Fun and Festive Cruise - A member of our crew will escort you to your table for a two-hour afternoon of unparalleled cruising fun. Many tables are designed for seating with other guests, reminiscent of ocean-going cruises. Order drinks, then get ready for the time of your life.

Drinks - Coffee, tea, iced tea and water are complimentary. You may also purchase mixed drinks, fine liqueurs, specialty waters, champagne and exceptional wines.

Dazzling City Views - Enjoy the city's famous waterfront from a totally different point of view through Spirit's huge panoramic windows, or from any of the ship's outdoor viewing decks.(See our cruise route.)

Bountiful Dining - Enjoy a crisp green salad served family-style at your table. When your waiter invites you to our Grande Buffet, feel free to select as much or as little as you like from an amazing array of entrees and side dishes. Finish off your meal with your choice of luscious desserts. (See our menu.)

Live Musical Revue - While you relax over coffee and dessert, Spirit's star-quality performers will dazzle you with a theatrical song and dance on the center stage. These exciting entertainers are among the finest "rising stars" in the city.( Sample our show.)

Dance, Dance, Dance - Spirit' s lunch cruises spotlight some of the hottest DJs in the city. For nearly two hours, you can rock or slow dance to a full range of dance hits including R&B, Country, Hip Hop, Pop, Top-40s, and even some line dances.

$36.90 per person
(Price does not include taxes, fuel surcharge, and administrative fees.)

Board: 11:30 a.m.
Cruise: 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m.

All prices and cruise times are subject to change.

A lunch looks almost affordable. I don't imagine it includes the tip, either, so it's probably close to $60 with tax, tip, etc.

Call us now at 866.429.9283 or click here to contact Spirit via email. We offer special package pricing for groups ranging from school proms to fabulous yacht weddings. Ask about seasonal specials. Spirit prices start at ...
Lunch from $28.90
Brunch from $34.90
Dinner from $50.90
Cocktails from $28.90
Prices do not include taxes, fuel surcharge fees or administrative fees. The administrative fee does not represent a tip or gratuity for our service staff and is used to cover certain direct cruise costs. Similar to a banquet facility, our service staff is paid a higher hourly wage to provide your onboard service. It is appropriate to leave a gratuity for any onboard purchases or if you feel that you received exceptional service.

It looks like we don't need to tip unless we want to......

Dumb question time.....my brain still hasn't recovered fully from last night.

Are we supposed to choose all dates that work for us, example I can do all but 4th and 5th. So should I choose the remaining?

It's a large boat that stays with in the harbor, so it should be fine except for the most severe cases of motion sickness. you know, people who get sick looking at pictures of waves.

Are we posting this on other boards or is it a podcast thing?

It's not like a whale watch. It's always very calm...remember, there's dinner and dancing onboard, and that's hard to do when there's a lot of motion. Have you tried crystallized ginger? Bonine? If you're nervous about seasickness, I'd premedicate.

TSWJan78

I can tell you my husband and I did a casino cruise and got soooooooooooo sick... we did a harbor cruise and he was fine. We got sea-bands and I do not think he even needed them. We could barley tell we were moving.

As for opening it up to ther boards I say the more the merrier!!!

I have tried Bonine ONCE:eek: It helped a bit, but not enough. I have never been on a whale watch or a Disney cruise for this reason. It is weird, I can do roller coasters and other intense rides, but a peaceful boat ride will do me in every time. Oh well, maybe I will make it to the next meet. I hope you all have a great time.

I have to be the only podcast listener who DOESN'T want to win a Podcast cruise:rotfl2: Not that I wouldn't want to hang with everyone....

Hi Boston area Disers!

There was a blurb about this on Allears this morning. I was wondering if anyone else was planning to go to the Mickey balloon giveaway at Downtown Crossing on Sept. 29th? It's a Monday. I'll be there on my lunch hour, I'll sport a LGMH on my bag. I'll be looking for Diser's in the crowd :yay:

If the greatest number of people is Oct. 18, plan it for then. I'll do my utmost to free that day up. One of my friends is going on vacation that weekend, and I think it's presumed I'll cover for her, but it's possible I can get the owner to cover for that day.

Here is what I received from the cruise people. It looks like we have to collect the money and send it in as a group. I'd be willing to take care of collecting if people feel comfortable. (I'm a teacher so I've had a criminal background check;) ) The woman indicated that we can send in individual checks, but they have to come in as a group. There is also a cc payment form that I can email to people if they are interested. I will contact the woman and have her send me the contract, and then we need to decide on a final payment date as a group. What is everyone feeling at this point?

Kim

Hi Kim!

We do have the lunch cruise available on Saturday, October 18th for your
group on the Spirit of Boston and the ticket price is still only $40
total per person with 20 or more guests! Plus, you can still add an
open bar package for the entire cruise for an additional $10 per person
(beer/wine) or $20 per person for a premium bar!!

In order to make a reservation, we require a signed contract and full
payment from groups (and any reservation, really) since we are within 30
days of the cruise. That one person signing is responsible for
collecting all the money from the group and submitting it to me. You
can collect personal checks from folks and mail them to me in bulk, or
even credit cards using the attached form, however you yourself are
responsible for getting all the payments to me.

Please let me know if you are interested in making a reservation!

Thank you!

Erika

That's fine with me, I just want to see everyone. I know of a restaurant in Jamaica Plain that I can get us space in if people are interested. I'm sure there are other places that would have a semi-private space for us to take over, or we can just call with the numbers and make a reservation somewhere. The Stoneforge Grill in Easton near Stonehill has a side room that I'm sure we can get. I'm trying to think easy access and centrally located for people. Any other ideas?

In a previous post somebody mentioned Doyle's in Jamaica Plain near Franklin Park/Zoo. This might be a decent option since its approximately 8 minutes from Back Bay according to the website. I can't post links but google Doyle's in Jamaica Plain and you can see their offerings.

I'm in Shrewsbury so I'm about 30 minutes from Beantown.

I'm okay with Doyle's. Do we need reservations for a group? Sounds like the brunch (9a-4p) is popular. Is there good parking? I'll drive anywhere, but I fear a lack of parking (got a biggish vehicle, not so easy to parallel park!).

I know the owner's of Doyle's so I can make the arrangements to get us space. It's good food, reasonably priced. Also, there is free parking and it's pretty easy to find from the Jamaica Way or route 1. It's also near Forest Hill T-station.

I'm bringing DS9, so bring the kids! Doyle's is fine for kids. I can car pool and pick people up along the way. I'm coming from Norton.

Just a heads up... This is the weekend of the Head of the Charles so make sure you avoid the Storrow Drive/Memorial Drive area

Thanks for PMing Alex Mindy... not sure why I did not just do that... guess I have baby brain

We're all set with the room, and I told them we'd be ordering off the menu so everyone could control their own price. I've been their to eat several times and I'm thinking prices were in the 7-12 dollar range for most things. We can have the room at 10:30 to set up. I'm planning on getting a few decorations and some name tags? I don't love wearing them, but I'm TERRIBLE with names. Does anyone mind?

Tara, you said you'd get something for the kids?

Is there anything else?

My friend worked as a brewer at Owen O'Leary's in Natick before it closed. He mentioned that all new Sam Adams brews start at Doyle's before they hit the market. He also mentioned the Boston Beer Company brewery is in the area. I think Sam Adams brews are part of the Food & Wine at Epcot.

I've already got my name tag!

I have a funeral in Marshfield to attend on Saturday 18th at 11:00. :sad1:

Had been at WDW and in the week since getting back have been very busy with life (girl scouts, work, family, etc). So I hadn't seen this update until today. I have a day of typing (aka big project for the boss) so I thought perfect time to get caught up on 3 weeks of podcasts..........and I saw this.

Sorry, meeting all of you will have to wait for another day.

I know, it's too funny. I had know idea that she'd sent in a voice mail, what a hoot! Jack picked his number and we emailed Julie last night. Now I have to keep him sedated until next week, he's bouncing off the walls!:goodvibes

By the way, how are you feeling?
Have a great Thanksgiving!
Kim

We talked about and encoraged her to send the voicemail at the meet... but you were at the other table when we had the conversation so it was really funny when you were both on at the smae time... we did not plan it but if we did we could not have planned it better!!

I am feeling great!! Only 9 weeks to go and Jillian will be here.. we are super excited.

Can't wait to see you all again!!

Yeah, Kim and I got quite a laugh as she did not know I was going to call in and I had no idea Jack wanted to do a review!

It was VERY exciting! And I know Jack needs to be sedated but SO DO I!!

Go "MY" number!!!

I am so jealous Kristen, just kidding.
I was sitting at the other table and sent in an email asking for a review of the Kids club right after the meet when everyone agreed it would be a great topic. i actually never heard back (it was while Pete was gone and i got an out of the office email) and completely forgot about it.
But i am glad someone called in with the same question and Hopefully you all get something great for prizes!! :goodvibes
Jack and Kim did such a great job with the review! That we are going to book it the next time we go.
