Hi! Hope all of our ladies in the paths of hurricanes are doing well! :wizard:

I am watching a TV show right now about extreme thrill rides. These people are being taken up into a 200 foot tower and then the floor opens up and they fall over 100 feet into a net below :scared1: They don't use a bungee cord or parachute or anything :scared1:  I am getting scraded just thinking about it!

Travel's channel's website's trip a month sweekstakes is for a four year DVC membership this month, so anyone interested might want to sign up!

We have our town festival this weeked, and my fiance is the chairman, so I have to go help him out later. I would rather just stay out of his way. He is being  :headache: :rolleyes1

See ya later!

Morning ~ I am so glad it is Friday!

Dawn~ Are those Kingdom Keeper books good for a 6 yo? DS loves to be read to and I have read him Narnia and a few other chapter books. It sounds like a fun book to read! You bringing DIS to work reminds me of when I use to sub for a friend who's DH worked for Disney and she gave her kids real Disney dollars for reading, good test scores, ect..... Every so often she had a store that they could buy Disney stuff from, she gets WDW stuff like way discounted from a sale WDW has for employees and she racks up! She also takes her whole class to WDW and the most improved student wins ticket for the whole family. You bet those parents are involved! The coolest thing is the year I was subbing so much for her the kids who were really good student and had a easier time helped out the ones that were struggling, they were almost rooting them on and wanting to help them do their best so they could win the tickets. The kids love it and her kids had the best scores on FCAT test! Her class room is so cool, she has a reading area with beanbag chairs, love seat, and a few arm chairs! Sorry to babble on, she is just so awsome and I love to tell people about her!

Chan~ When you get done with your laundry you can come down here and do mine! Ughh! I swear I want two washers and dryers! I do two loads a day and I swear the mountain in the laundry room never goes down. I have tried to convince DH to use his bath towel once but he is stubborn. My kids just get so dirty and sweaty outside that we have to change clothes and then at night when we do bike rides we all get sweaty again. Add bath towels and other stuff and it never ends! I feel like it is ground hog day when i step into my laundry room! The good thing is I feel like a robot and go on auto pilot with my routine, I don't even measure the detergent anymore, I have it on a shelf over my washer and I just push the button and know when i have enough!

Hey, Mandy....I am trying to leave this computer...LOL...the Kingdom Keepers is just a novel. It's not really for little kids...there is some scary stuff. It's for probably 10 and up. Even adults enjoy it a lot. I need to read Lucy's copy. ShE LOVED IT...coudln't put it down LOVE it.

No...laundry is not my forte. It ain't happening......*sorry*!:rotfl:

I was awake at 4:30 am this morning. I am tossing and turning and having a lot of qualms about taking this October trip. I kind of don't care but on the other hand I really do! I feel like I was kind of just there. BUt then I talked to my GF CM friend and that really makes me want to go....I hear the band in teh background, want to visit with her, see the sights...the Halloween party....meet a couple Dissers and an Ebay friend I have been an email friend with for over a year! I don't want to disappoint anybody, but hen again I think I am the one that really wants to go. I feel guilty about DH not going...even though he doesn't act like he minds...I DO. I feel like maybe taking DD out of 7th grade might not be the right choice...she'll miss 5 days. She is in honors classes and has anywhere from 2 to 5 hrs homework each night and tha tdoesn't include her French Horn practice....ugh I can cancel easily. THat's not a biggie...I am just not feeling right about it at this time. Maybe I will feel differently next week. That's part of my issue.

Oh well........

Time to walk!

Talk to ya all later!! Hope to see more pics.

Chan

I've had days like you're having today.....no time to do much of anything . Just keep thinking it's FRIDAY AND IT'S THE WEEKEND !!!!

And I'm sorry you're having second thoughts about your trip . There's times I get all excited from the time I book until about 2-3 weeks before we are to leave and then I start freaking out thinking we shouldn't go . I don't know if it's just anxiety or what......but I just start worrying about everything and anything and keep getting all worked up about it . But I'm always excited when I'm on my way to the airport knowing I'll be in Disney soon . But I must say....I've never gone without DH or my kids.....so I really can't help there . As far as your DD missing school.....not sure if it will help....but the last 2 years we went in September and my 2 DSs missed 6 days both years and they did fine. They weren't in honors classes, but the first year one was 6th grade the other 7th....then last year it was 7th and 8th. I know all kids are different, but I'm sure she's a great student and she'll do fine . I wouldn't make any decisions yet.....play it by ear and see how you feel in the coming weeks . Just have a great weekend and try not to think about it too much and see if your feelings change . I'm sure you'll have a fabulous time once you're there .

Well....better get back to more cleaning....I'm almost done .

Deb

THANKS, Deb!! I get really moody. I am just in a nervous mood...and then I don't remember when they take the ISAT tests.....If it's that week I am up the creek.

Talk to ya all later!! I am MOVING on NOW!:goodvibes

Chan I saw your post about your trip torment! I hate that you are feeling uneasy! :guilty:

If it is something that is gonna cause you stress and make it difficult for your kids in school then I would be uneasy too. You have to do what is best for YOU and don't worry about disappointing your DIS or eBay friends. Friends understand these type of things! :goodvibes

Good luck making your decision! :flower3:

Um if I told you to go take some drugs from that pain would you give me the trip? LOL! :rotfl:

Seriously sorry you are in pain. My DH back goes out every now and then and he has to see a chiropractor, I was skeptical till I messed up my back and the chiropractor worked wonders!

M&P- Hope you are better soon! I was up all night sick last night and it really stinks. This weather change has not been good for anyone.

Channing~ Well....I wish I knew what to tell you. These types of decisions are sooo hard. What about Thanksgiving?? Leave the day after Christmas and enjoy New Years so you would not have to take them out of school?? I would probably just rest on it a few days and see what happens. I am sure everyone would love to see you but would understand your situation. Let us know what you find out.:flower3:

HEY, EVERYONE ...I made it over :cool1: :cool1:!!!! Annette...YAY on the new thread  !!!!!

Chan - I would find out when the testing is scheduled so you can maybe put your mind at ease as far as that goes :confused3. Not to freak you out anymore....but I've been through the "vacation during testing week" and it's not fun :headache:. We do ISTEP testing and last year they changed it from 1 week of testing to 2 WEEKS of testing . And wouldn't ya know.....the 2nd week was while we were gone :furious:. The principal worked it out and got my 2 tested, but it was one hectic week :scared1:........but knowing I was going to Disney the following week sure helped me get through it :goodvibes. But I would see when that is to take place and go from there ;). As far as the make up work from missing 5 days.....I'm sure DD can handle it :). But I do understand your concern and worry.....it's alot when they get up into MS and HS. I'll have 2 in HS next year so our vacations will probably go back to summer or around school breaks so they miss the least amount of days possible....because it gets too hard when they get to the HS level :rolleyes1.

V - Hope you're feeling better today :flower3:. And you're right about this crazy weather....not good for anybody :sad2:.

Hi, Mandy and m&p :wave2: m&p....hope your back starts feeling better.

Kelly - Feeling better I hope :flower3:.

irisbud - I've seen shows like that....all I can say is NEVER IN A MILLION YEARS :rotfl2: :rotfl2:. Those people are crazy :rotfl: :rotfl:!!!!

Hey guys Just wanted to let you know my dad will be having surgery on Monday.

I need to get busy b/c I need to prep the house for the hurricane and pack the kids up to go to my g-mas PLUS I need to pack for the trip to the hospital 3 hrs away. My wonderful DH has taken time off work and is trying to keep me calm, but i keep asking why we cant go to WDW Saturday and he is trying to gently remind me we are the adults and cant blow off the responsibilities we have to take care the next few days!

I just need to escape to my happy place!

Hi Everyone:flower3:

To all who are not feeling well  , hope you're better for the w/e! Been swamped with cleaning and laundry all day! I also feel like there is no catching up with it! :headache:

Channing - Thanks for the invite to the NEW thread. I'm sorry you are torn about whether or not to take your October trip - that's a tough one. How does DD feel about missing school - does it make her anxious? I hope you can come to a decision you are comfortable with soon and not have to go back-and-forth about it - sometimes that is more frustrating than anything else. 0I am so guilty of that, as I am way too indecisive at times and moody too!! Hang in there! :)

Mandy - My prayers go out to you and your family. Stay safe and best wishes to your Dad for a quick recovery from surgery.

DAuntBlueSkies - You must be busy at work today - no posts!

I am officially done with summer and ready for fall!

Hi to everyone

I finished my first of 1 million books last night :goodvibes It was OK, but I couldn't get into the characters (they fought too much!! :rotfl2: ) I will start a new on Monday (still sticking with the Liz Thorton's though)

My peanut butter decandance is still in the fridge- DH tried it but didn't care for it (he doesn't have the sweet tooth that I do  ). I am sure I will take a nibble in the not so distant future :rolleyes1

I should be cleaning, but popped in real quick to say hi. If I don't make it back, have a GREAT weekend everyone!!

Go White Sox!!!!!!!!!! (1.5 game lead again  )

Go White Sox!!!!!!!!!! (1.5 game lead again  )

I agree GO WHITE SOX!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I've been a bandwagon fan since I was born in NW Indiana and was brought up a Cubs fan but my dh has NONE of that in this house. He was born and raised on the southside and he absolutely HATES the cubs about as much as he hates the Notre Dame fighting Irish (he moved to NW Indiana as a teenager and when you live within miles of south bend its pretty much down your throat...never bothered me any though :confused3 )
I didn't realize the Sox were back to 1.5 game lead though :yay: :yay: They had been horrendous as of late losing 2-3 to BoSox until Ozzie hammered down and told them they needed one...lucky for them the twins have been losing too :yay: :yay:

Nice pictures of the cookies...YUM!

Nice pictures of GF...I'll ride in Cindy's carriage please :)

Another busy day here and not much time. I HAVE to do laundry, clean floors, and clean my kitchen cabinets. I also need a nap but I don't think I'll be able to squeeze that in too :( Hope everyone has a great weekend.

"cubs" is a 4 letter word in our house ;) DH just called and said that when the Bos Sox hit our beloved Carlos Quentin the last time :sad1: that it actually broke his wrist. He is having surgery on Monday and is probably out for the season/post season. (For those of you non fans, he is the American League Homerun Leader so this is a BIG loss).

Thanks to all on the comments on my baking. I love to do it  The watermelon cake looked better than it tasted though :rotfl: You use a regular white cake mix, but add a packet of cherry kool aid to get the color. The seeds are mini chocolate chips. That combo just didn't taste good to me (but my family enjoyed it at the BBQ!)

The cookies were NOT my best effort. I cheated by using tube dough and it didn't hold its shape AT ALL!!! :confused3 And for whatever reason my royal icing was changing colors as I thinned it (that has NEVER happened to me before). But DS loved it so that is all that matters.

Stay tuned for more- I am thinking Soccer themed cookie pops next week

Yeah I just read that online...I couldn't believe it :scared1: That's a HUGE blow to the team and in a tight pennant race they REALLY REALLY needed him down the stretch. The new ADR system has been delayed to November 21, 2008. I think it was supposed to ready to go late October.

Staples was actually not too bad, it looked like a boom hit it. I even found everything I needed, including the $115 calculator my DS needs for Algebra.:scared1:

OMG What kind of calculator costs $115....it should calculate and tutor too...
I think the calculator I use was about $4:rotfl: much less sophisticated than your sons:)

Here's me, broken computer, finally steal one from the teens and I can't find you guys...thanks ... LOL!!! I feel like the unwanted Cinderella of the bunch....Cinderella Sheli.

Just kidding! I am glad to have found home again.

Speaking of home: every time we got back to the GF the CM's would say "Welcome home" so my 3yo decided to go back to daycare this week and tell them all her new house is at Disney and that we are just VISITING here (our actual home.) She further has taken to calling the house "The Camp" because "home/gf" is so much nicer than "home/maine" I have a hard time not bursting into hysterical laughter as she continues telling people (any people who will listnen) all about her new home!!

Of course this is the child who insists that our old house was a cave...like true caveman style cave. Gotta love 3yo's.

Hey, all!!! Finally settled in for the night!!! We had a late soccer game and then I went to Costco thinking I'd buy DS an IPOD Touch for his bday. Um...no. Not happenin'. The 16 gb or mg or mb whatever was almost $400 ad that was the cheaper. He has a nano.....I wanted to get him something kinda cool for #18 but I am not that cool.

Annette, My son had to have that calculator a few yrs ago, too. Jeeze...I hope he still has it.:rotfl: :headache: We were thinking what a dumb butt purchase...he'd lose it FAST and also in college it's all done on a computer anyway. When I bought HIS it was $130 3 or 4 yrs ago.:rolleyes1 But I bet it was the same one....you got a deal!:rotfl: :thumbsup2

Dawn...:rotfl: :rotfl2: :rotfl: Is all I can say. LIterally laughed out loud. You kill me you sweet thing. :worship: :worship: It's just all bottled up isn't it?!

Mandy..I am so glad it's not chicken pox and you will be able to be thre for your dad. We'll be thinking of you on Monday. AND good luck with the storms headed your way. I hope it blows by easy.

Deb....laundry isn't moving. I was out most of the day - it was crazy busy today. :rolleyes1 YEP...TGIF is right.

Happy night all!

OK, so the Red Sox didn't break his wrist (sorry Kel!!!!!!!) Apprantly the dumby was mad when he struck out against Cleveland and went to slap his hand at the bat in frustration and did it :sad2:

And now Minnesota is back home against the lowly Tigers :headache:

I thought they said on the news that from being hit twice that's what did it (he had been hit once and then a week later against bosox they hit him again :confused3 ). I saw him hit his hand on the bat...then he cleared up the rumor that said he hit his hand against a wall and that's what did it. Who knows...at least they took it to the Angels tonight :cool1: :cool1: :cool1:

I just read that bed bug thread!!! EEEWWWW....

I'm itching just thinking about it:scared1:

I guess that the only thing that you can do is to check the bedding and other areas in the room before settling in...

And I thought people were going overboard cleaning theirs rooms before staying in them:confused:

I guess it can happen anywhere:sad2: Lets hope not at the GF:)

UGH I was telling dh about it and he's like WHAT??? I said you have to go in and inspect the room if I see bugs we'll hop right back in that van and drive home :rotfl: He said, "I don't think so" :rotfl: I haven't come across any threads about GF so crossing my fingers that isn't an issue there. I know I'm going to be trying to go bed at night thinking about bed bugs...EWWWWW!
Ok so did you see the OP's latest post? She went in and INSPECTED her bed/room etc and all was clear. Then 3 nights later one landed on her while sleeping and she jumped up and turned on the lights. She said the manager told her the mousekeepers are trained to inspect the beds every few weeks for signs of bedbugs so they keep a handle on any infestation. UGH...what is a person to do? You do all you can by inspecting and still end up with bugs...if it wasn't such a phobia of mine to sleep on hotel sheets I don't think I'd be this crazy about it but this is seriously putting a damper on my excitement. YIKES!

Good Morning. Very gloomy morning here. The center of Hannah is right beside me. I'm a little to the west of it, but I've have already gotten 5 1/2 inches of rain and it is expected to rain for several more hours. The good thing is since I'm on the west side of the storm, the winds aren't too bad. Someone asked about the ADR system, you can make them up to February 22nd now. I made mine last weekend for my February Land/Sea cruise. Hope everyone on the east coast stays safe, Hannah is quickly coming up your way. - Lisa.

Tinker*Shell I like your DD ideas:rotfl: She sure picked a great place to call home :thumbsup2

Channing & Deb We always took out kids out of school for our Disney vacations UNTIL HS...
After that we would look at the school calendar and whenever they had an xtra day or two off we'd make that the vacation ( only down side the trips were only 4-5 days long-but better than nothing...)

Chan as much as I love WDW I always have pre trip second thoughts....I forget about them as soon as the plane touches down in FLa:)

We wanted a longer trip this year and decided on August...IMO just too hot...(not to mention the storm anxiety)
We much prefer Oct/Nov or early Dec (epecially with the holiday decor etc)

BTW when we went to MK the day before we left in Aug the MK was decorated for Halloween...it looked great but...just a little too early:confused3

Next year everyone will be in college~maybe time for a solo trip for mom;)

Skjj just read the rest of the bug thread:headache: ....dont let it ruin your trip anticipation...just think of all the room that dont have bugs...:)

No rest for the weary I need to get back to the :laundy: today... if I ever catch up I'll let you know what the trick is:rotfl:

Good Morning All!!! Hope all of you are enjoying your weekend :).

I was so Disneyed out when we got back but I getting that itch again!! I know its not going to be until next July, but I think I am going to call and book this weekend. It makes feel like its official!!

I starting to wonder about the new ADR system!! Wouldn't that be great to do it yourself on line!!!

Annette

July really isn't that far away....it will be here in no time :cool1:. But I know what you mean about getting it booked.....makes it more "official" once you have something in place :goodvibes. I watch my ticker daily just waiting for it to go down another month :rotfl:.

I would LOVE to be able to make ADRs online....that would be awesome!!!!! That way it can be done any time day or night.

That's where I'm at now......I have one in 8th and one in HS......we were booked to leave 9/25 for 8 nights but changed it due to DS in HS.....just too much for him to miss 6 days of school....especially right at the beginning of the year :sad2:. We too prefer Oct/Nov and any time in Dec :santa:......but summers will probably be it for the next few years. But although it's HOT....we spend so much more time at the resort since we go so often, that we will be enjoying the heat while at the pool....so it won't be too bad ;). And I agree with the decor.....way too early . But it is pretty :).

Good day all :). It's nice and sunny here today :sunny: but they are forecasting rain for Mon/Tues :umbrella:. So everyone enjoy the nice weather while it's here. I'll be checking in throughout the day in between laundry loads and ironing....Chan....get busy on that laundry :rotfl:.

Doesn't it stink??? I actually homeschooled for 4 years :scared1: and did I get used to that (no school "rules" about missing days)......that's when we started going in Oct/Nov/Dec without any worry about the boys missing school....especially since I was the principal/teacher :rotfl: :rotfl:. But that was just something I did temporarily due to some issues we had at the elementary school that had no solution in sight :sad2:. And I knew it was only temporary since kids need to be around other kids daily and I knew I would have a tough time getting through ms schooling them let alone hs :scared1:. So once each of them hit the ms level (6th grade), they went back and have been doing great ever since :).....so I guess I did something right those 4 years . But it gets tougher each year to take them out once they get to a certain grade level :scared:.

I'm real curious to find out how online ADRs will work . I haven't got definite places yet.....still thinking about that . Morning guys and gals!!

:laundy: :laundy: I hate this stuff. I do not mind putting in the dryer but I am not good at folding and putting it away. I have clothes on every bed right now staring at me wanting to get put in the drawers. I wish I could hire someone just to do the laundry and I would do the rest.

I would LOVE  to see more pictures.

Mandy~ I hope all goes well with your dad's surgery. Keep us posted. Have you heard anymore from B??

Well~ as many of you know I am heading to the GF for Christmas and was changing to GV to save the money but I have a deluxe room in RPC reserved. MY TA knows I am a compuslive reservation changer so we decided to keep this room until I definately decide. I did email IPO and did a room request for room 4420. He got right back to me and said he would definately try. I think this is an octagon room right by the lounge...is that right?? I have decided just to give my TA my cc number and just tell her to surprise me. I just do not know what to do :confused3 . I wish a code would come out for our days but I know I am dreamin. I looked up ressies for the time over Christmas and a lot of the resorts still have a lot of availability. New Years seems booked but Christmas does not...so I guess I can still dream.

Anyway- it is a beautiful day in Central IL. We roasted hot dogs and made smores by the fire pit last night. It was just an awesome evening. Glad I did not go to Chicago...especially since I felt so crappy the last two days.

Channing- The tickets my friends had were $48.00. I just talked to them and they said the seats were very good and they loved Wicked. I do not think I would pay for the real expensive ones. I will get an exact location for you.

Hope everyone has a nice day!:flower3:

Good morning, Friends!:goodvibes (OMG...that sounds Amish:rotfl: )

SHeli!! How did I miss your post about Em having a new "home" yesterday?:rotfl2: I am with her. Everytime I stay at the GF I think....I WANNA LIVE HERE!:rolleyes1 I love that place. It is so funny becasue I am a mega homebody and I love my home, too...and they are 180 different.:rotfl: For me, it's the being waited on, no cooking, no laundry, etc...I think - that makes it so fabulous.

Dawn! I am kinda with ya on the year round schooling. It makes sense when you think about it. I am glad it's nice out today. First soccer game! YOU would NOT believe the little ***** we played in a scrimmage last night....they were like HOCKEY PLAYING little 3rd grade girls! Body slamming, pushing, elbowing, tripping....UN REAL. Of course our sweet team got trampled...but it was incredible. Those other kids were beasts. Jo got in the car and was all beat up and she was MAD.:rotfl: HOpefully we play a nice team today.

Vanessa, thanks for the Wicked info:thumbsup2 OMG..you are so funny about the GF at Xmas....I can't believe you!!! Seriously are you going to just be surprised?!?! That is a riot.:rotfl2: Yes 4420 is right off the lounge. It's an awesome room - I saw in it - and location. It's very large!! That sounds fun roasting hot dogs and marshmallows!! It has been beautiful weather here.:)

Lisa, sorry about your weather. I am glad Hanna isn't giving you all too much grief though. Hang tight. Hope it passes soon!

Deb...I am nervous about those online ADRs, too....the Disney website is always sucko and broken and it's a wreck. I wonder how well they will be able to handle ADRs online. I am sooo bad with change, too...this whole idea of doing it differently has me kinda spooked.:scared: :rotfl:

Oh!! I can't wait to see more pics! I am shocked the photographer never got back to you! What a bum. I told a CM friend about that idea and they really were excited and thought that would be perfect. I wonder what happened.....:guilty:

So many great restaurants to choose from...have fun planning!!:)

BlueSkies - Narcoossee's (as well Citricos) look good to me but I'm worried about my oldest DS......not willing to try much :sad2:. Now my other DS.......if there's steak (preferably filet ) he's a happy camper....as is DH ;). But my oldest doesn't venture much from cheeseburgers & chicken tenders :rolleyes1. I would love to try those 2 as well as California Grill at the CR but it worries me that he won't find anything to eat at any one of those places :headache:. I know (from experience the last 7 years :rotfl:) that Disney is very accommodating....but I'm a little worried they won't be able to accommodate his pickiness at those more upscale restaurants . So if you can give me an idea of what DS can get at any of those places (any or all of the 3 you've been to), I would be most greatful :). I've also got Yachtsman Steakhouse on the list as a possibility too :goodvibes. There are just too many places that we love or want to try that I can't fit them all in 8 days....so I guess I'll just have to take more than 1 trip a year just to try the restaurants :lmao:.

Chan - I kinda think the online ADRs will be a mess.....just because there's so many problems with the system now...I can't imagine so many people online trying to get the same ressies at the same time :scared1:. It would be neat to be able to just sit at your own computer and make the ressies, but I don't think it will go over too well unless Disney gets a reliable system :rolleyes1.

Blueskies~ I am going to have to check out those fall soaps. I just decorated yesterday for fall with pumpkins and all. LOVE this time of year.

Dawn~ Thanks for the hotel info. Sounds like the flea market was fun. I need to go looking for some mums today.

Channing~ Yep...totally serious about the trip. I go back and forth every day so I am just ready for my TA to surprise me. We are probably only going to be there for 4 nights so I may just stay where I am at. I looked up a lot of info on the Deluxe Rooms over the last few days and they do look so big and roomy. Glad you didn't have any damage from the storm. We only have a few branches to pick up also. Haven't gone down the road yet to see how bad it is, :scared1: but I know we have a lot of work to do on it. We live at the end of a dead end street. There is a dirt road going up to our house and we have a stone driveway. We had a lot of heavy rain this summer and it just couldn't take any more. I can't complain though seeing what the people of Florida and the Gulf Coast are going through. I just can't imagine what it is like to have to evacuate every time a huricaine comes through.

We used to go every two years, but this is the 3rd year that we have gone 2 times a year. No kids in school any more so we can go any time. I love split stays, we are doing a DTD Hilton-Gaylord Palms split in December. Since we are not staying at the GF or the Poly, my second favorite, it almost doesn't seem like a Disney trip. Evening Gals....Well today my mom called and said they were going to the Kane County Flea Market and DH came home heard about it so we dropped everything and met up with them.....It is such a bizzare place..you can buy junk, more junk, fine collectables, mums, fresh produce, more junk! It is fun looking at all the retro stuff peeps have to sell...This is one of the best flea markets in the country!

Now I am going to chill for awhile....Hey Chan hope those gals were a little nicer today! Think about what they will be like in middle school:scared:

Hi, Dawn!! Ya....what about those bratty brutes? At 8:eek: ....I bet they will be evil at 12.:rotfl: We played a much nicer, better sports team yesterday morning....we were tied until the last 10 seconds their ball actually almost "wondered" into our goal!!:scared1: :scared1: It was like WEIRD how that thing found it's way in.:rotfl2: Oh well......it was their first game and first game ever on the larger field. My good friend from across town was there, here dd was on the other team, so we chatted and caught up and made plans for bfast this week.:goodvibes (She's my Branson buddy...and they had a BALL on their trip!! I said to sign me up for next August if they do go again)

That flea market sounds very cool!! I love antiquing and retro stuff!! LOVE IT! If you want to go sometime call me!! Is this the one that's only on like the first weekend of the month? LOL...I've been meaning to go to that one for like 15 years.:rotfl: I need a boost. I always forget.:rotfl: :rolleyes1

Hope you are having a fun weekend!:)

Do a MK resort (GF of course) and Epcot resort split! It is really different being on the two diff sides of the "world". We have done one night and more splits. I have a 3/3 booked for October....but who knows about that at this point.

I love that Mickey soap....doesn't it smell like Sprite? I always think so! YUM......

If I do end up going in October, I will take Basin requests beforehand.

I am glad you East Coast gals weren't too inconvenienced by Hanna. I hope Ike isn't so bad when it arrives....I have to put on the WC and check. OK...I checked...it's a 4 now. I will pray for you all in it's path. Stay safe.:grouphug:

It's DS's bday today...he is 18! I cannot believe it...I remember that whole ordeal 18 yrs ago like it was yesterday.:rotfl:  It was horrible.:rotfl2: HORRIBLE...that's why my next baby was born 6 + yrs later.:rotfl2: We just gave him cash...turned out..good thing...he loves his old ipod!:thumbsup2

Channing~ Happy Birthday to your DS (18! what a lovely age-they know all there is to know about everyting by then:rotfl: )

That split stay is looking better and better...what 3/3split are you doing (I know one half is GF)...I love the new pics of the BC (looks similar to GF I think:) ) But with older kids I'm thinking the Boardwalk would have alot of appeal- not sure:confused3 (I dont really care for that big clowny themed pool:scared1: )

Dawn!! YES...we need to go!! Can you go the beginning of October? I probably can't do Saturday..depends what time we have a soccer game...but this season they seem to hit right in the middle of the day. Sunday would be good!:thumbsup2 I am SERIOUS...I have wanted to go to that flea market for YEARS!!!!!

Blue Skies...LOL....well this time I am doing a Swan/GF RPC split. I have the GF booked the whole week but my kids actually WANT to be over on the Epcot side a few nights. The first night we don't arrive into MCO til midnight...so it's either going to be a 2/4 split or 3/3. Right now I have 3 Swan nights reserved. I don't care for BWI AT ALL...we had a HYSTERICALLY HORRIBLE stay there a couple years ago and NOBODY in this house even wants to try it again.:rotfl2: I love their new room look, though. We just stayed YC in July 5 nights before a week at GF....while we like YC, we basically do it for the pool fun. I don't LOVE it at YC. I don't think with this shorter trip we'd be swimming much so I don't care about paying YC prices for the pool in mid October. I have a Starwood AMex and earn points that I put toward staying at the Swan so that makes sense....we get the Epcot side without the Disney cost.:goodvibes I am not a fan of any of the Epcot resorts too much. I haven't stayed BC in 4 yrs. I prefer YC over BC becasue twice they gave me bum rooms at BC....one time a room with double beds and NO balcony. Another time a room with the small stnading balcony....BOTH times I called down and had our room switched right away but still....another time - i think 2003, there was no coffeemaker in our room and I called to request one and was told NO. WE DON"T HAVE THOSE HERE. Seriously I was told that....so I don't know if that was bull or if that was just their way back then.:confused3 I prefer the Swan to the Disney resorts.....unless we go and want a great pool for Jojo..then it's YC. But if you REALLY want "Disney" the YC is my choice.

OMG...ok was that a confusing mess? *sorry*

Good Afternoon Gals :). Another cool and sunny day today :sunny:. I love having the windows open throughout the house letting all that fresh air in.....much needed change from having the AC on last week ;). Hope everyone is enjoying their weekend :flower3:.

Chan - Happy Birthday to you're DS.....WOW....18....woohoo :bday:. My oldest just turned 15 in June and I can't imagine in 3 years he'll be 18....and starting college that fall :scared1:!!!! I too remember when he was born....but my second one came just 21 months later . But it is nice that they are so close in age.....although once they get into college and get out on their own, I won't have any younger ones left at home :sad1:. Although that might make more time for just DH and I to make more frequent trips to the GF :rotfl:. (notice how I said GF and not just "Disney" :lmao:). That doesn't mean I'm excited or anything about going to the Grand .

BlueSkies - All this talk about the soaps at Basin are making me think I MUST make a stop in there (or 2...or 3 :rotfl:) while we're at the GF in July :cool1:. I'm always looking for different ways to make my house get that great "fall" smell this time of year :goodvibes. And about 18 yo's knowing everything by that age.......you are SO RIGHT.........only my 15 yo has known EVERYTHING for a couple years now :rotfl:.....mom and dad know NOTHING . What a job it is raising teenagers .

To those of you in the path of the hurricanes....stay safe . I hope the storms pass through quickly with little or no major damage :grouphug:.

Kelly - Have fun watching your football/tennis/nascar :happytv:.

Hope everyone has a wonderful Sunday afternoon getting things accomplished or just hanging out relaxing :cloud9:. I've STILL got :laundy: to do......I don't think I'll ever get done :sad2:. Chan??? :rotfl:

I must have slept funny i have the worst muscle pain from my mid back under my shouler back up through my neck and into my head.

lol i remember that age and being asked what i wanted to do for my birthday...my answer was the same...I was like where else would i want to be? now in my old age i sure see that differently

yes exactly! i can't turn my head to the left...everything just tightens up and then i feel the pinch. This is so different than what i usually get which is just a knot under my shoulder blade that is always gone by the 3rd day.

The only thing I found to help the pain was laying flat on my back with one thin flat pillow. Other than that, just time, unfortunately. Ibuprofen didn't help at all.

I had a similar thing happen to me....NOT fun :sad2:. I went to the doctor and he gave me a muscle relaxer....just like you it did NOTHING.....I also took Vicadin....NADA :rolleyes1. He then had me get an MRI since I was still in pain. After reviewing that, he referred me to a spine surgeon :scared1:. After talking to my cousin (an RN) she STRONGLY suggested her chiropractor before seeing a spine surgeon. Low and behold....took my MRI to the chiropractor and he said he could definitely help me :worship:. He had me go 3X a week for the first few weeks......after about 6 visits, I started feeling better....not totally free of pain, but it WAS helping. After a few more visits the pain was lessening even more and in no time I was back to normal :). I know alot of people don't like chiropractors or think they can't do anything, but I can tell you mine DEFINITELY did wonders for me!!!! It took all I had just to drive to his office I was in so much pain.....and he's only about a 15-20 minute drive away.....that's how much pain I was in :headache:. I couldn't sleep, could hardly drive, any way I sat or layed it hurt.....I was in sad shape :scared:. I never really considered a chiropractor before I was referred to one.....but I am sooo thankful for the referral because that's what helped me over surgery ;). Good luck to you and I hope you start feeling better or find a way to fix it because I know how terrible that pain can be :sad2:.

Hey all!!! I am soo full of Chinese food.:rotfl: NObody but Jojo could eat a slice of cake.

Marvel....I have a vibrating heat massager thing...(OK, no wise cracks from the peanut gallery DAWN:rotfl: ) It is a real one for muscle pain. :thumbsup2 I put it on the infrared heat setting, crank up the vibrating heads, and just get it leaned in between me and the back of the sofa or whatever so I can just siiiiittttt comfy for a long time and let it work it's magic. That does help a bit. It FEELS GOOD while it's working and it seems to help break it up and relax the area. Mine happened due to (OK big surprise all - typing - and then I was sleeping funny, too, which added to it. I had an awkward reach to the keyboard and my left shoulder was seeming to stretch funny.:confused3 I noticed now that I am on my laptop more it has been better than using the desktop. ALSO...after Ebaying a lot earlier this week I have that pinched nerve numbness in my left fingers now. ....I had it MUCH worse when the pain was in my neck/shoulder area so this is just a remnant of that....At it's worst it was soo bad I had a hard time positioning myself to sleep in bed! I couldn't get my hair colored because there was NO FRICKEN way I could have it rinsed in the shampoo bowl! THis happened to me last spring and it's just now recently improving. The pain has gone away...that took probably 4 to 6 wks...I don't remember for sure but it was a long time...but the numb pinched nerve thing is just WAITING for any chance to come back. ONce it does go away you have to be careful for a LONG time because it's very delicate it seems.

Happy night, all!! Ibuprophen did not work for me, either...although I did take a lot in trying. The heat/massage thing was the key.

Andrea! Good to see you back! I am sorry...no clue about those ADRs...I am soo bad with keeping up with that stuff. Hopefully somebody can help you.

Chan ~ Don't feel bad about the ADR system because you're not alone......I really don't have any clue as to what's going on with that either :confused3. Since our trip isn't until July and I have to wait until January to make my ADRs, I haven't been up on what's going on at this point . Does anyone know exactly what Disney's doing to the current ADR system???? I've been reading that after this new system (or whatever it is they're doing :rolleyes1) is complete, that we'll be able to make ADRs online.....but I can't say that will be a good thing :scared:. It will be interesting, that's for sure .

Thanks for all the birthday wishes for my DS. I think Chan's DS has a good idea, just movie $ and a GF(that's girlfriend not Grand Floridian)! We could have gone on a Disney Trip for what we spent on new drum stuff. Well not an RPC GF, but at least a week at POP.

I too am clueless about how the new ADR system will work. We can just help each other along, I am sure.

Have a great day everyone!:wizard:

Mandy thinking of your Dad today

Marvel Hope that you are feelig better:)

FeeFee Happy belated birthday to your DS:)

Deb and FeeFee brave women letting your kids play the drums in the house:scared1: (do you have ear plugs..:rotfl: )

Channing I love the thought of being able to make my own ADRs (although IPO is really great about it...)BUT hoping that they'll make the system user friendly....

Andrea glad that you and your family fared well with the last storm...lets hope for the rest of the season to move along quietly....

think I'm running out of space as usual :rotfl:

I called this morning and got a MK VIP tour for December 11th. I requested parade seating, and it was available. Thank you all for the insights. I'm not going to tell my parents, they are going to be so surprised. I told them that DH loves Jasmine, so it will be interesting to see if he gets to meet her. Thanks again, I'm learning so much from these boards - Lisa.

Mandy: Thinking of you today, I hope all goes well!

Channing and FeeFee: Happy belated B-day wishes to your sons:cool1:

Marvel: I have a ton of back problems from training horses. The chiropractor really helps me a lot. I think I am immune to all painkillers, unfortunately. Also, most sorness either responds to heat OR cold. Try each and see which one gives you any relief at all. Sometimes showers and linament help. I used to do a hot shower, linament, wrap the area. It can get REALLY hot though, so be careful.

Well, the festival is over and it was a success, so my DF is pretty much back to his normal level of grouchiness  . He is talking about being the Chairman again next year, though so I am :scared:

I just booked our airfare. $99 each way pp on SW, so I jumped all over it! . Now I have to make more ADRs and change some old ones

Thanks for the boos, Channing and Mandy!

Afternoon All ;). It's a yucky day today....it's been cloudy all morning and it just started raining....looks like it'll be around for awhile :umbrella:.

BlueSkies ~ Call me crazy, but no ear plugs here . If DS isn't playing the drums, he's playing one of his guitars......so (LOUD) music is a regular thing around here :rotfl:. Good thing we get along with our neighbors :rotfl: :rotfl:. I can usually take it, but sometimes I do have to tell him to knock if off as it does get quite loud sometimes :scared1:.

irisbud ~ YAY for the successful festival :thumbsup2. And double YAY for the price on airline tickets :cool1: :cool1:!!!! That's a great price compared to what they've been lately :rolleyes1. Although it's still a ways out, I priced American for our July trip and it came in at $319/pp RT....not as high as I thought they'd be but definitely WAY MORE than we've ever paid to fly to Orlando...and times that by 4 people and it really adds up . Hopefully SWA will be a bit cheaper when they release their July dates........but either way I'm gonna have to pay because driving is NOT an option for us....we'd kill each other before we got out of Indiana :lmao:.

Andrea - last Saturday they started taking February ADR's up to Feb 22nd. We are going the 2nd week of February and I was able to make all the ones that I wanted. Good Luck with yours, it was hard for me to think so quickly, I thought I had more time to plan. I called in such a hurry just to get something in place, I may rethink a few and call back later.

Thanks for the info. Kelly is taking care of it for me! I really had to think on my feet this morning and decide where I wanted to go and when! I usually plan them out for weeks before my 180 day mark, so I had to think fast!!! We are going the 2nd week of Feb too!

They are taking dining til Feb 22, but they have had some issues.

My beloved pats won yesterday but Tom was hurt by some cheeseball already on the ground who flung himself into his leg and knee. They arent sup to go near QBs knees. I am less than thrilled this morning as I was so excited for football to start, I hope he will okay but it isnt looking good.

I saw that :faint: This could be the end of the season for you guys too- such a shame :sad2:

On a much lighter note, our Bears actually beat the Colts!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I was stunned! (and happy!!)

Hey GF friends!

We are set up in the waiting room and have staked out a nice spot! We all have our laptops swet up and look like a bunch if computer nerds LOL!

Andrea~ Just wanted to sy we are feeling very blessed Ike is gonna miss us, prayers for your area!

Gotta go we are putting away our computers and playing Chincken foot (domino game)

Talk to you later....

Best of Luck today Mandy!!!!!!! :grouphug:

Another rainy day today. The landscape company finally came and fixed the mess in my yard/neighbor's yard where the electrical company dug out for a broken power line. They got the new grass seed down before the rain so hopefully it will take root. We were VERY lucky that most of the damage was in our neighbor's yard and not ours :rolleyes1

I am hoping they will cancel soccer tonight due the weather. :wizard:

OK, so this is my 90 day point from the trip. I want to do the cabana for a few hours the AM of the Christmas party, but DH doesn't want to (what if it is too cold yada, yada, yada) What do you think?? Will it be warm enough to swim December 11 :confused3 When we went in December 2006 it was crazy hot, but I know that was not normal...

I am off to read more smut :rotfl: (thanks Chan!!! :thumbsup2 )

K, I agree with Amy. I was there in Dec. '06 and remember how hot it was. It could very easily be warm enough for a cabana!

Where has my day gone? I have to leave in 30 minutes to pick up Hannah from school. And she has dancing tonight. Busy. Busy. I know you all understand. :goodvibes

Annette....YES, for 2009 they still have that Lodge tower room category...you lucky..you are going during "value season" and that puts the rack rate on the lodge tower rooms at $485 plus tax. Hopefully you can get AAA. A GV during that time frame is $399 plus tax...just an FYI.

The lodge tower rooms are more than Lagoon view, but less than tpv.

Good luck getting one!! Hopefully it will open up.

Mandy, that is amazing. I hope your dad keeps it up!

I am just waiting for the bus to come & then going walking and meeting a friend for breakfast & then SHOPPING!

It is late and I am about to hit the sack but wanted to thank everyone for the well wishes while my dad was in surgery today. He was in sugery 11 hours and is doing well. HE will be in the hospital 12-14 more days befor he will be able to make the 3+ hr trip home.

I have to leave to come back home for a few days then back up for teh weekend to help and give my mom a break.

I just have to say I have the most wonderful DH! HE has taken care of so much and I never had to give him instructions. HE kept the kids busy and ran all over town to the duck park and playground. HE also mentioned doing a few loads of laundry and mopping..... Oh he also homeschooled!

:lovestruc I LOVE him !

Hope your Dad is doing well!!!:wizard: Your DH is AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :worship:

Howdy cheeseballs!!

Mando I hope you are okay and that the family is doing well!

I cant seem to chake this cold. I dont have a fever or chills but now I have a stuffy nose and sore throat. I am sick of being sick!!!!

Feel better soon Kel!

I forgot to hit multi quote re: the SW fares from Midway :headache: Just keep watching!! I waited and waited (and waited ;) ) and got $70 off each way. We now have a $420 credit waiting for that June trip... AND I get to fly down Friday night (like I wanted) rather that getting up at 3AM for the early Sat am flight :cool1:

Thanks for the cabana advice, but I think we are going to pass. The GF pool is never that crowded anyway, so getting a seat won't be hard. I just can't imagine spending 4 hours at the pool with our pasty white December skin :rotfl: We are going to hit the pool for a couple of hours our first day and on MVMCP day but just for a couple of hours each. Besides, I promised DH to be a good girl about extra spending this trip (every dime I save I am putting towards June, which is looking better and better ;) Just need to decide on the exact dates....which is contingent on those teacher's getting a contract and NOT starting a strike  )

I need to shower and head out... today is shopping for Mommy day!! :woohoo:

OK, while I am waiting what feels like an ETERNITY for the dog to come back in, I checked out Disney shopping on line for the first time in awhile.

http://disneyshopping.go.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/DSIProductDisplay?catalogId=10002&storeId=10051&productId=1216207&langId=-1&categoryId=14682

They have a cute Mickey Mouse digital camera on sale for $30 (50% off). I was thinking about picking it up and putting it in DS's bday present next year (the basket where he finds out we are going to WDW in a couple of days). He has recently become OBSESSED with taking our picture. :rotfl: I thought maybe I could grab a 2009 photo album in December (assuming the 2009 stuff is out when we go) to go along with it.

Kelly - I hope you feel better, DD was sick for awhile with an upper respiratory infection.

Mandy - I am so happy to hear about your Dad and what a great DH you have!!!

Blueskies - I've been running around all morning so I haven't had a chance to call. I not going to drive myself crazy over it, we're only 4 people and usually have plenty of more if it works out great, if not....no big deal, but thanks.

Hi! I am on my way out to walk.

:grouphug: To you Annette, and your husband and to all who lost loved ones. Today is a sad day for sure.

I remember it like it was yesterday, too. We were actually here getting ready to leave for my grandma's funeral in Chicago. We first heard of the situation on the radio....I remember exactly WHERE we were in the car - at what intersection and everything - and then hearing it continuously all day off/on while at the funeral and on the way to the luncheon. It was very surreal.

Yesterday was just one of those funky days where nothing goes right.:rolleyes1 We all have them! LOL...and Vanessa, yesterday I started to really lose hope of going to WDW next month. It just seems like it's such a load....NO KIDDING Lucy has 5 hrs homework a night. AND she has to practice French HOrn for band and piano for jazz band. Then there's Jojo & her reading struggles. I never EVER felt like this before...compelled to cancel a trip due to school. I am just worried now that I see what we are in for this year.:headache: AND I am gonna miss DH. Call me crazy, but we've been married 20 yrs this month and never had separate vacations...maybe only 3 days at a time max and this will be 6 nts. It will be hard going to OUR place without him.:guilty: It just doesn't feel like the happy planning, looking forward to, kind of trip they usually do.:confused3

Talk to ya all later! I am OFF!!:cool1:

Chan...LOL....those "nothing is going right" days are too common for me :rotfl:. I know what you mean about not wanting to go to Disney without your DH. You're not crazy at all as I, for one, wouldn't go without my boys or DH :sad2:.....not to mention all the school stuff :headache:. Whenever the talk of Disney comes up (which is more often than not :rotfl:) I keep telling DH and the boys that we might as well plan to go back to summer vacations for the next few years because it will be too darn hard for the boys to miss alot of days in hs :rolleyes1. Taking an extra trip in the fall or winter if they miss a couple days wouldn't be bad.....but to miss 6-7 just isn't gonna cut it here . I can't believe Lucy is having 5 hours of homework each night :scared1:. But then my 8th grader had about 3 hours to do last night......and it's not fun :scared:. Good luck with your decision....wish I could help :(. And BTW....CONGRATS on 20 years :cool1: :cool1:. We celebrated our 16th this past June .

Hi!!

Yep, Deb...I figured we all have those days.:rotfl: Thanks for the congrats...We have never taken separate vacations so it will be weird and then thinking about it being weird has me....:headache: I don't know what is up with all the homework. She is not a dilly dallier either. If this keeps up I am going to make a call. It's been a steady 2 to 3 hrs up to 5 since day 1 of school. I think that's crap for a 12 yr old. My highschooler doesn't get that much. SHe isn't in sports, but if she was it would be a nightmare trying to get it all done....it's bad enough as it is. She is in clubs, student council and she does concessions for meets, but those haven't even started yet!

I am always waffliing before a trip. Lucy reminded me of that the other day.:rotfl: So...who knows. I might be ready for a break from DH by then....and Lucy could probably really use a break from all that work/stress by then.

I got a little heads up from a GF guy! Check this out!:goodvibes

Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa beat out nine other nominees for the prestigious title of “North America’s Leading Resort.” And the Swan and Dolphin was named “North America’s Leading Conference Hotel” and “USA: Florida’s Leading Resort.” Melora Hardin from NBC’s “The Office” presented the awards to executives from both resorts.

Hey, Chan :). I'm getting ready to head out here in a minute but thought I'd check in here first ;).

That is crazy about the homework :sad2:. My hs freshman doesn't have that much.....my 8th grader is bringing home more than his brother . But I would make a call too if it keeps up.....7th grade (she is 7th, right ) should NOT have that much homework . And you're right....if sports were thrown in the mix, her head would spin :headache:. I hope it works out for you and things lessen up a bit because kids need a break......loading them down with homework doesn't do anyone any good and the kids only get more frustrated !!!! I also agree with you about the vaca......you all may need a break :cloud9:. And me and DH have never gone anywhere without the other.....so that would be totally weird for me :scared:. If you do end up going through with it, I'm sure you'll have a fabulous time and you'll be glad you went....especially if it gives Lucy a much needed break from all the school crap :headache:.

Thanks for the info on the GF :). Doesn't surprise me though because the more read about it and the more you guys say how wonderful it is, it's no wonder :thumbsup2. It makes me more excited to be trying it for the first time in July :yay:. And I think DH is getting into staying there too :wizard:.

Morning ladies!

Annette prayers to your family. I could not do what your DH is doing today. :grouphug:

I also remember like Chan exact details and even smells of that day! I was in nursing school and observing cardiac catheters done with brand new equipment. A doctor had just stepped into the observation room and got a page and said what the **** ! He told us a plane had hit a building in NYC. He told us we could go into the doctors lounge and turn on the news to see what was going on and we watched as the second plane hit the 2nd tower. It was crazy because it became clear that it was not a accident the first time and we were under attack. We had a tropical storm the next day and school was canceled for the rest of the week. We watched the whole next few days and it was just unimaginable.

I will say my DH and I went to WDW a lot because the parks were like ghost towns.

Have a great day ladies!

AND just to drive what is normally a 7 min drive to DD's school is 1/2 hour!! EACH WAY!!! It took me almost 45 min to get home from TJ MAxx - and that should be a 10 min drive. I think the governor of IL SUCKS. What a dumb butt to tear up two main roads in spots within a mile of eachother at once. The traffic is HORRIBLE.

Here is is 4:20 and Jo isn't even home. Her bus is stuck in traffic for sure. Round trip to pick up Lucy took me over an hour. :headache:

Evening All :wave2:.

Okay....I have a question.....how come sometimes I can quote one post but not multiquote :confused3. After I log on I always see the individual quote tab in the bottom right corner, but alot of the times the quote marks (") (what you have to click on to multiquote) are not there :confused3. I hope I'm making sense . I don't know if it's just a quirk with the Dis or what .

And Chan.....I thought I was going nuts because the time on my posts are ALWAYS MESSED UP :headache:. It usually puts a time that's about an hour later than when I post :rolleyes1. I thought it was just me or my computer.....but maybe it's something with the Dis since yours is screwed up too . Computers....gotta love 'em . And don't get me started on construction around my house . A major road is closed around here which makes us having to go around....BUT.....another road that would make it MUCH EASIER to handle is CLOSED AS WELL  :. So having to go around not only adds more time to where we need to go.....it takes more gas to travel many more miles out of our way :headache: . Not sure who the brainiac was that made the decision to close 2 roads at the same time, but it sure as heck is causing a major pain . The construction here isn't supposed to be done until November :scared1: .......and I'm not holding my breath for that :headache:. And BTW....love the DB bag :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2.

Hope everyone's having a good night :). I'll catch ya all later :flower3:

Did you see that some lady ....Hardin was a presenter at the GF's fab award??:goodvibes I thought of you two fans.:thumbsup2

Deb...I have NO clue about the dumb quotes.:headache: I just learned how to do that myself.:rotfl: I never even realized the time was off until today.:rotfl2: OK...I forgot..are you in IL or IN? If in IL, Gov Blagojavich or however he spells it is your dumb butt. If in IN.....sorry can't answer. Our guy is a lame oh. IL gets less spending than all other 50 states for special needs kids and some other great dumb IL facts....my kids were complaining (Well, DS, really) that IL is one of only 4 states that has required PE...lol...and that we are one of the fattest states so what's that tell ya?:rotfl: :rotfl:

OK...i am a single parent tonight. DH had to fly to Ohio earlier...so off to get the kids to bed!

BlueSkies ~ I'll be having multiquoting withdrawals if it keeps up :rotfl2: :rotfl2:. Join the club.....my DH changes channels NON STOP....I think it's a man thing :rolleyes1. I refuse to watch tv with him sometimes because he drives me absolutely nuts with his channel surfing :rotfl:. He can't leave it on 1 channel and just watch a show in its entirety....it drives me crazy . And DS is following right in his footsteps . Good luck at TJMAXX finding your DB bag ;).

Kelly ~ Cleaning day for me today, too :headache:. But I guess it's a good day to stay home and do it since it's raining and the forecast is rain all day on and off :umbrella:. Hopefully I'll get alot done....that is if I can keep myself away from the computer :rotfl:.

Morning Lady's !

Where has Marvel been lately??? :confused3

Dawn~ LOL! I watched the reruns last night and saw a preview fro the next season that shows Jim and Pam kissing in a new office looking setting...... hum..... :confused3 Thank goodness fro Tivo, it was quick but I rewound it and then paused it LOL, Thats a crazy fan!

Have I ever mentioned how big of a Tv junky I am? Just prime time stuff thought. No talk shows or soap operas. LOL!

So last night I saw a episode of 30 Rock and I will be watching for now on.... It was freaking hilarious! Love that type if comedy. Who knew Alec Baldwin was so funny?

The show I am looking forward to the most is Kath and Kim...... it looks hilarious! I almost blew my drink out my nose on one commercial when she is asked what she does and she says she a trophy wife. LOL!

Chan~ I did notice that Maloria Hardin (i think) gave the award..... She plays Jan.

OK enough tv Talk! :happytv: :happytv:

Question for you all.....have any of you ever stayed at Hard Rock Hotel Orlando? I know....dirty word :scared1: as it's not Disney/GF :rotfl: :rotfl:......but my one DS loves guitars (has 3) and is into music :rockband: :music: big time so DH and I thought it would be neat to stay 2 nights at HRH before heading to the GF in July :confused3. We've walked around the hotel before (as well as eaten at HR Cafe) and it looks like a great hotel....but I was just wondering if any of you have ever stayed there and what you thought about it . It's so hard for me to stay anywhere other than Disney resorts when going to Orlando, but I think DS would enjoy that hotel since it revolves around what he loves :). Any thoughts or suggestions would be great :thumbsup2.

Mandy ~ How is your dad doing??? Hope he's recovering well :flower3:. I was wondering the same thing about Marvel....wonder how his back/neck is :confused3.

Ok gals....I have got to get something done around here.....I will catch you all a little later ;). Have a great one :flower3:.

Good morning! Ugh...it was a rough morning here. DD12 almost missed her 6:10 bus. It waited!!! THANK GOD! It sat out front and just sat and sat and sat....:rotfl: :rotfl: It got me up so now I feel extra crappy. DD8 just caught her 8:35 bus...which means the construction peeps aren't out there today...otherwise she'd stil be waiting.

Deb..that is funny.

I am gonna walk....if it's not raining....talk to ya later!:thumbsup2 wow it's muggy. gross muggy out.

Hey Mandy!! When is the Office on TV? I do need to watch! I am so not a tv junkie...HOW the heck do you find time to sit and watch?!?!?! I just can't find shows I can get into anymore. They are rare..but when I did see the Office I thoguht it was funny. During "Friends" and "Seinfeld" in the 90s..I was probably the only person in the USA that never saw an episode. I love "Seinfeld" in reruns now late night.;) I am the I Love Lucy and Andy Griffith junky though, but I own them all on DVD... AND the trashy reality shows!!!! What a combo!:rotfl: And the trashier the better!!:rotfl: :rotfl: We need more Joe Millionaires and Ugly Joes - or whatever it was called - out there!! Right now, I am watching my DVDs of "Love Boat" every night. :thumbsup2 Those were the good tV days!!:rotfl: When we were at WDW we watched DVDs of the whole first season of "Flipper"!!:rotfl2: My daughters loved it. We'd watch every night while everybody was tucked in bed. Pretty pathetic...we love retro here, though. It does seem like there aren't many FAMILY shows on tv anymore.

Have a good day. It's FRIDAY!! YAY! :goodvibes

Mandy - can't wait for The Office, too! I love 30 Rock! Love Tina Fey and I saw Alec Baldwin host SNL a few times and didn't know how hysterical he was until then!

Mickeynut- We stayed at HRH and we really liked it , especially my kids. We really liked Portofino - more elegant - but HRH is way more fun! They had pool games, beach volleyball, air guitar contest - my kids had a blast and DH and I did too. It just has a really fun atmosphere. We did not do Club ,just pool view. No balconies though!

We are going back next summer and everyone wants to go to HRH instead of Portofino! Portofino is more like GF- I like it a lot but HRH is cool and an easy walk to the parks. We are combining with a GF trip too so I'll get my "luxury" part of the vacation at GF and the " party" vacation at HRH! LOL!!

Chan - It's got to be OHio - there is a Worthington ,OH outside of Columbus. I have no idea what those A thingys are though!

I still have not listed any Ebay stuff!!! I am a little intimidated - I have no idea what I'm doing!! Everyone's listings look so nice and link to their other clothes, etc, but I'm computer illiterate so mine will probably look like crap! Yikes!!

Mandy that is good news.:goodvibes

Princesses, thanks!! I did the USPS search and yep it's OH. Weird...why would anybody put such funky stuff in their address. They want to receive their item, you'd think they'd make it CLEAR.

Deb & princesses that post about HRH and Portofino reminded me! We stayed at Portofino a couple yrs ago. I didn't like it though. :guilty: We stayed Club level and actually never found our way to the pool. That place is a HUGE confusing maze!!!:rotfl: We were on like the 4th or 5th floor and the lounge was down off the lobby. Very inconvenient. Plus...I hated the bathrooms with the huge clear glass shower. Ya, they were nice sized bathrooms but if somebody was showering that was IT because the shower was surronded by clear glass!! At Portofino we also had our most cruddy check in. The lady at the front desk was like "OH WOW!!!" type type type..."YOU HAVE A GREAT ROOM"...type type type.....I asked why? "What do you mean?" And she said we had a balcony room....type type...then "Oh...sorry. I was wrong". :rotfl2: :rotfl2: WTH? LAME.

I like the look of HRH. I don't like the no balconies though. It felt dark and closed in at PB. Also, we did UO for DS who we thought would love it - he loves thrill rides....he didn't really love it. Three days were 2 days too much. We were all ready for WDW.

The only reason we're considering it is because of DS and his love for guitars....we think it would be fun to just take in the atmosphere for a couple days since just walking around for an hour or 2 visiting doesn't do much :upsidedow. I'll have to look into making a ressie ;). I'm glad you and your family enjoyed your stay there :thumbsup2. When next summer are you going to be there??

Also a really nice pool bar;)

We got the phone call from the school blast messaging service last night that the teachers have filed the paperwork to strike on Monday if an agreement is not reached this weekend.

They are SO far apart on salary issues that this will get ugly. The Board offered just over 5% and THEY TURNED IT DOWN!!!!!!!!!!!! Um, hello, there are people in this country losing jobs right and left and you are angry about a raise :confused3 Be lucky you still have a job!!!

This will SERIOUSLY effect my June trip since I wanted to be there for DS's bday. School was scheduled to end on Tuesday June 2rd. We wanted to fly out Tuesday June 9th :sad2:

We've been going to WDW in July for the past 3 years!! It's NOT THAT BAD!! Believe it or not! You'll be fine. We stay away from AK though. THat place is an incinerator. We don't like it much any time anyway, so it's not that much of a hardship for us. But AK is painfully hot in summer.

The great thing about the UO hotels is that front of the line access...you will LOVE that. It's unreal what a difference it makes.

I might like HRH. It looks neat. :) I am sure you'll have a great time!!!:goodvibes

Kristin....I heard taht on the STAR this morn. That is crap. :headache: I HOPE it works out FAST. BUT, if it doesn't I wouldn't blink an eye at taking a kinder gardener out early.:confused3 PLUS it's the stupid school/teachers/BoE fault..not yours. YOu might have had this planned for 2 yrs for all they know.;) Seriously I never worried about my kids missing school EVER until this year because Lucy is in all accelerated classes and has a mega hideous work load (it's just the workload that's changed for her)...plus she's in band, jazz band, and a special world drum group and all her school clubs. And don't even get me started on all Jojo's activities etc. I am still considering going!! WTH? Lucy even wants to go even if it means tons of make up work!! :rotfl: You only live once AND your DS is only young once. Believe me..it sadly goes soooo fast - you blink it's gone. Kristin~ I hope they resolve it soon! :flower3:

My hubby works for the city and he was suppose to get a COLA (cost of living adjustment) next month and a regular raise in April. He is NOW getting only getting half of the original total! It not as much as we though it was gonna be, but in this economy I feel fortunate! They had to adjust it due to budget problems. The union line men have been told that if they don't cut there raises like all the non union workers are having to then layoffs will begin and it will begin with all union! :sad2:

I agree, some teachers don't make much but they need to cut it off and get to work because at the end of the day they have a job. A friend of ours has been looking fro a job for 7 months, is college educated and can't find anything. He is working at Lowes during the day and Walmart at night to try and make ends meet. They have already lost their home and are living with family, he looks like a zombee.

Some people kill me with their entitled attitudes! :sad2:

OK off my soap box!

But I am already taking him out for a week in December to go. I fear that DH will use this to HIS advantage as a reason not to go :rotfl:

It is just SO frustrating to watch all this play out. The Sun City people are GOING CRAZY about how they already pay so much in taxes and they don't add a single child to the district (and they have a point, to an extent) We have a relatively inept School Board who are all, I believe, up for re-election in November. The heads of the teachers union don't even live in our district so their children are not affected. It seems that neither side has been meeting in good faith (although it is too hard to tell since the media spin keeps leaning towards one side or the other)

It is UGLY!!! The BOE is trying to call for a meeting tonight (dont know if the teachers have responded yet). There is a meeting scheduled for Sunday and the teachers want a support rally just ahead of it (although I am not sure who will attend since most I talk to DO NOT support the strike)

:headache: Is it too early for an umbrella drink?? :rotfl:

I wouldn't worry about taking a 5 yo out a few days at the end either....heck, I took my 2 DSs out for 6 days when they were 6th/7th grade and then 7th/8th grade.....and it wasn't bad at all....and that was at the end of September when things are just getting started :headache:. And Chan hit a good point....they are only young for so long....the time goes by too fast and he will be MS/HS age before you know it ....so take advantage of it now :rolleyes1. Chan and I are alike in the fact that I never worried about taking mine out until this year either . My oldest started HS this fall and it would be way too much for him to miss 6-7 days....and my other DS will be in HS next year....so pulling them out is really not an option now due to the work loads they'll have :headache:. I'll keep my fingers crossed that this mess is settled soon....but I would keep the plans for your trip and not worry about your DS missing a few days in June.....there's not much that goes on those last few days anyway....especially in kindergarten .

Chan ~ I'm actually looking forward to going back in July :). The first time we went was in June (2001) then in July (2002).....but that was our first and second year so we pretty much did parks every day from opening to closing :scared1:....but everything was new to us. Now I couldn't do that for anything :rotfl:. Plus I really want to spend alot of time at the GF since it will be our first stay there......and I know DH and DSs will want to rent the water mice a couple times.....so I can relax and enjoy ME time at the pool in the HOT BLAZING SUN :sunny: :rotfl:. I forgot about Front of the Line passes for UO......maybe we will go there afterall :confused3. None of us have ever been so it would be something different . Although I'll be comparing everything to Disney :rotfl:.

:rotfl:

Hey, K, I live in New Orleans, and it is never too early for an umbrella drink around here, so I say go for it. :cool2:
That really sucks about the strike and I truly hope they resolve things this weekend.
On a similar note, I just found out yesterday that because DD missed school due to Gustav, three of their long weekends have been cut short which affects some weekend trips we have planned, which normally I wouldn't care if she missed, BUT since she is going to miss 2 weeks :scared1: in Feb for Disney, I am less likely to let her miss MORE days. I really like Chan's outlook that it doesn't matter. (Hannah is in kindergarten too.) But, it's hard to have perspective when you are in the situation and feel like your child shouldn't miss. Still, I am trying to go with Chan's experience and advise you to take off in June as planned!!! He will only be little once. I looked at Hannah today and thought "OMG time flies!"

Oh, and btw, schools are closed today here due to Ike, because of the winds and rain. I guess they will take away another vaca day to make up for this one as well ...

That is exactly what I am wondering what will happen once the snow hits. I think we had 3 snow days last year (but I don't remember). Will they keep them in school even if it is too deep to get there since they have to tack on the days for the strike?

The reason I am so down on strikes is because I was a part of the states longest strike back in fall 1991. We were out the second half of September and almost all of October :sad2: I was a senior, so I still graduated on time, but the undergrads went to school for A LONG TIME into the summer :sad2:

Deb - We love the HRH it is a fabulous hotel. The rooms are nicely appointed, the staff was attentive, the pool is so cool and they have dive-in movies. We love the music that you hear throughout the hotel. Oh, you can walk to the parks from the hotel or take the water shuttle. I think you will enjoy HRH. Go for it girl!!

THANKS,Tammy :flower3:. That's what I was hoping to hear since I think it looks like such a cool hotel ;). My DS is sooo into guitars and music that I think the surroundings would be so cool :cool2:. The last time we visited the hotel DH and DS walked around the pool and they said how cool that was....so I'm happy to hear you think so too :). I think all who have responded that have stayed there have made me make up my mind....I think we'll go for it and try it out :thumbsup2. DH is pretty much up for anything I plan....all he wants to know is the dates we'll be gone so he can tell work...and what time he has to be ready to go to the airport :rotfl: :rotfl:. So all the planning is on me .

I totally agree....too many people are losing their jobs today so these teachers need to realize they are some of the lucky ones and get back into the classroom :rolleyes1.

Our school board is a total JOKE....most don't even have kids in the schools  !!!! We got a new superintendent last year.....the one he replaced didn't even live here....he lived in INDIANAPOLIS.....2 hours away :headache:. So needless to say, he didn't have much interest in anything....he was pretty much good for nothing :sad2:. And BTW.....it's never to early.....go ahead and have that umbrella drink :).

Friday night so no cooking here its pizza night:thumbsup2

Arbonette so sorry to hear you are having more bad weather:sad2: I agree with the others about taking DD out of school for your family trips..do it while you can...enjoy:)

Kristin Keeping my fingers crossed for no strike...Gee 5% sounds like a nice increase to me. Most comanys that I know of IF they give raises go with the 2-3% at most....Hope it all works out and that you can take your June trip:)

Deb I forgot about that front of the line thing at UO...dont you wish Disney could do that...I'm sure you'll have a great trip....

Chan Funny we are not big AK fans either....for our teens DHS seems to be the current favorite...me I'm forever a MK fan:lovestruc

OK, I woulk like to propose a motion:

NO MORE TALKING ABOUT LAUNDRY!!!!!!!! :rotfl:

Surely we have more interesting things to talk about than a nasty little chore that we all hate to do :goodvibes

I will be like Linda Richards from Coffee Talk (aka Mike Meyers from SNL)

Here is a topic- How much do you think they will raise the prices of the cabanas now that the service is better?

Discuss amongst yourselves...

I am guessing at least $100 for the half day and $150 for the full...

Kristin - :rotfl:

What are the cabanas now? $60/$120??

Hope they reach an agreement and don't strike!! I know that's got to be nerve wracking, but I'm with the others - I took DD and DS out multiple times in kindergarten!! After that I tried to only take them out for a vacation once a year til DS hit middle school. Then those days were over! Middle school is too stressful to make up with 6 different classes and teachers!

I think it is $60 and $110 (isn't there a sight discount for getting it all day :confused3 )

Thanks for the support on the strike :grouphug: It is going to be a LONG weekend as we wait!!!

We are off to Hooters for dinner (Chan- wanna come?? :lmao: ) and hopefully the rain will hold off a little so we can watch some of the Sox game. We have tix for tomorrow afternoon's game as well, but the weather doesn't look good for that either :sad2: We had tickets for Sunday, but since it is a night game, I told DH to give them away earlier this week since it was a "school night"

Hey everyone!!

We are having horrible weather!!! Yuck!! I it looks like its going to be around for awhile. My DH and DS just left for hunting, tomorrow starts hunting season (bow hunting)!! Nothing about that sport interests me at all. You sit outside in the woods for hours (starting at 5:00 in morning), weathers its raining or nice. You can't talk, you can't shower and you can't move!!!! :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: Oh BTW and there are no computers!!!:scared1: :scared1:

I only got this information from Chris at the Cabanas so its not official, but he really knew his stuff. The cabanas are going to be $110 a half day and I think $220 a full day. I really only remember the half day because thats how we use them.

They are going to have a sectional couch, two padded lounge chairs, a tv suspended from the front corner inside the cabans with a wii, frig, sierrus radio etc.

So, heres a question for everyone, that should help us talk about something interesting!!! We all love WDW and GF right? But, what about your DH or DW? Do they love it as much as you do?

I have to say my DH loves it there, he loves everything about WDW and the GF. The only thing is...he HATES is talking about it a year in advance!! He's all talk a month before, but thats about it. So thank you to everyone who chats with me here, you have helped my marriage :lmao: :lmao: !!!!

ok....ixnay on the laundry talk.

OK...you've talked amongst yourselves so I will add my two cents.....

WOW for the cabanas!! THey sound like they're going to be mahvalous!!! But Whoa on the cost!! Good thing we only like a 1/2 day there! I get squirrely after aobut 3 hrs at the pool. We never managed to stay our full 4 hrs anyway.

Kristin!! Well it's just me and Jojo tonight!! We could have gone for some wings!! We did McDs instead. They have Madame Alexander happy meals so we both got one....and two flying monkeys.:rotfl: :rotfl: :thumbsup2 How's that for a cool Friday night?!:rotfl2:

Now...we are going to watch the new Barbie DVD movie.:thumbsup2 Hooters is sounding good about now.:goodvibes

I did a drivethru ditch tonight....I placed my order and then looked and saw NO WALLET!!! ugh!! I had switched bags from earlier today......so there was a monster line and I got out of it. I told Jojo...iuh oh...they're gonna remember me...and she said NO..they take so many orders....well they did remember me!! LOL...it's my special Diet Coke McDs so they know me....it was just funny though. I tried to place my order in a different way, but the guy was like "Weren't you just in my line?":rotfl: :rotfl: And I laughed and told him no wallet and he was cool.

Um....about the GF and the DH. OH ya. He loves it. It's good because he pays the bill. :rotfl: I never let him see how much it costs though...and I always book trips without him knowing and then just break it to him. YOu know me.....booking the bounce back while he's in the shower...that type of stuff. But he loves the GF...just not going as much as I like to go. I am WAY over the top with my GF love and my WDW love. He likes it and has fun when we're there, but he is sooo not about talking vacation or trip or planning...OR BOOKING IT!!! OMG...I cannot believe that poster thats husband BOOKED HER TRIP!!!:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: That will be the day...........................

Talk to ya later. Happy Friday, all!!!

[QUOTE=mandymommy4;27525249]Morning Lady's !

Mandy...I watched too! Laughed again at the Plasma TV..and LOVE 30 Rock and cant wait to see Kath and Kim...we need to live closer to be TV buddies!

So strike watch continues in earnest over here popcorn::

K~I saw it last night on the news...I was thinking of ya. Not to be this way but dont worry about pulling out DS..he really will be fine! Like Chan said parent time is WAY more important at this age..and its their fault anyways for the d**n strike!:headache:

Happy Saturday Morning Gals :). WOW....lots of posting going on while I was gone last night.......ya leave for an evening and come back and have so much to catch up on :lmao:. We had football last night and WE WON....YAY :cheer2: :cheer2:!!!

BlueSKies.....I missed telling you last week...DS doesn't play football....believe it or not, we DON'T HAVE FOOTBALL :scared1: :scared1:. Yes, I know.....pretty unbelievable that a hs doesn't have football :rolleyes1. I told you we lived in the country :rotfl:. Where we live has built up SO MUCH over the last 10 years (we've been here 7) that before that there was pretty much nothing around and the school was much smaller than it is now :sad2:. The average class size is only around 150....still very small....but growing every year.....so before now there was never enough kids/big enough school to have a football team :sad2:...but they're working on that and hoping to have one in the next couple of years. But my brother's best friend is head coach at a hs and my brother is defensive coordinator so we go to support him :thumbsup2. He has such a passion for football (he played all through hs himself) and he has such a flexible job that he can be out of the office pretty much whenever he wants to....so that makes it very easy for him to be at practices during the week and through the summer when they really hit it hard before the season starts ;). We really enjoy going...although last night was NON STOP RAIN :umbrella:. But we had our infamous Mickey ponchos and dressed for it so it was ok :). The way we carry on and cheer at the games, you'd think we had a son on the team :rotfl:.

Kristin....Agreed...no more laundry talk.....although I may forget sometimes so if I do.....just let me have it :rotfl:. Any word on the strike???? I do hope things settle very soon :wizard:.

Wishes......The new cabanas sound great!!!! Are they supposed to increase for 2009? I am planning on reserving one in July and I thought $60/half day was great.....but I guess I'll just have to pay the increase if it happens for next year because I'm GETTING A CABANA :rotfl:. Although we haven't stayed at the GF yet....I love it already. DH doesn't love WDW as much as me, but he does love going.....but for him to actually PLAN and BOOK a trip.....NO WAY.....that's all my department . But I love it and he knows I love it and he doesn't want to be bothered with any details....which is not too smart on his part because I get carried away sometimes and he's the one who pays the bill (i.e., cabana) :lmao:.

Chan.....too funny about the wallet....that's something I would do :lmao:. And I'm sooooo sad to hear about Mandy's dad....he seemed to be doing so well. I hope it's just a mild setback and he'll be back on the road to recovery soon .

Maxie.....Glad you're back :yay:. As you can see no multiquotes for me this morning.....it's hit or miss with those dumb things :rotfl:.

Mandy...I haven't heard more so I am praying your father is doing better this morning. Hang in there. We are all thinking of you.

Maxie! Wow that is so sweet of you. I hope Kelly is feeling better this morning, too....she has been sick since late August! It's really hanging on.:guilty:

Annette, ugh...I agree with the hunting thing. *boring* My step brother lives in Montana and he hunts & takes his little girls!! And they all enjoy it.:confused3 Crazy. It's not my thing....but to each their own! What do your guys hunt? DB hunts moose, deer, elk..that kinda thing in MT. That will be great taking a little one with on a WDW trip! Deb, we must have posted about the same time!! LOL....I was just reading your post.:goodvibes

I heard before the cabanas would increase around spring break 2009. Ya...that is quite an increase. I don't think we'll do cabanas as often anymore.,...we would just reserve one for anyday we thought we'd have a break/rest. Eek...they sound fabulous but still......makes me think a little more on paying that rate for just a nice tent for a few hrs....except in summer they really are needed.......I was out of the cabana for a bit on the laptop....I could pick up wifi from the lobby over near the popjet play area so I was istting and typing and then suddenly felt really icky. The heat caught up with me fast. I had to run to the cabana, dump the laptop and jump into the cool water.:rotfl:

Have a great day!

Afternoon all~ Thanks Chan for letting everyone know!

Thanks for all the well wishes he is doing OK not great but not horrible.

Things could be worse so we are thankful!

Oh I forgot to post this earlier. They checked out my dad percancer cells and we found out last night no maignacy! Yay! :thumbsup2

NO more laundry talk ? What if Johnny boy is spotted in the laundry mat, can I use that word then????? :lmao:

;)

I agree about those prices, the new stuff sounds sweet!

My hubby was converted by choice.....I threatened to divorce him and marry a gay guy that would be happy to indulge my desire to be AP holders who go every weekend! LOL! JK ;) I hope I dont offend anyone!

Actually once we had kids he got to asking me if we were free to go! LOL, definantly better for him to go with kids and see the joy in their faces!

[QUOTE=Lives4Disney;27520012]DAWN!! Hey...I WAS GONNA SAY THAT!!!!!:rotfl2: You guys have to let me know when/time/channel "The Office" is on....I am clueless...all I know is I did see it a few times and it was great. Did you see that some lady ....Hardin was a presenter at the GF's fab award??:goodvibes I thought of you two fans.:thumbsup2

Chan..its on Thursday nights at 8pm.....go rent seasons 1 2 and 3 you will laugh your butt off!:rotfl2:

Mandy...I watched too! Laughed again at the Plasma TV..and LOVE 30 Rock and cant wait to see Kath and Kim...we need to live closer to be TV buddies!

K~I saw it last night on the news...I was thinking of ya. Not to be this way but dont worry about pulling out DS..he really will be fine! Like Chan said parent time is WAY more important at this age..and its their fault anyways for the d**n strike!:headache:

I wish we could be TV buds! I need a bud that likes the same shows I do. My sis is to sofisticated for thoe shows and my BF Rhonda does not get the comedy..... LOL!

That Episode with his plama on the wall cracks me up! When we got our big plasma tv i walked to the tinys ones and said I like this size, it was a tiny one for a kitchen. My DH was like oh ok..... I was like no JK and we went home with a 50 inch LOL! He told me later he was worried! LOL! :lmao:

BTW: WE LOVE our huge TV! My sister is jelouse and says it is too big for our house...... Whateva!

TTYL! Taking Dad on a walk!

Chan ~ Yea...our times are right there so we probably did post at the same time ;)....although who knows if it was even the right time since our times are often off :rotfl:. The price increase on the cabanas do seem kinda steep, but being we've never stayed at the GF I HAVE to try one out....especially since it'll be July and like you said, it will be nice to get out of the blazing heat if we want :).

Dawn ~ You're right....today is a great day for staying in.....that's exactly what we've been doing here . My one DS said he heard on tv that a flood watch or warning was in effect for Lake County, IN until 4:30 a.m. MONDAY . We're actually right there just over the Lake/Porter County line. So I think we're in for some more heavy rains :sad2:. Have fun shopping and having lunch with your mom :flower3:. Hope your friends in Houston are safe .

Mandy ~ Glad to hear your dad is doing ok :flower3:. And that's great about no malignancy :yay:!!! Hope he continues doing well and gets back home soon :grouphug:.

Enjoy the day everyone....although it's filled with rain :umbrella:.
