My computer crashed and I lost this site and could not post this experience before today.

My wife and I snuck away 1/31 - 2/3 for a long, kid free weekend at the BWV. Had a great room with an extra large balcony overlooking courtyard (boards were to the left of our view).

Anyway, we walked over to the quite pool that had been closed. They were just taking the "closed" sign out of the water. We asked if it was OK for us to swim, the gaurd said no problem.

After about 15 minutes along came a group of 4 Cast members with sodas, pop corn, hot dogs, and 10+-baloons congadulating us on being the first users of the pool since it's closure several months prior. After some casual banter they left and we enjoyed our snacks etc.. When we got back to our room there was a bottle of champagne waiting (we were away for our 15th anniversary) and a message on the answering machine from the front desk!!

And people keep asking me "Why do you go to the same place all of the time??"

...and some still ask US "why do you always stay in Disney?" It's because of these type of things. Sounds like you had a great trip. Happy Anniversary.

One of my favorite sayings to my husband is - Only in Disney World - There really is no place else like it!

What a wonderful experience. We get asked the same question. Why the Boardwalk and why WDW. Unless people have stayed there they don't understand. We went a couple weeks ago, Mom & Dad went also. They were staying in a studio on cash (we ran out of pts) They were upgraded to a 1 bdrm preferred view right across the hall from us! I never thought we would get Dad off the balconey. And it was wonderful for Mom who had just had triple bypass in February and planned on spending alot of time resting in the room. My DD who is 4 started her first pin collection. While me, mom and Britt were sitting on the Boardwalk watching the entertainment 2 cm's from the Boardwalk came over and started talking to Britt, she remarked on the cm's pins (she didn't have her pin necklace on at the time) He gave her a beautiful cindy & prince pin and then told her Minnie was going to send her up a certificate. Her face lit up!! It was incredible and lo and behold Theresa was up later that night w/ a certificate signed. My DD was so excited, she didn't want to go to sleep w/ out it under her pillow. My parents now understand the magic and are thinking they might go w/ us in January. You can't pay for the memories we all get from our DVC!!

Wow, what a great story. We stayed at the Boardwalk two years ago for the first time, following an awful experience at the Dolphin that was so bad that we checked out. Well, when I called the Boardwalk in tears begging for some Disney magic, they had a preferred view studio for us at the same rate we were paying at the Dolphin. After checking in that evening, the Boardwalk sent me a basket with carousel horse chocolates and truffles, along with a nice card apologizing for our bad experience at the DOLPHIN! Needless to say, I am now a DVC member at the Boardwalk (as of last week...yippee!).

Wow-- thanks for sharing these stories!

What's NOT to love about Disney!? Or DVC, for that matter? :)

I'm enjoying my little share of that pixie dust. Thanks again!

Congrats Barbarabee...and welcome home. I'm sure you must be walking on clouds, picking up the point schedule every single day? ;) It took me about a month before my DH wrenched it out of my hands. :D Enjoy. I hope we hear more stories, its certainly making my day. Great post.

Thanks everyone!
I am sitting here w/ tears in my eyes. I love this Magical Disney stuff.

It is soo true. People plan a WDW trip as if it is a once in a lifetime destination. I am so grateful we realized a great thing and joined DVC and have that once in a lifetime experience whnever we go.

We recently syayed not on property and husband asked me in a reassuring way, "We did just add on more points, didn't we?" Oh yes we did and we would love to add more.

Hey --with all that has gone on recently why we shouldn't we enjoy something special every so often.?

These are great stories. Thank you for sharing.

We get told all of the time how crazy we are for going to the same place over and over. I always ask why people come back to my town (resort town on Jersey shore) every summer. There is a whole lot less to do in OC. You'll never see the kind of magic on our boardwalk as you will in WDW.

Two years ago, while we were staying at Boardwalk on my birthday, we walked over the Beach Club for the buffet breakfast. My kids quietly sang happy birthday to me, and a few minutes later, the manager and several CM's came to the table and sang happy birthday. The Manager then gave me an expensive sculptured white chocolate Mickey Mouse and two ceramic tiles with the Beach Club logo. It was a very nice start to a great birthday.

Thanks for the great stories - I needed a little pixie dust this morning! Keep 'em comin'!!

This isn't a DVC story but it was Disney magic, all the same.

We were in Epcot at the original Journey into Imagination - my DD's favorite place, right before closing, hoping to get a last ride before our trip ended. However the ride was just closing down. When the CM saw how disappointed my 6 yo daughter was, he asked us to wait a moment.

The manager came out and said he had to do a last ride thru anyway - would we like to ride? He sat in the car behind us - the rest were all empty! We felt like royalty!!

Then he said he needed to check some things out in the ImageWorks and we could go up and play for as long as we wanted. We had the whole upstairs to ourselves for half an hour!!!!

Talk about magical! It brings happy tears to my eyes every time I think of how happy my daughter & son were during those precious moments.

We are looking forward to Figment's return!!

DISNEYDEVOTEE,
We are also big fans of Disney Magic, and had a very un-celebrated 15th anniversary stay at BWV last year. I went ahead and spoke to the manager, not that they owed us ANYTHING, and I knew they were probably very busy, etc, just that it had been a little sad that our special anniversary went un-noted although it was on the ressy. He was very kind and apologetic and it had been a hectic week. He thanked me for the feedback. It's GREAT to hear that they are "back to their old tricks" with you guys' experience.:)

cswans, sorry to hear about your anniversary. We went last May for our 14th anniversary. I also had it noted on the ressie at the Lodge. Like you I didn't get anything acknowledged. :( I guess I should've been happy just to be there BUT after all the wonderful stories you hear on these boards I couldn't help but HOPE there would be some kinda little surprise. ;)
