OPEN THEM UP!!! wait till you see how great they all are!
don't worry about the dc. i did it for myself more than anything. it gave me piece of mind!

I put my Disney one together today (finally got the rolodexes)... :lovestruc These are really AMAZING!! The little wire holder looks great!

DS20 was with me when I bought 3 of them... "3 Mom?!?" I tried to explain them, but he just wasn't getting it... so I showed him today. I think I might give one to his GF. She likes handmade things, there is something of mine in there.

Really everyone, these are way over the top! :goodvibes

Yup, I get tried of calling her to remind her when the kids' birthdays are... and it's not that she is really old...she isn't... it just isn't her cup of tea to focus on the family... it's she likes to focus on her world... :( Enough said about that.. another reason I spend more time w/ my kids, moved away and chose to raise my kids entirely the opposite of my up-bringing and DH's!

What I did with the Bazzil swap pieces was sort them into color groups (red, blue, green, brown, black, pink, purple, orange, grey, white). I have them stored in a small box and when I need to find out what color a piece of cardstock is so that I can order more, I just pull that color group out of the box and flip through those cards until I find the match. It's worked great for me and I so love having this swap. I've used it a lot recently since I now have to order my cardstock online now that my LSS has closed.

Sorry I'm lagging. We've not had a chance to go to the Post Office to pick up our mail yet. We're planning to try to get there this evening but it may be Saturday. I'll let you know as soon as I get them. I'm dying to see these! I know it's going to be hard to decide which to give as gifts.

Sorry, Holly! Yes, I picked them up in the mail on Saturday and sat down with all of them on Sunday. They are all gorgeous! I had to enlist DH's help to sort through them to find a set to keep and ones to give. It was a series of very hard decisions!

Holly, you were a great hostess and this was a wonderful swap!!! I'm forcing myself to part with 2 of my sets (it's hard to do so, though!). One of those sets (a Disney one) I've given to my bff and she absolutely loved it. She flipped through it multiple times while we were together asking me who made what. She thought it was awesome! My MIL is getting a general set and she will love it as well. I made sure they only went to people who would appreciate them.

thanks girls! i also put a set together for ds teacher. but they had a snow day on their last day before vacation. so she will get it after christmas. what did you guys do the the cards in between? did you just leave the rolodex cards in there?
it is hard to part with them. we have inlaws tonight and i'm debating over giving a set to my sil. she might not appreciate it. i made her a bday card and she was like "ya thanks". so people don't get the whole paper crafting thing. :scared1: i know hard to believe right!?

DisneyIsTerrific
12-24-2008, 04:55 AM
For inbetween the rolodex cards, I used paper that matched the divider card in front of it and cut them down to a bit smaller than the divider. I put in 6 blank pages per month. It looked pretty!

I know what you mean about some not appreciating the paper crafting thing. I'm very careful now who I give my handmade creations to.

Thanks Stephanie. That's what I thought I was going to do. Now I'm kinda glad that ds had the snow day.

I don't "waste" pc stuff on those who don't appreciate it either;) I just used the rolodex cards, but I've not put anything in yet - I did the "a" addresses and that finished my hand off. Its such a pain:headache: I want to get it all done and pretty on my side table instead of a pile of crumby old address books.

For my inbetween I used the same paper through out. It has different colored lines on a neutral background. I only put in two pages behind each one. One for birthdays and one for anniversaries & holidays. I used the really tiny rolodexes and didn't want them to fall over to the front without being put that way on purpose.

You were a great hostess Holly!
