eaten in 2 of the restaurants in the Beach Club though and Beaches and Cream is amazing for ice cream!!!!



My ds was in grade 4 last year, I remember when he had a test with those words too (minus USA and Cuyhoga:goodvibes ), I couldn't believe it!!!

We LOVE BCV. Wish we had points there. We have stayed there three times. It is our favorite so far, but we still have a few we haven't tried (like AKL). The girls love the character breakfast at Cape May and the ice cream sundaes at the ice cream shop.

Tried to book BCV for this cruise but they were sold out. Still on the wait list though.


I am hoping that we can try Cape May this time too!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well, he could but here is the thing. There are no big insurance companies in Florida. Since he has always been a home office employee he does not work on comission. He gets a regular salary, plus monthly comission which is GREAT when sales are good (but he does not sell the insurance) he supports the top of the top guys and gals that do, and a bonus. A job in Florida would be working for an agent who sells or he would have to sell which results in just comission checks every month. We are not used to that!!! Opening up his own agency would also require comission and we would have to "adjust" our life style till he had a good client base. So it is better to be on the end that he is on now if that makes sense??!!! So our hope is that he can still work for this company and do an at home work. There was a girl who did just that worked at home from Dallas Texas and came up here to the home office once a month for just a few days. Now that would be Perfect.... So Bruce is wanting to wait a bit longer before he approaches his boss on this but it could be in our future. We hate the winters here... And tonight is cold!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Rich and I went to Cape May for Goofy's breakfast on our honeymoon, but other than that haven't been htere. We did walk around the hotel though. Really nice place. Its my Best friend's home for her DVC membership.

Any advice on raising 2 babies 14 months apart? My goodness. Andrew, who is 2, is just FLAT OUT MEAN to his sister! Ashlee is 10 months old. He takes things from her, pushes her down...she's actually taking about 10 steps in a row now!!!.....or if she is walking to the "Elmo Chair" he will run past her and either push her down or just jump in the chair before her. It all ends in her screaming and me getting mad at him. I guess his Dad has "busted his butt" a few times for it, BUT Andrew has learned to make himself puke when he gets mad! Lovely little circle we have going on here!

The Sun is shining bright today!!! Going to rain tomorrow though. Two or MORE inches of rain! we need it, but I have the feeling the ground is so dry that the water will just run off and we'll end up with flooding. oooh! and maybe no football! LOL

I'll pop in later. I think we need a change of scenery....a walk might be a good idea!!! C-Ya!!

They were talking about the new HSM too. Seems the premiere date isn't until the 24th. And the movie isn't on their list either. Although someone called their concierge and it seems that they may get to see it on the Ariel vision/dumbo tron or whatever we're calling the big screen on the the magic:rotfl:

Who knows maybe the kids on our cruise will get lucky too. I have no kids so I haven't seen any of the HSMs.

Does he have a time out spot of some kind that he has to sit in when he does something naughty like that? Little stinker! It helps if there really is one spot, maybe marked with a special rug like a doormat or something that he has to stay on for the time (1 minute per year of age).

Unfortunately Indy is not from a Disney company, so they would not show it. There are some good movies on this list. Wall-E was excellent, as is Prince
Caspian. National Treasure is good too. Oh yeah, Enchanted and Ratatouille also great! I would like to Swing Vote, so I think this is a pretty good list. I liked the Game Plan too, totally silly, but sweet.
I wonder which Pirates that is?

Unfortunately Indy is not from a Disney company, so they would not show it. There are some good movies on this list. Wall-E was excellent, as is Prince
Caspian. National Treasure is good too. Oh yeah, Enchanted and Ratatouille also great! I would like to Swing Vote, so I think this is a pretty good list. I liked the Game Plan too, totally silly, but sweet.
I wonder which Pirates that is?

How long is your commute???

It's not bad at all. An hour and a half door to door. It's the first time I've been a commuter in thirty years. The only thing I don't like is being a slave to train schedules.

Just changed my April trip to stay @ the Beach Club anyone stay there???!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Beach Club Villas or the Beach Club? I've stayed at both and love the resort. The big attraction obviously is Storm A Long Bay. I have to admit though, if I'm going to stay in the EPCOT area, I much prefer BWV, because BCV do not have rooms with views of the Boardwalk or lagoon for that matter.

I haven't done it in the past, mostly I confess due to laziness and procrastination. I forget to do something about it until it's too late. This time think I'm going to follow the suggestions I've read on this board to pick up a few phone cards to give out.

Erika, I believe there is a toll somewhere along the way......I'm not sure where or how much!!!
I think if you rent a car, some of them have a device that you can drive through and pay the car rental place!! Someone correct me if I'm wrong!!!

As previously answered, there are about $3 - $4 worth of tolls on the 528. And like the Garden State Pkwy in NJ, they hit you every couple of miles, which is so annoying. Just check me when I get on the highway and tell me what I owe when I get off! Unfortunately, for those of you who have E-Z Pass, it isn't used in Florida. Some rental companies do have a tag system in the car, but I don't know if all do. I know I've used Avis and they do.

I know the movie isn't but they use George Lucas's sound companies and his THX in so much of their movies and the restoring of the old ones i would not have been surprised to see the movie on the list.

I never go to movies anymore anyway. About hte only thing that gets me in the door htese days is Harry POtter. Other than that NOTHING is on my must see list. It all shows up on dvd a few months down the road and tv sooner or later:rotfl:

The mention of Pirates in the movies list brings good memories from our 2003 cruise. We were on board for the premier of the first Pirates movie. They showed it at midnite and while my kids had no problem staying up, after a day in the sun. staying awake for two hours and twenty minutes was tough. My wife kept dosing off and missed the critical part that explained the effect of the moon on the ghost pirates. When we got the DVD and watchd it again, it was like a light went on in her head ;)

Ah found the phone number. I love the Goodsearch engine. Better than google 99% of the time. The number is from Tempus Resorts. Apparently they only call cellphones, and won't leave any messages. That saves me from picking up if they call again.

Since i sent my medical form in i really would not be surprised if DCL called, but i was pretty sure they would have left a voicemail.

I just saw the pics above Shauna. I think it looks great. I've bought fabric for mine and I'm going to attempt to do a NO SEW FE this weekend. No Disney Fabric but that's ok with me. We'll see how it goes.

Sandy, ONLY an hour and a half? I babysit for a family 5 doors down and Steve drives all of a mile to work. He could walk, but there is no sidewalk and it is an old country road that twists and turns and people THINK it is the autobahn! I don't think either one of us has ever had to commute more then 30 mins.

The babies are asleep for now...no fighting, no puking! LOL we have learned to tell when he is going to puke, so we tell him not to do it. We do put him in timeout. The fireplace hearth. He just sits there, then gets up and a few minutes later, he's at it again! I have really paid close attention to their interactions today. SHE is just as bad as him. She will go and try to take stuff from him too. She is learning from the best! So, I don't give into her, I take it from her and make her give it back. It's only fair. when she was about 4 or 5 months old, she would SCREAM everytime Andrew even came NEAR her! LOL Didn't even have to touch her. I should have known then, that they were going to be handfuls! I figure, this too shall pass....in time.

You can add your cell number to the do not call list. I did that for 3 of our cells, but haven't done Colton's yet, and apparently, I need to. He got 2 unwanted calls last week!

I had a commute like that once too. I lived a mile from work and on snow days was always the last one in, cause I took the time to clear the driveway first. They always used to make fun of me. The way I see it, most of my working life, I've had commutes of no more than 15 minutes, so I don't mind the change. I sleep real good once the train gets moving, so it's all good with me. Like I said, the only thing I really hate is I miss the freedom of commuting in my own car and coming and going on my schedule not some darn train's.

They won't all play at midnight! Only the premiers do. We watched National Treasure on one of the cruises during the day. We got the boys from the kids club and went. then Connor started crying. We asked what was wrong? He said, "I don't want to watch the movie! I want to bake cookies!" We just laughed and Steve ran him back to the kids club!!! LOL We THOUGHT he wanted to spend time with us! Boy, were we mistaken!!!

You are a good man, charlie brown. I don't think either one of us would even take a job with that long of a commute OR if it was by public transportation. We actually don't even have PT here where we live. Both counties on either side of us do, but not here. We are in SUBURBIA. My sister just moved, but where she lived before, she had a car and still took the bus into downtown everyday. She said she would rather not fool with the idiots on the highway and it was cheaper. She too, was a slave to the bus schedule though. She didn't seem to mind it.

That's the difference between living in Charleston and outside the Big Apple ;) You've got to be crazy to drive into the city. Forget traffic, the tolls alone are $8. The only time I drive in is on the rare times I have to go in Sunday morning. Then it's a pleasure and I can grab a parking spot within a block of work and conveniently there's a Starbucks on the way ;)
