I found the new thread! WooHoo!!!! Lori-are ya'll in exile still? I haven't heard any news today to see if they are letting people back in.:confused3 But....since you are fixing drinks, I'll have a hurricane(of course:laughing: ).

For whoever was asking about where we were last weekend, it was The Breaks Interstate Park(so called because it is right on the state line of Ky and Va). It's one of those places that you have to be going there in particular because it isn't on the way to anything else.

Susan-the barns are going to look great. I can't believe how much work you have already done.:cheer2: And I am beyond jealous of the cold weather since it is hotter than the pits of hades here.:headache: I am so ready for fall and winter. Hoping the Old Farmer's Almanac is right this year since they are predicting more snow than usual for us.:cool1:

We just said screw it and went on the road for work for the month.:lmao: But they opened the city today. Our friend Joey checked on the house- everything is A-OK! Not even a broken window pane!:woohoo:

We're in Ohio working- but watching the parade o'storms heading to the US.. They need to go back where they came from cause next week we're in NY/NJ and I don't want no rain up there!(or in NOLA for that matter!)

Thanks for the breadcrumb trail!

I'm still here and trying to keep up with everyone. Things have been crazy around here. Today was my first day of preschool :) I think its going to be a good year, but, my goodness, we have our work cut out for us!

I'm making hats like crazy! People are actually starting to buy them, so I'm really, really excited. I think business will pick up even more when it starts to cool off. Its still in the 90s here.

Hoping the Old Farmer's Almanac is right this year since they are predicting more snow than usual for us.:cool1:It's been really, really hot here too. The local weather people said we'd have a heat index in the 100s today, with a really high humidity. When those hurricanes pass us it sucks all the rain right with it, so we don't get our usual afternoon thunderstorm to cool us down.

Mtnbluejeans, here is what's coming to you soon. As promised it snowed on Sept 1 here and we ran out to get the picture. Our child asked if it was Christmas!
http://i186.photobucket.com/albums/x86/aprilfregd/snow1.jpg

The quilt looks good on the barn as does that 2 ton of hay you have put up. What are you feeding? What kind of hay is that? I hear an advert for a ton at $260 yesterday:scared1: That is why I sold all my horses this year and the trailers too. Now for the tack. That yard looks familiar. :scratchin

I am surprised you are having snow before we do! What are your temps now? We're having a couple of sunny days and rain a couple of times each week. Not really the norm for this area but we'll take the moisture.

We have about 25 head of cattle right now. That hay is just grass hay. DH feeds the cattle grain, too, so he doesn't like to make the hay too rich. He got that for $168 a ton but I am sure the prices will be rising when it gets colder. He has found a guy that brings those big rounds down out of Canada and we will be getting quite a few of those pretty soon. DH calculates how much hay he will need for the entire winter and then buys it all at once. Those 'small squares' are for breaking a few tablets out here and there...

I know alot of people are selling their cattle and horses, around here, going into the winter. We saw alot of ads for animals for sale going into last winter, too. I hope the hay levels out pretty soon. It would be tough to part with a horse you have had for years because you can't feed it. :guilty:

We also wanted to go to the cycle rally Sat night down the shore- DARN! It will probably get rained out! Hopefully we can catch some of the shenanigans on Sunday- but Sunday is never as fun as Sat night!:thumbsup2

Hi,

My DRs gave me the okat to go (i was going anyway) They also made sure DH can do the packing of the wound.
Have fun Kellie--you deserve the vacation.

Love all the Disney pictures and the new hats look fantastic!:thumbsup2 I love it when our Freaps post pictures.

I'm dragging around again this morning. I had to work again last night but did get off at 11:00 and was in bed by 1:00:scared1: I'm one of those people that really need 7-8 hours of sleep though.:sad2: So I'm alternating between the Dis and my current book I'm reading which is really good. It's called Loving Frank and is a fictional account of the relationship between Frank Lloyd Wright and his mistress from her perspective. It is much better than I expected.

I keep forgetting to mention my freebie haul the other day. In our mailbox was a note that we had a package at the post office that wouldn't fit. So I'm wondering what kind of wonderful freebie showed up since I hadn't ordered anything lately. I go to pick it up and it was a fairly large box but didn't weigh much. Inside was.......a whole bunch of toilet paper! It's for some survey where we are supposed to try it out and then report back. I don't even remember signing up for it.:confused3 This week I have also got 3 pairs of panties from the GARB survey people. This is the second time they have sent me stuff for free and when you fill out their survey later they send you a check. Also I have gotten this week the free trimmer(DH thought this was the best) another free roll of TP from Walmart, cat food and have filled my freezer with free bread from the coupon in the paper a couple weeks ago.:cool1:

I'm currently trying to plan a WDW trip for May for DD's b-day and mine and DH's anniversary. I'm thinking we'll stay at POP with the DDP for 5 days and then maybe get a room only at AKL for 3 nights. Has anyone ever done a split stay? I want the AKL part to be a surprise but need to figure a way to book it without DH finding out. I have $220 on a Disney gift card but still need more for the one night deposit. DH reads all the bills and checks our checking account all the time so I don't know how to hide it. My plan right now is to keep adding a little here and there to my gift card until I have enough to pay with that but since I want a CL room I need to do it soon before they sell out. Looking at the prices, it's not that much more for the CL than a standard savannah view room and we would have free food. We're really far too broke to be planning a trip but I can't resist. Even if it doesn't happen, it's still fun to think about.

Interesting sounding book. I don't know much about FLW but I have the impression he had a bit of a tragic life. It doesn't seem that he was recognized for his talent as much as he should have been...until he was gone. :confused3

Tell me more about the GARB survey...

I missed the trimmer freebie some how. DH is growing a beard for the winter and he could have used that.

I can't hide anything from my DH so I am clearly not very good in that department.

We have never done a split stay and I am not that familiar with the resorts so I am eager to see the information the rest of the FREAPS provide.

Our trip next week had to be bare-bones or DH wouldn't go for it. He always resists going to WDW but then he doesn't want to come home when we get down there. :sad2: Our week with the free dining is about $800 and we are using frequent flyer miles to get there. This may be the cheapest Florida trip we have ever taken. Seems like a bargain to me.

I took yesterday off from work and went to the city yesterday for supplies. My mom went with and we had fun with a few exceptions. The eye exam was great while waiting I was telling mom all the things I could see in the distance. Then after the new contacts I couldn't see 30 yards. The gals says to give them a try. So we walk around for 40 minutes and I still can't see. We go back and get the right eye adjusted with a new contact.

I can only say I wish I could see as good with contacts as I do with glasses. They just don't get the reading as clear or big. Why is that? Why can't I have contacts that make reading wonderful and everything else clear? Urg!!! But I have a new set and I will keep trying.

We are so worried about the storms coming to Disney. We are going to just wait and see what happens. I bought 5 umbrellas and 16 ponchos for the trip. I hope we don't need them.

MTbluejeans. I didn't ride the horses in a year and DD only rides them at fair. Yet they were so sweet and such good friends for me. It broke my heart and I was a witch for weeks. Intellectually it was the right thing but my heart hurts to this day. We could afford to feed them but it came down to why have something we don't use, won't use and costs so much. They big paint and colt stayed together and have a wonderful 10 yr old girl who loves them. Cowboy went to a lady my age and she just was perfect for him and he for her. I am so lucky that I got to pick the new owners and I know they will find.

Today, back to work and reading Kitchen Confidential by Anthony Bourdain.

Do you have all of your ADRs?? Where will you be dining? :yay:

When we were there you could not even get near a restaurant for dinner w/o ADRs. I do not like to plan ahead like that- but anymore, that is what you have to do.

They had to open up some other places to dine just to accomodate all the free dining visitors!

One night we wanted to have dinner and had no ressies- so our hotel checked for us, there was NOTHING open except for Wolfgang Puck Cafe- upstairs. I asked her if they take the dining plan and she looked into it and told me, yes, they did......we get there, and are ready to order and the waiter asked if we were on the dining plan- I said yes, and he said they do not accept it:rotfl2: :headache:

It is DOWNSTAIRS that takes the dining plan! Not upstairs- we had to pay out of pocket. Live and learn.........

My eyes have gotten so bad and I can't wear contacts any more. :sad1: My astigmatism has gotten so bad that my eyes are literally shaped like footballs with pointed ends. The eye doctor told me should could find me contacts that would fit but she doesn't even recommend them because of the cost. sigh From what I have experienced the contacts will roll around a bit, causing blurred vision, if they can't seal to the eyeball.

Oddly enough, the last time I had a check up she told me my vision was improving and she felt she sees that in patients as they get older. However, the astigmatism is not improving so, although my vision is reversing and improving, the astigmatism and shape of my eye still makes contacts cost-prohibited. :confused3 I need to get in and get my eyes checked again. I am having trouble reading with my glasses but it is because my eyes are getting 'better' and my glasses are too strong. :sad2:

I am so sorry about your horses but I know it makes you feel better to know they have gone to a good home.

:scared1: :scared1: :scared1: NO ADRs and you are leaving next week!!! My heart goes out to you!!! At least you are getting the MP for free- you will be fine with your CS and your snacks.

I can tell you this- Spoodles on the BW serves breakfast until 11am and they were never crowded- so that is an option. You can use a TS for a really nice (non character:thumbsup2 ) breakfast

Do you think your DH might not mind getting to the parks around 11am- you MIGHT be able to use your TS credits for an early lunch at some of the restautants. Especially in Epcot. When we were in Epcot early in the day it seemed like no one was in the World Showcase- however, with the F&W that might be a little different now.

BTW- don't even BOTHER attempting to eat at the AK! The whole place is filled with horrible food, CS and TS- IMHO anyway. Bleck- we ate at Pizzafari OMG- the pizza is horrible- I am limited b/c I am a veggie- but AK is the worst!

I cannot believe they got rid of the Tusker House CS:sad2: That was a really bad move! The TH had the best CS meals!

If you are planning on going to DTD- go to Wolfgang Puck EXPRESS for the pizza!!!! Now THAT is so worth it! You get really good food and it is CS!!

The one thing I really did not like about the changes to the DP is no appetizer however, you get a dessert:confused3 Disney is making such a fuss about "healthy eating" and they do away with the more healthy choice:mad: I am sure it has everything to do with the saving money somehow!:sad2:

If we do, I am definately spending a lot of time there to fully appreciate it. We'll get the commando touring out of the way earlier in the week so we can relax some.:hippie:

I love that book too! And to tell the truth I kind of have the hots for Anthony B.

I'm jealous of your trip. I plan imaginary trips all the time just to have something to daydream about.:rotfl2: Even assuming I can talk DH into going in the spring, the AKL part is probably just a fantasy. A freap's gotta have dreams though.:cloud9:

Marna- please, do not tell me you are daydreaming about a Disney trip when you have JD on this earth!:lmao: :rotfl2:

You know- DH watches Anthony Bourdain and I just can't get into him:sad2: He seems a little cocky or something :confused3 I can't put my finger on it.....

I may have mentioned this long ago- but do any of you watch 3 Sheets on MOJO??? I am SO in love with Zane Lamprey! I always tell DH I want to hang out with Zane b/c he is always SO darn funny (and sexy!)

He goes around drinking in different countries

What about just Vanilla Vodka and YooHoo! Isn't that low fat? :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

By the way...the tv was just hijacked by the weather sevice....Big news conference, Ike is not looking so good! It should most likely stay to the south end, but everyone will head north and clog up the highways and hotels and whatnot....They already said they are prepared to route all of the highways north bound! So I guess we'll see....I think I might have to go clear off the lanai again. Good thing we didn't take the shutters down! :thumbsup2

Stay safe! DH just called and he wants to go down the shore tonight to be sure his sailboat is all tied up nice and tight- we are supoosed to get rain and wind, I guess from Hannah?

I never pay attention to the storms b/c in Jersey we never get anything serious- no bad hurricanes, tornadoes, snow storms...... I never know what is blowing around out there!

Let's just put it this way- If I ever started drinking Vanilla Vodka and YooHoo, DH would probably disown me:lmao:

OMG- YooHoo just made me think of this- I am drinkin' YooHoo and burnin' my WhoWho  :rotfl2:

I'm a born and raised Cape Codda. I just recently moved to Florida. Cape Cod is a beautiful place, but it gets a little too crazy in the summer. I do miss the beaches and the sunsets. My family (Mom,Sister, Daughter and Grand Baby) still live there.

We went in the Fall and it was PERFECT- we rented a convertible and drove all around Martha's Vineyard for the day- it was so quiet!

Well- I can drip the chocolate on the inside of the glass and make "lines" and then just pour in some vanilla vodka and 2% milk!!! Instant ZEBRA MARTINI!!! They should sell them at the AKL lounge!

ETA- OK- If AKL steals my idea I will sue! HA!

Oh my gosh, you guys, I can't keep up with you! :rotfl2:

I know...NO ADRs! :scared1: My kids have told me they don't enjoy WDW because I plan everything right down to 'pool time'! I think that got stuck in my brain! This may be the 'spontaneous trip' where we actually lose weight! ;) I will have to get things squared away today. (The ADRs was one of the "goals" I wasn't meeting.)

I have heard of 'cow tipping' but never 'zebra tipping'! :lmao:

I have been watching a thread somewhere around the boards about drinking your way thru EPCOT. I told DH that we have to bring him back one of those German glass boots that will hold 2 cans of beer. He says yes now but I think he will chicken out when we get there. I'll have to think of a way to get that big glass boot back here by myself, I can see it now. :headache:

Thanks for the food and restaurant recommendations. I am so excited to try all these new places! Even with the storms coming and going, it will be exciting to be down there. Oh, gosh, how boring of a life do I lead???? :sad2:

The national weather reports show the storms working their way all the way up the coast to Canada! What kind of storms are they by the time they get up that far north?

The overplanning is exactly why DH will not go to Disney anymore!:guilty: He WILL- he just needs some time to miss it. ;) The ONLY plans I made for our last trip were, Pick the parks that TGM says are the best to do on which day- and then I made my ADRs around those days. I did not make any for breakfast b/c that means you have to set an alarm clock- that is something the people I go to Disney with do not seem to like!?:confused3

If you do not go with early risers and still want to do a character breakfast- justask for the very last ressie available! The restaurant is usually less crowded b/c everyone rushed in early in the morning. BUT- I am not a big fan of character dining, so I try and skip them. I only did dinner with Cinderella b/c my niece has never been to that one. Now, I can say, been there, done that....not goin' back.:rotfl2:

I made all of my ADRs and told SIL if we decide we did not want to go- that's fine- but at least we have them. The only ressie we skipped was The Plaza Restaurant in the MK, all of the others, we ended up doing.

Good luck! Let us know how you make out!

We got back fron the shore about an hour and a half ago- we drove down b/c DH had to be sure everything was good with his sailboat before Hanna comes up the coast!

Hey freaps- Home this weekend and need to be resting. Had some vision problems yesterday and had to get my eyes dilated. My MS can cas lots of strange and unusual problems ;) . Well, besides being filmy and kinda grey, it's not getting any worse, so I don't have to take steroids, but do have to take it easy. Oh no, no yardwork......:rotfl: . So, after all the vision changes and worry and stressful day, what do you think puts me over the edge? I get home yesterday afternoon and get an acceptance e-mail from the Clone Wars houseparty. Actually call my DS11 into the room I'm so psyched. By the time I log on, ALL FILLED UP!! After re-clicking on the ling about 6 times (b/c my excited boy is sure eventually the strategy will work) my in box has a new e-mail that, in fact, I was not one of the first 2002 to respond. :headache: At that point I was actually fighting back some tears. Excused myself, took a loooong shower, and took to the couch. :happytv:
So, I have to admit, even this morning I was not so sure I should check in to the threads. After the frozen concoction maker letdown of '08 (:lmao: ) I didn't know it I had it in me to be excited for all my freaps. Sorry- I know that is just not right....:flower3: .

I didn't even know about the clone one. Good thing too, if I didn't get it my boys would be the ones taking to the couch and then they would be pouting for weeks.

I do have to say that the frozen concoction maker one was the very best one ever. As much as I would like the Canon printer one, I think the maker was a better fit. Think I'll go make a smoothie for breakfast for the boys.

You just come on over or go to Tinker's house and we will fix up anything you want.

I have been enjoying the freebies for half a year, and racking up posts on my own random thread, but it seems like you freaps have a good time chatting so I thought I would join in!

Love all the freebies (got the razor/trimmer on Friday!)
and I so sympathize with the house party NON-hostesses, I can't seem to get in on any of them either! I wanted that margarita maker, too. I NEED it! :rolleyes1

My posting has slowed way down since school started (since I am a teacher, my free time is now greatly compromised, and the DIS is blocked at my school too!) :teacher:

I have been a lurker and silent agree'er about the possible spambot thread start hogger, and I do enjoy the chats even if they are on the freebie thread!:yay:

Anyway, I just turned 41, and visited with Mickey for my August birthday this year too (joined last year when I was to hit the big 4-0). I have three wonderful but needy kids who take virtually every second of my "free" time, and my whole day improves if I come home to a freebie in the mailbox. So far my mailman seems to keep his hands off!:rotfl:

I see this part just started, and is moving fast, so I feel like I am sort of coming in at the beginning. I will try to catch up and get to know you all!

It's nice and cloudy here, so no pressure to be perky today ;) . So, color me happy and fiddle-de-dee, tomorrow is another day. :goodvibes
Kellie- glad you're having fun down the Cape. How is the weather there??

I might be willing to share extra Cartoon Network Star Wars: The Clone Wars stuff. Don't know what there will be and how many people DD and DS will want to have come over that night, but I'll keep you posted.:hippie:

I just went thru my bathroom closet. I have soooooo much stuff I'm gonna have to donate some of it. It's quite funny, really. I get lots of free things from Walgreens (heck, sometimes they pay me to take that stuff out of the store:rotfl: byt the time I use sales, coupons, and rebates!) And DH never runs out of razors:lmao: or stuff to take with him when he travels.

I need to redo the shelf paper on those closet shelves. Would it be weird if I used Disney Princess shelf paper?:confused3 My "princess" is 14 and so not into the princesses (or pink) anymore, but I miss them!

I'll trade with you :yay: I got the Orville/Maybelline House and I think I'll probably get alot of make-up.:thumbsup2

We are STILL painting that barn! :headache: My gosh, DH is a slave driver! :rotfl:

I had painted the primer on the 8' area and then painted the whole thing with white paint, thinking it would act as a second coat of primer. NO. The other colors don't really want to cover the white paint. I am having to do coat after coat of color to cover up the white all the way. :sad2: I won't do the other side like that! Grrrrr....!

I still need to put a couple more coats of green and blue but here it is...almost getting there:

http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b317/mtblujeans/DIS/Almostdone.jpg

And DH isn't waiting for me anymore. He, DD, and DS have been slapping barn red paint on the other sides as fast as they can:

http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b317/mtblujeans/DIS/barnred.jpg

I clearly won't get to the other end until we get back. I just hope the cold weather stays away until October. It was raining this afternoon while we were doing some of the painting. After I throw a couple more slaps of color on there, that's it for awhile. I still need to do :laundy: and pack before we leave next week. I still feel in :scared1: mode! :rotfl2:

I'm looking for lime green shoes to go with Dd's homecoming dress. it's black with lime green sash/bow and green polka dots. I'm not haveing much luck. Any ideas where I can search? I've tried shoebuy, shoemall, zappos, and several others. Trying not to spend a fortune, too. What do you think?

I could try this- here honey, hold your glass of wine and go stand on your boat- I can hide somewhere http://i38.photobucket.com/albums/e132/rhonda420/main%20album/funny%20smileys/smileystalkeruw5.gif and snap away in hopes he would eventually get to that position, you know, shirt off, hand on hip and face in the sun :lmao:

Well you'd have to give him a few "starter" glasses of wine first and then send him up on the boat.....he'd be less inclined to question you then:lmao:

Have a good trip to the mecca....it's still a ways off for us :guilty: but then it should be a debt free trip so I try to put that twist on it to brighten me up about it being so long since the last one (05).

Everyone be safe with all these awful storms...we had some major rain last night and some wind but not too bad...we only ended up with 1 kid in bed with us because he thought he saw lightening  That doesn't happen too often so it's nice to still hold that special place sometimes. They get too big too quickly!

DS's football game got pushed back an hour :headache: I wouldn't have minded if you told me LAST night but I already got up at 6AM on a SUNDAY and now we have to hang around for an hour before we can leave now...DD was not happy about getting up either so that would have been nice to leave her sleep a little longer too!

Hey freaps. I gotta share something. My DS12 (to be 13 next month) has become a new man. :goodvibes The little guy of mine who has spent the past few years with hunched shoulders trying to disappear suddenly has a bit of confidence and is taking an interest in how he looks. He asked for help finding a face scrub. He asked to get his hair cut. We went shopping for clothes today and he searched the racks and went to the dressing room and everything. I am so happy for him right now. I've always been a little worried about his self-esteem since he never wanted to bother, and I wouldn't push anything on him so as not to give him a complex- you know, let him know he is loved no matter what. But I also knew what kids could say to him and would worry depending where he was.
So, right now I am a pretty happy mom, and can let that big breath out!!! :lovestruc

Good for him! Maybe he has an eye on someone  I have never tried the product but I know a GF who swears by the proactive system if he has spotty skin/acne patches. She's been using it for years & I do remember when she wasn't using it her skin didn't look bad but it was patchy esp. around that time. And good for you to not emphasize looks but who he is. Kids and even adults can be cruel and it's hard to be a parent and watch it.

Looks like you had a good time Kellie! I hope it made you feel a little better and not too worn out!

Jeankeri~My daughter was using the proactive and then we found that the acne free from Walmart seemed to work even better and cost a little less. But we also use Neutrogena Clear Pore cleanser/mask. I don't know if you could get your son to use a mask, but maybe if you just buy it and leave it in the bathroom he would read the instructions and do it privately?

Whew...having a hard time catching up with ya'll.:lmao: That's what I get for going AWOL this weekend I guess. I worked late on Saturday and then had bookclub with all my best girlfriends yesterday. Our book this time was Loving Frank by Nancy Horan. It was an awesome book from the perspective of Frank Lloyd Wright's mistress. We all pored over pictures of FLW's work and planned road trips to go visit some of them. We also ate huge amounts of yummy food, including sushi(which I just learned to make yesterday:banana: ), and one of the girls made Wedding Day martinis which were sooo good. It was vanilla vodka, pineapple juice and amaretto which sounds kind of icky to me but were yummy.

As for the GARB panel, I don't know what answers they are looking for.:confused3 I answer truthfully and have gotten in twice. For the record, I never buy undies at Victoria's Secret or any fancy-schmancy places, usually JC Penneys, Kohls, etc. The first set they sent me were cotton and were sort of atractive. This last bunch are some kind of synthetic fiber and are of the granny panty variety. I think they are supposed to be the kind that doesn't show seams, which is not something I worry about in my jeans or sweats.:lmao: I wish I could get in on some free bra study since I REALLY need some new ones.

Welcome turning40!!!!

 To all that are having doggie, weather, eye, teenager or any other problems I've missed.

I just took a huge step(for me)this morning and have been on the phone trying to track down my training records from when I worked as a forest ranger. Next year, DH has agreed that I can plan to go out West on fire details to make some extra money!!!! I have really been missing it lately and I feel like the kids are old enough for me to abandon them for 2 weeks a couple times a year. I would be able to make as much money in a couple of 2 week details as I do working part-time ALL year right now. I may have to pay for a couple of trainings this winter out of my own pocket to catch up on some things but I think it would be worth it. One of my best friends is the Assistant Fire Management Officer for the Daniel Boone National Forest and she is in charge of finding people when NIFC(National Interagency Fire Center) needs people to go somewhere. She is helping me figure out what I am certified to do and what trainings I'll need. Do ya'll think I'm senile? :confused3 Here I am getting ready to turn 40 and planning something crazy like this.

I definately DON"T want to go back to work as a Forest Ranger. It was very stressful and I really don't want a full time job. I'm quite happy at home and haven't given up on my dream of my bakery business. I just want to go out West a couple times of year because the $$ is so good and I love the excitement of the big fires. I wouldn't mind helping out some here if they have a bad fire season as long as they don't expect too much commitment out of me.:confused3

Hi ladies!
Sorry about your vision, jeankeri. I hope the return is speedier than three weeks. Since school started my house has done a rapid decline in cleanliness (should be the opposite, kids away all day, house is cleaner, but I teach, and have no time or desire to tidy up all night long).

Wedding photos are beautiful!

I hadn't heard Steve and Barry's was closing......hope not all of them, though I rarely get to any stores myself, the kids are not fun shoppers and it just isn't worth the battle most days.

Today was the first night of swim practice, starting at 5, so my DD9 had a "dinner" of creamed corn, salt and vinegar chips, and a chocolate ice cream cone right after school. I'm expecting the delivery of my "mother of the year" award any day now. After practice is homework hell, which usually lasts right up till bedtime.

At least the weather here is still great, no rain from Gustav or any of his relatives, and the leaves will soon be gorgeous colors.

That sounds like how I eat. But without the creamed corn. Oh, and substitute jalapeno chips for the salt and vinegar ones.

Now to catch up:

Kellie-I have loved seeing the pics. It looks like you had a good time. So no sand in strange places?

Jeankeri-I am so sorry about your vision problems. That has to be so weird feeling, not having sight in that one eye for so many days. I hope it doesn't take that long to come back. I am also sorry about the house party thing! I have just about given up applying-i have never been accepted for any of them.http://www.sheknows.com/graphics/emoticons/af.gif

pperfectmom-that is so cool that you are going back in! I know they always need more firefighters. You gotta do what you love, life is way too short not too!

We don't have a Steve and Barry's near here (probably closest one is near Debii) and I have never been in one but probably a good thing!

Okay so here is my sob story! I have been having problems with my neck shoulder and left arm, resulting in numbness in my index and middle finger (Its been three weeks today since this began). I had an MRI after X-Ray didn't show up anything and I have a genetically small spinal column and a bulging disc which is pinching a nerve in my genetically small spinal column. I am now in physical therapy and getting better but still not quite there yet-still have numbness in my fingers. I have got to get better by two weeks, that is when I go back to AL to work my sisters' consignment sale and make the money for our Disney trip! :scared1:

Oh and one other thing I forgot to post last week! We had some excitement here. I think it was Thursday, I let Max out because he was whining to go out and a couple of minutes later he started barking and he doesn't typically bark. I went outside to see what he was barking at and look what I found coming into our yard!!!!

We live near a golf course so I guess he was making his way over to there but WOW! I never expected to see one coming under our fence into the backyard! He eventually found his way out in a small opening in the back and ended up in our neighbors pool. I don't know what happened to him after that.

Welcome to my world! I have 2 swimmers so I feel your pain. It makes dinner something of a challenge doesn't it??:dance3: Mine eat so much junk some days. Snacks after school and before practice, then I have to have food ready righht after practice or they'll eat anything and everything in sight. They've had meals similar to those your DD ate tonight!

Hey all, have you been to house party site recently? They have a new house party, it's called "Ford Warriors In Pink House Party". It sounds really cool here is the description from their page
http://www.houseparty.com/splash/fordwarriorsinpink

Supporter... Fighter...Survivor... However the battle against breast cancer fits into your life, Ford supports your cause.

Host a Ford Warriors in Pink House Party, and have a blast raising awareness while showing off your favorite Ford vehicle. Your party will watch Kath & Kim -- NBC's new comedy featuring Molly Shannon and Selma Blair -- and show your support for breast cancer awareness. Enjoy a free party pack filled with great gifts from Ford Warriors in Pink. Treat your guests to a test drive in your Ford vehicle, allowing them a chance to win a 2009 limited edition Ford Mustang with Warriors in Pink package!

Question.......What do they mean showing off your favorite ford vehicle and treat your guests to a test drive in your Ford vehicle? Do you have to have a Ford vehicle? Maybe you get a rental for free (that would be nice, since I don't have a car). Or are they giving away free cars?????????

DD and DS had their first soccer game last night. I'll try to post photos later. They were so cute. Whoa!!! Did you say this is from your MS???

I am so sorry- has it ever taken this long to come back????:confused3
This happened 12 years ago, and was actually how I was diagnosed. It's called optic neuritis. The vision gets worse over about 4 days until it's basically dark grey in my eye, then returns to (hopefully) normal in 3-4 weeks. The first time it happened- really freaky. Now things pop up out of the blue and it's an annoyance until it goes away. This past April the left side of my mouth up to my earlobe was numb for 3 weeks, just like I had gotten novacaine. I didn't enjoy that too much. :headache:
However, in the scheme of things, I consider myelf pretty lucky. I can play with my kids, I can walk around, drive my car, go on vacation. I haven't had any deficits hang on when a flare up ended. It may not always be that way, but I'll do all that I can as long as I'm still able to. :thumbsup2 (I only take to the couch when I miss a houseparty sign-up...:lmao: ).

I am sorry I just about fell out of my chair laughing my DD is only 11 and we have had those cars talks too. Nothing to serious but the look they give when you start talking.:rotfl: :rotfl2: :lmao: :rotfl:

Well, I didn't get an EXACT answer but I'm guess you already know what it means!;)

I saw it as another opportunity to discuss the facts o life with her yet again. Lucky us!

You take the good you take the bad
you take them both and there you have
the facts of life

I'm kinda surprised that the only thread discussing the Hadron Collider is on the teen board. I was expecting to find "we're all gonna die!" threads all over the CB, but I couldn't find a single one.

I have to share the best saying I have heard in a long time with you all--

Our bookkeeper just e-mailed me, we rant to each other about our other offices- anyway- she said, and I quote:
"So the next time you and I lose our minds, by mis-dating things or whatever, at least we should know we are just stressed--not stupid!"

I LUV it- I think that should become a sticker!;) "You will have to excuse me, I am just stressed, not stupid!":lmao:

Ladies, I need to know, why do grey hairs only pop up on the top of my head an stick out like bent wires? To make it worse I have very dark hair and each time I get stressed they pop out like mad.

I have even been known to take a black sharpie just to get through a day!

I am colouring every 6 weeks now just to get the top greys covered. This just sucks and I guess it is called having my 50th Birthday soon. Old age is the pits.

Good morning Freaps! Have I missed anything?:confused3 I know mtblu is in WDW(lucky FREAP!). Kellie had fun at the wedding(and no sand anywhere it shouldn't be:rolleyes1 ). Madd wants to be a vampire. Jeankeri needs a hug. Neil Harris has dropped in out of the blue.:confused3

IAHD-I want some of the pumpkin bread, but I have to go make some coffee to go with. Which reminds me, I saw that Starbuck's has the pumpkin lattes out for the season. I love those things, but the other day it was about 90 degrees and did NOT sound appealing. I also love, love, love their pumpkin cream cheese muffins. OMG those are good. I found a recipe and can now make my very own on weekends.

Dunkin Donuts make an AWESOME pumpkin muffin too but make sure they put on the extra sugar icing that they are supposed to drizzle on ~ if they skip that step it's just not the same
