mac design question

I have searched and read through a bunch of threads and some of the information is a little older or I haven't been able to find what I was looking for. What program do most of you use for designing? Do any of you use a mac and is there a program that is better for a mac than others?

I use PhotoShop Elements 6 for mac. I am still learning as there is a lot to using PHotoShop, and I have had a lot of fun with it.
