Ideas needed for my Wedding Scrapbook...

Hello!

I'm working on my wedding :bride: scrapbook, and I'd like to incorporate the ceremony into the pages. For example, the layout of my mother doing the reading, I'd like the actual reading on the page. And for the photos of us doing the sand ceremony, I want to figure out a way to get the words on there.

It'll probably be a lot of text, but I want it remembered. Printed from Word there are 4 pages. I definitely want my mom's reading, the sand cerenony words, and our vows.

It's a 12x12 book, and I'd like to find a way to make it look really nice and flow together. I don't want to end up printing it on white paper and gluing it down! :confused3

Any ideas anyone? Links to photos of layouts with lots of text would be appreciated as well!

How about printing it on vellum and overlaying some "background" photos and cutting out a space for the photo of your mum? I've seen it done in a scrapbook mag.

I too wanted the readings and the song lyrics for the first dance, bridal party dance, etc included because I figured I chose them for a reason -they should be included too.

What I did was print the lyrics onto vellum, then attached them with brads to a white roses patterned paper, then matted the whole thing with the same cardstock I matted the pictures in. I did the same thing for the titles. So for example, one page was "First Reading", with that as a topper, a photo of the reader, and the reading itself on the page.

I really love having all those passages/songs in there. It really adds to the "story" of the wedding.

I would take a photo to show you, but my scrapbooks are currently packed away for safe-keeping because we're having some work done. After work I'll check and see if that one is in an easy-to-get-to box - if so I'll pull it out.

You both suggested printing on vellum...how do I do that? My printer won't fit a 12x12 sheet of paper. I'm not too skilled with the technical side of scrapbooking, but I'm eager to learn more!! :goodvibes

I have used vellum as an overlay in a lot of layouts. One that had a lot of text was my DD birth story in her babay book. I wrote the text in Word and printed on 8 1/2 by 11. I then used vellum tape to adhere. I wouldn't recommend the vellum tape. It has since yellowed and I am going to have to redo the page. I would recommend the brads. Here is a picture.

I went and looked and the box is too deep to get to right now. In about a week I can show you!

I used 8.5x11 vellum, as disneynut did. I got a value pack of 25 or so sheets at AC Moore since I knew I would be using a lot.

I've never had any problem printing vellum on my printer just on regular settings, but some people mention that they get smudges when they do. If that happens, you can try setting the printer to the "transparency" setting.

I love vellum - the trick is adhering it. I agree with disneynut that vellum tape is not very good - I must have tried every brand there is and none of them are "invisible." The alternative to brads (or eyelets) is to hide the adhesive behind something else - like ribbon, or a flower or some other decorative element if that works for your overall design.

Whenever I use vellum ( I also recommend it) I use xyron. Since it is consistent throughout the whole vellum piece you cant "see" it. I will try and hunt down a page where I did what you are thinking about, but for now I have this one uploaded. It is a very simple page. It is not a full page of vellum, but a good example of the lack of lines behind the vellum from the adhesive.
