Do you mean there are people who don't make lists of their outfits? :scared1:

Good justification on the figurines! :thumbsup2 And those envelopes are just dahhhling! Love the collage of photos! I keep thinking about doing something like that, but I have to get pictures first. Our house is completely undecorated. I've been procrastinating about painting the walls and trim and until I do that I don't want to put holes in wall. Anyone want to have a DIS painting meet at my house??? :confused3 Also, :rotfl: about calling a baby a "little nugget". At least that's what I assume you were referring to. :rotfl2: When do you think you'll do that???
~Beka~I don't paint. That's what DH is for. :lmao: Hopefully a littel nugget soon. I can't take credit for the little nugget, that's TK's phrase.
That was a mega-great update! :thumbsup2
Ummm...I am totally stealing yoour outfit list idea for the next trip. It so appeals to my OCD!
I am the same way about being cranky all day long if I have to wear clothes I don't really like -- I guess my emotional age is sometimes 2 also!
CUTE figures!!! They are going to look great in your window at Pop!
Tip envelopes are nice!
The pictures turned out sooooo good!!!I was totally thinking of you with the outfits in the ziploc bags. I was telling DH how some people on the DIS do that for their children and how I wish they made ziplocs big enough for my outfits and he thought of the space saver bags.
I had a big long response to your mega update and it disappeared.
I'll do my best to recreate. It started with a celebratory "LL has less than a week/6 days to go" dance.
:dance3: :cool1: :yay:  :woohoo: :dance3:
Love the ipod covers and the Disney figurines... they'll look so cute in your window!
DH's sweatage and not tainting the Vera... :lmao: :rotfl:
Kitties will be OK, I'm sure. Not sure what to say re: MIL...
Your tip envelopes are adorable. The sayings are very clever! :thumbsup2 Maybe I have to add tip envelopes to my to-do list...
And love the photo wall. :goodvibesThank you so much. My OCD organization made the tip envelopes a must! I am really impressed by my $1 ipod cover, you just can't beat that!
Everything looks great!! I've got to stop by Dollar tree and see if they have the little figures! Love the idea of putting them in the window! I can't believe your trip is so close!I know, me either! It's almost a little overwhelming.
:worship:
I can't tell you how many times I have done that exact thing. Every time I got to the dollar store DH says "so did you dollar yourself to death?"
I could see the picture of the figures all lined up before I read what you said about them and I thought "ohhh wouldn't those look nice in the resort room window"
Sorry about your original evelopes but I do think that these ones are very cute :thumbsup2Dollar yourself to death! :lmao: I am so going to use that next time we go. DH will get a kick out of that.
LL, today I discovered the wonder of the Dollar Tree! I mean I'd been there before, but I saw lots of the things you purchased, and it made me think of you and how close you are to your trip.
Awesome mega update! Although I don't know if we should be in awe :worship: of your listy ways or get you some kind of support group. :lmao:I remember why I limited myself going to Dollar Tree now. I spend too much money.
I am really leaning towards a support group. I wonder if psycholistmania is an official diagnosis yet? Maybe I could be the first? ;)

Do you mean there are people who don't make lists of their outfits? :scared1::lmao: :rotfl: :rotfl2: Not in these parts! I was thinking of you too with your matching outfits. I have already started preparing DH for matching family outfits in the future. :goodvibes

Little peanut I use, but little nugget just sounds funny. Love it though! And LL, DBF is nowhere near the perfectionist I am, so therefore I don't really let him near the paint. You should see our siding after he stained the deck this year!:scared1:

I still have one Transfer to use but I have decided that I don't want to make another shirt for myself. I can't find a design I must have and I think four shirts will do me just fine. ;)

A mega-update!? Yee-haw! That will ease what I call the "Sunday night dread." I really have to find a job that I don't hate! :sad2:
Coming right up!
I hate Sunday Night Dread! Thought I don't mind my job, I still have it on most Sundays, some worse than others.
I think everyone has it!!! I know I do, and I actually enjoy my job once I am there!
Yes, Sunday night dread is evil. :sad2:
Anyway, LL, that was an excellent Mega-Update!
Love the t-shirts! :yay:
Love the tip envelopes! :yay:
Love the wedding pictures! :yay: :lovestruc
Love the Disney figurines! You'll take a picture of them looking out the window, right? Ooh, and maybe MouseKeeping will play with them! :yay:  :woohoo:

I thought a fellow DISer with MIL issues would enjoy this one. So my MIL announces to me yesterday that she made plans for me to go visit some family friends while I'm in FL :confused3
YA, she wants be to go visit her BF's parents...who I don't know. I barely know her best friend (she lives out of state). Her rationale for this...they only live 30 minutes from Orlando. HUH???? So I remind her that we won't have a rental car and I'm certainly not renting a car just for the day to visit people that I don't know 30 minutes away. So then I had to put up with a 1/2 hour lecture about why she thinks it's crazy that 1) we go to Disney every year and enjoy it, 2) we stay on property, and 3) want to only go to the Disney parks instead of enjoying the whole state of Florida.
Ok, I know that some people don't "get" the Disney thing. Fine. But try to respect my interests and the interests of your son and granddaughter. :headache:

She is mad at DH because the day after we get back they are having a 50th Birthday party for his Aunt. It's at 2PM, an hour away from us. DH is usually home in bed between 3PM-4PM because that is first night back to the overnight shift. MIL is beyond angry and said that his Aunt has done so much for him (like be rude to me) and that he needs to go. I told her point blank that I wasn't going and DH had to sleep. It's not like him working overnight is a new thing, he has told the WHOLE family numerous times that if they want him to come, events can't be on Sunday afternoons. :headache:

DH is excited for Disney, too! Though I don't think he conveys his excitement as well as I do. His is a more reserved excitement. ;)
I have been figuring out my camera settings and I am so excited. I finally found how to set the nighttime and fireworks settings. Yay! Spectromagic photos here I come! Hopefully the setting will work well while we are down there, along with my trusty gorillapod.
I also found this cool setting called Color Accent. Basically what it is, is that you have a little box, you put the box over the color you want to show in your pictures. For instance, I did pink for my first picture. When you take the picture, only pink colors will show up and everything else will be black and white.

I have to say that my free(!) mousepad I got from Snapfish of our wedding flowers demonstrates this beautifully. As well as my Lime Green Disney Organizer. :goodvibes
I also took pictures of my purple luggage.
http://i59.photobucket.com/albums/g305/lallie23/DIS%20Pictures/IMG_0216.jpg
I am really excited to play around with this at Disney. I think it's just a neat feature. :goodvibes
I figure I should end this camera geek post with more photo lists!
Hollywood Studios
*Hollywood Blvd.
*Chinese Theater --- I love this building. I want pictures of the handprints too!
*Pictures in The Great Movie Ride --- I am determined to get a good picture of the Carousel horse from Mary Poppins. Mine from last time was awful!
*Muppet Fountain
*One Man's Dream --- I'd really like to get some great pics of the displays.
*Fantasmic
Animal Kingdom
*Tree of Life
*Kilimanjaro Safaris
*Animals, Animals & more Animals --- I just love taking pictures of Animals. When I went in 2003, I got these great shots of a baby monkey swinging over to it's Mama. So great. I wish I still had them.
*Flora, Herbage, Greenery, Oh My! --- I just love the atmosphere of Animal Kingdom and plan to make many pictures of flowers, trees and such.
*Finding Nemo
Both are on the shorter side, but that's okay with me! These are more like a guideline anyways. ;) I have a list of miscellaneous pictures coming up next.

Love the color photo trick. That and your stitch together picture... really cool! What kind of camera is it?
I am a picture taking nut myself. I've been struggling with how many memory cards I should bring with me for photos. How many are you bringing? Or do you have a laptop you can download to nightly?

I bought the camera in April, I think. I have yet to fill up a memory card on the camera, so I am not exactly sure. I honestly don't think I will need all of them but I rather be prepared, you know? It does work on regular AA batteries, which I love. They hold the charge for a really long time too. I bought the Energizer rechargable camera batteries, they are a little expensive but I bought two sets and they last a very long time. I think I changed my batteries once on the cruise. Are you still shopping for a digital?

Remember that the camera centers in the parks can transfer the photos from your memory card to a CD. The advice I've read says be sure to check the CD before you leave the camera center and erase your memory card.

Have you ever tried melatonin? It's a natural sleep aid; you can get it OTC in the pharmacy section. Probably with the herbs/supplements. I finally used some last night (a double-dose) and I think it helped. You want to be rested for Disney!
Edit: I tried a new system with my smileys and I don't like it much. I just changed the "starter smiley" for each row and repeated the order, but it's not as pleasing to the eye. Sigh.

I have tried melatonin, I was using it before the wedding. I didn't even think to dig it out. I was planning on taking it the night before we leave so I will sleep but I think I may start tonight. I really am exhausted.

Oh, and LL, I'm not sure what type of battery you have, but if you're planning on doing videos, it'd be good bring back ups. I learned that in San Diego when Nevi used up all my battery at the San Diego zoo shooting video clips of animals. I had plenty of space on my card, but recharging my battery every night wasn't sufficient for that. I bought a second battery for Disney and charged both at night and was fine. :thumbsup2

Am I crazy or did I see a Snow White disign on here? Or maybe someone else knows? I was hoping to steal it and use it for my MNSSHP shirt. (If that's okay) Please help! I scrolled through over half of this PTR looking for it!
~Beka~I don't know if you saw Snow White or not. The only Snow White I think I had was of Lilo & Stitch dressed up as Snow White and Grumpy.
:rotfl: :lmao: If electricity goes out at the World, you might be able to power, well, probably not a whole ride, but a snack stand. I think you're set! :thumbsup2Not Spectromagic? Maybe I should buy a few more batteries! ;)

I have to be honest, I am starting to get butterflies in my stomach and a wee touch of nerves. Don't get me wrong, I am super excited to go to Disney but a little nervous. I think it's the anticipation.
I feel like I accomplished a lot today. In list form, shall we?
Letter for MIL -- I had to write out the instructions for the kitty care. It kills me that she coming to check on them but I rather have them checked on than not. That's how much I love my furbabies.
Seats on Flight -- On a whim I was showing my cubicle mate on how you can pick your seats on AirTran flights. So I went to the screen for the return flight from Orlando. Originally I had paid $24 to pick our seats on the way there and the way home. On the way there we had a two seats in a row. On the way home we were going to have three seats in a row. DH has mucho anxiety about the close quarters on the plane so being the good wife I am, I said I would sit in the middle. Boo. Today I saw that on the way home, there is seat rows of two now! Yayayayayaya for flight changes! Yayayayayaya for two seats!! Yayayayayayaya!!!
Memory Cards -- Laugh if you will, I did pick up two 1GB memory cards. They were on sale for $14.99 at Target! I was very excited to get them for so cheap. That's a lot of memory for your buck! I am confident that I will have enough memory for pictures and video. As long as they don't fail....:rolleyes1
Email to Mom -- I sent my Mom our Flight and Hotel information with phone numbers and all that good stuff. I did not send it to MIL because I don't want her tracking me down. I let my mom know that if something awful happens that she will have to call MIL, I did provide her phone number because I am good like that.
Litter Box -- DH and I bought an extra large roasting pan to use as an extra litter box while we are gone. We put it down early to make sure it would work. Good thing we did. Didn't work so well, so I had to pick up a cheapo litter box at Target. Which is more difficult than you think since Sulley is ginormous and over 23lbs! They were out of the large size, so I had to pick up a shallow tupperware container. :lmao: That is probably more than you ever wanted to know about a cat litter box.
Cleaned Desk -- I cleaned my desk at work and reorganized my set up. I really like it. I have to clean my desk before I go on vacation. Helps me to ease back into stupid work.
Keys -- DH is going to drop off our house keys to MIL tonight. She did offer to come pick them up on Friday night. No thanks. :goodvibes
We have a few things on to do list still:
Pick up some back heat patches for me -- Stupid back pain. Of course, like an idiot I was moving furniture around this weekend. Idiot.
Clean the House -- MIL coming, enough said.
Laundry -- Need to do both our work laundry so we can pack most of it.
Finish Packing -- I am so close to be finished, alas I know that on Friday night when I get home, I will unpack everything and start over because I will fear that I have forgotten something.
Paint My Toesies -- I removed my nail polish on my toesies over a week ago to cleanse the toesies. They must be clean for the dream squad juju. I think I will be painting them tomorrow night to provide the optimum results once I am down there. Jackpot!!
Charge Camera Batteries -- In the process of charging them all.
I am sure I will think of a million more things to do before we leave. I am special like that.
Over the last few weeks I have been getting into the Disney spirit by watching Disney movies and finishing "Walt Disney The Triumph of the American Imagination" by Neal Gabler. The biography is so good and it's pretty fair as well. It's not jaded but not sugar coated either. I am just about at the end and think I will finish it before we leave.
As far as the Disney movies, I realized that I am a complete sap. The other night I watched "The Littler Mermaid" and balled my eyes out at the end. When I was little, and mind you LL was just about 7 or 8 when this movie first came out, I remember watching it with my cousins and they laughed at me because I cried at the ending. The part that gets me is when King Triton gives Ariel her human legs, I start crying EVERY TIME! Then at the end at the Wedding, when he makes the big wave to reach her on the boat, SOBBING. I thought I had outgrown it. Not so much, I still cried.
I also cried at "The Fox and The Hound" when Widow Tweed sends Tod back into the forest. Sobbed. DH had fallen asleep and he was woken up by my sobbing. I was so upset I had to turn it off and didn't see the ending. I still haven't watched the end, and I forgot what happened. I can't risk the tears again.
Other movies I have watched in the last few weeks...
Mulan
Pocahontas
Beauty & The Beast
Ratatouille
Peter Pan
Brother Bear
Bambi II
Atlantis
Alice in Wonderland
Monsters, Inc.
Finding Nemo
Toy Story
Robin Hood
I think that's it. Oh and in case you were wondering, DH has fallen asleep during all the ones that I have been watching on the nights he is home. I am saving Mary Poppins for Friday night. :goodvibes
While I was in Target today I saw "The Little Mermaid III" and I wanted to buy it so badly. Alas, I didn't. I have an Amazon gift card and plan on purchasing it as soon as I return from Disney. I loved "The Little Mermaid II" (release it from the Vault, oh wise Disney Vault Gods :worship: ) and really want to see this third installment. Hmmm....I can't decide which movie to watch tonight....suggestions?

Okay, first off, I vote for Hercules. That is such a good movie. Makes me cry every time I hear Go the Distance. It's because I have issues...we won't discuss. ;)
Yeah for checking off items on the lists!
And you know what? If spending $14.99 on two 1 GB cards makes you feel better, then for pete's sake, enjoy them! You have PLENTY of card space for your photos/videos and back up to boot.
Sounds like things are going swimmingly. :thumbsup2

I am refusing to feel guilty over the $14.99. It makes me less worried. :wizard:

Oh heck, that's a typical scenario in my house, pre-vacation!! Except I bypassed the make-your-own litter box and went straight to the cheapo actual litter box. Pippin will express his disgust at not having the box area "just so" by not using the box area. Nuf said.
Clean the House -- MIL coming, enough said.
Just so you know, this never changes. I'm married 16 years and still get anxious over the state of my house when I know MIL is coming....:scared:

And yay for you not having to sit in the middle on the flight back! :banana:The way I figure it, me emailing MIL will just open up the floodgates of communication which has been minimal this week. I would like to keep it that way. DH said to just send it to her, I told him he is more than welcome to type it out and send it to her but I will not being doing that. This is the MIL who wanted us to call her on our honeymoon and said that she would be calling us on our wedding night to make sure everything was okay. Yep, that's what she said. I am overwhelmed.
I am nervous.
I am giddy with excitement.
I am on emotional overload.
I feel unprepared.
I, LL, feel all of these things at this very moment. Exhausting, really. The fact that I feel unprepared even makes me scoff at myself. Hello!? What is the DIS for if not to make you over-prepared!?
Tomorrow is Disney Eve and I have lots to do still. I was not productive at all tonight, I am in a slump. I know I will be running around tomorrow like a mad woman. Finishing my packing, preparing the kitties, painting the dream squad juju on the toesies, DISing, I must post my final thoughts before I leave after all. ;)
Okay, when I think about it maybe I don't have that much to do. DH is cleaning the house tomorrow and packing for himself. He is also going to the bank to withdraw some funds and buying stamps. Sigh. Why didn't I take tomorrow off?
Here's the plan:
Wake Up
Do the Happy One Day Dance!
Go to Work (BOO!)
Do as little Work as possible
Go Home (YAY!)
Eat Dinner -- We are doing takeout, so that's easy.
Pack Suitcase
Gather everything in one place
Pack all the little things in Vera
Paint Toesies
Make sure DH is packed and he isn't "forgetting" his personalized Wall-E Tee
DIS, DIS, DIS!
Sleep.

I am overwhelmed.
I am nervous.
I am giddy with excitement.
I am on emotional overload.
I feel unprepared.
Me too! I had today off and still got up at 8:30 AM to start getting things together (that is verrrry early for me on a non work day  ) We are almost there!!
I am overwhelmed.
Make sure DH is packed and he isn't "forgetting" his personalized Wall-E Tee
:rotfl2: I actually am packing DBF's WALL-E shirt myself to make sure it gets there!
Did you post a picture of the personalized shirt? I am going to have to go back and make sure I didn't miss it. I love Wall-E!!

I can't actually believe it's time for our Trip. I have a great feeling of peace this evening. After all of my careful planning, obsessing and listing, it's finally time to actually GO. I've painted the dream squad juju on my toesies, finished packing and laid out my outfit for tomorrow. I am ready!
I booked this trip to distract me from all of the Wedding drama and something for DH and I to look forward to after all of the Wedding hoopla. I can't believe that we have already been married for two months! It's crazy. I really want to enjoy this trip for the two of us and start our own family Disney traditions while we are down there.
I was reflecting tonight about how this is truly a trip of firsts. It's our first trip together and my first trip staying on property. First time having ADR's and the first time I have planned to this extent. I am really happy with everything I have planned, because let's face it folks, I did the planning. ;)
I have a few trip resolutions that I want to commit to the DIS Boards.
*Do not get impatient with DH no matter how slow he walks.
*Stop and smell the Disney Roses.
*Do not sweat the small stuff.
*Keep on truckin', even if it's raining.
*Enjoy the Romantical moments with DH.
*No Commando Park Touring!
*Don't worry about the itinerary, it's more of a guideline.
*Take lots of pictures and don't rush and miss something I want to capture.
*Have Fun & Relax!
Finally, when I started this PTR, I never thought I would have such a following or be able to talk to so many great people. I have had so much fun sharing our Trip Planning with all of you. Thanks for listening to my Wedding woes, MIL drama, listing, planning quandries and thank you so much for all of your valuable advice and support. I can't wait to share our Trip with all of you. Skittle Hugs all around!!  :grouphug:

Awesome Disney quote, LL. It brings a tear to my eye.
You have your priorities in order. You've planned the most wonderful trip, with your wonderful husband, now it's time for you to relax and enjoy it. What will be will be.
May you have a wonderful vacation blessed with magical moments...regardless of whether they're from dream squad juju or of your own making.
I feel honored to have gotten to know you as a friend, to have had your love and support, and to be able to support you as you embark on this great vacation.
I can't wait to hear about it when you get back! :goodvibes

It was indeed a Jolly Holiday for LL and DH. I didn't think it was possible but our trip exceeded my expectations. Which was hard to do since I planned obsessively and became a maniac with lists. To my surprise not everything went as I planned or listed.
If you want to see my plans and lists, check out my PreTrip Report. "Once Upon a Time." (http://www.disboards.com/showpost.php?p=24757398&postcount=1)
For those of you just joining in, I will give brief introductions to the Cast.
Me a.k.a LL on these boards. I turned 26 while down in the World. This is my 5th trip to Disney. The 1st trip with DH and the 1st time staying on property.
DH a.k.a. the loving husband who puts up with my Disney obsession. He is 27. This is only his 2nd trip to Disney. He was 13 the last time he went, he previously stayed at Ft. Wilderness Campground.
http://i59.photobucket.com/albums/g305/lallie23/Disney%202008/IMG_1173.jpg
DH and I were married on June 28 of this year, we went on a not so magical cruise to Bermuda for our Honeymoon. Planning this Disney trip became my saving grace while going through all the crazy Wedding planning stress and after our not so honey - honeymoon, it became "Honeymoon Take Two" for us.
We went from August 30 - September 6th. We stayed Pop Century for the first 4 nights and then the Wilderness Lodge the last three nights. We also were able to experience the joy that is Free Dining. I took lots and lots of pictures and plan on sharing quite a bit of them on here.

Of course, I forgot to put something into my first post that I planned on doing during our whole vacation! D'oh!
We shall do our first list of the Trip Report! I wanted to give these questions to all of my readers to ponder over....
Did we book bounce back?
Did we stick to the schedule?
Who had a meltdown in France?
Did I meet any DISers?
Did we go to every park?
What 2 ADR's did we skip?
What 2 ADR's did we add?
What were our favorite attractions?
Who won Toy Story Mania?
What ride did we get stuck on?
Did LL meet Captain Jack to warn him of TK and Tink?
How did the kitties survive without us?
Did we have a Dole Whip?
Did I feel the need to make more lists while down there?
Did my dream squad JuJu work?
What was our favorite ADR?
What shoes worked for me?
Why did we leave a park before it even opened?
Did LL get to meet Mary Poppins?
Which resort did we like better?
I would love to hear other's guesses and speculations to these questions. :rolleyes1

Of course, the night before we left I didn't sleep well. How could I?! It was Disney Eve! We were shooting to leave our house between 6 and 6:30AM. Our flight was departing at 9:30, but I have this thing about getting where I am going in case anything awful happens on the way. I want plenty of time for disasters. I blame my Dad. He is like that too, this is the man who was famous for cutting our yearly vacation at the lake short by leaving the day before we were scheduled to leave. EVERY YEAR. Anyhoo...
We woke up, showered, said goodbye to the kitties and were out the door at 6:25AM.
DH show the camera your excitement!
http://i59.photobucket.com/albums/g305/lallie23/Disney%202008/IMG_0329.jpg
You call that excitement? I want to see DISNEY excitement!
http://i59.photobucket.com/albums/g305/lallie23/Disney%202008/IMG_0331.jpg
LL's excitement.
http://i59.photobucket.com/albums/g305/lallie23/Disney%202008/IMG_0334.jpg
It was DH's job to get directions and to drive to Park, Shuttle and Fly. DH doesn't do well with driving in Boston and I have found that it's easier on my nerves if I have no idea where I am going and just let him drive. I found this out when I drove to the cruise terminal, not a fun way to start a honeymoon let me tell you. If we get lost, it's all on him. Less fighting that way. DH got us to Park, Shuttle and Fly with no incidents. Snaps for DH!
We left our car, hopped on the shuttle and there was a cute little family on there with us. A Mom, Dad and their little girl. Her first trip to Disney. They were staying at All Star Movies, they saw our Pop luggage tags and were jealous as they had wanted to stay there. I told them I had heard good things about the Movies and they would have a great time no matter where they stayed!
We were at the airport and through security by 7:40AM. Yep. We had about two hours to wait. Oh well. We had the breakfast of champions while we waited. DH had an Orange Mango Vitamin water with BBQ kettle chips and I had a Diet Pepsi with Honey Mustard kettle chips. Yep, I had fallen off the soda bandwagon a few days before we left. Let me tell you, I drank lots while we were in Disney.
I listened to my Disney music on my Ipod and read my book. Oh and people watched. I love to people watch. Of course there were a lot of families around heading to the Mouse's House. There was this annoying squinty lady who talked very loudly to everyone. Kept telling her children to not stare at people, LOUDLY. Who does that?
We get on the plane and we see the seats and groan. DH and I are not small people. We wedge ourselves into the seats, DH gets the inside and I get the outside. 5 minutes sitting and I can't feel my knee caps. It was not pleasant. Luckily the middle seat handle came up so DH was more comfortable, alas I was not. I took one for the team though and was squished beyond belief. There was a family of three across the aisle, the little girl was super cute, she was watching Finding Nemo which was enjoyable for me. I think the Mom caught me looking and angled it more towards me. Thanks Mom!
Diagonal from us was the weirdest guy. Ever. First off, he's complaining to his wife about being squished. Dude, deal. DH and I were squished beyond belief but you grin and bear it, you know? He makes her get up, she's in the middle seat, get him something to use as a pillow and then complains because she is trampling over him. Sigh. People. So then as the plane takes off, he gets out Crest Whitening strips and puts them in. Does anyone else find this odd? Why would you do that in public? On a plane? Gross. So I had the joy of seeing him apply and remove them. Blech. Then the drink cart comes out, you know you move your leg when they get near. Not this guy. He tripped one of the flight attendants! Then they kept having to ask him to move his leg whenever they were near. I was flabbergasted. Then to top it all off. His head shaking. I have problems with my ears popping on the decent, I am sure I look funny as I try to get them to pop. This guy was going all out head banging away. I was worried he was going to get whiplash! DH and I had quite a few giggles about this guy on the way down. Kept our flight amusing.
We finally land and we are on our way...but not before the lady behind me slams my head with the overhead compartment. Ouch. Let me tell you, that really hurt. It brought tears to my eyes. I was standing in the aisle waiting to go out and she just opened it. THUD. Ow. I took some ibruprofen as soon as we got off the plane, I wasn't risking a headache from it. So we head to the Orlando Airport Monorail thing. I don't remember exactly where I am going but I know the vicinity. I hadn't done Magical Express before but last time I flew to Orlando, my transportation was right near there. So I am leading the way and squinty lady from Boston asks me where to go. I say, you get on the monorail thing and there will be signs. She doubts me. I said, well that's what I think and smile. She starts to be annoying and wondering out loud if I am right. Either take my advice or don't. She walks away muttering to herself about whether I am right. I hop on, DH follows, so does squinty lady and her brood. We get to the other side of the airport and head to Magical Express, all the way squinty lady and brood follow wondering if we are going the right way. I was so annoyed at this point, I don't tune out annoying people well.
Lo and behold, Magical Express is right there. No thanks from Squinty Lady, nothing, no acknowledgement. Jerk. I get in line, no wait thank you very much, get my papers stamped and head into the Pop Century line. Luckily squinty lady got into the All Stars Line. Thank goodness for small miracles. We waited about 15 minutes for our ME bus. DH had a good chuckle at my expense while in line. I had red ink all over my chest area...it was from the stamp they used on our ME documents. I had held them with my chin when I was fidgeting with our bags. DH made sure that I wrote it down in my TR notebook. Men.

As you can see, my bangs were flying all over the place. I had severe hair battles all week.
http://i59.photobucket.com/albums/g305/lallie23/Disney%202008/IMG_0343.jpg
I was very relieved to get a "real" Magical Express bus as I really wanted to watch the video. It was great, I got a bit teary eyed. It was the excitement I tell you!
I was not happy to see these.
http://i59.photobucket.com/albums/g305/lallie23/Disney%202008/IMG_0344.jpg
My attempt at a picture of the Walt Disney World Sign. As you can see, it was pouring by this time.
http://i59.photobucket.com/albums/g305/lallie23/Disney%202008/IMG_0346.jpg
Sigh. I started to freak out about the rain and hurricanes. It took me a bit to calm down. I was starting to worry that all my plans would get ruined. I put everything in perspective while on the bus and calmed myself down. Channeled my inner TK, if you will. Pirate! I believe our bus was also going to Animal Kingdom Lodge but I can't remember. I do remember that we were the first stop. DH is sleeping or I would ask him, it's back to work for him tonight. Boo. I told DH that I would hop off the bus, he would get our carry on's and I would go check us in before the hordes of people made the line too long.
Will our room be ready?
What section will we be in?
Will the rain stop?

Yahoo! It has started. Now I want more! popcorn:: I love that picture of you and DH at the Poly. And that isn't even your photoshoot. Can't wait to see those pictures too and what top you decided to go with. I am pondering all of your teaser questions
You left a park before it opened? I'm going to say AK but no idea why.
Skipped 2 ADRs but added 2... hmmm... can't wait to find out.
Which resort did you like better? I'm gonna guess WL. But I'm staying at Pop in December so selfishly hope you liked that too.
Did you book bounceback? I sure hope so!!
Meltdown in France?? Yikes. Good thing that is also the home of the grey goose and grand marnier slushies not to mention glasses of champagne. ;)
What ride did you get stuck on? Hopefully not IASW b/c that would just be annoying.
And lastly did your dream juju work? Well you kinda already answered that in a way by saying that this trip surpassed your already high expectations. And I am so glad it did. So whether you got an actual "dream squad dream" or not... sounds like you won! :goodvibes
You sure encountered some interesting characters at the airport. But yeah for no line at ME. Boo to the pouring rain as you drove under the gates but hopefully that was Mother Nature getting it out of her system.
Oh and lastly LOVE your TR title. Mary Poppins is my favorite. I hope you got to meet her!!

I can't wait to read more! :thumbsup2I didn't know I had one either. I think it's your Pirate influences.
Can you just imagine what "whitestripguy" will do in front of people he knows and is comfortable around? Gross and UGH!
I would have told Annoyingdon'taskquestionsthatyoudon'twantanswersto Lady that ME is on Level 4I can't imagine what he does around friends. Blech.
:lmao: I should have told her that. She was annoying and continues to be.
Can't wait for more! You are just going to have to wait and see what happens. Hehehehe. Muhahahahahaha! :lmao:
How lazy do I feel that I've been back a week and haven't started by trip report. Can't wait to hear all about your trip!I am trying to keep the magic going. :rotfl:
I am signing on for this trip report as look like it will be tons of fun! Uh....Crest whitestrips on a plane???..while sitting in the aisle seat?!? Un. Be. Live. Able. :eek:It really was. I think when I first saw him do it, my mouth was gaping open. I couldn't believe it! Thanks for joining in! I hope this TR will be lots of fun! :thumbsup2

Too cute!!! :goodvibes
DH had a good chuckle at my expense while in line. I had red ink all over my chest area...it was from the stamp they used on our ME documents. I had held them with my chin when I was fidgeting with our bags. DH made sure that I wrote it down in my TR notebook. Men.
I think it is adorable that he wanted to make sure that you wrote it down! ;)
I was not happy to see these.

Anyway.
WELCOME BACK!!! So glad to hear that you had a great trip. I absolutely love that picture of you and DH at the Poly.
Sucks that it was raining on your first day there. That happened to us last year. I hope you it stopped for you and you were able to have a fun first day.

How did you get that loverly pic of you and DH at the Poly? Friendly passerby or gorillapod with timer? With pics like that, you didn't need the stinkin' photo shoot anyway!
I can't wait to see more of your beautiful photos...and to hear about the meltdown in France. I'm thinking it's going to be a humorous story, regardless of who it was.

...schedule, then you've better pack up your bag of tricks and be gone!" - The Sword in the Stone. Day 1, Part 2.
I hope you all know how much I love you and how dedicated I am to this TR. I am having severe computer angst tonight, almost finished my update and then lost it. :headache: Here we go again....
So DH informed me of more Squinty Lady reports. Apparently I was so blinded by my Disney goal that I didn't realize that she wasn't behind me when I got to the Magical Express check in desk. Apparently since she took a different way then us she didn't arrive to the ME desk until I was done and walking out of line. This amused DH greatly. I promised him I would include this little tidbit. So there you go.
Anyhoo....I beelined it to the check in desk at Pop while DH wrangled with our carry on luggage. I was the first one in line at Pop and don't really remember anyone behind me. This leads me to think our bus was making another stop at a different resort but who knows.
The nice lady at Check In told me our room was ready and pulled out the handy dandy Pop Map to show me our room.....
In the 50's section!! I was so excited, this is where I wanted to stay even though I didn't request it. I decided to go with the flow and I was rewarded with the fabulous 50's! Our room was very close to Classic Hall. Room 1222. Second Floor, King Size Bed. Sweet! The only thing we did not like about this room was the shower set up. The bathroom was set up as a handicap bathroom. Which was nice and roomy BUT the shower curtain was too short and since there was no shower/tub to gather the water, when we showered the floor was SOAKED. We went through so many towels and no matter what we tried to do, the floor was soaked after every shower.
Here's our room.

There was a mini fridge in that cabinet near the TV.
http://i59.photobucket.com/albums/g305/lallie23/Disney%202008/IMG_0358.jpg
After we checked out the room we were both starving so we headed over to Everything Pop for lunch. Before we had lunch I went to the Concierge Desk to get a print out of my ADR's. Famous. Last. Words. She handed me a print out of THREE ADR's! THREE! I started to freak. They had Crystal Palace, Liberty Tree Tavern and Kona Cafe on the list. No Cinderella's Royal Table! I almost had to be revived. I politely said to the nice CM that I had all of the confirmation numbers and could you please check again. It seems they had spelled my last name wrong when I made some of the ADR's. Phew. Crisis averted. I could eat lunch now.
Lunch was very good! I was pleasantly surprised. We both had Double Bacon Cheeseburgers with Fries, Soda and Tie Dyed Cheesecake.
http://i59.photobucket.com/albums/g305/lallie23/Disney%202008/IMG_0359.jpg
http://i59.photobucket.com/albums/g305/lallie23/Disney%202008/IMG_0360.jpg
Honestly, I was shocked at how good the burgers were. Usually when you get a burger at a fast food place like a food court, it's dry. Not these, so good and moist. The Tie Dyed Cheesecake was good but weird to eat, it looks like play-dough. DH enjoyed his burger as well. The fries were good too.
After we finished eating, we headed back to our room and I had a missed call from Crissy (If U Had Wings). We played phone tag for a bit and finally touched base. She was at Epcot as planned, so DH and I headed to the buses so we could catch up with her.
It had stopped raining by then, it was SO humid. Blech. I was really worried by the cloudy skies but Crissy had told me it had stopped raining at Epcot so we forged onward. We waited about 25 minutes for the Epcot Bus to come and then two power scooter things had to load. What a long annoying process! I understand that people need them but there has got to be a better way to get them to and from the park, like their own transportation! :thumbsup2 The bus was super crowded but we were able to get seats. While waiting for the bus we had tried to get an ADR for a World Showcase restaurant since it was rainy and it would kill some time before Illuminations. No luck, all they had was Les Chefs and Bistro de Paris. Seeing as we would have to pay out of pocked for this meal, those were a little pricey and we passed.
Finally the bus arrives at Epcot.....
Does the rain stay away?
What doesn't make it inside Epcot with us?
Do we snag a WS ADR?
