It's okay. I figured you were busy. We have all the hotel and park ticket info we need. We just need the DP info, but we're not sure if we'll get it or not considering the Food & Wine Fest will be readily available. ;)

I signed up 2 weeks ago for a planning dvd, so I think that is how my name got on the list.....might want to try it if yo uare staying in WDW and are plannign on the DP!
Enjoy your trip!

Likewise! I'll be staying at the Poly the last week of October. Turning down free food is hard for me to do if it becomes available. Old habits die hard.

Ugh, I hope not. :sad2: No offense to those out there that find FD to be a deal, but I keep hearing reports of food quality decline because of FD and I know that it has been slipping since the DDP was first implemented. I am hoping that they don't offer FD during our stay. We are paying OOP for our food and would prefer to know that Disney hasn't cut the quality of the food to be able to control the bottom line, yet again.
I would much rather see a general public room only code come out.

Really! wow this may make me change our plans, we were going to go in january............and hubby just said last night why not after thanksgiving like last year, ( he's a big kid and loves the xmas decor......me too) LOL
anyway, if there really is free dining i won't be able to convince him not to go then:rotfl2:

I believe that the package discount that already available may actually save you more money during that time than what FD would. You should go do some number crunching.

package discount during november? or january?
i didn't number crunch november til i thought about it after he said it.........now i need to.
i didn't find any discount in january except for AAA discount.
15% off deluxe rooms 20% off mods.
we want to do Beach Club this time, but now I hear Stormalong Bay may be closed for rehab in January.................. if so we will go back to Poly.
But now I need to rethink November, if there is a significant savings package.

Some people at some resorts were saving as much as 40% off with the current discount. I am sure that you are familiar with mousesavers.com, but the deal is readily available on Disney's website.
The current deal is only good though mid-December. AAA is the only discount currently available for January.
Our December room at CR is booked with a AAA discount. Oddly, the package code didn't save us anymore on the room than AAA would have. Since we already have tickets, it's not really necessary for us to do a package deal. My MIL is using a combo of AAA and the FL resident discount. The FL discount was great, it was $60 off a night on a Garden Wing room. We number crunched the Poly, which I think was about 30% off, but it was too expensive for my MIL. She is paying half of her room and we are paying the other half. We bought her park ticket and her MVMCP ticket.
The problem with the code that is out there at this point is availability. The week of the 14th is where the most availability remains. Good luck!

I'm going to look more into the discount dining options you guys are talking about. 15% off for Deluxe Resort guests is still an improvement over no discount. I'm also trying to figure out if the DDP is available if you don't book a "Magic Your Way" package.
No!

The DDP is only available with the MYW packages, unless you are a DVC owner and using your points for your stay. A MYW package requires at least a one day park ticket purchase.
Just remember, if you change to a package booking, the entire balance for the room, tickets, and dining would have to be paid for 45 days in advance of your stay and if you have to cancel or reschedule there could be penalties.
Honestly, we have usually find the purchase of AAA to be the best money saver on our Disney vacations. It's cheap and offers other benefits year round. The downside is that if we want to book a MYW package, we have to use a AAA travel agent and our local AAA office stinks. However, using the room only discount is just a quick call to Disney to check availability.

I've gotten discount offers through Priceline for park tickets after having purchaced my flight ticket with them. (They've changed my flight itinerary 8 times so far, but that's a whoooole other story I won't get into.) 15% off of the regular price isn't too bad of a deal, is it? I don't have AAA any more, otherwise I'd probably use them.
As for the DDP, we'll probably just skip it. With the exception of the reservation we have at Narcoosee's, we probably won't be going to any expensive places. Plus the Food & Wine Fest will be going on and I'm sure I'll be gaining 50 pounds with that alone. :rolleyes1

When Corey lived in FL, yes, she did get her tickets via AAA. In the case of the tickets for our upcoming trip, they are leftovers from last year. We bought fully loaded 10 day tickets that didn't expire, since we knew that we would not be able to get back until later in 2008. My MIL's ticket is the leftover from another 10 day hopper that I bought during my April solo trip. There will be one remaining day of park admission on that ticket at the end of the trip. We will have 9 waterpark & more admissions left on our tickets. With the approaching demise of PI, we will have waterpark admission for many, many years to come.
