I'm planning a trip to Orlando next March (8-15) and I've narrowed down the resorts I'd like to stay to Vistana Resort or Westgate Lakes Resort. I've stayed at the Vistana Resort at the begining of 2000. It was nice and I'd stay there again, but I'd like to stay somewhere I haven't been (the adventurous side in me). So I'd like to hear from some people who have been to these resorts lately and get recommendations.
Also, is it too early to try booking some rooms, or is time not really a factor with these resorts?
I'd also be willing to consider alternate resorts if they're comparable to the ones I've listed.
Thanks,

My first consideration would be the price. If you're staying at Westgate is the rate including housekeeping? If it does you can compare it to Vistana, which does include the housekeeping in their rate.
The location is about the same in distance to the attractions. I have never stayed at VV but would love to, it gets some great press on these boards. I stayed at WL in Dec 2001 and though it was nice it was not FABULOUS. I went on a timeshare thing and thought it was worth the $30 a night I spent.
Have you considered Wyndham Palms? They are GORGEOUS and they offer 2 and 3 bedrooms that are extremely nice and brand new. I toured them two weeks ago and was very impressed.

Thanks for the quick response Robinrs. I don't know if the price includes housekeeping or not. I haven't looked at pricing close enough to know the nuts and bolts. I have been looking at websites that list timeshare rentals like www.tug2.net. I haven't been able to find the timeshare deals (like your $30/night), but I may be looking in the wrong places.
I will definately check out Wyndham Palms

I found out about the Westgate Lakes Resort at Floridavactionstore.com. It gives you the 1888# to call and if you act sem-interested they will give you 8 days and 7 nights for 449.00. You can not beat that. My sister and I are staying at the Holiday Family Suites for 5 nights and 6 days and then we are staying the remainder at the Westgate Lakes Resort. I hope this helps.
