Well I'm glad he is feelling better in some way. Let us know when he has to go in for the cath ablation.

The picture book was really easy to put together! Your mom will LOVE it! It was by far my Grandmother and mom's favorite Christmas gift. I can't tell you how many times I saw them go back and pick it up. While you're at it, get one for you, too! If you go with Snapfish, they will give you 25% off any additional books after you buy one. I promise you won't be disappointed!

Thanks Kimberly I will let everyone know how things go in a couple weeks. I'm going to look into doing a snapfish book for mom as well!

Went in to have my follow on my foot. The bad news is it is still broke No magic healing for me. But the good news is it is healing as expected and I will be almost Good as New in about 4 weeks.

I hope this post finds everyone well and happy in this New Year. I can say how thankful this has made me for all the blessing I have. My life has been good. Lois

Sorry to hear your foot is indeed broken Lois. I hope it heals fast:goodvibes

Let it Snow, Let it Snow, Let it Snow, it looks like Christmas around here. I dont know how much snow is out there, but it keeps coming down too. My roads havent even been plowed. ( I am guessing 6in so far?)

Better you than me. I'm so over winter at this point. They were thinking we were going to have that storm on Friday, but it missed us (YAY!!)!

Howdy all.
Surprisingly, we've had no medical disasters since the kidney issue. In fact, his last surgery was a breeze-- he was on the table for less time than it took to put him under. And also- no more kidney stones as of last ultrasound. The second one is gone.

We're planning a surprise cruise for the kids (can't believe they haven't figured it out yet) for 9/12/09, and as of this moment, I'm still taking the two big kids on the first Med cruise so we can go to Tunisia.

Not too much else, just plodding along.

Glad to hear everyone is doing well Julie!

Hi everyone! Thank you so much for thinking about me while I was having surgery. Right now I'm sitting up but my knee is killing me so I don't know how much longer I'll be able to sit in this position. The surgery was more painful than last time and for the first 24 hours, the pain medicine they gave me didn't even hit the pain. It was horrible! I'm taking perkaset (spelling?) and it seems to be helping but I forgot to take it in the middle of the night so my schedule is all thrown off so I"m in some pain for now.

I"ll try to update ASAP. Please know that I've been thinking about all of you!!!! Thanks again for thinking about me! :)

Amy thanks for checking in. I'm sorry the surgery was more painful this time. I will be keeping you in my thoughts that the pain starts to subside:goodvibes pixiedust: pixiedust:

3. ONLY 3 MORE DAYS TILL WE FIND OUT THE GENDER!!!

Arin how exciting! My brother and his wife (not the one that got married before the cruise) are expecting a boy at the end of May).

I am *SO* bummed! So are many others here in Columbus. We were suppose to get 6", and we got s slight dusting. Maybe .25" of ice overnight Friday, but it was nothing really. I was *SO* looking forward to having SNOW!

Just stopping in really quickly to say hi to everyone! Thank you for the well wishes! The knee is getting better. Dave came up last night and spent the night on the aerobed by me while I slept on the sofa. My knee is getting better...slowly but surely. Still taking the pain meds though!

Hope all is well with everyone!!! :)

The 80's?! LOL! OK...granted I haven't been outside all of that much in the last week, but I can tell you for a fact that it's no where near 80's outside here! LOL!!!! Actually, the low later this week is 0 degrees! Little chilly!

Had physical therapy today...my second session. I even put a little weight on my foot. It's starting to hurt a little now, but the pain is going away slowly everyday.

We finallly got a nice blanket of snow overnight! :goodvibes We'll all be cuddling as the day goes on though. Throughout the day temps are to just go down down down from the current 32 degrees with the Arctic Blast coming in today. Like Amy, we're getting an Alberta Clipper on top of that later, so it will be a high of 10 and 8 Thursday and Friday, respectively, and -2 as a low. BRRRRRRR

Amy, I'm amazed that you're already able to be even the littlest amount of weight on that leg! Let's take that as a good sign!

we are not moving until the summer, but if this cold weather keeps up..I am ready now. :lmao:

our house goes on the market in March. (and I am no where near being ready for that. lol.) I need to start cleaning/decluttering.... all the fun stuff.

We will be going to Atlanta in April to further house hunt. we now know the area. :)

We got a wonderful snow storm yesterday! It's our first real snowfall of the season.

However, we're waking up to -3 degrees F this morning. Tomorrow it's to be even worse. Knowing this is around much of the US or on its way to you, be careful out there if you're in this Arctic Blast's way!!

STAY WARM!!

So I was trying to price out a 3day kids free just for the heck of it... LOL. Well they have no 4person cabins available... YET I can book 1day for 1 adult and 1 child, then another cabin for 1 adult and 1 child (1P's age and 1 J's age) BUT not together.. thus forfitting the kids free since they charge the 1st and 2nd passanger as an adult LOL... oh well

Yay!!!! It's a boy!!!! I wanted to check yesterday but it was a crazy day...not busy just strange.

I started out my day by taking a pain pill and then nearly passing out at physical therapy! :scared1: I thought I was going out for sure! It was scary. My therapist even brought over a bucket for me to throw up in just in case...after about 20 minutes, I was able to walk (well, walk/crutch) to the waiting room. My big outing to Wegman's ended at that point. Needless to say I wasn't up to doing anything the rest of the day...not even coming on the Dis! (I know I commited a Dis Sin!!!!)

Now for a name...what about Mickey? Just kidding...hmmm...I'll have to keep thinking. :)

Well, I think we have picked a name. Those of you who know me, also know that I tend to change my mind (change plans) so who know what name we will end up with but for now it is:

Kade Michael-Bradley

Michael after my hubby and Bradley is my brothers name. Both of my kids have 2 middle names, so I had to do the same with this one. (I think Bradley-Michael flows better, but DH wants his name first ;) )

Drea: Weather in the 80's!!?? I am jealous! Our winter storm passed a couple of weeks ago, but it is still cold. In the 30's at night and 40's during the day.

Those of you in really cold temps: Be careful out there. I love the snow, but I hate the cold!

Wow...25, that is a heatwave! :)

I turned the weather on this morning (I was up earlier than I wanted to be because my knee was bothering me, probably because of the cold weather) and the dew point was -3! I never knew the dew point could be a negative number! I'll try to remember that when it's 90 degrees and humid this summer! :)

Anybody doing anything interesting this weekend? Today I'm probably going on my first big outing (the last one was canceled thanks to the fact that I almost passed out at PT), we're going to Walmart! Woo Hoo for Walmart! :rotfl: I'm sure you are more than ready to get some new scenery! Glad your honey will be there with you to make it that much better.

Those of you on Facebook have probably seen this already, but my "interesting" plan for this weekend is a mini high school reunion tonight. Since I joined Facebook, I've learned just how many people live here in Columbus, so I decided to organize a gathering. One of my friends mentioned that a popular local '80s band, Reganomics, is playing tonight, so we thought that would be a great background with all the tunes of our young years playing.

...how cold it is in Atlantar right now...25! ....The waterpark was great....Dh is getting ready for the big game, he needs to go buy wool socks. The stadium gets awfully chilly. :)

Atlanta is 25?!?! Geez! It was -3F when I got up at 8:30 this morning, but it's already up to 10!!!!

My Passat had sat outside on Thursday night when it was around -15F. I let the car warm up 15 minutes before I left for work. Twenty minutes into my 25 minute commute to work, I was at a stop sign. Hmmmmm...what's that smell? Must be the truck in front of me. So I get to the parking garage at work, and I notice the smell indeed had not gone away, and in fact, suddenly became quite overwhelming. It went from smelling similar to oil burning to a toxic fume. Bottom line: The cold air froze the air injector pump, when in turn backs up the exhaust into the cabin of the car. UGH! The Volkswagon dealership said this is not extremely uncommon with these temperatures we're having, and before deciding to get a new pump (approx $500 w/labor) it should sit in their garage overnight to see if it unfreezes. Besides....there's not a pump to be found in the area, so it will have to be ordered. grrrr

STAY WARM OUT THERE...that includes you, Drea, in your 50 degree weather!

Besides....there's not a pump to be found in the area, so it will have to be ordered. grrrr

I hope your car is doing better Kimberly. A couple mornings last week my car was less than excited to start up in the below zero temps. I was warming it up for like 20 min before I would leave so I could hop into a warm car!

Wahoooooo!! Dh was at the game! ( he was at the last AFC championship where they lost to the Patriots.) -- that was a miserable ride home. :( tonight was very pleasant!! :cool1:

This made me LOL...I once dated a guy who was a huge sports fan and I can remember a few of those car rides when his team would loose a big game:rolleyes:

My outing was fun! I ended up going to Walmart and then for Chinese food with my sister. I was VERY tired when I got home though. It's funny, we went to the Chinese buffet and my sister had to get the food for me! LOL! Dave came up and we had a wonderful weekend together.

Dave is my Prince Charming - he has been so wonderful to me since the day we met and he has taken such good care of me since the surgery. I am so lucky that I met him and that I'm going to marry him and I'm so thankful that MagicMe raised such a wonderful son. :goodvibes

He had become a wonderful man. It wasn't always easy but I'd like to think that I had something to do with how he turned out. He has a big heart! But the best thing in his life has been finding you. I don't know what stars aligned but I will always be greatful that they brought him you.

It has been strange not being at your house! I miss talking to you! I've been spending a lot of time with my mom...she's basically been taking care of me when Dave's not here. He takes such good care of me and will sadly need to drive me around for a few more weeks...my physical therapist told me I won't be able to drive for another month most likely! Oh well! I'm sure I'll get to see you before then. :)

It has been crazy but hopefully it won't be for much longer. After the holidays I settled back into a somwhat more regular schedule (I drop Elliott off at School then head to the office, leave the office around 5:30 and spend some time with him before he goes to sleep). We are just very short handed and with the new VP and the new computer system there have been many changes in the way we do things. I just keep counting down the days until the next cruise (and TRYING to get DH to plan a 3 dayer for this fall...that isn't happening).

Hey all. Just checking in :). I have been having the "don't have a vacation planned blues" lately :sad1:. In the past I ALWAYS have had something in the works, even if it was a whole year away ;).

I am actually thinking about surprising DH with a trip to Vegas for his 30th birthday in September, nothing like a cruise, but I think it may hold me over until MY 30th birthday in October of 2010, when I plan on taking our next BIG trip, with no kids :rolleyes1.

Anyway, pregnancy is going well. I am more than halfway there :cool1:. Baby Kade is kicking a lot now and DH is even able to feel him :goodvibes.

It's very icy here in Columbus, and even moreso south of us. It's snowing quite heavy at the moment. However, from about 10:30 last night until 8:00 this morning, it was all sleet/freezing rain/ice coming down. Some surrounding counties are in a Level 3 Snow Emergency, which is the most dangerous. For those of you in sunny states, that also means it's illegal to be on the roads. We are still on a Level 2. So, it's a work-at-home day.

I so not looking forward to unearthing my car, either, Melodie. I heard a neighbor trying to get into his truck this morning. It made me look outside to see what was going on. He was body slamming the door to help break the ice. There's a lot of snow to shovel around the car, too. I guess I know where I'll get my exercise tonight! This morning I scooped up the slush and chipped away at the ice underneath on my stoop and steps. It was HEA-VY. I was going to do more of the sidewalk, but abandoned that idea. It was just too hard.

Be safe and warm everyone!

BTW, who can share a sunshine story?

Well we have about a foot so far, and it is still snowing. it goes great with the foot of snow we all ready had. It must be waist high in some of the snow drifts!!

Once upon a time (4 mos ago.) a great group of people got together to share a ship ride!! it lasted 7 days and the weather although rainy at times did not hamper anyone from enjoying their vacation. On the last day they went back to paraside... aka Castaway Cay!!! then the journey ended and we all to go back to reality. the end.

That's a great story, Val. Thanks!!! It's also so perfect that today's foot coordinates with yesterday's snow. :upsidedow

Well I just spent 50 minutes outside chiseling ice off my car and steps as well as shoveling snow....and I'm still not done! Thankfully the car is cleared off. However, I still have more snow to shovel. I'm whipped, sweaty, and my back hurts! You walk and you hit soft snow. CRUNCH. Soft Snow. Then finally when you make the complete step, you're down to 3/8" of softening ice. It's super heavy stuff. The snow has stopped falling for now, however.

Has anyone seen the footage on The Weather Channel of this man inside his car as it slowwwwwwlllyyyy was sliding into the Ohio River? Poor old guy! He's there holding his door open waiting for an opportunity to get out, but as he moved, the car would move. The car's tail end was in the water, but somehow, it stopped at least long enough to get him rescued. Not sure if the car made it or not. I would imagine it would have had to have totally slipped in. Great footage though.

BeachBratt and Val, thanks for the warm weather updates! We're getting another snow storm after midnight. That's one thing I love about our country. It's so diverse in climates that you can get away to an entirely different kind of weather if you choose to!

Maureen, I agree. I thought it was really interesting. I saved it because I know I would like to see it again. I think that's one of those shows where you hear something you didn't catch the first time you saw it. I so badly wanted to correct their report that the ship was all ready for passengers after it left BAE! Nice try, but we DISers know better! Pretty much ya.. Im bummed.. I would love to but the WDW offer they have for military just is not to be missed compaird to the military cruise deal.. I would love to do both just dont have enough vacation time :(. Well that and E would never go for both LOL. So for about half the price of the cruise we will be doing 8-9days at the world! The boys dont know still and im keeping it that way incase anything changes ... AGAIN. Depending on their school schedual (its always been the same week to start, well of COURSE this yr they have 6different calanders proposed that were supposed to be deceided on already but havent.) Once they figure out when the start day is I will book our stay. Was looking at doing more or less around August 9th-19th (thats when it goes to off peak pricing LOL) and they usually offer free dinning then so if we can get that it would be 7-8days at pop with dinning, then 2-3 at Animal Kingdom.

WHAT sucks is since I changed our booking from when we rebooked on board to the military rate cruise, we lost the $200 and 10% off. (this is cuz like a retard I listened to E... since we already put down the $500 deposit and paid the CC off. NOW if we are to switch it, we lose the $200 and 10% off... So im just going to get my money back from the deposit. THATs what I get for listening to someone that doesnt know jack squat about planning, I dont know why I did it to... DUMN ME :confused3 ) Oh well live, learn and dont listen to E lol.

I feel like I have been gone FOREVER...

My computer is still nowhere near done, but we couldn't take it anymore and
broke down and bought the $350 Best Buy special! So I'm back with two laptops, lol!

What have I missed? Is anyone in the 'hood for the Super Bowl today?? (Val???Cough Cough)OMG, traffic is unbelievable, and Winghouse....fuhgeddaboutit!!! (I did have my naked Dallas...yummmmmm)

Drea, I see you did WDW, that's great! We only have a couple of weeks til we go (can't wait)!

I saw Arin is having a boy...CONGRATS!! :goodvibes

Happy Birthday, Erica!!! I hope you had a fab time at the Poly and the rest of the World this weekend celebrating!

Shirley (lenzs4), I know you're ready for those Cardinals to win tonight. There's a load of you with your yellow and black on, too. GO TEAM! :rotfl:

I hope you all have your 3-D glasses! I scoured Kroger yesterday trying to find them. Finally, an employee and I stumbled upon them.

Actually I am averaging 20 minutes 4 times a week.
Also doing some free weights.

My goal is to actually need the flotation device for snorkeling

Woo Hoo!!! Good for you, Skinny Cat!

I feel like I have been gone FOREVER....What have I missed? Is anyone in the 'hood for the Super Bowl today?? ...

Thank goodness you returned! I was thinking about you this week as the media was talking about the idea of the Postal Service going down to 5 days of delivery. I would hate to see that happen as it means it cuts income for so many government workers.

I personally don't know of anyone down in your hood today. I can't even imagine how crazy it must be there!

Hmmm...off the top of my head, other misses I can think of include Lisa's (Scoutsmom) dad did very well with his follow-up surgery post-pacemaker! Another biggy is that on Friday, Hadley and family moved to Germany. Dave got a dream job there, and everyone was excited about their new adventure. One of the downside for them is that it's illegal to homeschool, so they were fortunate to find a great private school.

Well, the game is starting...ttys!

Well........I'M doing the happy dance because FOOTBALL SEASON IS FINALLY OVER!!!!:cool1: I know the Pro Bowl is next weekend, but wooooo-hoooooo:cheer2:
My household can finally go back to "it's regularly scheduled program" ;)
6 whole months of no football coming my way! Don't get me wrong, I am a Greenbay Packer fan (by marriage) and I don't HATE football, but it just takes up soooo much of my hubby's time and attention. Maybe it is just the pregnancy hormones talking :lmao:

Congrates Steelers fans!

Welcome back Jen.

Happy belated birthday Erica.

Erik posted this on the WB TA thread this afternoon, so I thought I would share it with you guys, too. :)

....I thought I'd log on quickly to let everyone know that I got an email from Dave (Hadley's husband) on his blackberry this morning. They have safely arrived in Germany and are now neck deep in preparations for their new home, settling in, getting ready for work and school and everything....but they wanted us to know they're well and excited about this new chapter in their life!! (despite the fact that some of us are already missing them on OUR continent!!! ;) )

Howdy all. Just stopping in. I never get notifications so I have to remember to come by and check the thread.

No medical disasters, and we did get dh home for a two week leave over New Year's. It took him over a week to get back due to bad weather, but he made it.

Still hoping for our 11 day Med cruise with the two big kids.

Wow- our life seems so boring but I never have time to do anything. Weird.

I'm glad to hear that Hadley and family are in Germany safely!

I just wanted to wish MagicMe a VERY HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!! I know it's late in the day and I wanted to do it earlier but I had a migraine all day and didn't get to a computer. We had a wonderful birthday dinner tonight at the Olive Garden with her family and my parents. It was great! :)

Thanks everyone for the birthday wishes. Except for the fact that it was still a normal work day (yuck), I had a nice day. Dinner was with about 20 people and it's just nice seeing everyone again. And this year, it was nice spending it with Amy's parents too! It was so nice of them to come down just for my dinner.

Julie - so happy for you that you got time to spend with your guy!!!!

I HATE basketball. Sadie plays it and loves it, so I get to go to all of her games. Fortunately, she's not very good, and there aren't many leagues for less than talented girls her age in our area, so I think this may be her last year. But she's going to assistant coach the littler girls next year. I wish she played something I liked, like field hockey or lacrosse.

Oh well, at least she won't get her teeth knocked out with a stick in basketball.

Julie

(Oh, I think my ticker might be optimistic- I have a revised, slightly longer estimate- but just by a few days).

Noooooooo!! We thankfully have not had any snow fall in a week or so, but it has been uber cold. I don't know if I can take another 6 weeks. We went from Dec 29-Jan 31st without going above freezing.

Lisa, a mod, will be closing this Chapter out for us soon.
