Altered Binder Clip Swap

I have seen altered binder clips done as dinner place sitting name holders, it really looked cute and I thought with Thanksgiving and Christmas coming, it might be something different for us to do.

The jumbo clips are about 2" wide and 1" high on the front, bottom, and side.

Would there be an interest? We could break down by holiday and then maybe by what each person would like to do. I think it would be good to have a different assortment even if the same topic, no big deal if we have two turkeys, we each have our own style.

Update: Okay, I am slowly learning swapese. Changing this to appease the Swap Goddess. ;) We are opening this up to the first eight people, if there is must interest, cut off will be at twelve or Sunday, Sept. 14th, whichever is sooner. If we have eight people, you will make eight altered binder clips in that group. So each person will get eight clips, one from each person. Clear as mud? Good. ;) :)

Hey, use them for the family dinner... I have a family dinner for the 5 or 7 of us... depending on the holiday.. We always have a family Christmas Eve dinner, Easter Dinner, thanksgiving... just the 5 or 7 of us.. I don't entertain too often... (too much family drama)

Oh, someone may have to take this over, I already don't know how to run a swap. I was thinking we would make for however many people are in it. Eight people sign up, we make eight of each holiday, and each person gets an assortment of eight. If ten people sign up, then ten for each holiday. Or am I having the blonde moment.:eek:

See, I already knew that being a professional procurement officer for the government. ;) I seem to find myself spending a lot of time in Staples. Jumbo are the biggest size, although it will be tough working with such a small space. I am use to 12 x 12.

Okay, we drop the tags, phew. I knew the weather pressure was getting to me yesterday. And we decorate the entire binder clip. Oh, I better get to Staples quick, there is going to be a run on Jumbo Binder clips. Though I'll tell you a little secret, psst, my office is partial to clam clips.:love:

They made these at CKC this year...used them as photo holders...Marlynnp took the class and we had show and tell at the crop. Chiefdragon made hers upsidedown...she was going to use it as a binder clip (go figure :lmao: ). She's a teacher, just wanted to decorate ones for school stuff...

I guess they could be recipe card holders, pic holders, place card... it would be cute holding a gift card as a teacher giftie...

The tutorial was for the medium size not the jumbo size. I think decorating and sending the binder clips would be easier. I vote no name tags- even if all the clips are different I would like to have the name tags the same if I am doing them for something. I am thinking of having a Holiday tea for the ladies that do the most at the church- kind of a thank you and these would be really cool place card holders. I am in. I had better get some of my other swaps finished up quick so I won't have too many to do when the math book contract comes in and I have to spend time working on that.

Tinkerbean, what are you going to decorate your Christmas binders as? What decorations are you going to use for your thanksgiving binders?

For example, I am going to put fall colored leaves and probably an assortment of fiber, maybe some bittersweet berries on my Thanksgiving ones. The Christmas ones, I am going to put snowflakes on that.

That should be my line! lol no color groups, the best thing about Christmas is all those different handmade ornaments made by our kids. That's what I envision the color scheme for our binder clips. Diversity, baby, diversity!!!
