Is anyone out there available to post about the conditions at HHI during the storm Hanna? Hope all is well!

We're on HHead right now, not at the Disney resort. There was no damage last night; we had a lot of rain yesterday afternoon; and it's a picture perfect morning on the island right now. I am anxious to go to the beach a little later, however. That's been the most interesting thing as the storm approached - the waves, the change in the color of the water, the different behavior of the dolphins.

Thanks for the update SusieBea. Glad to hear HH missed most of Hanna. Would love to see pics if you have any.

A minor tropical storm like Hanna won't cause anything more than a rainy windy day. It's not strong enough to cause any destruction, and I doubt any flooding on HHI.

and it looks like HH was on the south side of the storm so that means it received even less of a punch. Glad all is good there!

Be aware that the ground on HHI south of Broad Creek (the river that the resort is on) is no more than 4 feet above sea level. A 5 foot storm surge at high tide would totally cover that part of the island.

They don't call it the Low Country for nothing!
