Does anyone know what the difference is between a CTMH consultant and a hobbyist? I was at a crop the other day and someone asked one of the consultants if she was a consultant or a hobbyist? She said that when she started, she had only planned on being a hobbyist, but she had two people sign on with her, so she ended up becoming a consultant. I wanted to ask her what she meant, but I don't know her very well, and was afraid that I would get a big sales pitch to become a consultant. Does anyone know the difference?

My sister is a consultant for CTMH, so I think the answer is... A consultant must meet a $300 sales quota per quarter, and they earn a 20% commission on their sales. If you do not meet the quarterly minimums, you can be a hobbiest and meet a smaller quota (not sure the exact amount) and I think you only earn a 10% commission.

I'm a consultant but am considered a hobbyist. I do meet my quota's every qtr but I don't treat it as a business. I have a group of people that order from me, I hold workshops and crops, but I don't actively pursue getting downlines (people to sign up under me). I mainly am a consultant to get the discount and free stuff for my own hobby. I don't try to live off of the income. If you don't meet the quota, you drop to Jr. Consultant and you only get 10% discount. Hobbyist is just a term to describe what you want out of the business.

Thanks for the information. I'm not interested in having any downlines, but I love the CTMH line...I just don't know if it would be worth it for a 10% discount. Thanks so much for the information! :)

Hi there,

just to chime in here. You don't have to have a downline, if you know that you will spend $300 over the span of a quarter, you will collect 22% of your purchases. If not, then you will drop down to the 10%. Besides that as a consultant you can also buy certain items in bulk, there are some other perks ... you may want to ask your consultant about some of those. If you can't get a hold of her you can email some of us.

I have been making it my business (I've been with them now for almost 15 years) and love it :).
