If it was the post in red, I think the entire thread was posted at me because that person was upset that I critisized Sarah Palin's policies in lieu of the fact that her daughter is now underaged, unwed, and pregnant.

They responded to my post quite upset, and then they popped up with that thread.

Seriously, though. How can any sane person look at Palin's record of abstinence only education and not point out that it's failed in her own family. It's not just an attack on her personal life, it's a demonstration of how flawed her policy making is. It directly relates to the issue of how well she can govern.

That was almost exactly what I said that set that person off, and why they posted a new thread directly targeting gay people (and specifically attacking me, although they don't mention me). Just look about 3 pages from the end of the "Sarah Palin is Trig's Grandmother Rumors" or whatever that thread is called and you'll see the posters first comment.

The only time I have been to the CB was to monitor updates from RickinNYC and his family. This post really reminded me of the diverse people in America. Like today I just kicked a customer out for talking about my employee. The customer was implying that my employee gave him the wrong item because he was Mexican. (Of course he was did not put it so nicely) So I kicked him out (the customer is not always right! hahaha) .....although it might have been fun to taunt him a bit....if only he knew this company was run by two lesbians........ :rotfl:

The thing those people don't understand is this:

Palin is a particular type of parent. The selfish type, who uses her children to push her own agenda. I know women who are very similar to her, and I don't like them, either.

Comparing her to any other working parent, gay or straight, misses the point. She ISN'T a working parent like other working parents, she is a specific breed of working parent.

The absence of one gender of parent in a gay or lesbian couple has nothing to do with anything, so the whole thread is just asinine.

I am a nanny. I raise other people's children as a career. I am a decent judge of these things.

I agree with you. My husband and I were just talking about this same issue. I believe that there was a study going back a few months and the results were that abstinence only education does not work.

I am another staight poster who finds that you guys/gals are so much more civil here on this board when it comes to things like politics! I hope you don't mind me posting on your political threads. I consider myself to be pretty liberal and have made a huge effort to teach my son to be tolerant of others and I think that is working!
