Okay so we were scheduled to go on the Sept 1st Wonder after 3 days at Poly. Today dh and I decided since we live in Orlando we could do Poly anytime and to take the money and book a 7 day. I DID IT!!!! We are on the Aug. 31st Western cruise :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce:

Now I hate to say this but I have skipped most threads about the western itinerary ( I know..I know..same..shame..)

I just looked at the Excursions offered and since we are traveling with our 2 year old they seem pretty limited.

Has anyone planned to do any of the beach excursions on their own ? Like in St. Thomas & Marteen ?

The excursions are usually alot more expensive than doing it on your own..

I AM SO EXCITED! I don't know what I would do without this board...

and we are planning on doing the Captain Marvins Stingray City Excursion instead of disneys - its cheaper and they let children under 6 go - where disney will not. Not sure yet what we will do in Cozumel but thinking about either Playa Sol or Chakanaab Park and definately Carlos & Charlies

Wow..Ginny you already know so much more than me...

We are taking my mom with us too..but I don't want to use her as a babysitter too much :-)

Where can we book the Captain Marvins Stingray City ?
We did Stingray City for our honeymoon and loved it...but weren't sure now with the little one.

Who are you traveling with ? Our cast is Me, DH., ds(2), Mom...

What is Carlos and Charlies ?

Are you doing the Playa Sol or Chakanaab Park on your own ?

Thank you so much for all your help!

winnyis... We also wanted to do the stingray city with our 12 year old but the 3&4 year olds couldnt go on disneys excursion. Have you been on Captain Marvins? And do they have a web address, we couldn't find it.
Our 3&4 year olds are brave souls but I'm a little worried that it could scare them. It was kind of creepy to me at first, they were like big, wet cats but after a while I loved it. They were almost kinda snuggly.

Anyone had experience with little ones on this excursion?
Thanks!

We did the Stingray City tour with our kids this past February. They are 4, 6 & 8 and it was kind of scary for them. For one thing, there were big waves that day and the other was that they could hear many adults there squealing when the stingrays brushed up against them. My kids only went in the water for a short time and then we took turn watching them on the boat.

My family consists of me (37) DH (39) DD (7) and DS (4). My kids cant wait to get to stingray city. My parents did it last year and when my kids saw the video they were hooked. I have no doubt my 7 year old will love it - she is a fish. Im prety sure once my son sees my daughter doing it he will too - he always trys to be like his sister. As for cozumel - yes whatever excursion we do will be on our own. We did all our own excursions on the eastern cruise last year and it worked out great - much cheaper and we had alot more time in trunk bay than the excursions did.

Ginny, beat you to it. I must get to work before you. The address is www.captainmarvins.com/snorkle.htm We're going on the 1/2 excursion on the inaugural western. Two more weeks of work, then on the plane!!!! Once we're back, I promise there will be several trip reports from our group! Some of us might be English challenged :D but we'll put out our experiences. We're the guinea pigs, and we've got to live to tell the tale! :D
