I got back last Saturday from two weeks at the beach ( house and laundry are now clean!) and while there I tried out some different konk kooler recipes on my best freind ( who never had one before) and my DH (who has).
Both were very close to what I had on the Wonder, it has been 3 months since my cruise, but I knew I had the flavor right.
First recipe
1/2 can cream of coconut
3 ounces light rum
3 ounces dark rum
1/2 of a 12oz can frozen passion fruit juice concentrate(Welches)
4 oz of orange juice
2-3 cups of ice
Add all together in a blender until very fine and smooth

Second recipe
1 12oz can Bacardi frozen pina colada mix
3 oz light rum
3 oz dark rum
1/3 of a 12oz can frozen pineapple-oj concentrate
2 oz of passion fruit liquer
2-3 cups of ice

When we ran out of passion fruit juice concentrate and could not find anymore, we went to the liquer store and found the liquer.
The first recipe is the best but the second was very good too. My freind now has a new favorite drink! CHEERS!

Oh yes,
research with a blender is soooo much fun;) We did have to drink several batches of each version to decide which was best:p

Hey, more info on your recipe please!

On the 1/2 can of Cream of Coconut, what size can? How many ounces?

I like light rum better. Is using the dark rum necessary for any particular reason?

On the 4 oz. of orange juice. Is this regular orange juice (doesn't sound like very much orange.) Or, is this OJ concentrate?

Thanks, can't wait to try it!!!

Well, as long as this thread has been resurrected ...
My compliments to peridobay! I attended a BonVoyage party last weekend and had the bartender make up drinks according to your recipe #1. It was GREAT!

The can of cream of coconut is 12 ounces(I think), and can be found with the other bartender mixer additives, not the fruit juice section.

It is not concentrated orange juice, although you can use oj mixed from concentrate. I recomend real oj though as the flavor will get lost otherwise.

I use formula #1, and if you can't find passionfruit concentrate, there is a mix concentrate by 'Old Orchard' called 'apple passion mango' that works equally.

I make virgins, so I don't know how the rum affects the drink.

One more question on the recipe.

Looked for the Passion Fruit Juice Concentrate by Welches, and bought the only thing I found, Welches Tropical Passion Juice Coctail concentrate

Is that the right thing? Or is there a simple Passion Fruit Juice Concentrate? If so, I will keep hoping to find some.

Want to get it right! Sounds sooooo delicious!

Thanks

Sorry! Just got back in town!
what I used was just Passion fruit concentrate, but I don't see why what you have wouldn't work... if you try it, let us know how it worked for you! Also, I don't think using only light rum would make a big difference to the taste.........Good luck!
PS..thanks for the compliment Dreams:D

Another source for the passion fruit flavor is Passion Fruit Margarita mix. If you've got a World Market (http://www.worldmarket.com/home.jsp) nearby, you can find it there.
