We are thinking about taking the 7 day Western cruise on January 4, 2003. How far in advance should we book? Is that usually a busy week? When would it likely become a full boat? Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks!

The sooner you book, the better the discount you get (it's called early booking savings). If you have the money for the deposit, I'd suggest going ahead and booking now, especially if you're certain that's the cruise you want to go on.

Ditto. Our early booking discount for a family of 3 (2 are staying home) was $1740 off the rack rate...we are going next March...

We will also be leaving port on January 4th, but on the Carnival Pride. Since we booked a CAT 9, which is opposite of a CAT 9 on Disney, i wanted to book way in advance since there are only six of these on the ship. I have been making small payments bi weekly, so it doesn't break me to pay a big hunk at one time.

I've been tracking the January 2003 7 day cruises because we are interested in that month also.

The first time I checekd the rates was in late January of this year and I have noticed that the price has increased twice since then. I'm interested in a Category 6 cabin for two adults and the price is now more than $400 above the original quote.

My advice would be like the others, book it as soon as possible.

You also have a better chance of getting the dinner seating time that you prefer by booking it as far in advance as possible.
