We are staying at OKW in May (just my family) but want to go back in December and let the kids take their friends. We are thinking about the All Star Movies with 2 rooms, one for mom and girls and one for dad and boys. Was lucky enough to get a rate of 59.00 per night for 5 nights and I thought that was too good to pass up. I was just wondering if All Stars "fix up" for Christmas like the more expensive resorts do. My DD has begged to stay at AS MOvies for 2 years so I thought we would give it a try. Also, when do we find out when MVMCP will be held? Thanks for all your help. IF you have any pictures of AS MOvies I would love to see them. :D

We were at ASSp last x-mas, and the decorating was fairly minimal, limited to the check-in area and the areas outside the food court/gift shop. With all the in-your-face theming at these hotels, though, it would be hard to do too much without causing overkill.

They do get fixed up, although they don't have as much going on then. In regards to the Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party, historically they start the Thursday after Thanksgiving, and are held on Monday, Thursdays and Fridays. I'm not sure how long they run into December, since I haven't researched that far (I know, shortsighted of me, but our vacation ends the week after Thanksgiving). As for the official dates, they will probably come out in September or October maybe.

Do you mind me asking how you got a $59.00 a night rate? Is there something out there I just haven't seen?

Don't know how I got the great rate, just called CRO and that is what she quoted me for 2 rooms during that time. I didn't ask any questions!:D Thanks for the pictures!

Lucky you! You got AS Mo for $59 per night? If you don't mind my asking, what dates are you going, and when did you book it?
Maybe I should call again and try to get that rate! :p

We are going Dec. 19th (which is the last date for value) thru Dec. 24th. and I booked this last Friday! I was told if your check in date is in value season then your whole stay is that rate! Try it and see what you get!

I also tried Dreams Unl. and they quoted me 862.40 for 2 rooms for 5 nights and my quote with CRO was 660.00 BIG DIFFERENCE! Keep trying and get the rate you want!

They usually have a small tree in the lobby and a few garlands, but they aren't decorated anywheres near the deluxe resorts.
For a fee you can oder a small tree that comes decorated fom the WDW Florist. It's yours to take home afterwards as well.
