Finished the last of my shirts with 8 hours to go!!!!

We only have 24 more days until we hit the road for the "World". :banana: :banana: I can hardly believe it is almost here! DD and I have been very busy getting things ready. We've got boxes piled in our dining room marked "Going to Disney!"!!:cool1:

and her passport is almost finished. I have been printing her journal a little at a time and will post pics when it's finished. She has decided that she wants it as one large book (weighing in at about 3 lbs!!!) . Here is the menu book that I made to take to the parks. We decided not to do the dining plan and we are only planning one TS meal the whole trip. This book is to help decide what we want to eat.

I am wondering what you used to print out the Epcot one (beer one). it looks like it was done on clear paper, but it's on a gray shirt?:confused3 I am sure you didn't cut the transfer out? I am ordering the shirts from Jiffy Shirts, which was recommended by several dis-ers.

My husband's t-shirts fit "okay," but he wanted me to try another brand. My 11YO's son "just fit," so once they got washed and shrunk, they'd be too small, and I could tell the ones for my 8YO would be too small.

As for mine, I ordered a ladies' fit by Jerzees, and it was PAPER THIN!!!

Can you even imagine what would happen once I got off a "wet" ride??? :scared1:

So, they all went back, and they have one-day shipping to GA, so that should work out fine.

The bad thing is that you have to pay shipping twice--once on the first order and again on the 2nd order. I really wish the t-shirt sites would work like the shoe sites and not charge you shipping.

That would make it so much more worthwhile, you know?

Anyway, they are supposed to be here tomorrow, so I guess I'll be busy this week and next!

I had the passport printed as a 5x7 photobook from Shutterfly. With coupons and free shipping it cost me about $9.00. I did order a few other things as well. The guys tshirts were printed from Vista Print .

I'm beginning to have panic attacks about going. Do I have everything? What am I forgetting? My kids aren't behaving and my 8th grader still doesn't have any assignments from teachers. One said to just get caught up when you get back :eek: Don't know how that's gonna work. On the bright side, my fourth grader's teacher sent him home with a disposable camera and a journal she made for him to record his trip. That's all, no other homework. Seems like she'd fit right in here on the boards.

We are taking our RV so everything that is ready is packed is boxes in my dining room. DH and both took the day off next Friday and plan on spending the day packing and cleaning so that we can hit the road first thing Saturday Morning. We're spending Saturday Night in Florence, SC and planning to arrive at Fort Wilderness by 5:00 on Sunday.

I actually have pretty much to do yet!!! Most of my shirts, Erin's autograph book, passport, itinerary and menu book are done. Erin's journal is close to being finished and I had to order a few last minute things. We have a box of Halloween decorations to decorate our campsite.....that should be fun!

One thing I always tell DH when we leave for a big trip.......
We are not going to the Sahara! We can pick up anything we forgot while we're there. I have a list of the "we have to bring these things from home" stuff! That includes tickets, cell phones, credit cards, keys, camera and meds. Everything else can be (easily?) replaced!!! I learned that at a very early age when I took a plane to see DH graduate from USMC Basic Training. All I had with me on the plane was my purse. The weather was bad and the airline transferred us so many times that I think my luggage ended up in Chicago and I ended up in Savannah. I was only there for two days (thank heaven) but I had to rent a car and find a store to buy clothes (I flew in sweats and got sick on the plane). Overall it was not a good day for travel!
I was so upset and stressing beyond belief..... but when I saw DH (who I hadn't seen in 3 months) everything fell into perspective!

The bottom line.....
HAVE A MAGICAL TRIP!!!!!!!!

I am obsessively packing detergent (we stay DVC) and dryer sheets and he is assuring me that Orlando does have department stores and grocery stores. :lmao: How exciting. We stayed at the cabins once and had a great time. I love seeing how everyone decorates their campsites. It is great.
Well we will miss you here but I am sure you will be having way too much fun to be missing us. LOL
My nephew did the Epcot journal last trip and handed it into his teacher (she didn't assign him anything as he only missed 3 school days). She was very impressed.:teacher:

I am obsessively packing detergent (we stay DVC) and dryer sheets and he is assuring me that Orlando does have department stores and grocery stores. :lmao: How exciting. We stayed at the cabins once and had a great time. I love seeing how everyone decorates their campsites. It is great.

My nephew did the Epcot journal last trip and handed it into his teacher (she didn't assign him anything as he only missed 3 school days). She was very impressed.:teacher:

There was a surprise in your files for me. I had requested "the circle of life" lion mickey heads for my 4 grandchildren, and also a polka dot Minnie and a Donald for the girls. I thought my request had gotten lost in the many that you get.
But there they were, a bit of pixie dust for me!

I printed them all myself............
I used 28 lb paper and printed them double sided. Then I kept them under a BIG book to make and keep them flat! I had it bound at Kinkos for about $6.00.

I don't want to lie...... I believe I went through 4 cartridges of color and 2 cartridges of black. When we get back, in my spare time, I'm going to start a second version ( for our next trip!). I'm going to to try to do something more ink friendly. I love all the colors but it really was an ink hog!

absolutely love everything, i have already started putting things together for my childrens and my 3 nieces and nephews journals and i had a question about yours after seeing your pictures. i saw where you said you used 28lb paper for the journal but did you use something heavier for the cover or did you get it laminated for extra protection? Also do you have the cover page listed anywhere in your to share file, i couldn't find it but you have so much i easily could have overlooked it. thanks for all you do have a great trip and i will wait to send my requests until you get back, we aren't going until Feb.

I absolutely love the journal and the rest of the clothes. Again, I hope your kids know how lucky they are to have you do this for them. When I get off work later I want to take a look at your files for the journal - I think I might do that for DS8 and have him show it to his teachers when he returns. I have to say I am now a bit worried about doing the journal for the boys seeing how much ink it used. I knew it would use alot but didn't realise quite how much!

Can I ask when you say 4 colour cartridges is it the individual colour cartridges or the tri-colours?

Our printer is an HP inkjet which uses tri-colour cartriges so I have two at the minute so was hoping that would be enough to do them all but I'm thinking maybe not!:confused3 :rotfl:

That would mean I would need 12-15 ink cartridges for three journals!:lmao:
Might be cheaper getting it printed off else where?

Hard to believe vacation is over. Seems like we just left. Hope you have a wonderful time. We did, except that the weather was soooooo hot and SOOOOO humid. That, and some VERY RUDE castmembers. We've never experienced this at Disney before and I could understand if it was just one, but it was over and over again. Spoke to several other families and they, too, had the same experience. I will be emailing Disney about our disappointment. ANYWAY......had tons of compliments on your designs! People loved the shirts. Just wanted to let you know you're a big hit! Several people wanted to know where in Disney World you can purchase them. I told them it was a very special "friend" who did them and they were not for sale.
