Such a great design! I'm going to save a copy of it even though we won't be at AK until 2010. I'm sure by then I'll have no idea where to find it, but I'll keep wondering what happened to that adoralbe design I saw way back when... It's so cute though, hopefully people will keep it active for a long time to come! Thanks for sharing!

Here are some Mickey Head Designs that we made. We saw that some others had made Mickey Heads with Animal Prints, Tie Dye, etc, we liked the idea and we thought we would play around with it. This is our contribution, definitely not original.

We already have our shirts for this trip, but we have been going every year lately, and next year we hope to do a mini-grand gathering with neices, nephews, MIL, FIL, SIL, and BIL. I'm glad you all like them. It has given my DH an outlet for his creative side, and keeps him busy. ;) We did lots more of the Mickey Heads if you want more of those. There was one with Tink in the middle that says "Just One Of the Girls". He has to fix it and I will add it. :goodvibes

The picture was taken last September by my DH brother. We have seen pictures taken, But not of Disney, where the people were looking away and we just took one that way in the park and it was the best one of all. The Disney characters were just added later and adjusted for the right size in the pic. Thanks for asking.

I posted these with Telynn's permission on the License plate board, but wanted to share them here as well. The base of the Ark Mickey Mouse one was from Telynn and DH just customized it for our trip. The other two he made, but Telynn was definitely the inspiration. Like I said on the License plate thread, it's hard to make a request for personalization when you don't know what you want, but her blanks make it easy to personalize.

Here is a mail box that my DH made for our trip next week. Last year we made a Mickey Mouse and as soon as we got home my Dh started on a Donald Duck. Hope you like it.

ohh the AK is so cute! I think I may add that to the backs of our shirts, the front has Zebra print Mickey heads for me and DD and Cheetah print Mickey heads for DH and DS-- and I just finished cutting them and dying all the shirts... I think these could work on the backs, no?

and seriously now- I LOVE the pic on MS- for the past five years I always say we are taking that shot at the train station and then we get there and I cant stop myself from running right in with all my excitement, this year we will do it for sure, maybe this was meant to be the year to take the pic as we are now a complete family- funny how things work like that. I really love it-- does your DH have a set fee or does he charge by the character, by the hour? LOL :)

I love the mailbox but I have a dumb question, what do you use it for, did I miss something in a previous post telling about it? Did he use a shoebox? Just curious I am always looking for new ideas for our upcoming trip to get the kids more excited than they already are. Thanks!

carstinsmom Here is the pic of the mickey mail box. We wrote letters to him from different characters for each day we were in the park. The hand raised tells my DS that there is mail in the box and then he put it down after reading the letter. The box can be just about any size, from a cake batter box to a fruit snack box. My DH just uses what ever box he finds a work. Then makes the disign on Mirosoft Publisher and prints and decopages it to the box. He uses velcro for the thing that stand off the boxes surface. Natalie has some invitations that are like the letters we wrote that you can have her customize for you. The box was loved a lot and was damaged a little in transport. Thanks for being so kind. He could probably upload a template if you wanted to attempt to make one. It is a publisher file and we are not sure how to share it.

2diamonds&a~gem Thanks for all the kind comments. We really like the photo. We are trying to think of other photo opportunities to take that we can edit on our trip next week. The photo taken at the train station was easy to edit and add characters to. My DH used Microsoft Publisher and imported the photo and then added clipart from http://www.disneyclips.com/. Luckily he only charges me a Yankee dime :love2: but he really just does it for his enjoyment.

Thank you for the information. That would be great if you could figure out how to upload it, if you wouldn't mind to share. I think I will do that with invitaions to dinner at all of our different places. Even though they know now what we have picked and are older, I still think by the time Feb. rolls around they won't remember and they will like having that to do each morning before we head out. It was a disign we modified by Leonsmom, using her heads and body ideas. She may disign the shirt for you if you ask her. Or there may have been other disigners helping out.

Thanks. :thanks: Just got back from our 18 hour drive from the World. :car: The boys really liked getting their mail from the Donald Delivery Service mailbox. They couldn't wait to check it each morning. As soon as we settle down and catch some ZZZZZ's, my DH will try to figure out a way to post a template for making them. I'm glad your DS liked the retro mickey heads. We didn't use them this time, but may in a future trip. We ran out of days to wear shirts. :rotfl:

The sunlight coming through the skylights has a lot to do with the lighting and the clouds in the sky were perfect that day. It's hard to top perfection. Plus, asking other guests to take your picture especially when you turn your back on them, doesn't always get a good response. :confused3 I'm not sure what they were thinking we wanted. Anyway, maybe someday they will post a photopass person up there and we can all get some great pictures. :goodvibes

Here are two new disigns that my DH has been working on. :yay: The reason we made the rounded edges is because the ones with sharp edges seem to lift off of shirts easier. ;) Hope you like them. He is really started to get addicted to this Disigning thing. :surfweb:

LOOOOOVE the Toy Story Mania design your dh made!!! I'm guessing it was made with PS--I can see 1 way to personalize it, with limited names. I would LOOOOVE this design for my dh--who is a TOTAL TSM addict--we rode that ride 9 or 10 times last time we were at DS--the last day we were there was the official opening day, and that was the first time it was actually crowded for us. My dh has talked sooo much of riding this ride--I'd love to surprise him with a shirt with this design. Problem is, his name isn't Alex. It's "Craig". If Jessie were moved over 1 column (or 2), then the "Craig" could come off of the Maniac word. Also, your son's name would need to be removed (sorry) so the other name would fit.

If you or your dh could create the different version for my dh, that would be AWESOME!! If not, I understand that it's a lot of work!--it's a VERY creative design he made--GREAT job!!

You are very welcome. Our first trip to Disney was with my Aunt and Uncle who are Disney Veterens. They planned our entire trip. When we went last year we were suddenly on our own and relied heavily on the things we found on this board to help us out. This year I found this Creative Design section and have been hooked. It has given my DH an outlet for his creative talent and we were able to have matching shirts for my DS and nephew for each day in the parks for our trip in September. We also feel it is a way we can give back to all the wonderful designers on this thread and we will do so as long as we can without losing sight of our priorities at home.

Just to get a little more clarification on the design. Who do you qualify as Princesses? Some things I have visited include Mulan, Ariel, & Jasmine, while others do not. We only have one child a son and he is not into the Princesses so I am in the dark here. I told my DH it would probably be ok with any of the girl characters, but he said to check with you.

You can use dark transfers on all but the MK one without bordes. On that one there would be ALOT of cutting. If you use the light transfer the color of the tshirt will show through the transfer through the design. But yes you just copy and paste it into a word document then size it like you need it and print it out. :goodvibes :thumbsup2

It was funny, as we were entering MGM, my mother accidentally pushed me when we were at the bag table and the security guard was like "JOAN, (yes, he read it wrong! :lmao: ) I don't want to have to make you go to the end of the line now!

Then as we were leaving, the SAME guard was there and I said "SHOOT" ( I don't remember what I did!) and he says to me "FRAN!! That's not a Disney word!!" :lmao: Picture Carson Kressley! He was a RIOT!!!!

Of course you can cut and paste it, as long as you promise that she'll wear it. :rotfl2: :lmao: :rotfl: Just kidding. It makes it much easier if people look through the threads and photobucket accounts (if designers have them) to see if the names have already been done. I guess we could always repost them, but it would just clog up the thread with redundant info. That's how I got alot of my names from Amy aka Mickey on her Star Wars thread. It took me FOREVER, but I looked through every page to see if the names were already there and then I made my request for what I was missing. Good question though. Hope she likes the shirt. We bought some disney palying cards about 4 months ago and that sparked these cards:idea:
I have the A hearts throught the 5 of hearts with mickey growing up a little in each card but stopped and never put them out there for others. I love the family shirts and thought about making a card for each family member age and putting them on one shirt. I even made the front of the card.

There is a design on page 1 the first Animal Kingdom with the map and all the characters (Mickey Goofy etc)

Thanks!:thanks: My DH had a lot of fun making the mailboxes and we both had a lot of fun writing the letters from the characters. It really added a lot to our trip for the boys to have something to wake up to each day. That's how they knew what we were doing because we didn't tell them until the letter told us. I'm glad you liked it! :cutie:
