I'm looking for a hotel within EASY walking distance of US i.e. 15 minutes or less.
We're not 5* people, we're on a budget so looking for something basic but CLEAN. Thinking something perhaps one step up from Best Western? There's only two of us so the room doesn't have the be gigantic. Good swimming pool/plenty of pool seating would be great. Fridge a bonus! :)

Car park is 15 mins from US, don't think there are any hotels within 15mins are there?, We stayed at Homewood suites Universal a few years ago, that was about nearest you can get, I would estimate 30 mins from there but never tried it, always have a car.

The round tower hotel is called the (four points) Sheraton Studio City.I believe that is about a 15 min walk-as others have said who have stayed there in there trip reports.A few people on here have stayed there and have recommended it.Worth having a nosey at it+then if need be put a thread up asking people for there opinions on it.I quite like the look of it-but it's not South end which is where i like to stay now-although could be tempted back to north area for a good price on a hotel.x.

I've stayed at the Sheraton Studio City and I would say 15 minutes walk to US is accurate, we walked back one day but used the hotel shuttle the other times. It's a lovely hotel, great rooms and service :goodvibes You can usually get a pretty good discounted rate if you search around :) Although it is on the north end we didn't feel it was noisy or busy in the immediate area compared to when we stayed at the Days Inn across from Wet n' Wild, even though the 2 hotels are very close to each other.

Thanks but the cheapest I can find the Studio City hotel is £73/night - we're looking at £50 per night ideally.

Hi. Have you looked at the Doubletree Hotel just outside Universal? We've never stayed there but did go for a look round at the rooms, facilities, etc and we were quite impressed. They also quoted us $99 per room per night, this was however in April 07 so prices may have gone up but might be worth a look; link below for reference. :)
