Has anyone tried this? I am thinking about doing this. I called and got prices, it's $99 to ride with an instructor, and $349 to go solo...8 laps I think it was. These prices do not include discounts for annual pass ect...(10%). I am real tempted, but I want to do the driving! Who has tried this and is it worth the $$$? Thanx in advance

My sister, mom and I gave the experience to my Dad for his birthday. It was the thrill and dream of a lifetime. I am into racing so it was really cool for us to go and watch him drive. The staff was totally terrific. My dad went through a class first and then out on the track. He did the alone one. You go slower than if you were with an instructor. My dad says it was awesome!
it was really cool seeing him in all the gear climbing into the car.

The rookie experience was my anniversary gift to my husband. We just got back 5/27 and he hasn't stopped talking about it and the grin on his face is priceless. He and 11 other "boys" spent about 1 1/2 hours "training" with instructors both in the class and on the track in a van. After the training they were allowed to suit up, put on a helmet and then individually (or two at a time) they hit the track in their own car. They follow a pace car for eight laps. The lap speeds are recorded and they all "graduate" at the end. It was really fun to watch. They had put them on teams and my husband's team had the fastest times so they each got a free team photo. Kinda fun! His top speed was 126mph. I asked if it was worth it and he started counting his change for the next time! HA! He loved it!!!!
