Can anyone tell me if there is a car wash near to the dock that I can get my car washed at before heading home to NY ( I HATE driving a dirty car) and where can we stop and buy the lotion for Sea Lice on the way to the dock or anywhere in Kissimee?
2 more days until I start out on my vacation!!!!

You can get the SafeSea Lotion at RonJon's the famous surf shop at Cocoa Beach, which is a short distance from Port Canaveral.

I can't help with the car wash, I'm sure someone else can.

1) Drop a line to Shirley at The Perfect Gift (snelsonbrown@aol.com). She's our local Space Coast resident/expert and I'm sure she'd be happy to help you out with the answer to this question.

2) I don't think the Sea Lice prevention lotions are commonly available in stores. You'll want to order some before you go.

Dave -

There's a thread at the top of this forum about 'Everything you wanted to know about Sea Lice' and SanMan reported that he bought the SafeSea lotion at RonJon's just before his cruise around Easter, so apparently it is available there.

Geez, I should have thought of that!!! I just talked to her last week too since I ordered a reading basket for my mom for the cruise!!
Thanks....I wish I had time to order the SafeSea but I leave Friday morning. I checked a local dive shop but they don't carry it.

I just ordered a couple of bottles of SafeSea over the phone through Lighthouse Sports, Inc (Toll free: 800-276-7705, Tel: 919-562-7104). They're local to me but they don't have a storefront, but they will do retail sales through the mail. I got the kind without sunscreen (will use normal suncreen for that) for $12.99/bottle.

Now that I think about it, I should have ordered a case and sold it onboard with the usual Disney markup - I could pay for my cruise! :D

Anyway, if any Inaugural Western Cruisers just can't get some in time, let me know and I'm sure we can work something out. ;)

I just ordered a bottle through Lifestyles direct http://www.lifestylesdirect.com/bodyservice.cfm
I started to order it then saw the shipping was quite expensive and backed out and a screen popped up saying if you told them why you changed your mind they would give you ground shipping (3 to 5 days) free, normally $5.95.
Just a little tip for you when you order.
The regular price is $12.95, I just bought one bottle for DH and myself because I don't think we will be in the water too much, I would think 1 bottle would be enough.
Thanks for your tips!

We picked up an extra bottle of SeaSafe with SPF 30 at RonJon Saturday a.m. before we boarded on 4/14. RonJon's is open 24hrs. and not very far from the port.

Is it right on the road to port or is there signs telling you where to get off to go there??

aprilgail2: Check out the bottom map on Dave's DCL Tribute Site (http://www.dcltribute.com/spacecoast/). It's about 2/3 of the way down the map on A1A.

RonJons is at Cocoa Beach, not far from the Port.

Here's a link to the directions page on RonJons Website:

hope that helps

Car Wash - Head south on A1A. About two miles (at most) ort on the right hand side is a car wash. They have do-it-yourself stalls and also one automatic stall. I use to wash my car there all the time when I lived in that area and it was very clean and safe. Across the street, just south a little, is an Amaco, which I believe has an automatic car wash. You will be in the city of Cape Canaveral. When you're done, just turn around and head north on A1A which will lead into 528 - The Beeline which takes you where ever way you may need to go to get home (Airport, I-95, Turnpike, etc.).
